- - -The following are the views and opinions of one Scoops Callahan and in no way reflect the opinions or views of Seth Lerch or any members of the WCF Staff- - - Welcome to The Weekly Scoop readers, I, of course, am the one and only Scoops Callahan, ace reporter. Each week I'll come at you with the raw voice of the people as I tackle each episode of Slam and every PPV, and give you my honest opinion on all the hot topics. Also, I'll be ranking the Top 5 wrestlers of the week, along with handing out some awards to those deserving individuals. And then to end it, I'll be dipping into the ol' mailbag and answering some of your questions. So what do you say we get the ball rolling for this week by taking a look at the results from Monday night's episode of Slam. The Big Time Jerks defeated Frost and IngvarThe television viewing audience missed most of the match as by the time the show had returned from commercial break, the BTJ had already decimated their opponents. Now I'm not one to publicly criticize anyone (pause for laughter) but it seems to me that Frost and Ingvar really don't seem to belong in a federation chock full o' talent. And the fact that they are continuously booked despite having 1 win to show for their entire careers goes to prove that either they have friends in high places or someone just wants to fill television space.Chris Avery defeated Bo YoungAnother match that had me scratching my head as I watched it. I understand that the Television Title division might not be the strongest division, but couldn't anyone come up with a more worthy opponent for Avery this week? Bo Young has yet to pick up a win and he's been around wrestling for almost a month and a half, yet somehow still got himself a shot at a title. What gives? Now as much as that had me flabbergasted, my real problem were the antics of the television champion. Choosing not to release a hold after a win, and then when finally doing so, spitting on the opponent is not the sort of behavior befitting a champion. I will go on record saying I lost some serious respect for the TV Champion after this match.Johnny Reb and Paul Dangerous defeated Captain Punishment and The 'ScotThis was the first match of the show that I believe saw equal talent on both sides of the ring. Almost that is. The unlikely team of The 'Scot and Captain Punishment, as unlikely as it seems, had been rather successful as of late stringing together victories. But as we all saw tonight, Punishment has clearly been the one carrying the weight. It's a shame to see someone with potential being dragged down by a transvestite (and not in a good way either). On the other side the Tag Team Champions looked as cohesive as ever as Reb and Dangerous put on a brilliant performance to retain the gold.Tank Reaper defeated The Lone Wolf and MystThis match was clearly a joke. A bad one at that. Tank Reaper picks up the win, and then we get yet another appearance by the TV Champion Chris Avery as he attacked the #1 Contender to his title, The Lone Wolf. Vicious shot to the head with the belt followed up by the Camel Clutch as he screamed insults, just goes to show my point about Avery as being The Truth. (Pun intended)Doc Henry defeated Paul DangerousTerrific match up with a lot of effort coming from both participants, including an already worn down Dangerous who had competed earlier in the night. I would personally say that this was the match of the night, in my opinion that is, however I will say that I do not agree with Doc Henry's use of a chair. This match was on pace to be an instant classic in my book, but the moment that Henry left the ring and picked up that chair, that went out the window. I have no problems with weapons being used in a match, just as long as they are allowed. The moment that you have to cheat to win you lose all respect from this reporter.Brad Kane vs Creeping Death ends in No ContestI was really disappointed to see this match end the way that I did. From the time that the match was made I was excited to see how it would end, and to see it wrecked by the appearance of Torture and the rest of the This_Is_War team has me quite steamed. I honestly hope that the bookers in WCF make this match again sometime in the future so that we can see these two go at it.Troy Malenko defeated Seth LerchNormally I'm not a fan of the boss getting involved in matches, however for this instance I agree with what Seth was trying to do. He suspected that Malenko was the person that attacked his pregnant sister and wanted vengeance, and personally I don't think there's a better way to get that than with a street fight. Getting back to the match, it was obvious pretty quick that while Seth's heart was in the right place, his mind wasn't. Malenko is a trained wrestler with a pedigree in wrestling (allegedly, his claims about being related to Dean Malenko have yet to be verified) and Lerch was outmatched, although he did put up a valiant effort. Now let's move on to my own personal Top 5 Wrestlers of the Week. Top 5 RankingsNumber 1: Troy Malenko - Picked up a big win in the main event over the owner of the fed while putting on one heck of match. Remains a suspect of the original attack on Shannan Lerch, although the second attack may prove his innocence. Remains one of 2 contenders for the United States Title at One. Number 2: Johnny Reb and Paul Dangerous - As a team they defended, and retained, the Tag Team Titles against Punishment and The 'Scot. Dangerous, despite losing, also put on a nice performance again Doc Henry. Number 3: Chris Avery - Defended, and retained, the TV Title against Bo Young. Later on in the night