- - -The following are the views and opinions of Scoops Callahan and he alone. In no way do these opinions reflect the opinions or views of Seth Lerch or any members of the WCF Staff- - - Welcome ladies and gentlemen to The Weekly Scoop. I, as some of you may remember, am the one and only Scoops Callahan, Ace Reporter. It's been nearly a year since I've delivered my last edition of The Weekly Scoop to you, my always beloved readers, and I felt it was high time for me to return and once again come at you with the raw voice of the people as I tackle each episode of Slam and every PPV, and give you my honest opinion on all the hot topics. You're going to see the return of the things you loved, like my honest review of the previous show, my feelings on the upcoming show, the always entertaining mailbag and of course my own personal awards. But you're also going to see some new things that I'm sure you're going to love. Now with all that said, what do you say we get the ball rolling and dive right into the fun.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Scoops' Recap: Timebomb Xavier Laroux defeated Kira SakazakiAs anyone who remembers me knows, there's nothing that I like more than seeing the next wave of talent get a chance to show what they can do on a big stage. With that said, I was disappointed to see how quickly this match ended. Granted, there was outside interference with a masked individual (on a side note, what's the over/under on how many "masked men" we see in 2012) coming to ringside and causing the distraction, but nevertheless I was still disappointed as I was eager to see what these two rookies could do in their first PPV appearance. I can only hope that in the future we get to see a rematch that isn't ruined.Tek/Eric Price/Nic Daniels/Steeltoe Joe vs Gage Gannon/Alex Bankmanship/Jason Fear/Buzzsaw Bundy in a "You're Fired Match"We go from one of my favorite types of matches to one that I despise. There is no feeling worse than to be fired from your job, especially one you love, and to have it done on television is simply horrible. This may look on paper like a match, but it's nothing more than 10 minutes of Survival and unfortunately for Gage Gannon and Alex Bankmanship, they couldn't beat the clock. This easily could have been a normal 4 on 4 match and everyone could have had a good showing, but unfortunately someones ill will toward The Society has resulted in two quality talents being let go.Kendrick Masters and Tim Vegas defeated Amazing AlexNot too sure why this was a handicap match and not made into a tag team match (plenty of people on the roster and management has a thing for making random tag matches), but nevertheless it was. Amazing Alex tried valiantly to get revenge on the two men that attacked him the previous week on Slam, but in the end the numbers game finally caught up with him. Of interest is what happened after the match was over. Masters turned on Vegas and aligned himself with Don DeBeers, who was at ringside during the match. Why the quick switch from Vegas to DeBeers? And what will Tim Vegas have to say about the stab to the back? Could we see Vegas and Amazing Alex team up to face their now common enemy...? I'm interested to say the least.Zombie McMorris defeated Jay Price, Nathan von Liebert, Don DeBeers and Joel Hall in a Clockwork Orange House Of Fun MatchWow. That was all I could utter after the Clockwork Orange House Of Fun Match ended. In what was being billed as "Jay Price's Match", it was Zombie McMorris who walked away the victor after pinning the man who helped bring the match to WCF in 2009. The oddsmakers, and myself, had Price as the favorite to win and get the threepeat, but it was the newcomer who's been under some people's radar who can now claim that COHOF is his match. I defiantly feel as though some interesting things are going to happen as a result of this match. Jay Price has to be fuming over his loss in his match and you have to expect he's going to want a rematch. Will Zombie McMorris give him one? Or more importantly, will Seth Lerch give him one? Also, where does Zombie McMorris go from here? Maybe a Hardcore Title match one day? I'm expecting big things from Zombie McMorris, let's hope management feels the same way.Roy Speede vs D-Day for a shot at the WCF US TitleNot too much to say as the match never happened. Earlier in the night we saw D-Day and Speede brawling in the parking lot before D-Day put Speede through the windshield of a car. No word yet on Speede's condition, but we have learned that D-Day has become the default #1 Contender for the US Title.Greenfever/Switches The Clown defeated Chris Avery/Logan to retain the WCF People's TitleIn a match that could have been featured on The Twilight Zone, we saw Greenfever...or Switches I think....defeat Chris Avery....or maybe it was Logan...to retain the People's Title. (Is anyone besides me lost?) On paper this would have been one of my favorite matches of the night, but watching it and seeing how much Seth Lerch involved himself in the match just ruined the experience for me. Introducing Dr. Heill and bringing him to ringside, naming himself the referee and then putting Shannan in an enforcer role was just too much and took away from what could have been a great match. Add in the fact that by putting Shannan in that position he was risking her safety, and you can see why so many people are not fans of Seth Lerch at the moment. One can only hope that Seth's involvement in this feud is going to come to an end soon and just maybe we can see a rematch that isn't tainted.Johnny Reb defeated Doc Henry in a TLC MatchIn another installment in the feud that's lasted almost as long as the Hatfield's vs The McCoy's, Johnny Reb walked away the victor...only to find out that he won yet another match versus his former tag team partner. The match in itself was everything you could expect from a TLC Match: Exciting, Entertaining and at times Brutal. But eventually enough is enough and this thing is going to have to end. We've seen Street Fights, TLC Matches and one time there was even a fake bomb involved. What's next? And will the next match finally be the last match?Brad Kane and Mr. FPV defeated Night Rider and Jeff Purse to win the WCF Tag Team TitlesCount me as one of the many that were shocked when Mr. FPV revealed that his replacement for Roy Speede was Hall Of Famer and former World Champion Brad Kane. We hadn't seen Kane in months, nor had we heard much from him during his time away, and to see him return for a run at the Tag Titles was exciting to say the least. The match in itself was entertaining with some nice back and forth work and good chemistry between