The Book of eXtreme
The Path
The Path
Sometimes the path is easy to follow but other times the path is hard to find. Mikey eXtreme was sure that his path was leading him to the WCF World Heavyweight Championship, but it appears that Teo Del Sol was running down that path. Mikey would have to find where his path was heading, and it appeared that Kyle Kemp was in the same boat. So, why not share a boat? Why not combine their efforts and travel down the same path, a path towards the tag team championship?
That was a path they could both travel down with confidence, because they were the best tag team currently in the WCF. This was a claim they would be able to back up as they took on the former tag team champions, two members of the faction known as EVEREST, Stephen Singh and Ethan King. These two might be former Tag Team Champions, but they were the current WCF World and Hardcore Champions, two of the top stars that the WCF had to offer, and this was the ultimate first test on the Path of tag team gold.
Surely, if Mikey and Kyle could defeat the former tag team champions, who did not actually get defeated to lose the belts, that it would show the WCF that Mikey and Kyle were the real deal, that they were the BEST TAG TEAM in wrestling today. A victory of this magnitude would silence all of the doubters and paint Mikey and Kyle in the light that they deserve.
The world was going to find out just how good these two could meh together, but was the world ready for that kind of power? Was the world ready for a team that good? Mikey didn’t think they were, but he never cared about what others thought. He did whatever he wanted to do, whenever he wanted to do it.
The World Tag Team Championships were the future, those were the paths that Mikey and Kyle would have to travel down, and teaming up the last few weeks and squaring off with each other over the years has given them a certain respect for each other while improving the chemistry the two of them have together in the ring.
Chemistry, respect, and power. That was the recipe for success, Mikey was sure of it. Kyle was the perfect person on the WCF roster to align himself with, because they were different but alike in so many ways. They were both cocky assholes who wouldn’t take no for an answer. Sure, their ideals might be a little different, but on the outside it was hard to tell. Each man wanted to be the best and they would stop at no costs to prove that they were Better Than You.
I
Mikey stood there, talking with Vidalia. There wasn’t much to talk about on this particular morning as the trio traveled from city to city. Their destination this week was that of Wheeling, West Virginia, more importantly somewhere close to the WesBanco Arena.
Mikey eXtreme: The Home of the Nailers.
Vidalia had a puzzled look on her face as Mikey delivered that last line.
Vidalia: The what?
Admittedly, she was not much for sports. She lived a totally different life before getting roped into the dangerous world of Mikey eXtreme and Samuel Light. Always more of the “girly-girl,” but the Darkness changes people.
Mikey eXtreme: It’s a fitting title, since it’ll be where Kyle and I nail Everest to the wall. It’ll be where we expose them for the talentless hacks that they truly are. It’ll be the place where the first nail is placed in their legacy.
Vidalia still had no idea what Mikey was talking about, Nailers? But he sounded confident, and she liked that.
Vidalia: Destroy them.
Mikey eXtreme: They hold titles that they do not deserve. They hold titles that should proudly be wrapped around my waist. They do not deserve what they hold and it will be shown to them this week on Slam. It will be nailed into their mind that they do not belong in the world of Mikey eXtreme, in the KINGDOM of X.
Mikey and Vidalia were standing by their van at a rest stop. Freakshow was manhandling the vending machines as the morning dew had just set. Mikey and Vidalia had only just awoke as Freakshow, the driver of the group, had pulled the van off the highway and into the rest stop.
They were hungry, more more importantly, they had to stretch their legs. They had to move around a bit and feel life return to them before cramming back into the van and heading out on the road once more.
Freakshow returned, his arms full of garbage. Sodas, candy, chips. A smile on his face as he threw the food into the driver’s seat of the van. Mikey and Vidalia were hoping for a cup of coffee, but they would have to get that themselves. Freakshow was a scary guy, but that didn’t make the coffee machine do his bidding as easy as the snack machine.
