"Pick your poison, brought to you by a drunk Seth Lerch."
Visual feed follows the statement and viewers find themselves watching Nathan von Liebert. The rookie is sitting on the ground of the WCF arena, back against the wall. He watches the camera.
"A concept where my opponent for Payback picks my opponent for this evening and I do the same for him. A concept that is neat because it makes Corey and I wonder who we would fight. Instead of preparing for one person, we have to prepare for anyone on the roster. But I think I have it figured out. I took all week considering exactly who Corey would throw at me. And after it all, I've narrowed the list down tremendously.
First I merely had to slash off the names that Corey would never throw at me. Not because I'm that good, which I am, but because those people would have no shot against me. So men like Tek, Yukon Jack, any of those GLS would never face me. Alex Bankmanship will not fight me because Corey does not know what he's made of. Joel Hall would not fight me this week because He would never have a shot. Gage Gannon would not be fighting me because he was not any trouble against Corey at XIII, so why would he throw me up against him?
And then the list got smaller by knocking off men who have lost to me before. Why would Corey choose anyone to face me that had lost to me before. Nightrider lost to me. Mr. FPV lost to me. Oblivion lost to me. Jeff Purse lost to me twice. Three times if you count before WCF. But people didn't see ACW so they only know this. I've beaten you and have not beaten me."
Nathan pauses.
"So the list gets smaller and I still haven't finished. Men like Odin Balfore and Jay Price are both skilled wrestlers and would be good opponents for me. But they're both injured men so why would Corey put them up against me? Odin especially. But Jay had enough energy to post a promo so he might just have enough energy to fight. But I'll be ready for him if he does.
And Jonny Fly is a possible opponent for me but I don't think Corey would choose him either. I'm almost certain Jonny won't be fighting me this week either, so why even bother with me.
And what about the scary Switches? The clown who lost to Fly? Another person that Corey wouldn't choose to fight me. And if he did, I would win against him too.
What about D-Day? He is a big opponent in WCF. The United States Champion who didn't have to win a match to get the title. But as people remember, I've beaten D-Day before. So why would Corey give me someone I've already beaten him?
How about Doc Henry or Johnny Reb? Both men are great men when they work with the other, but they don't really like each other. I just don't see Corey picking either of these men to fight me. But I'm ready for either of them if they do fight me.
How about MS-13? Out of those three, I think only Gravedigger would be a challenge for me. Adrain didn't get past the first round of One and I don't think Chester has actually won a match. And why would Corey send Gravedigger to me? GD has beef with the champ so why would I be given the chance to beat up on him before he does? After Payback when I win that title, Corey can have GD. But I'm ready for GD if he is the one I fight.
Now Roy Speede is a possible opponent I could face. He did beat Odin Balfore. But then he lost to two men I've already beaten. He hasn't done much to prove that he could beat me. But he too is a possible opponent, so I shall be ready for the pretty boy if he faces me.
And finally Chris Avery. Out of everybody I would choose you to fight me. You would be my toughest opponent this week and I wouldn't doubt if Corey choose you to fight me. And I would love to fight you. So whatever the case, I hope I do fight you."
Nathan stands.
"Whatever happens this week, I'm not worried. If I lose, I lose. Because it is not this week that matters in my career. Next week is when everything matters. Next week I'll be fighting the man who I deserve to fight. After next week, I will be where I need to be. And after I win the title, this little week can be forgotten. They will merely remember this statement: "Throw the possibility of anyone on the roster against Nathan von Liebert and he might just stumble because there was just too much to prepare for. But throw up one person that Nathan knows he'll be fighting and he will win." Just look at my last seven matches.
I have to say this was a bad beginning to Revelations but I promise to ending would be so much better. And what a perfect time to end the final book at Corey's final week as World Champion. Whoever I face this week, have fun. If I win, who predicted anything else. And if I lose, you just issued my third loss in my career. Who cares? Because even if I do lose, I'll be fighting for the championship and you won't be.
My first ever loss in my career was because I had to prepare for seven other possible opponents. So I do have trouble when I don't know exactly who I'm facing. But I know who I'll be facing next week, and that's all that matters. And you, whoever you are, will return to your rightful place under me after this week."
