....please I beg of ye, hear my orison to ye, and let my computer not suffer too greatly, let me find the cause of its pain, let me fix it at an affordable price that your humble servant makes.
LOL, so anyway, lucky I have this here Surface Pro 4 as a backup (as a Sailor, you NEED a tablet in this day and age; shit you think we're gonna get stuck on a boat for months at a time with a personal computer of some sort to get you through it?) Without it, I wouldn't have gotten my roleplay up, me thinks.
So, my main computer (It's roughly a year old at this point, so what the fuck?), just this afternoon, started acting up. I was doing only the following: Listening to YouTube, and had my roleplay up. Luckily, again, I save often. So suddenly, I hit a key to type further, and Open Office crashes. Then my tabs fail, and then my t.v. goes dark (my Samsung 65 incher is my monitor; yeah I know...). For awhile, I can still see the mouse and use it, but to what effect, as I can't see. Well at first, I think little more than to start it back up and immedeately run a virus scan with Malware Bytes (premium). Nothing, on that front at least. Well whaddya know, about an hour later, samesies. I'm starting to worry at this point. The fuck? My computer is pretty beefy; I don't remember the specks, but it's an Alienware and not even a year and a half old. So I gotta think that a word processor and one internet tab with music on YouTube isn't really putting a strain on it, right? So it happend two more times, with slightly less time each time.
Now I'm not REAL computer savy. I know what I need to, and that's it. Is this perhaps a video or graphics card fuck up? I thought maybe power supply, but it starts back up quickly enough...though I suppose the fact that I've been getting slightly less time with each boot up after.
This sucks majorly, because I'm in Italy and know very little Italian, and the area I'm in, vice-versa. Now, hopefully, I can go into work on Monday and have my buddy, or someone else look at it. The fact is, that I help out American instructors at a NATO school, and half of them are literally in the IT field; the other half are still electronics gurus, and know more than me about computers, and could probably diagnose and possibly fix it. Any thoughts as to what possibly is going on?
