I don't think Mikami owes anybody an explanation for his rankings system. People should be grateful that they're ranked at all. It's an honor and a privilege to even be mentioned in the same breath as Chris Avery, Hotdog Mascot and Rick Mad. Those men are legends of this great sport and I for one am not about to bicker because of some perceived discrepancy in the social hierarchy.

question. Mikami is number 7, Slickie is number one. If they faced off in a singles match and Mikami won, how would that affect Mikami's ranking? I understand the rankings for the most part, but not completely.

I'd put myself at #3. I don't want to put anyone other than World Champ and #1 contender at 1 and 2. Although one could make the argument that by beating Slickie T you become the #1 contender, it's not like that would automatically put you in that World Title match.

As I said when I had to explain things to Superfan Mark, it's pretty much all automatic with my opinion not coming into it, but given the prestige involved when you're talking about the World Title, I think it makes sense to use discretion.

The reason I came up with this idea to begin with was to keep straight who the top contenders to titles actually are. In the results and such the phrase "number one contender" is thrown around a lot but it was never written down anywhere. Now people can see their names moving up the chart and say "oh, now I can afford the Mega Tycoon car wash" /simpsons

There is no way I should be top 5 after the past month. I lost all my matches, except one, and that was against the fucking Hotdog Mascot.

When I redid the rankings a few months ago or whenever that was, I made it based on points, and whenever you lost a match you lost a point, even if it was against someone ranked higher than you. But the thing was it was really easy for me to lose count (even though I do all this in a spreadsheet) so I dropped it.

Still do it for the tag ranks though, which is probably why there's always more movement on that side.

Mikami, I don't mean to quibble but Conviction should be 1-0. I know that Seth wrote the ending weird but the official decision was Conviction wins via DQ. You can't very well tag Conviction with a loss just because Seth botched the ending worse than Kofi Kingston. That would be unjust and I know that you're a man who cares about justice.

Yeah, Seth wrote that I got pushed off the turnbuckle which would DQ Conviction and give him the loss but it was supposed to be me losing by DQ.
