READING, PA - The Wrestling Championship Federation has approved a plan to erect a 30 foot statue of company CEO and former three-time WCF World Champion Jonny Fly on the front lawn of company headquarters. The statue of his likeness was an initiative proposed by Fly during the WCF's April Board of Director's meeting. Despite mixed feelings from the company's Board, Fly went ahead and green-lighted the project and construction is set to begin early next week.
"I'm thrilled by this project," says Fly. "It's truly an honor that a thirty-foot likeness of me is going to stand tall and proud on the lawn of the Wrestling Championship Federation forever. I've done good by this company, and I deserve this honor. My original plan was for the statue to be 50 feet tall, but I've been told the ground is too soft for something that big. I then thought about moving the company headquarters to fix that problem, but I'm a sucker for tradition. WCF belongs in Reading, Pennsylvania, just like Jonny Fly belongs depicted on statues."
The project is estimated to cost the company between 1.5 and 2 million dollars. Chief Financial Officer Jay Price agreed to fund the project after being promised a statue for himself. WCF veteran and Hall of Famer Corey Black is rumored to be in the mix for one as well, with the only hold-up being Black's insistence on his statue depicting him delivering a Burning Hammer to Doc Henry. Somewhat surprisingly, Fly himself confirmed that Jeff Purse and Skyler Striker are not on the list to receive a statue any time soon.
