Noble Savage Roleplay
Monday Night Slam 8/13/2018
Match: Night Rider Vs. Noble Savage
"A Savage Darkly"
Wordcount: 4,120
---------------------------------------------
Clouds are beginning to gather in the otherwise empty sky. There isn't a sign of moonlight, but the dim street lights make up for her absence. We see a long open dirt road that leads to a lively city in the distance. Coming toward our direction, from said city, is a yellow minivan. Dirt picks up from the hot ground as we see this minivan get closer. We can now see the word "Taxi" in bold red letters on the hood of this minivan. It drives right past our view, leaving behind it nothing but smoke and dust. A single drop of rain water falls onto the heated road, turning to steam on contact after the vehicle passes. We now fade to the inside part of the taxi.
The person driving the cab, is a young Caucasian male with a sharply outlined five o'clock shadow. His eyes, however, seem glazed over as his eyelids battle anxiously against his weariness. His bottom lip, hanging open, carelessly drips drool onto his lap, but it is difficult for us to immediately recognize if he just hasn't noticed, or if he simply does not care. The camera pans back to the backseats, phasing behind the protective glass that separates the passengers from the driver. We see the stiff upper lip of Lady Abernathy as she sits sternly with her focus on the road ahead. In the third row of seating, the camera floats over and sees Noble Savage laying down on her face, almost like she just fell on Family Guy. Her left hand is over her back, and her right hand is hanging touching the floor. Her left leg is straight, but her right leg is bent at the knee. The camera conveniently zooms slightly closer to get a rare shot focusing on her firm round ass, which happens to be slightly larger than most would think. But suddenly, her leg twitches, and the camera widens back out to see her full body.
Noble Savage groans with discomfort and turns over. She then sits up and looks around. She sees the almost deserted roadsides and gathering clouds, followed by mild distant lightning.
Noble:
"Are... We in Utah yet?"
Lady Abernathy raises her leather-gloved right hand without looking back at Noble Savage. She then points forward and Noble Savage squints her eyes in confusion. The camera floats out of the minivan and we see now that the slight rain drops have multiplied and there is aight drizzle. About a mile ahead of their current position, and to the right side of the road, is a ridiculously large building. It seems abandoned and uninviting. The closer we get the more we notice that this isn't just an old mansion or castle, it is the decaying remains of a medical complex.
The taxi gets to the front and stops abruptly short, right at the front steps of this rotting facility. The minivan doors slide open and Noble Savage comes stumbling out, falling on the ground flat on her face, scraping dirt on her chin. We see the big boot of Lady Abernathy just behind Noble Savage, making it apparent that Savage did not exit the van out of her own accord, but was quite literally kicked out instead. The minivan doors slide shut and the vehicle peels away.
Noble Savage gets on her knees with her head slumped over, then looks up at the huge building in front of her. She wipes the bit of blood that slightly drops from her chin and stands up, slapping the dust off herself and wiping the dirt.
Noble:
"Where the hell did you bring me now, Lady?"
She begins to walk up the front steps as the rain begins to fall harder. She holds on to the railing, but it falls apart when she does. She shrugs and continues to walk forward. On the very top of the front entrance there are a few letters that reads:
"WEST V LEY CITY MED CAL COMPO ND"
Noble Savage notices a light flickering above the door.
Noble:
"West Valley City Medical Compound...? I heard about this place... It's been shut down for years. Why would there still be electricity here?"
Savage:
"I don't see no electricity."
Noble:
"The light under the sign. It wouldn't be doing that."
Savage:
"Blame the storm."
Noble:
"What storm?"
A single flash of lightning now brightens her face up and it is almost immediately followed by the rumble of thunder. The heavy rain now becomes heavier still and it is pouring. Noble Savage's face is overtaken by a cheek to cheek smile, exposing teeth with childlike glee.
Savage:
"That storm."
Noble:
"Great."
Noble Savage now pops her collar to cover her neck from the rain and holds it while she scurries on over into the front door of the facility. She sees that the glass door has no handle and taps her open palm around it a few times to try to find a way to open it.