Mikey wasn’t even sure where they were, but after this cup of coffee he was sure they would head out for breakfast and get a hot meal in their stomachs, or at least he hoped. Mikey left the travel details up to Freakshow. He was a no nonsense kind of guy when it came to getting Mikey to where he had to go, when he had to get there.
Mikey would get there, because he needed to get there. He needed to show the world that he was the greatest competitor in the WCF. He needed to bring a world of pain to the World and Hardcore champions. He had to avenge himself. He had to make up for the last few times that he had stepped in the ring with Everest.
There wasn’t a moment that slipped by that Mikey did not think about those matches. Everest had pretty much taken all of his momentum away. Everything was going perfect until the Trios Cup when Everest had eliminated the eXtreme Wolves. Back when Mikey had carried Udy and Adam Burnett to places they had never dreamed of seeing. Back when the eXtreme Wolves were dominating members of the Insane Clown Posse, or whatever they were called. Mikey honestly couldn’t remember.
Zero Tolerance the name of their group would pop into Mikey’s head much later in the day. But, that was after breakfast, and that was where they would be headed to next. Surely, there was an Ihop or a Waffle House around these parts? Mikey was starving and he didn’t care where they went as long as he could eat.
Everest would get what was coming to them at the WesBanco arena, home of the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL and Mikey eXtreme would make sure of it.
II
Mikey stood with his face practically touching the WCF camera, in fact the camera could only pick up his mouth and surrounding facial hair. It wasn’t until he spoke that you could be sure of who it was.
Mikey eXtreme: Stevie, boy. We’ve found ourselves here once again, it seems. You standing across the ring from the KING of Darkness, the King of eXtreme.. But this time you’ve traded in that tag team championship for THE championship. The championship of championships, the WCF world championship.
But that’s meaningless right now, Steve. Because that championship plays no role in this match. That championship cannot help you in any way.
In fact, it will only hurt you. Because the world will look at you, as their champion they expect you to be a monster, to be an unbeatable force that DESERVES that belt. But, when you step into my ring, Stevie, you will find that that is not the case. You will find that the King of Darkness is more than you bargained for, and once I pin your shoulders to that mat..
1..
2..
3..
The world will see you for what you really are, a fluke. You know you can’t beat me, Steve. You know that when it comes down to pure talent, that I beat you every single time. You know that I outshine everyone in this god forsaken federation.
I just don’t get the opportunities that guys like you get, and when I do, they’re stolen from me. Stolen by guys like Teo Del Sol and.. Ethan King.
A bitter undertone can be heard as Mikey utters Ethan’s name, a name that he detests.
Mikey eXtreme: But, everyone will look at you like you’re some kind of fucking God, Steven. While I’m here to remind you that you are human. That you fall below me, you might be the champion, Steven, but I don’t respect you.
I’ll never respect you.
Because you’re in my spot. You hold what I should be holding. You parade around like you’re the KING of the World, but you’re not. You could never hold that title because that’s me, Steven. I’m the definition of a king.. Of a God. Not you.
Mikey’s voice was full of hatred and jealousy. He had always thought that he would become the World Champion of the WCF and with each and every passing week he felt that dream slowly slipping away from him, he would reach out for it, but he would never be able to grasp it fully, unlike Steven Singh.
Mikey eXtreme: It’s a shame, you know, that the WCF has the misfortune of having you as the “face” of the company, because in one weeks time, that face won’t be poster worthy anymore, Steven. That face will be a wreck, that face will be a scary ight to those who tune in and to those who want to see what’s going on in the world of the WCF.
Kids will cry, well, more than usual at the sight. Hell, grown men and women will weep for you.. And I won’t blame them, because when X connects, the weak crumble. The weak fall apart, Steven.
You will fall apart, I promise you. You will lie broken on the mat, your eyes trying to focus on the rafters above you. You will barely be able to hear the screaming from the fans, and when you do, you will question if they’re screaming for you, or if they’re screaming at the horrors that I am bringing to you in this match.