made a statement by attacking the #1 contender to his title at One, The Lone Wolf. Number 4: Doc Henry - Picks up the win against one half of the tag team champions, albeit some shady tactics. Number 5: The Big Time Jerks/Tank Reaper - Both picked up wins this week, however the quality of their opponents was questionable. Too hard to pick between them, so they share the #5 spot this week. Now we move on to my Weekly Awards. Scoops' Of The Week AwardsChampion Of The Week (The Champion that impressed me the most this week): Johnny Reb and Paul Dangerous Match Of The Week: Doc Henry vs Paul Dangerous Up and Comer Award (Recognizing that one talent that may not be on anyone's radar now, but will be soon): Captain Punishment Foul Taste Award (The person that left you feeling the most disgusted): The masked man that attacked Shannan Lerch at the end of the show. Attacking a woman is never right, but to attack one that is pregnant is downright cowardly and unacceptable. I hope that his identity is revealed soon so that justice can be served. Next up we're going to take a look at next week's card. 12/6/10 Slam Live from MSG in NYCJay Price vs Johnny RebThis is my early pick for next week's match of the week. Anytime you pit two of the top wrestlers in the fed against each other you're sure to have an instant classic on your hands. Price is sure to have a lot on his mind with what happened to Shannan Lerch, but something tells me that he'll find a way to stay focused. Johnny Reb is going to be fresh off his victory this week and one can never forget that Reb is a former World Champion. Did I say potential match of the week? Match of the month might be a better prediction. D-Day/Kenneth Williams vs Paul Dangerous/Machine Gun JoeUnited States Champion teaming up with a newcomer to face off against one of his challengers at One and another newcomer. Could be an early preview of what we're going to see at One, although to be honest I would have loved to see these two go at it one on one. The addition of the newcomers adds an interesting mix into the match, and it could be nice to see what they are capable of. Brad Kane vs Frost/Ingvar/Tank/Shaun JacksonIn my opinion this match breaks down to Brad Kane vs Tank Reaper, because Frost and Ingvar have yet to show that they are capable of doing anything and Shaun Jackson hasn't done anything besides stand around and look intimidating (which I will say he does well). Television Title Match Lone Wolf vs Chris AveryThe Lone Wolf will defiantly be looking to seek revenge for Chris Avery's attack this week, and what better way to do that than win the TV Title. Should be interesting to finally see how Avery handles a real opponent. And now, it's Mail Time. Oh wait, I don't have any mail this week, probably because I just started this and haven't told any of you how you can submit your own questions to The Weekly Scoop, which I will then gladly publish each week along with my responses. All you need to do is send me a personal message with the following filled in: Name (make one up if you want): Location (make one up if you want): Subject Of Question: Your Question Is?: Thank you for reading everyone, I look forward to posting a new edition of The Weekly Scoop each and every week for your enjoyment. - - - The preceding article represents the views and opinions of Scoops Callahan. Oh now that's just swell chum. From what I've seen you're quite the bees knees round these parts and hearing you say you approve of my reporting has me more excited than a group of schoolyard boys playing stickball.

- - -The following are the views and opinions of one Scoops Callahan and in no way reflect the opinions or views of Seth Lerch or any members of the WCF Staff- - - Welcome readers to the second edition of The Weekly Scoop. I, of course, am the one and only Scoops Callahan, ace reporter. This past week's show was full of action and packed with excitement, so let's just dive right in and start with a look at the results from Slam. Chris Avery defeated The Lone WolfLast week I said that I lost a lot of respect for Chris Avery after his heinous attack on The Lone Wolf. After this week, I have no respect for him whatsoever. He had the chance to come out and prove me and everyone else wrong by putting on a quality match against the #1 Contender for the TV Title, but instead he took the short cut and had his goons take him out before the match even started. After the so called "match", Avery had the audacity to claim that he is the best at what he does. That is true Chris, you are absolutely the best at hiding behind This_Is_War and ducking the challengers to your Title. Now, Bo Young may not be the best in the business, but I applaud him for stepping up and taking action against you. At One, I do hope that we see a brand new WCF TV Champion.Brad Kane defeated Frost/Ingvar/Jackson/Tank ReaperAs much as I want to congratulate Brad Kane for his victory, I can't help but overlook the fact that outside of Tank Reaper, not one of his opponents has had a win in months. Brad Kane is trying to get himself ready for one of the biggest matches in history when he takes Torture on at One, and WCF tries to prepare him by giving him 4 of the weakest opponents possible. Jeez, next time why don't you just book him against Ronald McDonald and The Hamburglar.D-Day and Kenneth Williams vs Paul Dangerous and Machine Gun Joe ended in a No ContestAn excellent match up that featured two up and comers in WCF along with two new talents that look to be on the verge of making a serious impact. D-Day and Dangerous, both trying to gain some sort of edge over the other