Noble:
"Dammit. Why would she do this? Why would she drop me off here and not even tell me how to get in?"
Savage:
"It's an automatic door. But there's no power. Oh, thought you said there was electricity? What's wrong?"
Noble:
"Shut up and find a way in."
Noble Savage now looks back at the rusty railings she had passed and follows them with her eyes all the way to the one that connects to the building, which happens to be right beside her. She giggles playfully and kicks the rail end violently, knocking the piece off. She now picks up the cylindrical object and swings it with force at the glass door. The door immediately shatters into a million pieces and Noble Savage laughs as she drops the metal pipe. She steps over the partial jagged glass bottom half of the door and into the main lobby and her Cheshire grin falls victim to an angered state.
Noble:
"What could possibly be so funny?"
Savage:
"Not funny... FUN... You need to get that stick out of your bum every now and then. Have some fun, will ya?"
Noble:
"Fun... Is that your definition of fun? Breaking things?"
Savage:
"What's yours? Sitting around and sleeping?"
Noble:
"Shh! I think I heard something."
Noble Savage stands still, as if trying to pick up more sounds than the storm outside would allow. After a few seconds of not hearing anything, she let's out a sigh of disappointment.
Savage:
"Where to, fearless leader?"
Noble:
"I'm trying to trust my instinct. I know Lady Abernathy wouldn't bring me here unless there was something to seek."
Savage:
"Try asking the front desk."
Noble:
"This place is abandoned. Not even roaches live here. What makes you think I can ask a receptionist for anything?"
Savage:
"No harm in trying."
She now walks over to the rusted and broken reception area where there is a glass window with a metal speaker on it. There is a small bell next to the reception window, and she taps it to ring. The ringing of the bell is weak and barely resonates, almost as if the inside of the bell is full of debris or old dust. Noble Savage takes an angry deep breath, then rolls her eyes and taps on the window three times.
Just as she takes a step back, the light behind the window turns on. Noble Savage gasps and then scoffs out a smile. Another rumble of rolling thunder hits, and with that last flash of lighting, the long dark hallway to her right gains a lit panel in the far end. The next panel lights up as well, and Noble Savage now looks to her left. She sees that the other hallway is also lighting up section by section.
It gets to the point now where the hospital is active and vibrant with workers and patients. She even sees that there are people watching TV in the waiting area, which was dark and dusty just a few seconds ago. She glances back at the door she broke to get in and it is now intact. Just as she admires the surreal restoration that just took place, the reception window opens.
Receptionist:
"How may I help you?"
Slightly startled by the voice of this person, Noble Savage turns back to face her. The happy smile of the receptionist doesn't sit well with Noble Savage, who hesitates to acknowledge her.
Noble:
"We uh... We're sent here by Abernathy?"
Receptionist:
"I'm sorry, who?"
Noble:
"Lady Abernathy, You know, the Unspoken Paramour of the Seventeenth Circumve--
Receptionist (interrupting):
"No, I know who Lady Abernathy is. But you said 'we'... Yet you're alone. Who's 'we'?"
Noble:
"Oh... I uh... I'm sorry... I didn't realize I was doing that again."
Savage:
"What I meant to say was... There's something here that Lady Abernathy wants me to see."
Receptionist:
"And what is your name?"
Savage:
"Brandi Savage."
Noble:
"I mean, Noble. Brandi Noble. Sorry about that. Savage is a uh--
Receptionist:
"Pet name. I know."
Noble:
"Pet?"
Savage:
"No this lady did not just--
Receptionist:
"Your elevator is down the hall."
Noble:
"OK...? So, are you gonna tell me where to go, or...?"
Receptionist:
"You've never visited before, have you?"
Noble:
"No. No, I haven't. Can you just stop being so damn cryptic and tell me what the hell Lady Abernathy sent me here for already?"