And then? You’ll see me soaring through the air, Steven, my arm angling itself for devistation as it connects with your face, and that’s when you’ll lose all feeling in your face, but that’s fine, because that’s when I lock in the choke and choke the life out of you. That’s when you cease to be, Steven. That’s when the Darkness takes a hold of your soul and we take you to our side, that’s when Steven Singh dies.
Mikey smiles, before finally backing away from the camera. His whole face comes into focus and the world can see a sadistic look in his eyes. He’s loving every moment of the scenario that he’s speaking of. He’s loving every moment of the downfall of The Superstar Steven Singh, and the RISE of the KING of DARKNESS.
Mikey eXtreme: I’m not here to make any friends, Steven. I’ve made a few here and there, and that’s all I need. Like, Kyle Kemp.. the man that will be at my side during the destruction of the WORLD champion. The man that is frankly, better than you.
That makes two of us, Steven. Two of us that are better than you. Two of us that will stop at nothing to show the world that we are the best. You’re nothing but a sacrifice for us this week on Slam.
Mikey backed away even further, he was done with addressing the current World Champion. The next time he would address him would be while he Marked his X on Slam.
###
Vidalia was more than just Mikey’s girl, she was more than just Mikey’s valet who escorted him towards the ring each and every WCF event. Behind the scenes, per say, she was a sort of mastermind. She didn’t necessarily tell Mikey what to do, and have Mikey do her bidding, but she knew how to stimulate his mind in order to have him act on these things. This wasn’t sexual, she just knew what Mikey needed to hear.
This was her way of grooming Mikey into the natural born killer that she knew he was capable of becoming. She wanted the World, and she knew that Mikey would capture it for her. She was the Queen of Darkness, and there was nothing that would change that. They, together, would grow as powerful as possible and then some.
Vidalia: We should have a bus.
Vidalia was growing tired of the van that they had traveled in for the past few years. She wanted more leg room, she wanted to breathe, but more importantly, she felt that she deserved better transportation. Which, in a way, she did. Mikey was a three time United States Champion, he had been one of the top WCF wrestlers for most of his run with the company, he had main evented many times. He WAS a star.
Stars deserve to live a better life.
Mikey eXtreme: A bus?!
Mikey was not expecting this from Vidalia, but it wasn’t something that he didn’t expect at the same time. She had made her thoughts on the van clear on a few other occasions as well. Mikey was more laid back when it came to money, he had a decent amount from his adopted parents’ dirty dealings, but it was always something to fall back on during hard times.
Vidalia: Yeah, you deserve a bus. The WCF’s best talent deserves to ride in style. Not in some rape van.
Freakshow would of felt hurt by that comment, but he was not within earshot so there was no fear of upsetting the big man.
Vidalia: We can afford it.
The cogs were spinning in Mikey’s head. Vidalia could tell that he was entertaining the thought in his mind. She needed something to nail the idea home.
Vidalia: Plus, we would have our own room on the bus.
She followed that up with a wink, as she slid her fingers down Mikey’s arm. Sometimes, being sexual was the answer. Though, this did not mean they would be getting the bus, she could tell by the smirk on Mikey’s face that they would most likely make the purchase sooner rather than later.
Plus, Freakshow could drive a bus.
Vidalia Then, after we get this bus and after you and Kemp humiliate those two morons from Everest.. You get one step closer to the top of the WCF mountain. A mountain that you’ll conquer like no other.
Her spanish accent was thicker as she got herself more excited.
Vidalia: You ARE the WCF, Mikey. And one day, these idiots will give you the respect and admiration that you deserve.
II
Mikey sat in what looked like a boiler room, it was dark and damp. There was a musty odor in the air that was hard to ignore. But, Mikey didn’t care, he probably didn’t notice.
Mikey eXtreme: Ethan..
Mikey didn’t care for Ethan King, they’ve had a brief past that has seen Ethan King walk out in victory every time without defeating the KING of Darkness, and this has driven Mikey eXtreme more insane than usual. Every single time they step in that ring, Ethan King gets a victory that he does not deserve.
