Determination.
Passion.
Risk.
Passion.
Risk.
The Book of eXtreme has always been a story of Michael X’s rise to the top of the WORLD. His goal, since day one, was to step into the WCF ring and become World Champion, but in over three years, he has yet to even come close to that dream. One match, one time, in all these years. One match, that Michael failed to reach his dream in. One match, Ultimate Showdown, July 25, 2015.
One match that has haunted the mind of Michael X. One match that has driven Michael more than anything in his career. He came close, he had a shot, and he wasted it. He failed. He was eliminated by a plethora of kicks from Pantheon and sent to the locker room to watch with the rest of the roster. To watch, like he wasn’t worthy of his spot in the match. A spot that he had to earn since he did not hold a championship at the time. A spot that he fought hard for, a spot that he wasted.
This was a different story. Plenty of time has passed since then and Michael X has patiently waited for his shot. He has stepped into that ring, week after week, doing everything that it took. He has stepped into that ring with gold on his mind.
He earned the Omega Championship. He earned the Hardcore Championship. He earned the Tag Team Championship. He earned four of the six infinity stones, and given the time, he would earn all six, but that wasn’t going to be an option. That wasn’t going to matter because Michael X was going to win the World Championship. Michael X was going to stand in the middle of that ring with the rest of the best wrestlers that the WCF had to offer, and he was going to stand above them. He was going to be superior. He was going to be THE guy.
Because, he earned it.

Ultimate Redemption
I
For almost the same amount of time that Michael X has been in the WCF, Dune has been there showing the world how dominant of a force he could be. In that time, Dune has become World Champion twice. Dune has been able to accomplish everything that Michael X wants, and deep down, Michael is jealous.
Michael X: I’ve stepped into that ring with Dune before,
A sly grin comes over Michael’s face.
Michael X: As the world seen last week when I ripped him apart as the show went off the air.
This was somewhat true, as the two men were brawling to end the show. They were pulled apart before either of them were able to do too much damage. But, in the World of Michael X, he was the unstoppable monster that left his opponents to rot in the middle of that ring, He was the best competitor that professional wrestling has ever seen. He was the future of WCF.
Michael X: And just as I walked out victorious the time before that, too.
Michael’s grin grows with every cocky sentence that spews from his mouth.
Michael X: The world thinks that Dune is going to walk out of Los Angeles with that championship around his waist? This world is even dumber than I thought if they think he has a chance at such a feat with the likes of the CHURCH OF SINGH in this match. Does the world think that somehow we’re going to allow anyone to take us out? That we’re going to allow anyone to make us look bad in there?
Michael laughs.
Michael X: Dune is the number one target in this match and if he thinks that he has any chance at making it out of this match with the ability to walk, with the ability to eat solid food, well, he’s got to rethink things here.
Michael X is HUNGRY. I’ve been waiting for this moment since I started my career. I’ve been fighting and clawing my way to this moment since the first time I laced up a pair of boots. I’ve been waiting for this moment since the day my WCF contract was finalized and I’m not going to let anything get in the way of that.
Stephen Singh, our GOLDEN GOD, wants that World Title back. A championship that was stolen from him by the #FALSEGOD. Who, was unable to get past the miserable Bonnie Blue to earn his way into this match. A championship that he rightfully deserves.
Kid Dynamo, one of the hottest up and coming superstars in wrestling, he could make waves by capturing that belt. He could skyrocket to the top of the world with just one simple victory. He could show the world that he is capable of anything that he wants to do.
The CHURCH should be the favorites to win this thing. All three of us have what it takes, but yet names like DUNE and TEO DEL SOL are thrown around as if they have a chance. Names like BONNIE BLUE? How many times do we have to put her name on a headstone? Singh and I humiliated her and Sanchez to walk away with their tag team championships, but yet, she still was gifted a spot in this match.
This is the competition? This is what the Church has to work with? Undeserving pieces of shit. Teo Del Sol has wasted every single opportunity he has ever had in this company, and time after time, there he is in the big matches. There he is in the main event. There he is in the spotlight. Bonnie Blue, the same story. They’re the same person, losers that everyone seems to love. LOSERS that will find themselves on the losing end once again as The Church run through them quicker than you can remember the last time they mattered.