The receptionist's facial expression changes from welcoming to angry. Strange veins begin to grow into her face from her neck and throat as she begins to speak. Each of her following words fills her mouth with blood and her teeth slowly rot as her speech intensifies:
Receptionist:
"You will go to the elevator down the corridor and press the fourth floor. Once you arrive at the fourth floor, do not get out. Press the second floor instead. Once at the second floor, let the doors close and press the sixth floor. When the doors open at the sixth floor, quickly press the second floor again. When the elevator doors open at the second floor, again, do not exit. Press the tenth floor, but do not leave. You will have to press the fifth floor. When the doors open at the fifth floor, a woman will enter the elevator. Do not speak to her, do not look at her, do not even talk to yourself while this woman is in the elevator. She will stand beside the number panel, but you must press the first floor without making contact with her. The elevator should then go to an unmarked floor. The woman will get off, and you are to follow her, without looking directly at her. She will lead you to where you need to be. Do not let anyone on the elevator, or the sequence will be ruined. You will find yourself right back at the lobby and you will have to start the sequence from the beginning."
Noble:
"Did you get all that?"
Savage:
"4-2-6-2-10-5-1...Got it."
Noble Savage takes a hesitant step back from the disfigured receptionist. She watches with slight disgust as a maggot falls out from the receptionist's nose. But she just shakes her head and walks away. She gets inside the elevator and presses the 4th floor just as instructed. The door of the elevator closes and the lights flicker a little bit.
Noble:
"Lady Abernathy has some weird friends."
Savage:
"Present company included."
Noble:
"Speaking of weird friends, you really don't know about this Night Rider guy?"
Savage:
"All I know is that he's a 1982 Pontiac Firebird, his name is Kitt, and he's owned by a man named Michael."
Noble:
"What... The hell... Are you talking about?"
Savage:
"Knight Rider."
Noble:
"No, that's not the Night Rider we're dealing with. This is a real person. But I don't get what his deal is."
Savage:
"Don't know anything about him. Couldn't help you there, sorry."
The elevator gets to the 4th floor and the door opens. A long, clean hallway is in front of them with nurses and doctors walking about. Noble Savage presses the second floor button and the doors close.
Savage:
"The way I see it is, I am new to that place, so obviously I don't know everyone. But I'm not there to make friends. I'm there to hurt people."
Noble:
"I'm there to lose you."
Savage:
"Well, that's just too damn bad isn't it? What doesn't kill me makes me stronger..."
Noble:
"Night Rider's gonna kill you."
Savage:
"The Night Rider? Don't make me laugh. All he's gonna do is bounce around that ring like the big fat sack of flesh that he is. Probably crush you in the process, and allow me to take over as intended."
The elevator doors open and it is another hospital hallway, well lit and maintained. Noble Savage presses the number 6 on the panel and the doors close.
Noble:
"You don't know this guy. He's not going to be after me, he's coming for you. He is no joke, he is a death angel, he is an architect of anarchy, he--
Savage:
"Has no idea who the hell he's dealing with. Face it, Brandi, he's just as clueless about me as you are about him. The way things are going now, he might as well be as dead as the front desk lady downstairs."
Noble:
"She wasn't dead."
Savage:
"She wasn't real."
Noble:
"Then why are you still doing what she told you to?"
The elevator door opens up and there is an office setting in front of them, but it is completely empty. Noble Savage presses the number 2 on the elevator buttons.
Noble:
"Didn't you do 2 already?"
Savage:
"Yes. It's 4-2-6 and then 2 again."
The elevator door closes.
Noble:
"Look, all I'm saying is I know with a severe enough beating, you can finally shut the hell up. Night Rider is a big man, so he is probably the one who can do it."
Savage:
"Whatever. It's your funeral."
Noble:
"Not mine. Yours. You would understand if you knew what you were up against."
Savage:
"Well, I don't know him. So he's just going to have to get into that ring and show me what there is to know. Because as far as I'm concerned, our first match resulted in a loss, because of you. Because you thought you had what it takes to take over on your own, and you failed miserably. This time around, I am in the driver seat, and you are just going to have to step back and watch me daughter this Night Rider."