the new teammates of Kane and FPV. I'm looking forward to the expected rematch between the teams in the near future.Gravedigger defeated Oblivion to retain the WCF Hardcore ChampionshipBrutality. Sheer Brutality. I've seen and I've covered a ton of hardcore matches in my time as a writer, but this match had things I've never before seen. A can of baked beans? Lighting a table on fire using a match and flatulence? All that was missing from that sequence was a toilet seat. These two guys put on a show for those of us that love this style of wrestling, much like I expected. And after seeing what happened after the match I don't expect that this is the last we've seen of this feud.Jonny Fly defeated Corey Black to win the WCF World TitleThe next stage in the evolution of WCF is finally here and it is being led by the new WCF World Heavyweight Champion, Jonny Fly. I've been watching Fly since the day he debuted and I've never stopped being impressed by what this kid is capable of. When he won the Television Title I told my fellow writers that he was going to be shooting up the proverbial ladder in no time, and look at where we're at just a few months later. Watching him stand tall, World Title in hand after just pinning the legendary Corey Black, was awe inspiring. To think about all the men that have held that title, and then to realize just how quickly he made his way to the same spot as all those legends, you realize just how special of a talent Jonny Fly is. With that said, I expect Corey Black to get a rematch and I expect the two of them to put on a five star match. Losing to someone still new by time standards cannot be sitting well with the Hall Of Famer, and I expect Black to push strongly for his rematch clause.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Scoops' Top 5 Wrestlers Of The Week #1. Jonny Fly - Won the WCF World Title by defeating Corey Black #2. Gravedigger - Retained the WCF Hardcore Title by defeating Oblivion #3. Brad Kane/Mr. FPV - Won the WCF Tag Team Titles from Nightrider and Jeff Purse #4. Johnny Reb - Defeated Doc Henry in a TLC Match #5. Zombie McMorris - Won the Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match by pinning Jay Price. The Scoopys Match Of The Week Jonny Fly vs Corey Black for the WCF World Title
Champion Of The Week (recognizing the champion that impressed me most this week) Gravedigger
The Up and Comer Award (recognizing that one talent that may or may not be on anyone's radar now, but will be soon) Zombie McMorris
The Foul Taste Award (recognizing that person who made you sick to your stomach this week) Seth Lerch
Quote Of The Week (recognizing the quote that made you laugh, cry, scratch your head or anger you the most) "Surely you'll agree with me, that when you're buttfucking a hot-dog adorned transvestite, you've pretty much given up on dignity." - Greenfever/Switches The Clown "The Twinge Of A Giggle"- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Inside Scoop This week, due to lack of knowledge of the return of The Weekly Scoop, I wasn't able to secure anyone on the roster for an interview. Therefore, this week's edition will not include "The Inside Scoop". Look for a hard hitting interview in Issue #2!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A Look Ahead At... Slam March 4th, 2012 Live from Reading, Pennsylvania
United States Title Match D-Day vs Mr. FPV One week removed from seriously injuring Roy Speede before they were set to determine the #1 Contendership for the US Title, D-Day is getting a chance at the US Champion for the belt. D-Day's legacy is rooted in the US Title, and many look at him as being the favorite, but Mr. FPV is no slouch. The US Champion, and also one half of the Tag Champions, has been on a roll which includes winning the US Title from D-Day himself.
Scoops' Prediction: Mr. FPV retains in the match of the night.
Television Title Tournament Matches In order to find two competitors to fight for the newly vacated Television Title at Explosion, Seth Lerch has set up a 16 Person Tournament. 8 matches this week will whittle the tourney down to 8 next week, 4 the following week and then finally 2 to fight at the Explosion PPV.
Scoops' Prediction: Winners this week will be Kaylyn Evans, Nathan von Liebert, Zombie McMorris, Kendrick Masters, Jason Fear, Kira Sakazaki, Amazing Alex and Alexis Moore.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Scoops' Mailbag Normally this is where I would read the mail that you the fans send me and answer any questions you have, but because this is the first issue back, nobody knew to send in any mail. No worries, Issue #2 will be filled with the good stuff you love.
For those of you who wish to submit questions for next week's issue, all you have to do is send me an e-mail (PM) with the following:
Your Name (Make one up if you like): Location (Make one up if you like): Subject Of Question (The topic of your question): Your Question Is?:- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thanks for reading this week's edition of The Weekly Scoop, I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Look forward to Issue #2 next Wednesday, and don't forget to send in your questions. Have a great day everyone, Callahan Out.

- - -The following are the views and opinions of Scoops Callahan and he alone. In no way do these opinions reflect the opinions or views of Seth Lerch or any members of the WCF Staff- - - Welcome once again to The Weekly Scoop, I of course am the one and only Scoops Callahan, Ace Reporter. Last week saw the return of my weekly article, and based on the feedback that I've received you're quite happy to see me back. This week I aim to please as I debut the new segment I promised you last week, The Inside Scoop, along with the return of the always popular and entertaining Mailbag. So what do you say we jump on into the fun.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Scoops' Recap: Slam! Television Title Tournament Normally readers I would go into in-depth detail about each of the matches, but with so many matches going on and with only one not being part of the Television Title Tournament, instead I'm going to give my thoughts on the Tournament itself. First, a look at the winners themselves:
Alexis Moore Steeltoe Joe Kira Sakazaki Tek Kendrick Masters Xavier Laroux Nathan von Liebert Kaylyn James Evans
Now last week I gave my predictions for the tournament, and I'm ashamed to say I barely broke even. Steeltoe Joe, Tek and Xavier Laroux were apparently motivated after reading my predictions and went out and pulled off wins, most notably Laroux who upset Zombie McMorris fresh off his big victory at Timebomb.
