Slam Intro
Slam opens with a sweeping crane shot over thousands of tight-knit fans in attendance within Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall. The place is absolutely electric as the lights dim, we hear “Death Breath - Toxic Avenger Remix” by Bring Me The Horizon hits as a huge pyrotechnic barrage explodes around the jumbotron. As the smoke clears, we see John Rabid standing tall; arms outstretched as he spins on the spot. Rabid struts down the ramp, snarling and gnashing his teeth at a stray cameraman as John's name appears on a Slam graphic. Meanwhile, Rabid's 'tron plays in the background; it's The Ripper hitting the Kingdom Destroyer on a cavalcade of doomed jobbers, this scene is intercut with footage of Lon Chaney in Tod Browning's "London After Midnight" (1927). Rabid reaches the ramp and climbs the turnbuckle, “smelling” the cheer's from the crowd before raising both the WCF World Heavyweight title and the WCF Television title high above him.
Crowd: RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP!
Zach Davis: He is the longest serving Television Champion in WCF history. A triple crown Champion. A former Trios Champion. A former Tag Champion and 2016’s Hellimination MVP. And now, after climbing the Everest mountain and claiming victory, he is our new WCF WORLD CHAMPION. He is a Serpent and a Ripper. A devious manipulator. And a fearsome competitor. And maybe, just maybe, the best Champion full stop this company has seen in it’s long and storied career.
Freddy Whoa: Whoa! Rabid defeated both Singh and Del Sol for that WCF Championship. War lived up to its name and then some. And now, We have a collision course set.
Zach Davis: Yes Freddy, as of now. It will be Sidney J Warwick verses John Rabid for the WCF World Heavyweight Championship, on the most prestigious stage of all. ONE!
Crowd: RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP!
John smiles as he patrols his wrestling ring, pacing like a caged animal. Eventually, he stops within the center of the squared circle and speaks into a microphone, a title over each shoulder.
John Rabid: Greetings and salutations, you rawkus rapscallions!
The crowd cheer!
John Rabid: It’s good to be back at the hall!
Rabid takes his time. Contemplates the enormity of the moment as the place falls silent.
John Rabid: It’s been a long journey to get here, but I have a few things I want to get off my chest. Ever since that first superkick I delivered sent Andre Aquarius through a dressing room wall two years ago there’s been a truth few in the back had the guts to acknowledge. It’s a truth many find uncomfortable. They try and overlook it. Circumvent it. But now, they’ll never be allowed to ignore it. That truth is...it that I am the best! That I’ve been the best since day one! I’ve been the best on the microphone. In the ring. On commentary. As a Television Champion. As a Tag Champion. As a Trios Champion. And now finally, FINALLY, as a World Heavyweight Champion, I am the best! I’m a Triple Crown Winner and I am untouchable! I’m the hottest property in Professional Wrestling today. And I stand on top of the world!
Crowd: RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP! RAHBID! WOOP! WOOP!
John Rabid: Others can pretend to be a spoke on the wheel, but there is no wheel in this company without me. This world turns, because week in and week out, I’ve busted my ass for over two hundred and twenty days as a Champion to make it so! I do this job, Ladies and Gentlemen, for my wife and my son. And I do this job, for you, the fans. That doesn’t make me a changed Serpent, or a Ripper that’s turned over a new leaf. It just confirms what everybody should have known about me from day one. I do this, because I love it!
Crowd: RAHBID! RAHBID! RAHBID! RAHBID!
John Rabid: It feeds me. It satiates my thirst for conquest. But above all, It is my honor and my privilege to fight before you. I take this belt…(Rabid holds up the WCF Television Championship) and this belt (Rabid holds up the WCF World Heavyweight Championship) very, VERY seriously. These aren’t trinkets to be paraded. They’re not targets painted upon my back! They’re WCF titles! They’re symbols of excellence. And as of right now? You’re going to have to face the absolute best in the world to take them!
Huge cheer from the fans.
John Rabid: Other companies will tell you there titles weigh more. Carry more prestige. (Rabid looks into the camera and waves) Hey Spencer, how ya doing? But the fact is, UCI can invade WAR each and every year, but the starving kids will only ever know these belts through a merch stand. They will never own them! These titles belong to the WCF, to there fans, to it’s stars. You Chicago interlopers ever decide to waltz into my yard again? YOU’LL BE CARRIED OUT THE BACK!
Crowd: DUB CEE EFF! DUB CEE EFF! DUB CEE EFF! DUB CEE EFF!
John Rabid: The thing is though, in truth I don’t blame UCI toerags from trying to get involved in War. It’s like a moth to a flame. It’s an event that burns bright all across the world. To win, the equation is pretty simple. And almost impossible. You face fifty others, and triumph over all. Last Sunday inside the Tokyo dome, live in front of forty thousand screaming fans, fifty five men were reduced to one. Some of those men walked out onto that stage claiming they were Gods. Or that they were Kings. Or that they were chosen ones, entitled legends looking for one last roll of the dice, one last moment to shine and steal a spot. But in the end, there was only one winner...one warrior. And standing before him at one, there will be only be one NEWWWWWWWW World Champion!!! At ONE, only one will be left standing. Sidney? I respect your achievement. I congratulate you on your accomplishment, but I want you to digest this. When the clock chimes and 2018 rolls on by, the new year will not begin with another changing of the guard. There will be no new dawn. The age of Rabid is here. It is now. And it’s not going anywhere!
Crowd: RAHBID! RAHBID! RAHBID! RAHBID!
John Rabid: My time has only just begun, Sidney. My era will stand shoulder to shoulder with Flash’s and Beckman’s and Dune’s. The page has turned. I hold History now in the palm of my hand. And If I choose to? I’ll squeeze the life out of it until the name Sidney J. Warwick is erased from it’s pages. So come fight beside me tonight, Sids. Learn from a master of the canvass what it takes to rule. And to each and every other star in the back? Know this. Tonight, right here inside the Korakuen Hall, the stakes have officially been raised. The bar has been set. Now, if you want these?…(Rabid raises the belts once again) YOU’LL HAVE TO COME TAKE THESE! I am a fighting Champion. So come learn. Learn what it means to KNEEL BEFORE RABID!
Rabid drops the mic as he climbs a nearby turnbuckle and raises both titles above his head once again!
Zach Davis: Ladies and gentlemen, I do believe that the Rabid era...HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!
As Rabid continues to bask in the spotlight, the camera turns to the announce table.
Freddy Whoa: And with that we've officially begun tonight's episode of Slam!
Zach Davis: We've got a huge tag team main event that features that man, the WCF World Champion and WCF Television Champion John Rabid...
Freddy Whoa: It's RAHBID, say it right Zach.
Zach Davis: All right. It'll be JOHN RABID and the 2017 WAR Winner Sidney J. Warwick going up against the team of the WCF Hardcore Champion Ethan King and the former WCF World Champion Steven Singh.
Freddy Whoa: And if either King or Singh can pin Rabid, they can win the WCF Television Title. High stakes!
Zach Davis: We've also got a night of triple threats and tag team matches tonight. We've got Teo del Sol versus Oblivion versus Kyle Kemp!
Freddy Whoa: Johnny Alpha and Leon Hayze versus Agimat and Luke Force!
Zach Davis: Adam Young and Bomber versus Petrov and Hajeet!
Freddy Whoa: Matthew Drake versus Trey Carter versus Jay West!
Zach Davis: And finally, in our opening match it's going to be Mark Hooker versus Hank Herron versus Gemu!
Freddy Whoa: Not many matches but that just means a whole lot of action! Let's get to it!
