Enough is enough and it's time for a change!
-Owen Hart
The lights go out in the arena as the crowd begins to emit electricity from their anticipation. The opening notes of "Map of the Problematique" by Muse hits the speakers to a huge ovation from the crowd. The lights flash several times before coming on full showing Danny "The Vagrant" Vice and his brother Jimmy standing a top the ramp. Danny raises his arms to his sides, exciting the crowd as he feeds off of them like they feed off of him. He rushes to the ring and slides in before climbing the turnbuckle and posing with both arms over his head. Two huge "V" pyros explode in the ring before Danny jumps down. Shannan Lerch stands in the ring with a microphone in hand to speak with the #1 contender for the Hardore title, as well as a participant in the Euthanasia Match at Payback.
Zach Davis: Ladies and gentleman, tonight Danny Vice comes to the ring sporting another new look. But this one is more than just his dress and the way he combs his hair. This is a man who looks like a living paradox. His eyes look weary but determined. His face has been grizzled with the distaste of defeat but eager for the possibilties the future holds. This is a man who looks both tempered and insane. It looks like a new chapter has begun in the life of Danny Vice.
The camera again focuses on Shannan Lerch and Danny Vice inside of the ring.
Shannan Lerch: Danny, I have to...
Crowd: Danny Vice! Danny Vice! Danny Vice! Danny Vice!
The capacity crowd's excitement chants over Shannan as she tries to speak.
Shannan Lerch: Shut up! I'm trying to talk here!
Crowd: SLUT! SLUT! SLUT! SLUT!
Zach Davis: Ha, it seems this crowd knows my broadcast partner better than she imagined.
Shannan waits, unamused, for the chant to die down before once again addressing her interview guest.
Shannan Lerch: Danny, I have to ask. What exactly went through your mind when you heard you were being paired with Thunder in your match against Team Xtreme this week on Slam for the WCF Tag Team Titles?
Danny Vice: Well Shannan. You can imagine there were probably a lot of different emotions and feelings that ran through the mind of The Vagrant when he was told he would be paired with Thunder this week on Slam. The feeling of abandonment caused by his sister Janie over the past 3 months as she left him to support a man who embodies everything that disgusts him about this business. Then, the feeling of excitement, as I could have easily remembered the good ole days of my TWO title reigns as Tag Team Champion with JJ Biggs in Disorder by Design, when I once before stood atop the zenith of the tag team division and looked down at all unworthy oncoming challengers. And finally, one could image I felt the feeling of fear. Could I trust Thunder? Will he remain true to the designs of the match to become co-champions with me? Or is he even diabolical enough to strike when my back is turned? People probably think I felt one of these...or even a combination of these emotions...but honestly...all I thought about is the same thing I have thought about the past three months when people mention Thunder....PAYBACK!
The crowd cheers loudly at the obvious allusion to the Pay-Per-View match between Vice and Thunder for Thunder's Hardcore title.
Shannan Lerch: And do you believe that you and Thunder going to be cohesive enough to defeat the tag champions, not to mention talented enough?
Danny Vice: Talented? Cohesive? Look, I know you might be the big boss man's sister, but that doesn't mean you're qualified for this job if you're going to act like an asinine jackass.
Crowd: You suck! You suck! You suck!
Zach Davis: It seems as if Shannan is turning a little red with embarrassment!
The camera focuses back in the ring.
Danny Vice: As for Team Xtreme, I have to say I respect them. In the short time these two have appeared in the WCF, they have risen right to the top of tag teams. Albeit, they came at a time when it seems your short-sighted brother became more willing to look for quantity over quality in his tag teams. Nevertheless, they are the champions. But what they don't realize is that there's nothing too extreme about either of them. Here's a little history lesson, look back at the past big-time shows, the Pay-Per-View history of the WCF, and pay attention to the one constant that rides along with the most memorable moments. At School of Pain, it was Skyler Striker and The Vagrant that climbed the tallest of ladders, in the bloodiest of battles, that stole the show. And at One, the grandest of grand stages, it was that death-defying duo again that set the arena ablaze with the first and only Extreme Hell in a Cell match. Never again will suicide dives, sentons, steel chairs, and tables be looked at the same way after that night. At War, yours truly put himself through nearly every oncoming obstacle possible, drawing big numero uno, and nearly becoming the #1 contender for the World Title. And then at Blast, the match of the week was the one everyone is still talking about today, was non other than Skyler, Thunder, and ME! Now I know how Team Xtreme likes to go around and talk about how violent and xtreme they can be. They're willing to put themselves through tables, ladders and chairs to stay on top. Well I say, bring it!
The crowd cheers.
Danny Vice: Bring the tables, the chairs, bring the violence, bring the gore. Bring your mothers, your fathers, your brothers, bring this whore.
Vice points at Shannan leading to a cheap pop fromt he crowd.
Danny Vice: But on Slam, Team Xtreme, Danny Vice, with our without that cowardly so-called partner Thunder, will bring everything he has, and everything he's got. And at the end of the night when the smoke clears, the dust settles, and the blood dries, The Vagrant will hold in his hands WCF championship gold.
Shannan Lerch: Cowardly? You call Thunder a coward? It was Thunder who was willing to do what it takes to win the Hardcore title at Slam by being more brutal and violent than you. And it was Thunder who eliminated you from the Television Title Tournament by being more intelligent and cunning than you. And you have the balls to call a man like that, a coward?
Shannan slaps Vice across the face, stunning both The Vagrant and the crowd.
Zach Davis: My broadcast partnet may have just bit off more than she can chew...
Shannan Lerch: What do you have to say for yourself?
Danny turns back and rubs his cheek with his hand.
Danny Vice: The same thing I have to say to Thunder...FUCK YOU!
Vice grabs Shannan's arms, flips her over on his back, and hits Rejection! The crowd goes ballistic as "Map of the Problematique" hits the speakers. Vice climbs the turnbuckle, rips off his "Vagrant" t-shirt and throws it into the crowd. He then jumps down off the turnbuckle and heads to the lockerroom.