heading into their US Title Match, gave us all a glimpse of what we may be in store for at One, and I for one was not disappointed. If they find a way to match the performance they put on, or somehow find a way to put on a better one, then we may be looking at a contender for Match Of The Night. As for Williams and Joe, I see big things happening for the both of them in the near future. Can't wait to see what they bring to the table next.Jay Price defeated Johnny RebWow. Last week I said that this match was going to be my pick for Match Of The Week. Little did I know that this was going to be possibly the Match Of The Year. Jay Price, dealing with so many issues in his personal life, showed the world why Seth Lerch called him "The Future Of WCF". Johnny Reb, a former World Champion and currently one half of the tag champions, showed us all that he can still put on a great match as a singles wrestler. Price may have gotten the win in this match, but both of these men proved why they are two of the best in this company. Price and Reb, I take my hat off to the both of you.Now let's move on to my own personal Top 5 Wrestlers of the Week. Top 5 RankingsNumber 1: Jay Price - Picked up a huge win in the main event over a former World Champion and one half of the current Tag Champions, despite battling personal demons that none of us can imagine. Also took out the World Champion Logan, apparently for good, in a horrifying backstage brawl that ended with Price ramming a car into the trunk of another car, while Logan was trapped in that trunk. Finally, it was announced that Price will be facing Hall Of Famer and accused mastermind of the attack on Shannan Lerch, Gravedigger, at One. Number 2: Johnny Reb - May have lost in the main event, but his performance was nothing less than spectacular as he showed us all that he can still go one on one with the best. Still one half of the tag champions and, as it was announced, will be going one on one with his former partner Doc Henry in a Table, Ladders and Chairs match at One with his manager's life on the line. Number 3: Brad Kane - He may not have faced the greatest talent in the world, but anytime someone can run through four men in a gauntlet match and walk out the winner it's damn impressive. Kane is facing Torture at One in what is sure to be one of the matches of the decade, and this writer is looking forward to it as much as anyone. Number 4: Chris Avery - Defended, and retained, the TV Title against the #1 Contender The Lone Wolf. Afterwords he was attacked, and had his title stolen, by Bo Young, setting up their match at One. Number 5: D-Day and Paul Dangerous - The United States Champion and the #1 Contender both gave us a glimpse of what their match at One may look at as their tag team match went to a draw. Hopefully that match doesn't have a similar result. Now we move on to my Weekly Awards. Champion Of The Week (The Champion that impressed me the most this week): Johnny Reb Match Of The Week: Jay Price vs Johnny Reb Up and Comer Award (Recognizing the talent that may not be on anyone's radar now, but will be soon): Kenneth Williams and Machine Gun Joe. Foul Taste Award (The person that left you feeling the most disgusted): Jay Price. While one could understand why Price took out Logan, the way that he went about it was nothing short of disturbing. And now, it's Mail Time! Name: Prof. Reginald F. McKenzie (Prof. English Language) Location: Washington D.C. Subject Of Question: Dangerous & Reb Your Question Is?: How on Gods green earth do you think these two can understand each other when one speaks in an excessive southern drawl and the other sounds like...well...actually I don't have words. Do they really speak like that over that side of the pond? Anyway, how will these two actually communicate? Well Professor McKenzie, one can only assume that Mr. Reb and Mr. Dangerous do have their share of miscommunications due to their different dialects. Now I'm not an expert of linguistics, however I am something of an expert when it comes to wrestling. And something tells me that miscommunication or not, Reb and Dangerous will continue to be a cohesive unit as long as they continue winning. Because after all, winning equals money, and that's something every language understands. Thank you for reading everyone, I hope you enjoyed the 2nd installment of The Weekly Scoop. Make sure you send me your questions and I'll do my best to answer them. - - - The preceding article represents the views and opinions of Scoops Callahan. - - -The following are the views and opinions of one Scoops Callahan and in no way reflect the opinions or views of Seth Lerch or any members of the WCF Staff- - - Dear Readers,
I apologize for not including my thoughts on the One PPV card in my 2nd edition of The Weekly Scoop, however as I was writing the article the card had yet to be posted. Now that it has been posted, I felt it necessary to give you what you want. So here we go...Brad Kane vs Torture Special Guest Referee: Creeping Death Quite possibly one of the biggest main events in the history of WCF, Brad Kane vs Torture is a match that people have been waiting a long time for. Everyone knows the bad blood between these two as their history has been a part of WCF for years. Add in Creeping Death, a member of Torture's This_Is_War group that has recently shown a dislike of Torture's ways, as the special referee and we may have an explosive situation on our hands. This is the second match of the card that I believe could be worthy of being labeled match of the year, and something tells me that we will not be left feeling unsatisfied.