Moving on to what I took from watching these match-ups, I maintain my stance that this is still Kaylyn Evans tournament to lose. That's not meant to sound like an insult to the other competitors, but with Kaylyn being the most experienced and being a former Television Champion, she has to be looked at as the favorite. And in my opinion, she showed just why she's my pick to win after her showing against Joel Hall, all while showing little to no ring rust.
As for who can give Kaylyn the most trouble in the tournament, I'm looking at Alexis Moore and Nathan von Liebert. von Liebert shouldn't come as too big of a shock to those who've been watching him, the kid's good. Yes, he has stumbled a bit in recent weeks, but last week I saw a glimmer of the former Nathan that burst onto the scene and captured everyone's attention. As for Alexis, I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw from this young lady in her debut, and I feel as though we've only seen a fraction of what she can do.
FPV defeated D-Day In what was the only match of the night to not be part of the tournament, we got a chance to see Mr. FPV successfully defend his United States Title against arguably one of the best US Champions in history. Not to pat myself on the back, but I called that one! However what I didn't call is the post-match attack on the champion by one Roy Speede. The cowardly attack was luckily ended when Brad Kane ran out to protect his tag team partner, but the message was clearly sent by Speede: I'm back. Count me as one of the excited members of the WCF Universe looking forward to see what happens next.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Scoops' Top 5 Wrestlers Of The Week #1. Mr. FPV - Retained his WCF United States Title by defeating D-Day #2 (tie). Kaylyn James Evans, Nathan von Liebert, Xavier Laroux, Kendrick Masters, Tek, Kira Sakazaki, Steeltoe Joe, Alexis Moore - All advanced to the second round of the WCF Television Title Tournament. (May seem like a cop-out, but I honestly had a hard time justifying leaving any of the winners off the list.)
The Scoopys Match Of The Week Mr. FPV vs D-Day for the WCF United States Title
Champion Of The Week Mr. FPV
The Up and Comer Award (Tie) Xavier Laroux and Alexis Moore
The Foul Taste Award Roy Speede

The Inside Scoop As promised readers, I proudly present to you my newest addition to The Weekly Scoop, "The Inside Scoop". Each week you'll get to see me interview a talent from WCF and ask them the hard hitting questions. This week, for the grand debut, I went out and tracked down one of the all time greats. A Hall Of Famer. A Living Legend. A Multi-time champion. Arguably one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots. And dare I say it, possibly the most entertaining commentator in history. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you my interview with...Mr. Bobby Cairo.
Scoops Callahan Bobby, you've been called by many as one of the greatest talents in the history of the WCF. Throughout your career many have always looked up to you and at times modeled themselves after what you've done. What are your feelings when you hear such praise from your peers?
Bobby Cairo It's very fulfilling to receive that kind of respect from my peers, especially those that I've competed against in barbaric combat. Frankly, it validates many of the decisions that I've made in my career. One decision that I made a long time ago was that I wasn't going to be just another face in the crowd. I wasn't going to do things the same way that they had been done time and time again. I didn't want to wear a mask and fly around the ring. I didn't want to pretend to be the living undead. I didn't want to guzzle beer and flip people the bird. I didn't want to be the all-American hero with the twenty-four inch pythons who tells people to take their vitamins and say their prayers while sticking a needle up his ass. I didn't want to copy what had been done in the past. I wanted to carve out my own legacy in this business. I wanted to bring something new to the table, something fresh, something genuine. That's one thing that people have to give me credit for, whether they love me or hate me-- I'm real! I'm not some wannabe. I'm Bobby Cairo.
Sometimes being Bobby Cairo has entailed kidnapping people, committing acts of extreme violence, and even sexual depravity. Yet when it's all said and done I've risen above the fray and established myself as one of the truly unique personalities in WCF history. People have responded to that, for one reason or another. I've always told the truth, even when it was unpopular, hell-- especially when it was unpopular. I've always stood up for what I believed in. I've always busted my ass between those ropes, and that's really what it all comes down to. I've earned respect with my performances through the years because people know that facing me in that ring is one of the hardest things that they will ever have to do. I'm a ferocious competitor, and that's a trait that I've passed onto my pupils. When you wrestle Chad Evans or Phillip Baines, for example, you're wrestling Bobby Cairo. Not too many people have enjoyed wrestling me through the years, but they damn sure respected me when the match was over.
S.C. You've had many, many moments in WCF that will forever live on in the annals of history. You've competed in almost every match type there is, and you've competed against some of the biggest names in this industry. Do you have a favorite match that you can recall?
B.C. I don't know about a favorite match. The matches that generally stand out in my mind are the ones where I felt like the walking dead by the end of them because I had pushed my mind, body and soul to their absolute limits against an opponent that hated my guts and wanted to kill me. Of course some matches stand out to me as being sheer spectacles and along that line I'm reminded of competing in WAR in 2007. It was a truly remarkable experience. For my money WAR is the biggest match in this business. It's not just a big battle royal where you can eliminate your opponents by tossing them over the top rope-- you actually have to pin or submit them. That's where the strategy becomes very interesting. Who do you go after? Who do you align yourself with? If you see someone who's about to be pinned or submitted, do you let it happen because that's one less foe to worry about, or do you save him because you think he can help you make it deeper into the match?
WAR is the ultimate chess match and the ultimate test of mental and physical endurance in professional wrestling. I almost won the fuckin' thing too, back in '07. It came down to Skyler Striker and myself at the very end of the match, but I couldn't quite finish off that sneaky little Australian bastard. I had him dead to rites on more than one occasion that night, but somehow he found a way to beat me. Of course I did not accept defeat lying down. No, no. Certainly not. That match set off what would arguably become the most memorable and acrimonious feud of my career, and it would ultimately peak with me kidnapping Skyler's prepubescent daughter Jade and holding her captive in my basement for several weeks.