Ultimate Showdown is bound to become a showcase from The Church. We’re going to walk in there highly decorated and we’re going to walk out holding the top championships in this company. We’re going to walk out with all eyes on us, with everyone’s jaws on the floor. We’re capable of so much, and yet, we all can’t leave with that top strap. We all can’t be lucky enough to grasp that brass ring.
We all can’t be, me.
Michael’s grin, slyer than ever before as he imagines himself holding that World Championship high above his head, grows with every word that exits his mouth. This match means everything to the King of Violence, and there isn’t anything that is going to stop him from achieving his dreams.
II
Michael sits at the edge of the bed in his hotel room with his face buried in his palms. Vidalia stands to his left, with an arm on his back. Ultimate Showdown is only a few short days away and the world was getting ready for the main event. Though, this was a tough time for the Dark Prophet. In order to become World Champion, he had to go through the GOLDEN GOD. He had to defeat the leader of the Church of Singh. He had to defeat Stephen Singh himself, a feat that Michael has never been able to accomplish. A feat that Michael X doesn’t even know if he should accomplish.
Michael X: The Church is the reason I’m here. The Church is responsible for everything right now. Our Golden God has brought me here, a double champion, holding four stones.
Vidalia: You brought yourself here, Michael. You’re the only one responsible for what’s going on. You won that Hardcore Championship. YOU won thos Tag Team Championships. YOU won those stones. Nobody else.
She wasn’t lying, though the tag team championships was a joint effort, Michael HAD won the Hardcore Championship, he had won four of those stones, even if it took the aid of a machete. Michael was the only one responsible for his current winning streak. He was the one responsible for everything. Even if he didn’t want to believe it, even if he wanted to attribute everything to his role in the Church.
Vidalia: As far as I’m concerned, this should be the Church of X. You’re the true GOD. You’re the one that is marked by the DARKNESS. You’re the one that is carrying the Church. You’re the only one that matters.
It didn’t matter what Vidalia had to say, Michael was having a tough time tackling the thought of having to take his fellow Church members out of this match. He didn’t want to do it, but he would and he knew he would do whatever it took to walk out of that match as the NEW WCF WORLD CHAMPION. He would take the Church out if it came down to it. The real dilemma was how the Church would respond to Michael walking out of that match as the TOP GUY in the company. How could Stephen Singh be their GOD if Michael X was walking around as World Champion?
Vidalia: Don’t be so hard on yourself, Michael. You know that you’re the best competitor in WCF history. You know that you deserve this win more than anyone in the match. You know that it’s your time. I don’t know why you’re even worried about anyone’s feelings. They know that you deserve this. They know that you are the brightest star in this galaxy.
Michael lifts his head from his hands and takes a deep breath.
Michael X: It’s time.
A slight pause, he reflects on everything that’s going on right now. He thinks about 2015. He thinks about just barely missing his inclusion into the 2016 Ultimate Showdown match. He thinks about all the times that the WCF has overlooked him. Giving world title shots to Teo Del Sol. Giving main event matches to Bonnie Blue. Letting Dune capture the world championship in a match with three bums? Jackson Caine, the worthless SAINT Hayes, and the man Michael defeated for the HARDCORE championship, Kyle Kemp? A joke of a match, all while Michael X is passed over time and time again for that WORLD Championship.
Well, enough is enough and it’s time for a change. It’s time for Michael X to take what he deserves. It’s time for Michael X to take what truthfully belongs to him,
I take what's mine, then take some more
It rains, it pours, it rains, it pours
It rains, it pours, it rains, it pours
It’s time for Michael X to take that World Championship and usher in the darkest hour of the WCF. It’s time for Michael X to bring the WCF to it’s knees as he was set to rule over everyone and become the greatest World Champion in WCF history. It's time for Michael to take what's his, and watch as the rain pours around him. Watch as everything goes his way, watch as the Church grow stronger and stronger. Michael X wasn't going to waste this match. He wasn't going to become the first competitor eliminated AGAIN. He wasn't going to be humiliated, no, because this was different. This was..
Michael X: It’s my time.
The tone in Michael’s voice was calm. There was no doubt or fear, there was only confidence. It didn’t matter who he stepped into that ring with. Throw in Joey Flash, throw in Howard Black, throw in Scarecrow, throw in Balfore, throw in anyone from the history books of WCF, it just didn’t matter. Throw in Corey Black, throw in Jayson Price, throw in the entire WCF roster at the same time and Michael X was still going to walk out as World Champion because it was his time. It was his time to run the show. It was his time to be the top guy. It was his time to be the top target in the WCF locker room and it was his time to shine.