Noble:
"I didn't lose because you took a step back... I lost because I took it easy on that shiny kid. I told you, I thought if I took it easy, the beating would be guaranteed. And I thought I'd be freed from you, but--
The elevator doors open and we see long dark hallway with flickering lights. The lights in the elevator flicker as well, but they stop when Noble Savage presses the number 10 on the elevator keypad. The doors close once again.
Noble:
"Who am I kidding? You're right, I failed."
Savage:
"But I won't."
Noble:
"I'm kind of hoping you do."
Savage:
"You need to stop fighting me. Your life will be a lot easier if you just give in. Just leave that big guy to me, and you'll see."
Noble:
"He has a son, you know."
Savage:
"I don't care."
Noble:
"You should. Because this isn't some game to him. He is fighting for more than just himself. And that spells very bad news for--
The elevator door opens again. Now it's facing a long corridor with carpeted floors and white doors on either side. At the far end of the corridor we see business-suited man walking while looking at his watch and holding a briefcase. When he looks up, he sees the elevator door has opened and begins to walk faster.
Businessman:
"Oh, thank God. Hey, hold the elevator!"
Noble Savage quickly begins to repeatedly hit the "door close" buttons with desperate force. The doors slide shut before the man even gets close. She now presses the number 5 on the panel with a grin.
Noble:
"Why didn't you let that man on?"
Savage:
"Because that wasn't a man. It would just ruin the sequence."
Noble:
"Oh... Right..."
Savage:
"You have anything else you wanna say before the next stop?"
Noble:
"Yes, actually. As I was saying, Night Rider is fighting for more than just fun and games like you. He's the real deal. You better be ready for what's in store for you at Monday Night Slam."
Savage:
"I'm not worried. You should be saying those words to him, not to me. He's the one who better be ready for me. And you know what they say, No one is ready for--
Noble:
"Oh, shut up, will ya?"
Savage:
"Haha! Make me..."
Noble:
"Soon enough. Night Rider has your number."
Savage:
"Well, he better have the number to 999 after I'm done with him."
Noble:
"First of all, it's 9-1-1, and second--
Savage:
"Not in the UK. It's 999."
Noble:
"We're in Utah."
Savage:
"Isn't Utah the sa--
The elevator doors slide open now, and there is an empty lobby with the number 5 on it. Noble Savage does not look outside of the elevator, but lets her eyes shift around as if trying to figure out what's happening. At that precise moment, a woman with long black hair, who has her back turned to the elevator, side steps into the front of the door, slightly startling Noble Savage.
The woman, who is wearing a black skirt and a red zip-up hoodie, then takes two long steps backward into the elevator, then turns and presses her back against the corner next to the number panel and we now see that she has Asian features.
Noble Savage does not look at her, or acknowledge her. She reaches past this woman's face, and presses the number 1 on the elevator panel. Noble Savage takes a step back and patiently waits while looking down at the floor.
The elevator now bumps. The lights flicker, and the elevator begins to shake. Among the stumbling and shaking, we can hear gears and humming noises. Suddenly the commotion stops and the elevator numbers begin to light up in fast sequence one after the other.
Noble Savage maintains her composure as the Asian woman covers her ears in fear and starts crying. The elevator doors open with the dinging of a bell sound. The Asian woman quickly spins out of the elevator and begins walking down the hall. Noble Savage starts walking behind her, but looking down at the woman's feet as her pace begins to be a faster and faster walk.
The Asian woman turns a corner and the lighting begins to dim. She then enters a room where the lights are flickering and buzzing. there is a privacy curtain surrounding a hospital bed, and the Asian woman rolls it to open it. There is an old man laying on the bed with tubes in his nose.
Next to his bed is a large bouquet of vibrant red flowers. The Asian woman begins to weep and sniffle as she grabs a small watering pot and begins to sprinkle it over the roses.
Old Man:
"You must be Brandi..."
Noble:
"Yes, and you are...?"
Old Man:
"I'm your adviser... And I see you've already met Elisa?"
Noble:
"Not exactly."
Old Man:
"That's right. Elisa doesn't talk much. She just periodically comes up her to look after her White Roses..."
Noble:
"White Roses?"