S.C. And how about a favorite opponent?
B.C. It's funny, when I think about all the opponents that I've competed against through the years there's one guy that sticks out in my mind above all others, even though he was a real piece of shit as a human being and he never really accomplished anything of note in his career. I'm talking about Lawnmower Jones. I had a feud with that guy that lasted for months on end back in '07. The whole thing started off over something real stupid. See, I had interrupted Jones when he was being interviewed by Hank Brown before his match at One that year, in 2007. Frankly I didn't know who Jones was nor did I care. I had been away from WCF for several months and I knew that the fans who had shelled out their hard-earned cash to buy One wanted to see me on their TV screens. I wanted to give them that thrill, but Jones wasn't having it. He got all butt-hurt when I cut into his face-time, so I told him to stick that lawnmower of his where the sun don't shine!
What I didn't realize at the time is that the lawnmower I had insulted was in fact Jones' wife Lonnie. That's right. The man was married to a lawnmower! Before I had time to process this bizarre revelation, Jones viciously attacked me right there at the interview spot. Fortunately for me Jones' match was first up on the show that night, Jones being the curtain-jerking jobber that he was, so I didn't have to wait long to exact my revenge upon the mad Scot with the fetish for all things lawncare related. During the match I viciously assaulted Jones, costing him the win, and then I kidnapped his wife, the lawnmower named Lonnie. This was a truly awesome achievement that signaled to the entire wrestling world that Bobby Cairo was back with a vengeance!
Without getting into all of the unsavory details of what transpired over the next few months, let me just say that I would go on to defeat Jones at Till Death Do Us Part to win legal custody of Lonnie, before viciously pummeling her into a coma the following week on Slam. I again defeated Jones at WAR to eliminate him from the WAR match and then defeated him yet again at Payback in the finals of the Television Title Tournament to begin my reign as the greatest Television Champion in WCF history. Why is Jones my favorite opponent? Quite simply, I destroyed his life and used him as a pawn to establish myself as the most evil man in wrestling at that time. Yes those were some glorious times, hahaha.
S.C. If you were to wrestle just one more match, a match where you could pick the time, the place and any opponent you like, who and where would it be?
B.C. Oh that's easy. If I were playing the booker man I would book myself against my wife Emily Hotchkiss-Cairo, Megan Kane and Kaylyn James Evans in a one-on-three hot oil wrestling extravaganza, with me in a thong and the ladies wearing only their bras and panties. The objective? Defeat your opponent(s) by stripping them of their skimpy attire. The venue? None other than Fort Suma Sanchez, with Gill as the special guest referee. The time? Well gee how about next week on Slam? I'm up for it, in more ways than one. You want ratings, Seth? Book that shit! The great thing about this match is that if I win then I'm winnin' and if I lose... then I'm still winnin'! But then again that's Bobby flippin' Cairo in a nutshell, ain't it?
S.C. Since the last time we saw you compete against Logan at One, we haven't seen or heard much from you. What have you been up to as of late?
B.C. Ah yes, my match with Logan. I must say that it was Incredibly disappointing to lose a match that I had trained so hard to win and talked so much shit leading up to. AH WELL. C'est la vie, or 'such is life' to the native English readers out there. I have to give credit where it's due-- I brought my A-game into that match and it wasn't quite enough to get the job done. Logan was the better man that night. I nearly killed him and yet he still took me to Connector City and got the one-two-three. And if there are any doubters, any fuckheads who question my motivation for taking that match, NO I wasn't there for a paycheck. I haven't needed a paycheck since my triumphant return from incarceration at that black site prison in New Mexico more than two years ago.
I didn't fight Logan because I wanted or needed the money. I fought Logan because I wanted to beat his fucking ass and get a victory over the so-called greatest superstar in WCF history. I came up short in the latter of those two goals, but losing that match certainly wasn't the end of the road for Bobby Cairo. You say that you haven't seen or heard much from me since One? I guess that means that you don't watch CNN, Fox News or MSNBC? Good for you, neither do I, but if you did watch then you might know that I'm running for the United States Senate in my home state of Connecticut. That draconian douchebag Joe Lieberman is retiring and I'm running as the nominee of the Libertarian Party to capture his seat.
Of course running for the Senate is a difficult task and it consumes most of my time these days, between media appearances and campaign functions. That's why you haven't seen me in WCF since One, nor have I been able to contribute much time around Crimson House Dojo, the wrestling/MMA school that I own and operate in Hartford.
S.C. The current roster in WCF is ever expanding, why at this very moment it's the largest it's been in quite some time. Looking at the current batch of wrestlers, which newer talent do you see sometime in the near future rising up to the top?
B.C. I'm not an ignorant man but I have to plead ignorance on this one. My schedule has not afforded me the opportunity to watch much WCF programming over the last couple of months. I did catch Timebomb and I have to say that I'm not at all surprised that Jonny Fly walked out of there as World Champion. From the earliest promos and matches that I saw from Fly when he first showed up in WCF I knew that he had a bright future. I'm happy to see that he's achieved his potential by becoming World Champion and now I'd like to see him defend the belt and go on to become one of the all-time greats in WCF history. I think that he has the talent and the confidence to achieve that.
As I said I haven't been able to pay real close attention but I have heard from industry people that I trust that WCF's roster as it stands today is the deepest that it's been in years, and I'm delighted to hear that. I'm not part of WCF right now but it will always be part of me and I want to see it thrive for many more years. Frankly speaking 2011 was a lean year for WCF, but hopefully 2012 can be the beginning of a new boom period.
