Jeff Purse, Stuart Slane, and 7 more like this

4 years ago I left a place that I felt I wasn't wanted in any longer. It was a terrible feeling because I felt that all i did was play a heel character and tried to have fun as it. I went throughabout a dozen places before that and never lasted long because the people there were buttheads and I didn't want to deal with them. then I found that place and wanted to call it my own, which is a big deal for me. That was the same place that ZT and Vinnie came from. I had said some pretty terrible things about that place but I was in a bad place at those times, but ZT, and Vinnie were never EVER part of my problem. From what I understand ZT left that place under similar circumstances because of the same people I had issues with and that's the only reason I bring them up right now.
For the sake of brevity I'll leave that there because it's important but not relevant right now.
Before my issues arose that fed was the GREATEST fed I had ever participated in. It had a history, it was run fairly and justly. It had a great, if sometimes quiet OOC community. A bunch of wrestling fans who liked writing shooting the shit about the current product, being nostalgic over the older wrestling and writing as characters and never letting IC and OOC cross.
Then I came here, and the OOC community is out of control. The people were awesome and the way the pace is run, with one guy making the decisions and a group of mods maintaining the place in general seemed like a great way to run it. I've always loved this place since the moment I stepped in as Livewire. I tried to get as many people as possible to join not only because of the level of competition but because of the community as well. I've grown a lot dealing with you all.
I'm not an internet person. I don't go on Reddit or Instagram... I have a facebook but it's got like 3 pictures and I have 20 friends. I have a fake twitter account that I use to troll indy wrestlers but hardly ever look at that. I look on here, I look at Spencer's place and I go on Break.com and ebaumsworld.com to waste time (yes ebaumsworld... THAT'S how much of an internet person I'm not) as well as check out a couple of magic (illusions) youtube channels to teach my nephew how to do card tricks.
I grew up relatively poor, but never wanting
My dad died when I was 4
I'm married and have 2 kids
I'm not unique. I think we all have our struggles with our past and some with our current situation. I think many of us stick to a few websites and don't travel around much.
But no matter how I felt I never got involved in drama because, as terrible as this may sound, and I don't mean to be a dick...
you guys don't matter to me.
I'm sorry if that's brash, but if we weren't interested in the same genre of entertainment I wouldn't know you. This isn't to say that I wouldn't like to get to know some of you more. For all the shit talking that Jeff Purse and I do with each other he's one of 4 people (other than cliff) that are friends with me on facebook from efedding. I think he and I could get along ideologically and I dig that he's into theater. I would be into theater too if I was a girl like him.
But what I mean by it is that at the end of the day if someone makes fun of my writing or calls me names or makes fun of my family (well that last one would piss me off especially if it's my kids) I don't care because you guys don't know me and I don't know you. and at the end of the day I come here to talk about wrestling with people and to help people become better writers if I can.
THAT'S why I love this place. to talk about wrestling and to become a better writer/help others out with being better writers. Lets not forget why we're here.
Some people feel that they need a sounding post and will reach out with their own personal issues. someone telling us that their girlfriend is sick should be met with nothing but well wishes. Someone telling us that they or their friend is depressed should be met with nothing but kind words. Someone bragging that they got a new job or just had a kid or something should be met with nothing but joy.
Because even though at the end of the day none of us matter to each other, at the same time we matter a lot. Words hurt, and on the internet it's our greatest weapon.
I've written this message about 10 times and am settling with this because I know how important words are and how they can make people feel. I don't want to make anyone feel unwanted or unwelcome because that was what drove me to this place in the first place. And there's not many places like this around any more. Efedding is not the most fruitful place on the web. There are a lot of terrible people and terrible places out there. And now that the place that I came from before this has officially closed down I feel confident saying this.
You'll NEVER find a place that's been around 15 years
You'll NEVER find a place that has a more committed moderation staff or owner
You'll NEVER find a place with more talented writers
You'll NEVER find a place that makes you feel more welcome.
I don't want to see the negativity any longer. I understand where it's all coming from. I understand all sides of it because I've been watching it as a spectator. But I think that EVERYONE has their heart in the right place (except Odin... he's a dick!
So with that being said, we've had a couple of 'feel the love' type threads, but I want to put this out to people that you don't generally talk about. We know that ZT loves ZT and Pantheon loves Pantheon and we ALL love Teddy.
But I would like to say a few kind things about 2 people I don't generally talk about
Dion- you have been through a lot here. But you've grown in leaps and bounds as a writer and that's commendable. You made it through a rough writing patch and now can be considered someone who is clearly on the ascent here.
Captain Pantheon- if I knew you were Dustin beaver I would have shot on you much harder for War. But I see what you're doing. You're having fun, and that's what this place is all about. When it comes time to put in a sick effort you do it, but I can read how much fun you're having and I dig it.
All that being said I'll be stepping back from coming on the boards for a while. I hope when I come back that things are back to normal
xoxo