TLC Match Doc Henry vs Johnny Reb Former tag partners turned enemies face off in the ring as Johnny Reb and Doc Henry go at in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match with Reb's friend and managers life on the line. Everything is legal in this type of match which may favor Doc, but Johnny Reb is fighting for a man's life which may push him to do things he'd never do before. I'm not really sure how the FBI has yet to get involved in this situation, as I'm sure they watch WCF television, but alas this match should be both entertaining and painful to watch as these two put each other through hell.
Gravedigger vs Jay Price A blockbuster match that could easily headline any other card, Price vs Gravedigger is one of two matches that could easily be a candidate for Match Of The Year. The buildup to this match has been so good that it could be made into a movie. Okay well maybe not a blockbuster movie, maybe more along the lines of a made for tv movie. But I digress, this match could end up stealing the show. On one side you have Price, a man tormented by his own personal demons as he tries to deal with the murder of his unborn child. On the other side you have Gravedigger, the man that has been fingered as being behind the attack on Shannan Lerch that resulted in the death of Price's child. We all saw what Price did to Logan at Slam, and he only had a hunch that Logan was behind it. What will he do to punish the man that apparently orchestrated the attack? Or will Gravedigger, the veteran that has seen all, pull off yet another victory to add to his impressive career?
United States Title Match Paul Dangerous vs D-Day(c) In what will probably be the only real Title match of the night, rising superstar D-Day will look to defend his US Title versus another up and comer in Paul Dangerous. Both of these wrestlers are coming off an impressive tag match on Slam that ended in a no contest, and left a lot of people wanting more. Well get ready WCF Universe, something tells me that you'll get one heck of a performance from these two at One.
Television Title Match Chris Avery's Open Challenge While I'm inclined to think that this will turn out to be another over the top battle royal featuring a ladder and a lawnmower, along with some over the top gimmicky wrestlers with less talent than said ladder and lawnmower, some part of me hopes that the TV Champion will surprise us by actually having a fair match. And no, I'm not writing this while drunk.
Machine Gun Joe vs Kenneth Williams Last week both of these newcomers opened up the eyes of the WCF Universe as they put on equally amazing performances in their debut. Now both of them should be looking to open up even more eyes as they go up against each other on one of the biggest stages of them all. Expect nothing short of an instant classic out of this match.
The Cult of Jerks vs Tank/Shaun Jackson/Frost/Ingvar The This_Is_War's C Team goes up against WCF's other tag team in what should really be the dark match. None of the people in this match, with the exception of Tank Reaper, have had a win in weeks and the match itself seems to be a random clusterf**k of a space filler.
Abel Channing vs Gally Po vs Brian Banks The man that used to be Captain Punishment, Brian Banks, faces off against WCF's two newest talents in what should be an interesting open match. Not much is known about Gally Po or Abel Channing, but both should be fun to watch as they try and make an impact in their first match.

