[glow=red,2,300]~ Angel of Death ~ [/glow]
Some people have seen it all and done it all, Enjoying all of the pleasures that life has to offer. Spending the summers on the beach and winters on the slopes, Not a care in the world. Others haven't been quite that lucky. Some had to Dig, Crawl, And Scratch their way through life. Fighting every step of the way for each inch of ground they gained! They are the ones unfortunate enough to not be brought into this world by a rich family. For them, Life was always a struggle just to get by. You learned from an early age how to fight and defend yourself. It was either that or you wouldn't be around for long!
Night Rider was one of the latter group. His Father worked in a factory during the week and for a local wrestling company on weekends. Yet they barely made enough to get by. His Mother, Bless her, Had mental issues that kept her from contributing anything. The family lived in the poorer part of town. He could still remember the neighborhood to this day. On his 5 block walk to School he would pass 3 bars and 2 Churches. In between were houses in various state of disarray. 10 - 15 year-old kids stood on each corner with different 'goods' for sale. After dark the bars would be full and fights would pour out into the street regularly. The Police were always around about the time everything was already over. By then someone was either dead or close to it. Don't let your house catch fire because it would burn to the ground before the firemen got there. It was a rough existence, But it was one that taught Night Rider how to survive and how to take care of himself against some of the toughest in the hood!
The Sun hurt his eyes as he stepped outside on a bright Monday morning. He looked around at what he had now, All that he had accomplished since the days of his youth. Most of it from hard work and a lot of sweat and blood. He stood on the second floor balcony that overlooked the back yard. There was a fenced in pool with a Hot Tub and enclosed Shower there. A huge Privacy Fence surrounded the entire yard. Beyond the fence was a massive forest with a Lake and the mountains in the distance. The House itself was a two story structure taken from out of the old south. Six huge Pylons graced a large porch with a porchswing attached on either side. He had sure come a long way! Yet, All of this didn't happen overnight! Just like his career in the WCF! Some said his career would be finished after 'One' and yet here he was, Still breathing and still enjoying a beautiful day. He walked over to a small table with two chairs and sat down in one of the chairs. He took a drink from the coffee he had with him and closed his eyes, Enjoying the warmth of the early morning sun on his eyelids.
After finishing his coffee he stood up and walked through the double glass doors into his large bedroom. He walked over to the closet, opened the door and stepped inside. The light coming on automatically as the door opens. He picked out his outfit for the day, Walked into the changing room and got dressed. He would be expected at the post-One press conference Angel Fyre had set up for him in advance. Knowing him, He would probably be late. He wasn't unhappy with his performance at One but he wasn't happy about it either! He knew he had better in him and he would bring it out no matter what it took. It was a new day, With new challenges and new opportunities. He had made a good showing at his first 'One' and knew that it wouldn't be his last.
He checked the Gold Watch on his wrist. Almost ten, He still had enough time for a quick swim.........
Later that afternoon
The constant ringing from his cell phone had awakened him from his nap. He had swam a few laps and decided to soak up a few rays when He fell asleep. He answered it on the 250th ring.
Night Rider: Yeah, What the hell do you want?
Angel Fyre: What in the hell do you mean what do I want, Where in the Hell are you? You were supposed to be here over an hour ago!
Night Rider: Oh Shit, I guess I fell asleep. I'll be on my way in a minute.
Angel Fyre: You better be because they won't wait forever to do this.
Night Rider hung up the phone and placed it on the table beside him. He got up, Showered off the sweat real quick and got dressed. He was on the road in less than 15 minutes. After about another ten minutes of driving he reached his destination. Angel Fyre was waiting for him when he walked through the front door and led him to where the crew was set up for the Press Conference. Bulbs flashed as he entered the area and had a seat at a table with what seemed like hundreds of microphones sitting on it.
Hank Brown: Night Rider, Glad you were able to make it. First let me congratulate you on a fine performance last night at 'One'.
Night Rider: Fine performance, Hell! I didn't win the match. How fine is that? I fought a good fight and ended up getting beat. Fine Performance?
Hank Brown: You made a good showing for yourself either way! It's clear that you have established yourself as one of the up and comers in WCF. How do you feel about that? Also, Any other thoughts on your match last night?
Night Rider: Just making a good showing isn't going to cut it in this business, Hank. I do want to congratulate NvL on a well deserved win. I may not like the guy but I have to give credit where it is due! he had a hell of a night. I also want to congratulate CD for winning the World Championship. Hell, The guy beat fuckin Odin man! What a night it was.
Night Rider then got a very serious look on his face and spoke clearly into the microphones.
Night Rider: Make no mistake about it NvL, You may have gotten the best of me this time but our paths WILL cross again. Now, I am just waiting for my next opponent. Or whatever the future has in store for me. If I have learned anything in this business, It's that you can't dwell on the losses just like you can't relish in the victories. You have to keep moving forward one step at a time. I will be more than ready for next week, Just like I always do. I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere!
Night Rider stood up from the table and made his way back out of the building and into the bright sunlight.