S.C. And on the subject of the new talent coming into the WCF, I myself remember a time when you were the mentor for a young Chad Evans, who quickly rose to become a World Champion before he left WCF. Do you see yourself perhaps taking the mentor role again for one of these newcomers? Or perhaps for someone unknown to us at this time?
B.C. I have no such plans at this time, Scoops. I've trained aspiring wrestlers and mixed martial artists for several years now, first at my Ultra Nova Dojo facility in Brooklyn and more recently at Crimson House Dojo in Hartford. Of course many of these young men and women go on to have successful professional careers. I've managed two of them, Chad Evans who captured the WCF World Championship as you mentioned and Phillip Baines who won the WCF Classic this past year before moving on to a successful career in Hollywood. I try to be there for my pupils in any way that I can, which includes providing them with training and advice, but I can't see myself taking on the sort of hands-on mentor/managerial role that I've taken in the past. Right now I really don't have the time to commit to it, and frankly I'm just not sure that it interests me anymore.
S.C. You yourself are of course a Hall Of Famer. Who do you expect to see join you in the ranks of the all time greats in the next year? Two years?
B.C. Of course I did predict that Jay Price would be a future Hall of Famer during my own induction speech in 2010. I stand by that prediction. I think that Jay has all of the necessary tools to rise through the ranks in WCF and eventually establish himself as an all-time great. Frankly, I'd like to see him win a World Championship. I think he's overdue for it at this point. I truly expected Price to win the WCF World Championship in 2011 and that didn't quite work out. Jay fell short of that goal. Still, he's young, he's talented and he's shown that he has killer instinct at times so it's certainly not too late for him. I just think that he needs to stop fucking around and put the pedal to the metal. It's time to light a fire under that ass and start putting motherfuckers in bodybags. Hell, old ass Corey Black won the belt, you can sure as shit do it, Jay!
As for other future Hall of Fame inductees, I do think that Johnny Reb is highly deserving. You're talking about a three-time World Champion and one-half of arguably the greatest tag team in WCF history. Plus he won WAR in 2011 and having a WAR victory on your résumé elevates you to a status that few have ever attained in this sport. Certainly it's not a question of whether Reb will be inducted, but rather when.
Odin Balfore is also a worthy candidate. He's already captured the WCF World Championship twice, despite being in WCF for less than one full year, and he had one of the more memorable and dominant reigns as World Champion that I can remember seeing in WCF. I think he's surefire HoF-material when the time comes.
Oh yeah, there's also some guy named Torture who's not in the Hall yet but... who the fuck cares about that guy, right?
S.C. During your time as a commentator many remarked that you brought the level of entertainment up to new highs. Have you ever thought about maybe returning to the announce table, even if it would be sporadic?
B.C. Announcing was a fun experience while it lasted and I'm thankful for the opportunity. It was a joy working with the likes of Zach Davis and Shannan Lerch, two true professionals. I don't have any plans on returning to the announce table in the foreseeable future, but I would never close the door on it. The great thing about announcing is that you can do it just as well when you're fifty or sixty as you can when you're in your twenties, perhaps even better because of the added experience. Is it possible that I will return to announcing at some point before I'm assassinated by my business and/or political enemies? Absolutely.
S.C. And finally, a question that many including myself have on their minds when we think of the name Bobby Cairo...Will there ever be one more run for him in WCF?
B.C. I cannot see myself making a full-time or even part-time return as a wrestler, but a one-off appearance is certainly possible. You have to understand my position on this: I have no financial incentive to return to wrestling. Nor am I motivated to come back and win more championship belts. I've been there and done that. I'm also not one of these glory hogs that needs to cling to the limelight because that's all I have in my life. I think that the torch should be passed from one generation to the next. I was part of a great class of wrestlers that debuted in WCF in 2006, a group that included the likes of Skyler Striker, Jack of Blades, JJ Biggs, Danny Vice, Mike Ragnal, Ellis and even that dreg Lawnmower Jones. We were the new wave of talent that defined WCF during our time, and I'd like to see today's crop of WCF superstars have a similar impact.
I'm rooting for the current generation. I have no interest in trying to hold back the newer stars. I don't give a shit about protecting my spot in the pecking order. That would be greedy and short-sighted of me. It would hurt the long-term health of the very company that I've helped build. If you do see me competing inside of a WCF ring in the future it will be because it's a match that piques my interest on a deeply personal level, such as my match against Logan at One.

A Look Ahead At... Slam March 11th, 2012 Live from Reading, Pennsylvania
Gravedigger/Zombie McMorris/Mr. FPV vs Oblivion/Night Rider/Jeff Purse A crazy thrown together tag team match for the main event courtesy of Teddy Lerch will see the continuation of the ongoing feud between Hardcore Champion Gravedigger and the number one contender for his title, Oblivion. This match isn't under hardcore rules, but if these two get their hands on each other you can expect to see some blood shed. Meanwhile, Night Rider should be looking to make a statement against FPV after the AOD lost the Tag Titles to FPV and Kane. And finally, for some reason Zombie McMorris and Jeff Purse are in this match. Who knows what they'll do, but it'll damn sure be entertaining.
Scoops' Prediction: Gravedigger gets the pin for his team after either Seth Lerch or MS-13 get involved to distract Oblivion.
Jay Price vs Johnny Reb The most random match of the night has the possibility of being a Match Of The Year contender. A PPV quality match-up featuring Johnny Reb, a former World Champion and Winner of WAR X, up against a man who has become a shell of himself after once being pegged "The Future Of WCF", Jay Price. Some of the older fans might remember the night these two went to battle in 2010, a match in which Price won. But a lot has changed since then, and many wonder if Price can still get it done against the bigger names in WCF. And, even though I hate saying it, you can count this reporter as one of those people.
