The home of Roy Speede in Richmond, Virginia.
The scene opens in a dark bedroom, the window shade pulled down and the laptop on the desk closed. The camera is focused on the head of the bed, and the sheets appear to be different from the green they were before, but the darkness keeps us from being sure. There is someone in the bed, but the figure doesn’t appear to be asleep, because we keep seeing movements every so often.
The man in the bed sits up, and three light bulbs begin to glow as they hang from the ceiling fan above. The man is much more visible now, and we can see that the man sitting on the bed, his legs dangling over the side, is Roy Speede.
Roy Speede: Whoa. I just woke up from the most hideous nightmare! Oblivion and Greenfever took the tag titles, and then Shane hijacked my United States Championship.
He pauses for a moment.
Roy Speede: Oh wait, that really happened, didn’t it? And then, of all things, after my tag team title match, I find out that I’ve got an elimination tag team submissions match at XIII. And what better way is there to find that out than to be assaulted by the men who will be my opponents?
I’m getting to step in the ring with two of the greatest in the history of the WCF, and I’m greatly honored, but I’m not going to let them get the opportunity to make me tap. Brad Kane and Gravedigger are going to have hell to deal with come XIII, and I’ll be the devil torturing them until they say ‘I quit’.
Roy gets up from his bed, and approached his dresser, still in his white tee shirt and boxers.
Roy Speede: But there are still two more weeks until XIII even rolls around on the calendar, and I’m not going to let anything in my future distract me. This week, folks, I’m going get the opportunity to seek my revenge on the two half-wits who restrained Alex Haden and myself from our opportunity to retain the tag team championships. Those two men I’m talking about are John Thomas and Justin Turner, or if you prefer me to refer to them as such, TnT.
The original plan heading into Explosion was a tag team title defense for Club Cool, against those known as TnT. However, those spineless cowards ran away from a handicap match they competed in against the Shadow Conspiracy. They ran away, even though they had an extra person, and they convinced Mark Markman to add the Shadow Conspiracy to the match.
And then, in the tag team match, they restricted my chance to show the fraudulent ways of the Shadow Conspiracy. They cost Alex and I the tag team titles, and now I’m left with only one goal; I’m going to get my revenge on them for costing Alex and I those titles, and get revenge on them for making us look like phonies. The fans were disappointed, and it was because they kept us from doing what we had planned to do.
I’m not saying I want a rematch, and I’m not saying I don’t, but the titles don’t matter anymore. The only thing that matters is the fans.
Roy pulls out some blue jeans, and a blue tee shirt. He slides his white tee off, and slides the blue tee on. He slides the jeans on over his boxers, and continues.
Roy Speede: At Explosion, I didn’t expect to retain both titles, and I doubted myself because I had so much on my plate, but this week, there is nothing in my sights other than payback for those two fan-hating sons of bitches.
Roy turns out the light, and we hear a door open. Roy steps out of his bedroom and down the stairs to the main floor of his house. We continue to follow him as he exits the house, and once the cameraman is out the door, he turns to lock the door behind him. He slides into the driver’s seat of his 2004 BMW Z8 convertible without opening the door, and the cameraman gets in the back seat on the passenger’s side.
The camera continues to roll as Roy starts the engine and takes off. He begins weaving through the streets like a maze.
Roy Speede: While I usually embarrass my opponents using their own words, this week, I don’t feel that’s necessary. John Thomas and Justin Turner embarrass themselves enough as it is, and I feel it unnecessary to make them suffer for the entire week; I’m going to unleash hell on them, and beat them to a pulp as punishment this week.
The car comes to a jolting stop in the darkness, but the moon shows brightly enough we can still see. Another man comes from the house the car stopped at, and we can see that it’s Alex Haden. He jumps over the side of the car and into the passenger’s seat, and the car takes off again.
Roy Speede: Alex, I’m glad you made it on time. I was just telling the fans how I’m trying things a little differently this week.
Alex Haden: Different? What are you talking about? You always train insanely hard, and you always give your all in your match. What’s there to do different?