And shine he would. Shine he always did, but never this bright. Never this blinding. Now it was his time to become the force that he has always known that he was. Now it was time to bring the Gold where it belongs.
III
Now I know why you’ve been shaking
Fear is strong. Fear can change the world. Fear can shape the mind. Fear can be manipulated. Fear can be shaped and used to one’s advantage. Fear was Michael’s biggest weapon, and he knew it. He knew that he instilled fear in everyone that stepped in that ring with him. Was this going to be their last match? Was this going to be the end of everything?
Michael had that ability. He had ended careers and he had done so with such violence that it was hard to forget. It was tough to look past the things that Ol’ X was capable of doing. This was a man that attempted to murder Sam Shields in a match at XIII with a machete. This was a man that had no limits to the carnage that he was going to bring into a match.
Hell, maybe he would step in there, and end the career of Bonnie Blue. Send her through time to The fields of Trenzalore. Maybe he would take Teo’s mask, and burn him to the ground in a BLAZE of death. Maybe he would burn Dune in the desert like he did to the decapitated head of his best friend?
Michael had no limits to what he was about to do at Ultimate Showdown. He was going to step into that ring as ONE of the SIX competitors who had their eyes set on that World Championship. He was going to step into that ring and throw caution to the wind to do everything that he could to reach the pinnacle of professional wrestling. He was going to win that match and he was going to do whatever it took.
Even if that meant ending someone’s pathetic career.
Bonnie Blue was nothing. Michael had beaten her every single chance that he had after she humiliated him in their first meeting. He was not going to allow her to ever get that opportunity again. She would not defeat Michael X. She would not get a chance to take away Michael’s Hardcore Championship, she would not have a chance to take Michael’s Tag Team Championship, and he would not allow her to take Michael’s WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. She would be dealt with quickly. She would meet that superkick as Michael marked her with that deadly X. She would fall and if Michael seen her make the slightest move, even a twitch, he would make sure she was put to sleep. He would make it his personal mission to end her right there in the middle of that ring. Bonnie Blue was complete and utter garbage that did not deserve to be in this match with the future World Champion.
Michael had proven that time and time again and if she needed a reminder of his dominance over her, he was more than happy enough to oblige. He was going to remind her the second that bell rang. He was going to show her that TIME is not her friend because TIME and TIME again, Michael X would beat her in the middle of the ring and she would fall back into obscurity. She would fall back into a place where the DARKNESS eats at her soul and she won’t be able to escape. She won’t be able to find a way out.
But there were others in this match, there was Teo Del Sol, Michael’s long time rival who has wasted world title shot after world title shot after world title shot. That’s right, the long time people’s champion has had so many FAILING chances, that he earned his way into Ultimate Showdown by ALMOST NOT FAILING. That’s right, he earned his way into one of the biggest matches of the year by losing. That has to be the most Teo Del Sol thing of all time, but that just gave Michael X easy prey. That gave Michael X an easy target to eliminate. That gave Michael X a guaranteed championship belt because there were two easy eliminations. Make no mistake about it, Teo was not going to factor into this match. He was going to be dealt with by the Church of Singh and sent back into his dream world where he is the longest reigning people’s champion. Where he holds something that matters, in his heart, and nobody can take that away from him.
Michael wasn’t going to allow him to grasp that World Championship. After years of battling Teo Del Sol and trading wins back and forth, it was finally time for Michael to put him away. It was finally time for Michael X to BURY Teo Del Sol and leave him to rot in Los Angeles. The SUN has risen for the final time and when Michael X chokes the life out of him, it’s all over. Lights out.
There was also the current World Champion, DUNE. A man that has overshadowed Michael X for their entire tenures within the WCF. Dune, the man who won the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP at Asesinato de Mayo in 2015, overshadowing Michael’s first title reign. Dune, the man who won the World Championship just for the sole reason that it would take the attention away from Michael X, at least that’s what Michael thought. Everyone was out to get him and Dune was no exception. Michael had always seen that fear in his eyes, that fear that Michael would rise up and take him down, rise up and take him out.
