Sources close to WCF superstar and former Final Destination contract holder; David Sanchez have revealed this morning that the Colombian has been competing for a number of weeks with a lingering injury to his right knee. It is thought that the point of origin for this damage to his ligaments came during the multi-man match-up at One back in December but that the deciding factor in the Mayor of Chicago's choice to undergo elective surgery has been brought about after Sunday's losing bout with Frank Patrick Venable who further damaged the knee in his pursuit of becoming the new Final Destination contract holder. While Sanchez has currently been given a somewhat clean bill of health; provided he wrestles with the aforementioned patella braced into position - it has been suggested that the athlete will in fact be going under the knife in a bid to repair the knee once and for all. Though David himself was unavailable to make any official statement in regards to this, we were able to obtain a statement from Josef Danco; personal physician and long-time friend of the wounded warrior. When approached, he had the following to say:
"Dave's a prideful guy, so don't be surprised if he dies by the sword with this one. A number of doctors, myself included; have been pushing for this surgery since the beginning of the year. But until he lost the Final Destination contract to FPV at Rise Up - David was blatantly refusing to even acknowledge the strain he was going through in silence for fear that he may be stripped of this opportunity and urged by WCF officials not to compete until such a time that he is 100% With a rough date for the operation thought to be around the eighteenth of February, Sanchez has began to see the bigger picture. At thirty-seven years of age; he's not a Spring Chicken by any measure of the term - It seems though that this rare loss has given Sanchez the perspective he required to make the best choice available and opt in to the offer of surgery from his private healthcare provider."