Scoops' Prediction: Johnny Reb gets the pin.
People's Title Match Buzzsaw Bundy vs Tim Vegas vs Switches The Clown Switches has been unstoppable since winning the People's Title, mowing down challenger after challenger. Buzzsaw is a mountain of a man and Tim Vegas is hungry for a win so he can show the world he's better than what we've seen so far.
Scoops' Prediction: Switches wins....unless he gets disqualified for killing someone.
Nic Daniels/Eric Price/Darkest Evil vs Lyger/Bryan Worthy/Famine of the Vile I honestly would have preferred to have seen Lyger, Worthy and Vile debut against each other in a triple threat match than see them subjected to this. The Mulisha haven't proven to me, or anyone else for that matter, that they can back up their tough talk.
Scoops' Prediction: Worthy gets the pin for his team.
Gina Caldwell vs Ayria Adams vs Sarah Twilight Somebody in recruiting was obviously working overtime recently, because WCF brought in a crop of new talent, including these three lovely ladies. Most don't know too much about any of them, but this reporter did his job and dug up the goods on all three. And what did he find? Enough to impress the crap out of him.
Scoops' Prediction: Sarah Twilight wins in a Match Of The Week contender.
Television Title Tournament Matches The Elite 8 will become the Final 4.
Scoops' Prediction: Winners this week will be Kaylyn James Evans, Xavier Laroux, Kira Sakazaki and Alexis Moore.

Scoops' Mailbag Your Name: Tucker Location: Fort Dodge, Iowa Subject Of Question: Wrestlers Your Question Is?: So, with Johnny Fly reigning over the WCF as the new World Heavyweight Champion, who on the roster do you think has the best shot of dethroning him?
Your Name: Tom Zenk Location: Robbinsdale, Minnesota Subject Of Question: World Title Your Question Is?: Now that Jonny Fly is the world champion and Corey Black is going to be out of the picture for a while, I was wondering who do you think will have the best shot at taking the world title from Jonny?
Answer: Well it seems as though two of WCF's many fans had the exact same question burning a hole in their minds. Well Tom and Tucker, if Corey Black is indeed going to be out of the World Title picture for a significant amount of time, then I must say I'm stumped on who is going to be his next challenger. If you take a look at the roster, the names most people would point to are all currently wrapped up in their own business. Mr. FPV is already dealing with being the United States Champion and one half of the Tag Team Champions, so you'd assume he's out. Gravedigger is the Hardcore Champion and is in the middle of dealing with Oblivion, so both of them you'd have to think are out of the picture. Johnny Reb is still stuck in his ongoing feud with Doc Henry, so that's one more former World Champion out of the picture. Now granted, we still have some time until Explosion, so anything could change. But even then I personally don't know if anyone can take if off of Fly right now. He's the hottest commodity in WCF and to be honest, he looks unbeatable. However, if you want an answer right now, then I'm going with one right out of left field: D-Day.
Name: Andrew Wayne (NumberOneWCFUniverse@yahoo.com) Location: Washington DC. Subject: TV Tourney Winner Prediction Your Question Is?: In your opinion, who's gonna win this Television Title Tournament?
Answer: I stick by my earlier prediction of Kaylyn James Evans. Too much of an experience advantage, especially when it comes to being a former Television Champion. She knows what it means to hold that title and she knows how to win it.
Your Name: Joe "Bucky" Dangle Location: Montgomery, Alabama Subject: Da South Your Question Is?: When dem WCF boys gon stop entertainin dem damn Yankees and come down south?
Answer: Well Bucky, that's a great question. I myself have been wondering why all of the WCF's shows have come from either the WCF Arean in Reading, Pa or the Wells Fargo Arean in Philadelphia, Pa. In the past WCF toured all over the USA, and sometimes even in other countries, so to stay in PA only is quite odd. Seth Lerch himself is from PA, and he chooses the venues, so perhaps there's some sort of bias going on. Honestly though, I don't think any of us will ever know the actual answer.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - That'll do it for this week's edition of The Weekly Scoop. I again want to thank Bobby Cairo for doing the interview, and for anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of talking to him one on one, I strongly suggest you do. Next week will of course bring Issue #3, and with it, another hard hitting interview with another WCF Legend. Who is it? You'll have to wait and see. As always, I do hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing. Be sure to send in your questions for next week and have a great night. Callahan Out.

These are very entertaining reads in addition to being great primers on recent WCF history.

- - -The following are the views and opinions of Scoops Callahan and he alone. In no way do these opinions reflect the opinions or views of Seth Lerch or any members of the WCF Staff- - -
Welcome once again to The Weekly Scoop, I of course am the one and only Scoops Callahan, Ace Reporter. I want to wholeheartedly apologize for my recent absence. I was in the midst of dealing with an illness when I learned of a death in the family. I hope that everyone can accept my apology due to the circumstances, and I promise you a terrific edition of The Weekly Scoop this week. With that, let's jump right on in.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Scoops' Recap: Slam! Kid Phantasm defeated Benjamin Atreyu, Kris Slade and Jayway In the opening match the debuting Kid Phantasm was able to outlast three others making their debuts and get the pin. I'll be the first to admit I'm a bit of a sucker for the new guys, and after watching this match, I got a bit excited for the next generation of WCF talent. I'm expecting big things from Kid Phantasm and Kris Slade in the future.
Bo Stoned defeated Alexis Moore and Tim Vegas Mr. Stoned returned from a brief hiatus to pick up his first win in WCF by defeating two struggling wrestlers in Moore and Vegas. I had originally pegged Moore as one to watch, but now I'm starting to believe that Bo Stoned may be even better than I previously thought.
