Fans can respect work rates, and that's cool, but that doesn't make someone face. Faces and heels are divided by actions, not in ring technical ability. This resides at the root of the problem. Faces and heels fighting is the engine that drives a Federation forward. We don't have balance right now. For example, take a look at Steven Singh V Joey Flash, who does the crowd cheer for? Singh? He's a heel. Flash? He's a heel. One of those guys needed to turn face, or don't book it, because it doesn't do anything for either guy. Singh should have turned full face for the program, the lines needed to be clear. It's not good enough to say, "modern wrestling doesn't have heels and faces", because that's nothing more than a bullshit WWE line that gets dropped because they don't know how to get people over anymore. I urge people in the fed to think carefully about how they play their characters. Tweener is a bullshit cop-out, plain and simple. If you want respect? Be a face. Sure, it's harder, but if you pull it off? The rest of the fed will respect you, and you'll show each and every one of the roster just how good you are. Think of it like this. Heel is easy mode: there's no kudos there. Choose Face and succeed? That's a platinum unlock; only serious gamer's choose face. If you're a face and it works? Then you're a real talent. We all like to think of ourselves as good RP's (and a lot of us are, no doubt) but only by rolling with a face character do you really prove it. It's the choice that separates the men from the boys. >Becomes face "Andre shud be heel" >Becomes heel "Andre shud be face" >Becomes Tweener "Bullshit cop out"

I think face/heel is all personal perception in this day and age. You love who you love, you hate who you hate. The true test of skill is if you can pull off either seamlessly with the same character. That's why the motherfucking GOAT FACE/HEEL is none other than Steve Orbit fam. Fite me if u think I'm wrong. Orbit was/is/forever will be great as a heel and a face because he made you care about the character so it mattered to you what side he was on. Waylon Cash was another one who was good at this. I was legit bummed when he turned heel which meant the writer did his job. Great point. I think there's only been a few people in WCF history who could pull off heel or face and those two would be on my short list as well. I think Teddy Blaze will be added to that list but as he pointed out, he's spent so much time in the IT and People's divisions, I can't really get a good enough feel for him. I could never play Gravedigger as a face and be successful. I don't think I could play Billy as a heel. I think John Barber is possibly my only WCF character that I could play as a face or a heel. I don't say that confidently though. Fans can respect work rates, and that's cool, but that doesn't make someone face. Faces and heels are divided by actions, not in ring technical ability. I wanted to go with Gravedigger for the year, but now I'm starting to rethink it. Not because of the string of losses I've had either. I'm so conflicted!

He's Tom Brady. Also, a damn good heel.

Because he popped up here again and it's fresh on my mind ... I also wanna say that I thoroughly enjoy Rabid's new approach. The "Sir Jonathan Rabid" thing works VERY well for him. He has always had a clear eloquence to his roleplays and this just fits that perfectly. So add Sir Jonathan Rabid to the top characters I enjoy list.

Why is there still even drama here?
When the UCI guys very FIRST started coming back, I was skeptical ... and I felt/thought it was for the wrong reasons (I explained this to Jared Holmes which he alluded to in another thread) but come on ... they've been back for basically 6 months or better at this point and have done NOTHING but contribute over and over again. It took me about all of a month to see that I had it wrong (mind you these guys were slowly returning during that time little by little.) But seriously, these guys were here before many of you guys and now they're back and contributing to make WCF a great place.
Dag, dude ... please stop going at Tort ... the guy is a legend here and he always will be. The OOC drama just has to end.
None of us here really know each other and my situation proved that to the fullest of extents. But regardless, we may know each other's names and what music or wrestlers each other like. We might even know who works what job, but we're still all strangers on the internet who cam here to play a game. Let's keep it to that game, the OOC shots are seriously uncalled for on all fronts.
If you really sit back and think about it, nobody who has ever joined WCF has done so because they care about your politics, or your personal life, or what teams you root for, or any other aspect of your real lives. People join here to have FUN and play characters. But the OOC board is always growing so much more volatile than the IC boards and it shouldn't be that way.
Play your characters, get along ... if you can't then just avoid each other OOC. I can say with almost 100% certainty that no one gives a shit about your OOC squabbles and would rather they just stop so that people can focus on IC squabbles that actually work toward something.
We're all friends here, and even if that's not the case we do share the common bond of this crazy efed world. We should probably focus on that instead of the OOC drama.
Just think, would you bring this shit up with your real life friends? Probably not in most cases, but the internet seems to always be a free for all. If it's not worth losing your irl friends over, then probably not worth losing your personal hobby/escape over either. Because the only outcome is people get pissed and leave, or people go too far and get banned. Not worth it.
And I thought there was a thread for resolution and such, so why bring more beef here?

And then I re-read Tort's response and it doesn't even seem as serious when I actually read it word for word *facepalms self*

Yeah, Tort and Dag were joking around and I was joking in reference to Tort's nightmarish vocal performance on the former RP of the year.