Mikey eXtreme: You have got to be running out of luck by now, right? There is no way that we can have yet ANOTHER match where you defeat somebody else and take my victory, right? One of these matches you will have to man up and try to actually defeat me.
But, why try, right?
Just use these victories to bolster your claim as KING, when you have never truly defeated the real KING. You stole my United States championship, Ethan.
Mikey was obsessed with the United States championship, it was a belt that gave him purpose, that made him into a star, and it was Ethan that beat Steve Orbit for that belt. Mikey was never defeated and it has haunted him to this day. Ethan King ruined his legacy.
Mikey eXtreme: Just like you stole everything else from me, but not this time, Ethan. This time, Mikey eXtreme and Kyle Kemp are here to prove a point. We’re here to prove that we belong in this tag team division. A tag division that you do not belong in anymore, because after we’re done with Everest, it will be shown to the world that you’re weak. That you’re nothing, that you were always nothing.
But now look at you, holding that Hardcore championship that I’ve fought so desperately to no avail for. You’ve mocked me for the last time, Ethan. This is where it ends. This is where you meet your demise, as I viciously kick your head off and eXecute you for the last time.
This is it, Ethan, the False King. This is your end, and I will admit you had a good run, despite stealing your way around the King of eXtreme. You proved you were worth the big matches, that you could hang with the top talent, and I’ll give you that..
But, don’t for one minute think that you belong in there with me. Don’t be that delusional, Ethan. Don’t ever think that you are on my level, because you will never be on my level. You will never be as dominant as I am, and that’s the sad truth.
But you will try, and you probably think that in some way that you are better than me, that because you’ve achieved more here that it makes you the bigger star, but let me tell you this right now, Ethan. You’re dead wrong. You’re a fucking nobody when it comes to the wrestling game.
You’re a fucking nobody.
Lucky stolen victories, that’s all you have. That’s all you’ll ever have. That’s your legacy, Ethan. Until you can actually beat me, until you can prove to the world that you’re better than me, than you’re nothing to me.
And that’s what you’ll always be.
Nothing.
Mikey looks to the camera, a look of disgust is on his face.
Mikey eXtreme: We all know that I’ll Kemp and I will win this match, Ethan. The real question is, how badly will we leave you in that ring. Will you be able to walk? Will you be able to compete? Will you be able to defend that hardcore championship?
I doubt it.
But, that’s the price you pay for stepping in the ring with Greatness. That’s the price you pay for stepping in the ring with those that are BETTER THAN YOU. That’s just what we are, Ethan, simply better than you. We’re better than Everest, and we’ll show the world that this week on Slam.
Run, Ethan..
I am begging you to run. I am begging you to hide for your life, because I’m coming to take it from you. You can keep that belt around your waist, because I have no need for it when I can take an even bigger prize, when I can take your soul from you. When I can claim your life for the Darkness, there is no reason to want anything else.
You’ve had your fun, Ethan. But, those days are gone. Those days are long gone..
Tick..
Tock..
The CLOCK is running out for you, Ethan.
The scene fades..
###
It seems as though the bus was a good idea, because as they pulled out onto the road in their new black bus, they all felt a sense of pride. They felt as though they deserved this bus for all the hard work they had done, and now it was time to relax and reap the benefits.
Though, Freakshow would find that the bus would make his other activities hard, how do you get this giant bus places undetected? It was virtually impossible. But, that was a problem that Freakshow was fine with figuring out. He was never one to take the easy way out of anything and this would just add to his competitive nature.
That’s an area where he and Mikey were very similar, they were both very competitive in nature. Mikey could not deal with anyone beating him in any competition, and would turn everything into a competition. It was only natural that he found himself inside the WCF ring, where every day was a competition. Every day he had to fight and claw his way through everyone in his journey towards the top.