Roy Speede: Before last week, I was letting my ego get the best of me. I was talking insanely large amounts of smack about how my opponents were inferior, even using their own words to put them to shame. But now, I’ve got my ego in check, and I’m going to only use facts to show the world how I’m going to win, and my opponents aren’t.
The car rolls up to a stoplight, and it appears the two are heading into the city.
Roy Speede: The reason Alex and I are going to win, and John Thomas and Justin Turner are going to lose is simple. Alex and I want it more.
The light turns green, and the car roars to life from its dead stop. Roy continues talking as he drives.
Roy Speede: Alex and I lost our tag team titles, the titles that Thomas and Turner haven’t ever gotten their hands on. Not only that, but we have the desire for revenge in our hearts; Thomas and Turner don’t have anything to get revenge for. We want revenge not only against Thomas and Turner, but against Oblivion and Greenfever, against Shane Borderland, and against Brad Kane and Gravedigger. And our anger is going to be let out against Thomas and Turner this week. That’s why.
Alex Haden: John Thomas and Justin Turner had a lot going for them at the beginning of April, when they beat the Big Time Jerks to become the number one contenders for the tag team championships. But it went all downhill for them after that. They got scared and ran from Oblivion and Greenfever, and then got their butts handed to them on a platter by not one, but two opposing teams at Explosion.
And now, when they’re thinking it can get much lower for them, they’ll be trying to build back up against Roy and I. But they’ll fall even further when they step into the ring with Club Cool. Not only will we win, but we will get our revenge against the team that refused to step aside and ended up costing us everything.
The BMW rolls up and into a parking lot beside a rather large, square building. Roy and Alex get out of the car, and Roy unlocks the door to the building. The two step inside, and the camera follows closely. Inside, the lights are already on. Roy and Alex go into the back room, and the camera focuses on the wrestling ring inside the building, where two others are already trading grapples. One of the two is Nolan Walker, but the other is an unknown black guy. He is definitely shorter than Nolan, and is likely shorter than Alex and Roy, but he appears to have a much stronger upper body. After a moment, Roy and Alex come out in their wrestling gear, and slide into the ring.
Roy Speede: Hey Nolan, I see you did manage to find a partner for our training session, and you even made it ahead of time.
Nolan Walker: Yeah, I did. I’d like to introduce you guys to the newest prospect for Club Cool, DeWayne Brown.
DeWayne Brown: Hey, Roy, Alex, nice to meet y’all. Been a big fan of Club Cool for a while, and I’m glad to have run into Nolan and get this opportunity.
Roy and Alex each shake the hand of the new guy, DeWayne Brown.
Roy Speede: Well, it’s good to have you. Okay, so let’s see what you got.
Roy makes a motion for Alex to step out of the ring, and Nolan takes a spot in the corner behind DeWayne. Roy and DeWayne lock up in the middle of the ring, and DeWayne backs him into the corner. DeWayne flips Roy over with a suplex, and lifts him up into a powerbomb position. He drops Roy to his feet in a spinning motion, and catches him in mid-air. As he catches him, DeWayne falls backward and hits Roy with a German suplex. Roy gets to his feet, and shakes DeWayne’s hand
Roy Speede: Alright, you have some in-ring talent. You’re in.
DeWayne Brown: Thank you, sir. My main concern, though, is helping you prepare for your match.
Roy Speede: Well I do have one thing I need to get off my chest before we really get down to business. TnT is a tag team like any other, and they’ve fooled themselves into thinking they’re great, when all they did was provide interference for Greenfever and Oblivion. Alex and I are going to get revenge, and it’s going to be sweet. I appreciate the training assistance, but if we hurt you, it’s nothing personal. We’re just preparing for what we’re gonna do to John Thomas and Justin Turner on Monday.
With that, Roy and DeWayne lock up in the middle of the ring, and trade of grapples and moves, with tags to Alex and Nolan and back, and continually changing up tactics and moves to prepare themselves for the match. The scene slowly fades as the sparring goes on.
