The deep throbbing sound of loud music can be heard coming from the building in front of the camera as the scene fades in. The camera zooms out a little to reveal the name of the club, The Graveyard, which is the long time club owned by WCF superstar, Gravedigger. The cameraman walks up towards the door of the club and as he approaches the front of the long line wrapping around the block, one of the bouncers at the door, reaches up and touches something near his ear and talks to someone.
Right as the camera gets within a few feet of the bouncer, the curtains in the doorway part and out walks a familiar face. It’s the head of security for The Graveyard. The bodyguard of Gravedigger and former WCF wrestler Mike D. Mike D glances at the cameraman and waves him forward. He leans over and yells in the cameraman’s ear due to the loud music pouring out from the nightclub.
Mike D: Digger said you were coming by. He’s up in the VIP section.
Mike D pats the cameraman on the back once as he walks into the club and then turns to the front of the line where people are trying to be allowed into the club.
The scene switches to the inside of the club as the cameraman walks into the middle of the place. As in most nightclubs, the lights are turned down, lights strobe everywhere and the place is filled with people dancing to the music. The camera stops on the stage to see heavy metal band Fear Factory playing on the massive stage. They are playing one of their older songs “Shock”. A mosh pit has formed near the stage. Members of security stand nearby on both sides of the stage in case things get out of hand in the mosh pit. People in the crowd occasionally notice the cameraman filming and they jump up and down and wave, realizing they’re going to be on TV. Shouts of Jay Price, Jonny Fly, Sarah Twilight, and Treachery can be heard from random people when they notice the WCF logos on the camera.
The camera pans around the rest of the nightclub. People are gathered around tables, flashes go off occasionally as people take pictures of each other and the band on the stage. Finally near the top of the nightclub, a few security stand guard in front of a roped-off area. Seeing Adrian standing nearby it, towering over everyone makes it clear that that’s the VIP area. The cameraman heads up there. Adrian spots the cameraman and taps one of the security on the shoulder. He turns and unhooks the rope keeping people from entering the VIP area and he ushers the cameraman in.
Seated at a raised table is none other than Gravedigger himself, a small bandage on his forehead from the barbed wire used in his match with Oblivion the other night. Both Jessie and JJ are seated on each side of him. Half-full glasses of various types of alcoholic drinks sit in front of them. Gravedigger is talking to Dobbie who sits a couple of chairs away from Gravedigger. He stops and turns to the camera when the cameraman walks up. He nods in acknowledgement. Gravedigger holds both arms up and gestures at the nightclub.
Gravedigger: Welcome back to The Graveyard. It’s been a while since I cut a promo in here. As you can see, I pulled some strings and hired Fear Factory to play tonight. They’re preparing to release a new album in a few weeks. I hope your mics can pick up what I’m saying, because I’m having to talk louder than usual due to the music in here tonight.
I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m here in the public eye feeling great rather than being in some dark room brooding and angry about losing the hardcore title to Oblivion. I just lost the final match in our several month long feud. My response to that is why should I be down? Why should I feel defeated? I beat Oblivion two months in a row in front of the world at back-to-back pay-per-views. So what if I was defeated for the hardcore title on Slam. Even the mighty Gravedigger has a bad night and can lose a match, hell look at my win-loss record. For having all the amazing amount of accomplishments I have here in WCF, I have a lot of losses as well.
The way I look at it when it comes to being defeated by Oblivion for the hardcore title is that I have a weight lifted off of my shoulders. For several months, I have had this large target on my back due to holding the hardcore title. Many wrestlers wanted a shot at it. Oblivion was obsessed with getting it back. Now he has it and now I can concentrate on something else I’ve been meaning to accomplish: destroying Logan and the Team of Treachery. Seth Lerch, first I want to address you.
This bullshit you’ve been spewing about supposedly protecting me and being the only reason I kept the hardcore title is exactly that…bullshit. Yeah, after you turned on me I end up losing the belt, but that was coincidence. I’m not surprised we’re enemies though. This whole business deal was not going to last forever. I mean honestly no matter how much you’re paying someone to help you out, knowing the COUNTLESS amount of trauma, destruction and problems I’ve caused you over the years can only be ignored for so long. We’re meant to be enemies and frankly I love being your enemy.