Ayria Adams defeated Tek, Don DeBeers, Xavier Laroux and Gina Caldwell While everyone remembers the night that Sarah Twilight came to WCF, it seems as though fewer and fewer people remember that on that same night Ayria Adams came to WCF. After losing to Sarah in her debut, Adams showed everyone why she was equally hyped upon her debut. Expect Ayria Adams to move up the ladder quickly, very soon.
Zombie McMorris defeated Doc Henry As Doc's problems continue and his losses keep mounting heading into his match versus Johnny Reb, Zombie McMorris is continuing to impress. The guy just keeps on winning, and it's not just against the bottom of the barrel rookies. With the announcement of the Internet Title, I expect McMorris to be a favorite for the inaugural champion.
Nic Daniels and Eric Price defeated Kaylyn Evans and Roy Speede Quite easily the shocker of the night, and maybe the upset of the year. On paper this looked to be a walk in the park for Speede and Evans, but Mulisha members Price and Daniels showed that on any given night, anything is possible.
Steeltoe Joe defeated Kira Sakazaki In the first of two Semi-Final matches in the WCF Television Title Tournament, Steeltoe Joe got the pin over the upstart Sakazaki. I'll admit I had Sakazaki moving on, but Joe proved that he's not the pushover some think he is. I like the win for Joe this week, but next week may prove to be too much.
Nathan von Liebert defeated Kendrick Masters In the other Semi-Final match in the WCF Television Title Tournament, one half of my predicted finals match advanced. I had Kaylyn Evans versus Nathan von Liebert penciled in the day the tournament was announced, and much like my NCAA bracket, an upset occured early on. I look for Nathan to win the tournament and the belt at Explosion.
Sarah Twilight defeated Famine Of The Vile, Bryan Worthy and Lyger For the first time in WCF history, we may see a female wrestler hoisting the WCF World Title above her head. We've had a few successful females grace the WCF ring, Anastasia Petrova and Kaylyn Evans come to mind, but none of them have ever reached the main event level this quickly. Two matches into her career and Sarah is already a #1 Contender for the World Title. That simply can be summed up with one word: wow.
The LadyKillerz defeated Brad Kane and Mr. FPV The LadyKillerz finally had a match in WCF and they did not disappoint. The unlikeliest of teams was able to show why they decided to team up as they picked up a huge win over Kane and FPV and walk away with the WCF Tag Team Titles. Kane and FPV looked to be a dream team when they formed and won the gold, I myself thought they were set for a long run. But in the end the duo of Crazy and Drunk pulled off the win. The question now is: How well can the new tag champions co-exist with their match at Explosion looming?

Scoops' Top 5 Wrestlers Of The Week #1. Sarah Twilight - Won the right to face Jonny Fly for the WCF World Title at Explosion #2. The LadyKillerz - Won the WCF Tag Team Titles #3. Nathan von Liebert and Kendrick Masters - Advanced in the WCF TV Title Tournament #4. Nic Daniels and Eric Price - Pulled off the possible upset of the year by beating Roy Speede and Kaylyn Evans #5. Ayria Adams - Won the right to face Odin Balfore at Explosion in his return to the WCF ring.
The Scoopys Match Of The Week The LadyKillerz vs Brad Kane/FPV for the WCF Tag Team Titles
Champion Of The Week Jonny Fly
The Up and Comer Award Sarah Twilight
The Foul Taste Award Roy Speede
Quote Of The Week "ME! Jonny Fly. The World Champion. The most dominant wrestler in the history of the WCF. The man that all of you insignificant fucks are looking up at. Now play that redheaded skanks music and let’s get this clusterfuck started." -From Slam

The Inside Scoop This week for The Inside Scoop I bring you a one on one interview with...Jay Price.
Scoops Callahan Jay, you've had a number of monikers that you've gone by. "The South Street Menace". "The Nightmare". "The Most Dangerous Man In WCF". And all of them but one you gave yourself, with the exception being "The Future Of WCF". When you first arrived in WCF you called yourself The Future, but Seth Lerch really hammered the point home when he himself proclaimed you to be "The Future" of his company. Do you feel as though you've lived up to that nickname?
Jay Price Yes, yes I do feel as though I lived up to the name. Sure, you can listen to the so called experts who will be quick to point out the lack of a World Title on my resume, but I am just as quick to point out the fact that my first year in WCF ranked up there amongst some of the all time greats. I was a rookie in this business when I won the WCF TV Title and went on to have arguably the greatest reign in the title's history. I was a rookie when I went one on one with Logan, "Mr. WCF" himself, and I pinned him for the three count at One. I was also still a rookie when I won the Hardcore Title, when I helped the Team of Torture become one of the most dominant stables in wrestling history, and when I tied the record for most eliminations in a WAR Match. Yes, I've never won a World Title, but you look at the list of names of people that I've pinned or submitted, you see the Legends, the Hall of Famers and the former World Champions, and then you tell me that I didn't live up to the name. I was the fucking future of this company up until the point when I decided that it was time to start living in the present. And that's what I'm doing now Scoops, I'm living in the present where I'm on the fast track to the top.
Scoops Callahan Last night you and your partner Greenfever won the WCF Tag Team Titles. Now you and he are set to collide at Explosion for the WCF People's Title. What does this match mean for your partnerships? More importantly, your friendship?
Jay Price Greenfever and I will always remain close friends, which is why he and I make for such a great tag team. Switches, however, is the problem. I hate clowns. I hate them with a fucking passion. And Greenfever...when he, pardon the pun, switches into this crazed clown persona...I get the chills. So when I go into Explosion to face Switches for the People's Title, I plan on liberating my good friend from this almost soap opera like identity crisis and ridding WCF of Switches altogether. And then, with Switches gone and Greenfever back 100%, he and I will continue to rock out with our cocks out as we run all over the WCF.