It was Michael X that ended Dune’s tag team run with Wade Moor. It was The Church of Singh that took Wade Moor out of action and it was going to be the Church of Singh that took Dune out of action, too. Michael was ready to do the damage. He was ready to eliminate Dune. He was ready to take that next step and climb to the top of the mountain.
Michael X: Dune, it’s finally time that you get what you deserve. It’s finally time that you get what has been coming for a long time. I know you remember what I did to Moor, and that’s nothing compared to what I’m about to do to you, Dune. That was just..
Michael thinks for a moment before grinning and eXclaiming,
Michael X: fun and games.
What I have planned for you is something you’ve never thought possible, Dune. But, don’t worry. You’ll soon be reunited with Wade Moor in the injury ward, nursing an injury for the rest of your life. Because, that’s what happens when you cross me, Dune. That’s what happens when you step into MY ring, into MY KINGDOM. I don’t play by anyone’s rules, Dune.
I know you’ve been in some barn burners, Dune. You’ve been in some high profile matches. You’ve been in some dangerous matches. You’ve wrestled some of the best. But, this? This is different, Dune. This is the biggest match of my career and I’m about to turn it into the biggest moment of my life. I’m about to take that belt from around your waist and prove to everyone that I am everything that I’ve said I was. I’m about to achieve my biggest dream and you’re not going to stop me. I will not allow it.
You don’t get to control this moment, Dune. You’re but a mere pawn in this game, in this match, and I’m the one that’s here to take you down. I’m the one that’s here to put the WCF on notice that things are going to be different. Things are going to be darker. Things are going to be a bit more eXtreme around here. Things are going to be my way.
Michael’s eyes were cold, and he was talking as if he was somewhere else. Somewhere darker, and he was ready to bring that DARKNESS back with him to Ultimate Showdown and blanket the match in complete darkness. Pain was going to fill that ring and Michael’s laughs would echo through the arena as fans watched in horror.
Please, stop. Fans would plead, with tears rolling down their miserable faces. Corpses lying around Michael X as he aimed and gunned for that World Championship. Dune would not retain, and he would be lucky to even leave that ring with the tag team championships with Teo Del Sol. He was the biggest target in this match, and Michael was gunning for him. Michael was gunning for him hard, because he needed to prove that he could beat the World Champion and take what was his. He needed to show the world that Michael X was the most destructive force in all of wrestling.
But, not only that, he needed to prove to himself that he was capable of becoming World Champion. He needed to prove to himself that he was the greatest. He needed to show the world that he was capable of all these things and beating the current WCF World Champion was a surefire way to do so.
IV
The Church
Coming into Ultimate Showdown, half the match was full of The Church of Singh. They would probably have to do battle with each other at some point in this match, though, they would hold off on that til the very end. When it was just three men left. When Michael X, Stephen Singh, and Kid Dynamo all stood face to face to figure out the pecking order.
One could argue that it would lead to Stephen Singh stepping out of the ring with the World Championship, Michael X with the Hardcore Championship, and Kid Dynamo with the Television Championship.
However, that’s not the way Michael X would allow it to happen. That World Championship meant everything to him. It meant more than you could ever imagine. It was his white whale and he had to win it. He had to become WCF World Champion. Even if it meant defeating the GOLDEN GOD. Even if it meant he would have to defeat the leader of the Church of Singh. Even if it meant defeating Stephen Singh.
Though, this was tough. There was inner turmoil. Michael X wrestled back and forth with the idea of battling Singh. It was Singh that found Michael X when he was down and promised him bigger and better things. It was Singh that helped to rebuild Mikey eXtreme into the man that we see now. It was Singh that motivated Michael X to become a double champion. It was under Stephen Singh that Michael X was able to acquire four of the stones.
Was this the way to pay him back? To defeat him? To take away his chance at winning the World Championship, again? But, what was bigger and better than the WCF World Championship? There wasn’t a bigger prize in all of wrestling. This was the biggest accomplishment one could make, and Michael X would be a fool to pass it up. Surely, Singh would understand, right? This was a man who was known for stealing his way to victory. For stealing his way to championships. He would have to understand Michael’s reasoning for going after the championship.