I love being your enemy because no matter how much you try and stop me and hold me down, I always prevail and I always come out on top. Do you really think aligning yourself with Logan and the Team of Treachery is going to change how things have worked between us in the past? You should know better, Lerch. Speaking of the Team of Treachery, you scum-sucking leeches want to run out after that brutal hell Oblivion and myself put each other through and then still attack us? Logan, Seth, Doc, FPV, whoever had the bright idea, I gotta applaud you. That’s what I’ve always loved doing over the years. Wait until the match is over and then beat the hell out of my enemies. If you’re going to do it, do it right.
The thing is, whenever I’ve done this in the past, my enemies never really strike back. They just do the honorable thing and wait until we’re scheduled for a match. That’s not going to happen with me. See I’m going to destroy all four of you. I don’t care if I’m in a handicap match or if I’m having to team with people like Roy Speede to do it. However I accomplish destroying you is fine by me. Speaking of matches with ToT, XIII is two days away. In two days, I step into the ring with Super FPV. Corey Black is like the new Nostradamus or something because he booked this match weeks before FPV joined Logan and reformed the Team of Treachery.
Frankie, buddy. I know what you’re thinking. You’re part of the Team of Treachery. You’ve got Logan watching your back. You’ve got Doc Henry watching your back. You even have the owner of the company looking out for you. You think you’ve got it all figured out and you’re safe from anyone in WCF including the almighty Gravedigger. See, that’s the thing though. You THINK you’re ok. You THINK you’ve got all these people watching your back and that you’ll be fine. However, like I pointed out, you’re going up against me, Gravedigger. I have made a career out of destroying my enemies. I have made a career out of inflicting physical and emotional pain on those who stand in my way.
Once I lost that hardcore title on Slam, our match became a different kind of match. No, not because it went from being for the hardcore title to just a standard match. No, no , no, Frankie, boy. You’re now going up against a man with nothing to lose. I have no titles to lose to you. I have no title shots to lose to you. My career? I could end my career right now and go out on top. My legacy? My legacy here in WCF is cemented as one of the greatest and there’s no way in hell that’s going to change anytime soon. I’ve been in this business for a long time. You? You’re just getting started. You’re where I was ten years or so ago.
Don’t get it twisted and think that means I’m old as shit and don’t have what it takes to hang with the greats in WCF anymore, because all I’ve done over the last two years is hold more gold than anyone else on the roster. I have proven that I can still win the title belts. I’ve proven that I still come out on top against the best and worst of the roster.
At XIII, you have your work cut out for you, FPV. I’m coming in there with the sole thought and purpose of ending you. I will not be coming in there to just simply pin you in front of everyone. I’m coming at you with the intention of inflicting pain and humiliating you in front of everyone. I will start with you and then I will destroy Doc Henry and Seth Lerch, and then the biggest bitch of you all, Logan. The other week on Slam when Lerch interfered causing you and Logan to win, you should have let the whole thing end there and just walked away from this battle with me.
The Team of Treachery wasn’t quite that smart and decided to attack me again. You couldn’t just let things die out, you wanted to prove who was the dominant force in WCF. ToT, not Gravedigger, right? The problem is you’ve really pissed me off now. Oh and I’m sure Oblivion didn’t like his night to be ruined like you did. He had just finally defeated me and had this huge night of celebrating planned and you all came in and ruined that.
The Team of Treachery is really proving to not be all that smart at all. This Friday, we’re going to go one-on-one in a Last Man Standing match. That’s going to be two in a row this week for me. I will put you through more hell than you’ve ever been through before. I can guarantee you that I will not be losing two Last Man Standing matches in a row. Both of us are going to walk in, I will be the only one walking out. Roy Speede, you better pray that I leave you enough of Super FPV to fight at Aftermath.
