The video cuts onto a taxi pulling up to the curb in front of a building. The taxi driver gets out of the car and runs around to the other side and opens up the back door. Out steps the imposing figure of WCF wrestler Hector Rodriguez. The taxi driver holds his hand out for his payment. Hector looks down at the man and tilts his head sideways as if giving him a "are you serious" look. The door to the building opens up and out walks Roger Hunt's beautiful assistant, Annie. She walks over to the taxi driver, slaps some money in his hand and then looks at Hector with a disappointed look. She turns around and waves for him to follow.
Once inside the building, Hector realizes not much has changed. Annie walks across the reception room to her desk, hits a button on the intercom and then talks into it.
Annie
Mr. Hunt, Hector Rodriguez is here to see you.
The door to the back office opens up and out steps Roger Hunt, the man who introduced Hector and Carlos to another agent of Hector's, a Mr. Don Bradley. Roger Hunt walks over and shakes Hector's hand with a huge smile on his face.
Roger Hunt
Hector! Mi amigo! How have you been, my boy?
Hector just nods and shrugs. Annie is giving Hector a look. Roger notices it and shrugs it off.
Roger Hunt
Don't pay her any attention, she was kinda big on your former manager, Carlos Estrada.
Roger gestures to the back room.
Roger Hunt
Let's go back to my office and talk about the situation we have here.
Hector follows Roger Hunt into his office. Hector spots Don Bradley standing up watching a television. Don turns around when he hears people coming into the room. Hector crosses the room and shakes Don's hand excitedly.
Don Bradley
Hey, buddy. Glad to see you, too, Hector. You doing alright?
Hector shrugs.
Don Bradley
Ok, look. Let's sit down.
Don gestures to one of the chairs and sits down beside Hector. Roger Hunt goes around in front of his desk and sits on it, facing Hector and Don.
Roger Hunt
Alright, so, you put Carlos Estrada in the hospital. Don said he came over and talked to you the other day about what happened and why. He said that even he didn't get the full story of what's going on. Something about you not liking where your career was going with Carlos. You felt he was holding you back. All those frustrations and feelings boiled to the surface when he tripped you last week on Slam and nearly cost you a match that was clearly in your favor. Am I close to what was going on?
Hector hangs his head a little and nods.
Don Bradley
Ok, well that's fine. You're the superstar. You're the one pulling in the big bucks. You are the one wrestling in the ring. I've already got the gears spinning and done some things since Slam. I visited Carlos in the hospital.
Hector looks at Don Bradley.
Don Bradley
He'll be out in a few weeks, you did a number on him, but that's fine. He gladly signed away your contract to me. I went and talked to Seth Lerch about it, too. He signed off on the contract transfer and made it official. As of right now, I'm your new manager.
Hector claps a hand on Don's shoulder.
Roger Hunt
However, this situation is only temporary. Don's too busy with other talent here in WCF and elsewhere to be your manager every week. We've made some calls and we have some potential managers for you to meet in the coming weeks. We're hoping to be able to get one of them out here before Slam this week. If you like this first person, then you'll debut your new manager this week.
Don Bradley
Our deadline is at the next pay-per-view, TEN. Speaking of TEN, you have a chance to be in a title match against Ace Slaughter for the United States title.
Hector points at himself.
Don Bradley
Yes, you, Hector. BUT...you have to win the match this week. The battle royal you're in with Tank Reaper, Doc Henry, Ryan Daniels, and D-Day. You've been in the ring with all of these men except for Tank Reaper.
Roger Hunt
Yeah, this Tank Reaper....he's a big fella. Bigger than you pretty much. There's no way you can hit him with a Toluca Slam. The thing to remember with Tank Reaper is that he has problems with focus, problems with anger issues. His emotions tend to get the best of him in his matches. Plus with this being a battle royal, you're likely to not be the only one going after him. He's probably going to get ganged up on. That doesn't mean he should be taken lightly as if he can control his anger and focus it into pure power like you usually do, he could easily walk out of the match as the number one contender to the US title.
Don Bradley
Yeah, then there's Doc Henry. One half of the WCF tag team champions. You've tagged with this guy before at a PPV and you've also beaten him in the ring before, too. The same can also be said about D-Day who you have also wrestled against before and tagged with, too. Finally, there's also Ryan Daniels, a man you've faced before in your battles with ToT.
Roger Hunt
Look, anything can happen in these types of matches. The winner of the match will go up against the US champion, Ace Slaughter, at TEN. The losers will likely be thrown into throwaway matches or might even not make it on the show at all. So this is important, but the thing is everyone else is going to underestimate you. They're going to think that without Carlos Estrada in your corner, that you're at a disadvantage. They're already thinking you don't have anyone in your corner, but after this airs, they'll know you have Don Bradley as your manager for the time being. Don Bradley isn't some schmuck off the street, this man has been the agent and manager of some of the greatest wrestlers to ever grace the WCF ring. Even some of the current talent have been in contact with him numerous times.
Don Bradley knows so much about each and every wrestler in WCF. You listen to everything he tells you. You do everything he tells you to do. He knows their weaknesses. He knows how to exploit those weaknesses. He knows how to cause you to be the sole survivor in that match this week. Carlos might have been a smart man, but Don is brilliant compared to him. Hector, you are more than capable on your own of winning this match. Despite what others have said, are saying and will say, you don't even need a manager. A manager is just a great addition to you as a wrestler. Don and myself have managed and been agents for many wrestlers here in WCF, but the thing is, we don't do it for just anyone. We do it for people who we know will go far in this business. The fact that we're helping you out like this is proof to anyone watching this that you're not just some random Joe climbing into the ring each week.
You are Hector Rodriguez, the Mexican Machine. You are the next United States champion. You are the future WCF world champion. A lot of wrestlers have come into WCF and called themselves the Future of WCF, the thing is you're not the Future of WCF. You're the Past, Present and Future of WCF. WCF just didn't know it, but you're going to show it now exactly who you are. I have to agree with your feelings on the subject of Carlos Estrada. Don't get me wrong. He's a great guy, but he wasn't the greatest match for you. We will find the greatest match for you as a manager. Carlos was holding you back. We're going to get someone who will push you forward, push you to the top of the mountain here in WCF. 2010 is the year of Hector Rodriguez. You proved that last week when you defeated The Machine. You will prove that this week by being the sole survivor in the battle royal match. Ace Slaughter, watch the battle royal this week on Slam. You're not watching who you will face at the pay-per-view, no you will be watching who is going to be the next United States champion here in WCF.