Noble Savage now looks at Elisa and notices there is blood pouring from the watering pot and not water. She also notices that the tears that Elisa gently sheds as she weeps are also blood.
Old Man:
"Yes... But enough about Miss Lam, let's talk about why you're here. Lady Abernathy told me you needed guidance. She sees great potential in you. She wouldn't shut up about you."
Savage:
"Lady Abernathy wouldn't shut up? Are we talking about the same Lady Abernathy here?"
Noble:
"I've never heard her voice in my life."
Old Man:
"Oh, her voice isn't something you hear... You feel it. And when she told me you were going to clash with the Angel of death, and that you were hoping to lose. Well, I just couldn't let that slide."
Savage:
"Lose? I ain't hoping to lose!"
Old Man:
"Then I wasn't talking to you, was I?"
Noble:
"I know..."
Old Man:
"I'm only laying here in my death bed because Lady Abernathy won't pull the plug. I was supposed to die in this very building many years ago before it was shut down. But Lady Abernathy won't allow me to go. She wants me to continue to bring life to her twisted ideas. You see, I was once like you. So young, and so confused. I became the Demon of Life for a reason, though. I brought life to many people, places, and things... Including this building, and... Including you, Brandi Savage."
Savage:
"Haha! No way. You're my father?!"
Noble:
"No. My father is Michael Noble. What this old man just said is that he created you."
Old Man:
"Precisely... I brought life to your dark side, my dear. And what the Demon of Life creates, no Angel of Death can unmake..."
Savage:
"Angel of Death? As in... Night Rider?"
Old Man:
"That is one tough man, I'll tell you that much. I wish I could go out there and help you. But I'm bound to this place. I am neither dead or alive, so I can't do much for you besides give you advice. And the best advice I can give you is... Don't expect this to be your exit strategy. This is no ordinary man you're going against. And as much as you'd like him to, he is incapable of 'Beating the Savage out of you'... So putting yourself in a losing position with this one, is probably the worst thing you can do. It will only bring about torment and none of the reward. Therefore, I implore you to reconsider. You mist smite him, before he smites you. Strike him hard, and strike him fast. Don't expose any weakness."
Noble:
"So, this time around... Whether I win or lose... There's no chance of Savage leaving."
Old Man:
"That's right. So fight like your life depends on it, my child of twin souls... Because this time, it does."
Noble Savage nods with a confused stare which quickly turns into an evil grin. The Old Man smiles at her, and then glances over at Elisa, who is still "watering" the roses.
Old Man:
"That'll be all for today, Elisa."
Elisa slams the watering pot down, then unzips her red hoodie. She takes off the top layer of clothing and then rips off the rest, leaving herself completely nude. She slaps her hands onto the wall and begins to crawl on it and up to the ceiling, where she enters an open vent in an unnatural bending manner. After looking up at Elisa's vent escape, Noble Savage looks back down at the bed and the Old Man is no longer there. The lights begin to flicker and the bright red roses turn into a grey ash. The whole room begins to decompose and Noble Savage finds herself sitting in the middle of a decayed and abandoned hospital room, with heavy rainwater falling from the sky through to broken ceilings.
Noble Savage looks up with a smile as the rain drops hit her face.
Noble Savage:
"Haha! Thank you! Thank you... And it's a New Moon tonight! Haha!! No lunar shine in the sky whatsoever, and even the stars hide behind the powerful rain clouds! The perfect setting to show Night Rider what a child of the Demon of Life can do to an Angel of Death...!"
Rumbling thunder can be heard in the distance as Noble Savage continues to laugh to herself and the scene fades to black.

The sectioned light panels continue their pattern of coming on and the lights now get closer and closer to her. A few more lights turn on and now the entire floor is brightly lit. Noble Savage looks around with a big smile on her face, and notices that a male nurse in the far hall comes out from a room and into another. A female nurse no walks up past the hallway, and is followed shortly by a doctor. A pregnant lady comes out of the bathroom and toward the elevator.
It gets to the point now where the hospital is active and vibrant with workers and patients.