Scoops Callahan It was recently announced by Corey Black that at XIII you will face Jonny Fly for the World Title. That is, if he can retain against Sarah Twilight at Explosion. You and he have been having a mini war of words on Twitter and a lot of people are excited about this match. Your thoughts?
Jay Price Jonny Fly is a bitch. Simply put. A war of words Scoops? Really? The extent of the Twitter conversations has been Jonny Fly proclaiming that he refuses to show up to XIII on the basis that he's too good for the show, and me calling him out for his lack of testicles. The guy is a no talent, gutless bitch that knows his fifteen minutes of fame is seconds away from expiring. He'll be lucky if he makes it past Sarah Twilight at Explosion. And if he does lose the strap, I'll still make his bitch ass tap out en route to becoming the #1 Contender.
Scoops Callahan Recently you've openly discussed the fact that you have a drinking problem, however, you seem more proud of it than wanting to get help for it. Why is that?
Jay Price Because AA is for quitters. Price out.

A Look Ahead At... Explosion March 25th, 2012 Live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Sarah Twilight vs Jonny Fly for the WCF World Title The hottest rookie in history (both figuratively and literally) is going one on one with...well the other hottest rookie in WCF. Sarah Twilight exploded onto the WCF scene, winning her first two matches and the #1 Contendership. Jonny Fly worked his way to the top in one of the fastest, most impressive runs ever. This reporter has no idea how this match is going to go down, but it could be one for the ages.
Scoops Prediction: Sarah Twilight scores the upset
Oblivion vs Gravedigger for the WCF Hardcore Title This feud has seen it all, and now you can add stretchers to the mix as these two will once again battle it out for the Hardcore Title, this time in a Stretcher Match. These guys are both big time heavy hitters who love to inflict pain. Can either of these two live long enough to put the other on a stretcher?
Scoops Prediction: Gravedigger
Doc Henry vs Johnny Reb One of the longest running feuds in WCF is finally coming to an end...hopefully. I'm all for great feuds, but this one seems to have lasted for just too long. That's not to say I haven't enjoyed the matches these two have put on, but it's time for Reb to move up and back into the World Title picture, and for Doc to get back into a successful singles career in the mid-card.
Scoops Prediction: Johnny Reb
Roy Speede vs Mr. FPV for the WCF United States Title In what I'm billing "another jealous partner turns on the more successful partner", Speede and FPV are about to collide for the US Title in a Falls Count Anywhere match. FPV just lost the Tag Titles to The LadyKillerz and Speede has been a thorn in his side as of late. But FPV's recent run cannot be forgotten, despite the recent setbacks.
Scoops Prediction: Mr. FPV
Jay Price vs Switches The Clown for the WCF People's Title Tag Team Champions battling it out for the People's Title. This would normally sound like the beginning of the breakup for a team, but in this case that might not happen. Price and Greenfever are close friends. Price and Switches The Clown are not. Price has made it clear that he is going to be fighting Switches, not Greenfever, and that the two will remain friends and a team afterward. This reporter has his doubts about that, but there is no doubt that this will be a terrific match.
Scoops Prediction: Switches The Clown
Nathan von Liebert vs Steeltoe Joe for the WCF Television Title The WCF TV Title Tournament is finally coming to an end, with a bit of a surprise match-up in the finals. Nathan von Liebert was pegged by many to make it this far, but Steeltoe Joe has to be classic Cinderella story of the tourney.
Scoops Prediction: Nathan von Liebert
Ayria Adams vs Odin Balfore Ayria was impressive in her win to secure this match, but her opponent is one of the most dominating men in WCF history. Odin Balfore, a two time World Champion and WAR winner, tore through WCF and made it his house before he abruptly left due to injuries. Now he's back in WCF and ready to make another impact. Ayria will have her hands full and a win would cement her place as a rising star.
Scoops Prediction: Odin Balfore
Zombie McMorris vs Bo Stoned vs Benjamin Atreyu vs Tek for the WCF Internet Title Seth Lerch announced that he was introducing a new title in WCF, the Internet Title. This title is all about who is the best trash talker in WCF and these are some of the best WCF has to offer. The question this reporter has is, are all these titles truly necessary?
Scoops Prediction: Zombie McMorris
Nic Daniels and Eric Price vs Night Rider and Jeff Purse The new tag team champions, The LadyKillerz, need opponents for their first title defense, so this match was made. The Mulisha picked up a huge win over Speede and Evans last week, but they've had a string of bad luck it seems prior to that. Rider and Purse were one time tag champions, but since then haven't found their way back to the title scene.
Scoops Prediction: Night Rider and Jeff Purse
Bryan Worthy vs Kid Phantasm In an exhibition match featuring two of WCF's new up and comers, look for a glimpse at the future of WCF's talent pool.
Scoops Prediction: Kid Phantasm
Jayway vs Gina Caldwell Both of these two are looking to pick up a win and change their fortunes.
Scoops Prediction: Gina Caldwell
The Dark Passenger vs Jack Slash vs Kris Slade Two newcomers debuting against a newcomer that was unsuccessful in his own debut. Again, look for a glimpse at the future of WCF's talent pool.
Scoops Prediction: Kris Slade

Scoops' Mailbag Unfortunately there was no mail this week. :-(
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - That'll do it for this week's edition of The Weekly Scoop. I want to thank Jay Price for doing the interview, it was...interesting to say the least. Next week look for another great in-depth interview. As always, I do hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing. Look out for Edition #4 next Wednesday night as I will be taking a loot at the fallout from Explosion. Be sure to send in your questions for next week and have a great night. Callahan Out.
