Kaylyn found herself scrolling through a scrapbook that she had put together years ago. Times when things had definitely been easier for her. Back when she was still talking to her family without any problems being involved. Seeing pictures of her and her three brothers in the ring outback in the yard brought a smile to her face. Her hand tracing along the outline of those pictures.
“Who knew things could get to be so complicated. Joining the business three years ago I never thought it would come between me and my family.. let alone me and my boys.”
She turned the page seeing Tony and Adrean Black standing there on either side of her. That smile never once leaving her face.
“I never once thought that when they entered the business along my side as my manager and partner, that I would leave them hanging in the end. They did not listen however. They interfered when I asked them to stay behind. They came down to my match looking to take out my opponent when it looked like I was down and out... but they soon found what happens when you cross me. Just as they got me to a stand they turned to look at Alexa, and the next thing they knew a chair came over their heads one at a time. Alexa loved seeing that. Hell, I loved to do it. I told her it would be one on one and I proved it. I said it, and made it happen... and I came out on top that night too. She did not like that title being in my hands after though. You know though... we got past that night.. It was not until they came down to the ring to stop me from talking to Gryphon and Robin that things ended. It was all a plan. They went behind my back attacking Roric for not 'saving' me from Snake in a match.. and then I knew if I went near Gryphon.. they would not like it. Watching Gryphon laying them out was the best feeling in the world.”
She laughed knowing how fucked up that sounded.
“The distance since then is what has killed me. I made sure to patch things up after a year, but things are not the same. They were always there for me. We got into so much trouble.. had so much fun with everything we ever did. I really think its time to go home again.”
Kaylyn had grown up in Philadelphia PA and moved out to Tennessee after her divorce not long ago. Since then she had only seen her family once, and had walked out on them at that after hearing what her mother had to say about her having a sister that she never told them about. She had been avoiding all calls from her family since then, and she had no idea how she was going to go about things with her family now. Never once did she think that becoming a champion, and handing the gold over for collateral at the casino, would come to have her face to face with her sister and she never once knew it. Only to find out two years after the fact that it was the case. Closing the book she tossed it on the bed in front of her.
“Damn it. Why do things have to become so complicated. I have so much on my mind and with my first match in WCF coming closer.. I can't seem to get my head on straight and for the first time in a while... I am at a loss for what to do. I mean, my sister found me, you think that would be enough for me knowing she wanted to follow in my footsteps... that after she found out about me from her father she went and trained just to come into the business with me.. but its not enough. Knowing things like that were kept for so long... damn it.”
“You know, the only thing this match will be good for is for me to get my frustrations out on someone in the ring.. and damn it, I already know how I am. I will get cocky about it and wind up losing because of it.”
“You can't worry about that though Kay, I know you will get through all of this.”
Her best friend Heather had joined her and she had been venting for quite some time to her. She shook her head falling back on the bed, bumping her head on the headboard in the process. Holding her head she started laughing and Heather could not help but to laugh as well.
“Kay, look. This week, just get in the ring and get through it no matter what. After the match is over with... we will go and work all this out together. I am going to be there for you Kay. You know that.
“Yeah, I know. You have been there for me for the last few months. I don't know what I would do without you. I got your ticket though... and you will be there watching me lose this week.. and after, we will head to Philly and see what happens. I can't promise I will get over there to see them though...”
“But this week... its something different. This week I will step into the ring with two opponents that I have never faced before, and you had better believe I will give it my all. No matter what happens in that ring... I will come back next week and try again. Nothing stops me. I don't quit.. and everyone will see that.”