And, that’s the path he was on now. A path towards the top. The first, and hopefully next stop, on this path was the WCF Tag Team Championships. Mikey had never had a chance to compete for these belts as the WCF didn’t believe in the hawtest tag team of all time, DAT HAWT AMERICAN DARKNESS. It was a shame, because Mikey and Z-Mac woulda slapped everyone around. They woulda grabbed those belts and put tag team wrestling back on the map.
But, the WCF had other ideas. They would put the tag titles on the line in some shitty match with guys who weren’t even a tag team. Dat Hawt American Darkness was getting booked poorly while two guys thrown together at the last minute were gifted the tag team championships.
Mikey noticed, it was just another day in the WCF. Where you could work your hardest, and put on five star matches, only for the big wigs at the top to ignore, only for them to push guys that don’t deserve that top spot. Only for them to waste you.
That’s why Mikey was taking things into his own hands. He was tired of being told what to do, and who to face. He wanted the tag team champions and he wanted them slaughtered. That was why he agreed to fight Everest again, because beating them was important to the goal. They were the path, and Mikey intended to bulldoze right through them, and right towards those tag team championships.
Who was betta than Mikey eXtreme and Kyle Kemp? Certainly not Kanyon, and certainly not these idiots in Everest. There was no tag team currently in the WCF that could hold a candle to Kemp and eXtreme, there was nobody better. The WCF knew it, the fans knew it, Mikey and Kemp knew it, and even if they wouldn’t admit it, Everest knew it too.
Hell, Mikey was so confident in this team that he didn’t even care if David Sanchez was in the match. Mikey and Kyle were that much better than Everest that they would take the whole team on at the same time, and make it look easy. Everest was conquerable. They weren’t the mountain that they thought they were, no. They were just a stepping stone to bigger and better things for the Best Tag Team in Wrestling today, Mikey eXtreme and Kyle Kemp.
This bus was just the start. Bigger things were sure to follow, Mikey could feel it. Deep down inside, the darkness could feel it too and the Darkness was ready. The darkness was ready to pounce, the darkness was ready to devour.
III
That’s where the story was headed. The story of the monster, Mikey eXtreme, the last American King. A man who was held back by no limitations and was ready for war. A man that was going to bring everything he had to Everest, and then some. A man who wanted what he deserved and was going to get it.
It was time to stop playing around and get serious for once. Mikey eXtreme would have to reclaim the glory that he once held onto so dearly. Mikey eXtreme needed that recognition to strive. He needed the people’s eyes on him, even if he said otherwise. Because, if the people weren’t there, then there was nothing. If nobody cared or supported him, than what was the point?
But that didn’t mean he liked them.
Mikey understood the importance of everything even if he didn’t like it. He could downplay anything because that was the man that he was. That was who he always was and who he would always be. There was no changing his ways, the only thing that could change and that would change was his status. He didn’t just want to be a WCF competitor, he wanted to be THE WCF competitor. He wanted gold around his waist and he wanted it now.
He wanted to have names like Steven Singh, Ethan King, Everest, and the likes to his list of notable victories. Why shouldn’t he? Why shouldn’t he be known as the greatest competitor in the WCF? There was no more sleeping on Mikey eXtreme because if he caught you sleeping, you weren’t going to wake up. Those dreams would be the last things that ran through your mind before Mikey eXtreme erased you. Before Mikey eXtreme X’d you out.
All HAIL the King of eXtreme, because once you step inside that ring, it’s over. Run while you can, while he lets you, because once he sees those eyes, once he senses your presence, once he smells your fear, it’s all over.
Ask Bernard Core, ask Vengeance, ask Chelsea Armstrong.. That is, if you can find them. Ask everyone else that has been in that ring with Mikey eXtreme and they’ll all tell you the same story of the mad man looking end their lives. They’ll all tell the same story of a man with no fear, willing to risk it all on a huge pay off. They’ll tell you they wished they never stepped in that ring with him on that night because the damage they took was more than they bargained for.
That’s why this week on Slam, Everest crumbles. Everest comes crashing down to the ground harder than anything you’ve ever felt before.
Time slowly ticks away..
Tick..
Tock..