- - -The following are the views and opinions of one Scoops Callahan and in no way reflect the opinions or views of Seth Lerch or any members of the WCF Staff- - - Welcome readers to the third edition of The Weekly Scoop. I, of course, am the one and only Scoops Callahan, Ace Reporter. First and foremost let me apologize for the lateness of this week's edition, the recent blizzard that attacked the East Coast left me stranded in the Midwest with a dead laptop battery. But now I'm back home at HQ and ready to go, so let's dive right in and start things off with a look at the results from One. Abel Channing defeated Brian Banks and Gally PoImpressive showing by the newcomer Channing in what turned out to be a better match than I expected. Banks, the only participant in the match with previous experience in WCF, tried his best to keep up with the rookie but in the end could not endure the pain of the Channing Strangling submission maneuver and was forced to tap out. As for Gally Po, well, he was in the match.Tank/Jackson/Frost/Ingvar vs The Cult Of Jerks ends in NCAs expected, this match ended up looking more like a dark match for Slam than a PPV quality match. A true clusterf**k of a match that defined what a "space filler" truly is, this was as exciting as watching the Carolina Panthers play.Machine Gun Joe defeated Kenneth Williams I labeled this match as a potential instant classic and unfortunately I was only half right. Joe was nothing short of spectacular in his singles debut as he forced Williams to tap out of his Omerta submission hold. As for Williams, there were flashes of brilliance in his performance but he just couldn't seem to hang in there. I still expect to see big things out of both of these individuals in the future.D-Day defeated Paul DangerousThe United States Championed retained his title in a tough one on one contest against Paul Dangerous. Dangerous, who was on a serious roll as of late, took the champion to the limit but came up just short as D-Day showed why he truly has the heart of a champion. Great showing by both competitors, and I see both of them moving on to bigger and better things in the near future.Gravedigger defeated Jay PriceIn what could only be defined as a match for the ages, The Future came up short in his quest for vengeance against Gravedigger. It took three Death Valley Drives, an Embalmer and a vicious Clothesline from Hell aided by a steel chair to take Price down, but in the end Gravedigger stood tall as he smirked to a booing Philadelphia crowd. As for Price, who knows the condition, both physical and mental, that he is in after such a devastating loss.Doc Henry defeated Johnny RebTLC matches never fail to entertain the audience and this match was no exception. Plenty of "Holy S**t" moments from both competitors, including Reb crashing and burning through the announce table after a failed Southern Discomfort from the top turnbuckle. In the end Doc Henry was able to cash in on that big failed move and climb the ladder to retrieve the briefcase and, more importantly, the detonator to the explosives strapped to Don Jesus. Fortunately, the explosives were phony and no one was harmed for real. But one has to wonder what Doc Henry has planned next for his former partner.Brad Kane defeated TortureShocker Of The Year. That is the only phrase that I can think of to describe this match. Going into One, there were not too many people that thought Kane could beat the man that has remained unbeaten in singles competition for so long. But he proved everyone wrong when he forced Torture to pass out from the MLK Clutch in the middle of the ring. And then, to add to the shock, WCF Owner awarded Kane the vacant World Title for his victory. What can we expect from our new World Champion? What's next for Torture? I for one hope that we see a rematch in the very new future. Now let's move onto my Top 5 Wrestlers of the Week Top 5 RankingsNumber 1: Brad Kane - Defeated Torture in the main event of One and became the new World Champion. Number 2: Doc Henry - Defeated Johnny Reb in a TLC Match which could be worthy of being Match Of The Week. Number 3: Gravedigger - Defeated Jay Price in a brutal one on one contest. Number 4: D-Day - Retained his US Title versus Paul Dangerous. Number 5: Machine Gun Joe - Won his first ever singles match versus Kenneth Williams. Next up we move on to my Weekly Awards Champion Of The Week: Brad Kane Match Of The Week: Brad Kane vs Torture Up And Comer Award: Abel Channing Foul Taste Award: Chris Avery (Honestly, how many of you jumped out of your chairs when Bobby Cairo put that trash talking punk on his ass?) And now, it's Mail Time! Name (make one up if you want): Vintage1987 Location (make one up if you want): New England Subject Of Question: Your Question Is?: It seems as if Cairo is going to get in the ring soon, but am I the only one that just absolutely loves when he announces? He's the only one that knows how a real mindset of a wrestler is, not to mention he calls the holds and moves correctly unlike that dick-train Zach Davis does. What do you think of Cairo getting back into the ring? Should he stay at the desk, ringside? I agree with you 100% that Bobby Cairo is pure gold on the microphone when he is announcing. However at the same time, Cairo has always been one of my favorite wrestlers to watch inside of the ring. So which do I prefer? Both. If Bobby were to return to the ring I would jump for joy just because it would be amazing to see the return of one of the true greats of the sport. But, I would not want to see him stop announcing. What I would want to see is him somehow find time to do both. It would be difficult to pull off, but something tells me that he could be the one to do it. Name (make one up if you want): Tort_Fan_001 Location (make one up if you want): West Virginia Subject Of Question: (No Subject) Your Question Is?: Where the hell is Creeping Death? Torture, Creeping Death and Jay Price were gonna be the big three, but now it's mostly Price and Tort. What's your thoughts on this?! Good question reader. Outside of being the referee in the Kane vs Torture match at One, not much has been seen of Creeping Death as of late. I for one honestly do not know what CD has been up to as of late, but I shall make it my mission to get to the bottom of this issue. Thank you for reading everyone, I hope you enjoyed the 3rd installment of The Weekly Scoop. Make sure you send me your questions and I'll do my best to answer them. (On a side note, once the new Slam card is posted I will do another short article where I go over it and give my predictions) - - - The preceding article represents the views and opinions of Scoops Callahan.