Michael X would defeat Stephen Singh because to be the man, you had to beat the man. Stephen Singh was a GOD, though, and Michael had to beat him. He had to show the world what he was capable of. He had to show the world that there was nobody that could stop him. That there was nobody that could get in his way. It didn’t matter if they were a man, a woman, nor a god. Michael X was going to stop at nothing to prove his worth, he was going to beat everyone in Ultimate Showdown and he was going to walk away with what he deserved. If he had to eliminate the Church, then he would do so because he was hungry. He needed to be world champion in order to validate himself. He had waited on the sidelines, looking in, for too long. It was finally his turn to take the field and he wasn’t going to let this moment slip away. He wasn’t going to allow anyone to take this from him.
Michael X was going to be the World Champion. There wasn’t a person in this match that could stop him, and every one of them knew it. Kid Dynamo was a star in the making, but it wasn’t his time. He didn’t have what it took to defeat Michael X, and with a tear in his eye, X would hit that superkick on him, and just like Flair, he would fall to the mat and it would be over. But, he still has plenty of time to rebound in the future. This is not his time, and Michael will have no qualms about taking him out of the match when it comes down to the final three.
The Church will go on and it will grow stronger and stronger despite this match. There is nothing that will change that. There is nobody that will bring them down because as a unit, they are too strong. They are untouchable, unbeatable, and all champions. They are relentless. They are everything that makes professional wrestling enjoyable. They will be the final three and there is nothing that can be done about it. That much is set in stone.
Michael X: Stephen, before this match starts. I just want to tell you that I’ve wrestled with this decision all week. I’ve fought myself on this, bitterly. I want to apologize, now, for what is about to happen. We will be the final two, trust me. I have never been so sure of something in my life. We will be the final two, and I’m sorry.
That belt, that world championship? That belt means everything to me, I’ve had to sit back and watch countless people win the world championship. Guys like Jeff Purse, Oblivion, Jason O’Neal, Dion Necurat, Adam Young. Guys that don’t deserve that belt, guys that I beat every time you put me in a ring with them. Guys that got opportunities that I was not lucky enough to receive.
And you know what?
I’m sick of it. I’m sick of everything that has happened to me in this company. I’m sick of being used to put on the best matches each and every week without being paid back. I’m sick of doing everything that I can for this company while they hand out these big matches to everyone else on the roster. The fact that Adam Young was able to get multiple world championship matches while I’m busting my ass to put out the best work that anyone has ever seen, is disgusting.
That all ends now, Stephen. Because I’m not going to sit back and take it any longer. You’ve held that championship multiple times, you know what it feels like. You know why I must do what I have to do. You know that there is no other choice, right? You know that I must win that championship. You know that I’ve been waiting for this moment, that I’ve been digging deep each and every week, doing everything that I could in order to move up the rankings. I’ve gone and grabbed everything that I could get my hands on. Stones, Championships, souls, it doesn’t matter, I’ve tried to take everything so that I could be noticed. That I could be granted a world championship match, and it hasn’t happened. So, I had to get myself this match, and I can’t let it go to waste. I can’t let somebody take this moment away from me, I just can’t.
I need to be World Champion.
I need to feel what that feels like. I need to achieve this dream, Stephen. I need to win this match at any cost because I need to feel what it feels like. I need to touch that Championship belt and know that now only am I the best, but that I am recognized for my hard work. That I’m not wasting everything to just sit back and dream. I need to feel what it’s like to be the top guy, to be the World Champion.
This has nothing to do with the Church, Stephen. This is about me. This isn’t about Dune, this isn’t about Dynamo, this isn’t about Teo, this isn’t about Bonnie. This is my night. This is my chance, my only chance, and I will not let it get away from me. I will not let it escape from my grasp. I am going to do whatever it takes to get the job done and I hope you know that.
Michael takes a deep breath and exhales. Every moment that ticks by inches closer and closer towards the biggest moment of Michael’s career. Every second that ticks by brings us to a new age and Michael cannot wait to unleash the darkness over everyone and everything in the WCF Galaxy.
Bonnie Blue, Teo Del Sol, Dune, Kid Dynamo, and Stephen Singh have made it far, they made it to Ultimate Showdown, and though one of them will leave with nothing, Michael is sure that the rest of them will be complacent, if not happy, with leaving with a championship, though they will not make it out of this match with Michael’s World Championship, because he is about to grasp that brass ring and he’s not letting go.
He is determined to become world champion.
The passion that is inside him cannot be matched.
There is no risk too big for Michael X to take.
The World is sitting there for the taking and Michael X’s fingertips are right there, stretching closer and closer, grasping at his future..
