Last time I went to Universal Studios some random guy was asking everyone at the gates of the park if they'd like to watch TNA. As such the majority of the people who went to watch the show (for free, you didnt even need to pay lol) werent even wrestling fans. Still was pretty cool/interesting to take a look within the "Impact Zone", even if most people didn't know who anyone was lol I think the majority of people only went to watch it because they were all "Hogan is here!!!" fun times, fun times. Took a couple of photos too. As you can see I pretty much got front row seats. Best free wrestling event I ever went to LOL (Thats Eric Bischoff pretending hes knocked out lol)

Wait.. its free? FREE? What th fuck is that shit? Who is dixie fucking to keep this going? Ted Turner? But seriously, it doesn't surprise me to see this. Appearances are shockingly important in entertainment, and the lost ticket revenue is easily made up for by showing a few investors packed houses. Plus the media would have a field day if they broadcasted a show with an empty arena. Plus they might get a cut of Universal ticket prices for every seat filled or something. What I want to know is why James Storm came back, dude was on NXT. (spoilers? I don't watch enough of the product to know if that's aired yet).

When TNA taped at Universal, they allowed free admission because you have to pay to get into Universal itself. It was an attraction there.

Went two nights in a row to free TNA. First two Hardcore Justice where they brought in ECW originals under fake new ring names and the second was the PPV originally meant for that spot that took place as a special in place of Impact.

Yeah, TNA isn't based out of Universal Studios anymore, almost everywhere they go are standard "pay to get in" places now. I've gone to a few TV tapings and paid! That said I'm sure they do still give out free tickets to fill up what they have to.
It's a shame, it hasn't been a bad show recently. It really hasn't. In a lot of ways it can be a better show than Raw (except in relevance).
That said, losing Roode and Young is going to hurt them a LOT. It started with Styles, or maybe it started with Daniels and Kazarian - they've lost literally everyone that made them who they are at this point.
Which can be a good thing!, considering their reputation, they could've used this changing of the guard to change viewer's perceptions, but... they're still trying to be WWE-lite instead of ROH-lite. They're at their best when they're ROH-lite.

LOLTNA died when Bischoff/Hogan came in. They went to war with Monday Night, wasted millions of dollars of Dixie's parents money and through various means of slightly illegal tax breaks, and "roster" or "insurance" cuts they've gotten a small percentage of that money back.
Because of Dixie's parents, Panda Energy also gets to write a lot of TNA off as minor losses. It loses a buttload of money, but they don't claim a lot of the losses due to independent contractors. Still, it loses more money, but those small TV checks are nice to cover most of their shit. They lost almost as much as WCW did in 2000 in six months of time with Bischoff/Hogan at the helm. It was a disaster on all fronts.
Secondly, they paper a lot of their shows and STILL sell their shows to venues. This means, for those who don't know, they work an agreement out with the building that the Arena/Fairgrounds brings them in for XAmount and then when you pay for a ticket it goes to the building. This ensures TNA uses a roster and staff within that budget (have yet to do it once in 3 years. ALWAYS over budget.) and then TNA can make some money on merchandise though they never have.
Third, their roster right now is pretty good, though limited through shitty booking in the past, and limited amounts of television they get within their niche audience. It's what they are now. Wrestling is already a niche program now a days, but they're even smaller and with the exception of a miracle nothing will help them expand or turn a profit.
Fourth, Grado is fucking 100/100. Already have talked with him a bisdliassagillion times to get him to come to California for a string of shows but the mother fucker is expensive right now.
Fifth, James Storm was signed to a 3 month NXT (release at any time for ANY reason)contract as he is buddybuddy with Billy Gunn. Well, Billy Gunn was fired and within 15 minutes so was James Storm. Let me tell you straight up right now, WWE never offered him ANY huge contract, never offered him any money, he was simply brought in because he was a Gunn-Guy, and when Gunn was fired, so was he. Plain and simple.
Sixth, TNA won't last much longer as the dirtsheets/Meltzer were actually kind of helping it to keep the company running as a friendly gesture by not spilling the entire details. The company was pretty much sold to the Jarretts, and then botched, and then worked into a deal with GWSWSP or whatever with a partnership, but that was botched too. (Basically legal reasons keep a Jarrett from technically owning TNA property now.)
There was several buyers knocking on the door as Panda/Dixie basically told everyone that POP wasn't going to sign a deal with them for TV. Companies from Cali we're teaming together with money, and even fuckin' pitched them in Nashville in a 3 day meeting.. but POP signed a deal and TNA got back on TV and has given them enough bandage to keep bleeding but not bleed out and die.
TNA SHOULD die pretty soon.
Also, rumor is EY is owed a ton of money and got a "settlement" out from them if he promised to "play nice" for their TV tapings. No idea on Roode. I'm sure more dirt will show up in the coming weeks from them. The writing team at WWEHQ want Roode fuckin' bad, and apparently Albert has discussed him several times in the past few months at NXT training centers, but who knows. You'd be surprised how many names are discussed, and joked about that never turn into anything. It's pro-wrestling, people are gonna show up anywhere they want.

Also, in my shitty humble professional opinion, I thought they would have died 5 times by now in the last six years. So what do I know about predicting companies being alive? lol.
