(The scene opens with a shot of WCF Headquarters. A white limo pulls up in front of the building. A man in a black suit gets out of the driver’s door and walks over to the back passenger door. He opens the door and Shaun Sexton emerges with his WCF Television Championship Belt over his shoulder. Shaun walks up to the building and then inside through the glass revolving door. The camera shows the lobby of the building. Shaun walks up to the receptionists desk.)
Receptionist: Shaun they are waiting for you up on the fifth floor.
(Shaun walks to the elevator and then inside once the doors open. He pushes the number five button. The camera cuts to Shaun exiting the elevator on the fifth floor. Shaun walks down a hallway and stops at a door and reads ‘Television’. Shaun opens the door. Inside are two large television cameras, an interview area with a large WCF logo, a production crew including two camera men and a director and Hank Brown.)
Hank Brown: Shaun, welcome to the WCF Television taping area.
Director: Hey Shaun my name is Russell Smith and we are going to shoot a small promo for the Explosion show today. Just stand over there in front of the logo and we will have Hank interview you. We are just going to ask some basic questions like what are you thoughts on your first TV Title defense? And what are your chances against Ace? You know the standard interview thing.
(Shaun nods and then walks over to the interview area. He stands in front of the WCF logo. Hank Brown comes over too and stands to the right of Shaun.)
Russell Smith: Shaun, camera one is to your right and camera two is to your left. We will start on camera one while Hank asks the question and then move to camera two to get your answer. Make sure your belt is nice and visible. I will count down from five and then Hank will ask the first question. Okay. Here we go 5…4…3…2…1.
Hank Brown: Ladies and gentleman, I am now joined at this time by your new WCF Television Champion, “The Shuggah” Shaun Sexton. Shaun it was just a few short days ago that you won the TV Title in an over the top rope battle royal. Now you make your first defense of that title against the man who you eliminated last in that match Ace. What are your thoughts?
(Shaun looks at camera two, but never says a word. After a few seconds of silence the director begins to speak.)
Russell Smith: Cut! Cut! Cut! Shaun what’s wrong? Why didn’t you say anything? Your promos are great, what’s up?
Shaun Sexton: Mr. Smith with all due respect to you, your crew, and even Hank Brown, if you want one of the great Shaun Sexton promos, I can’t have some guy asking me some random questions. Sure I can answer question for an interviewer but personally if you want an awesome promo just give me the mic and let Hank sit over there in a chair.
Russell Smith: Well if that is what you want I guess we can do it that way. Hank your services are no longer needed. Shaun here is the mic, okay I will countdown one more time and then it is all you. 5…4…3…2…1.
Shaun Sexton: So three weeks into my WCF and guess what I have struck gold. I told every person since day one that I would be one of the best wrestlers to ever set foot into a WCF ring. No one would listen. Everyone pushed me to the side thinking that I would just be the new guy with the big attitude. Sure I’m cocky but I back my talking up. If you don’t believe just ask Matthew Draven, just ask Crimisin Apocalypse, just ask the former and I put a lot of emphasis on FORMER WCF Television Champion Jack of Blades, who I forced into retirement, and just ask Ace. Speaking of Ace that brings me to Explosion on Sunday.
Ace you and Jack of Blades thought it would be a great idea for you two to team up on me at Sunday. You thought hey two against one look at the odds. But that is where you made your first mistake. Sure you threw me over the top rope, but just when you thought you two would be the ones who would decide who the champ would be, I proved that I wanted the title more than either one of you. Then after I pulled down the top rope and sent the FORMER champ crashing to the floor, I focused my attention on you. What move did I put you down with before I threw you over the top to the floor. ACE CRUSHER. Wow what irony that is. Then I picked you up and threw you to the cold hard floor. Sure it was a great day for The Shuggah, but once again everyone had questions for me. Everyone had doubts. Shaun you still haven’t pinned anyone in the WCF. You won the title in a battle royal it was just a fluke, you can’t win a real match. For those with doubt all I can say is sure I haven’t pinned anyone yet. Sure I haven’t made anyone submit yet. Go ahead and call it a fluke. But no matter what you say it will no change the fact that I am the WCF Television Champion. It doesn’t change the fact that I showed more determination that anyone else in the match to survive even when I was almost thrown to the floor. It doesn’t change the fact that now and forever I will always go down as the man who dethroned Jack of Blades for the TV Title.
Ace, Sunday it will be one on one. There will not be over the top rope rules. It will be a standard wrestling match. One of us will walk out of Explosion as the TV Champion. Ace you could down in history as the man who made my title run in one short week. But you see that my friend will be a very difficult task for you to accomplish. See Ace this is my chance to cement my legacy. This is my chance to prove the critics wrong. This is my chance to pin your shoulders to mat. This is my chance to make you submit. For my critics, for everyone who has doubted me. For all the people who say that Shaun Sexton is just lucky, for all those who call my championship victory a fluke, I want you to tune in on Sunday, I want you to call your local cable provider and order Explosion because on that night the fans will see something that will never be forgotten. The fans will see something that will be a major part of history. Fans and critics alike will see not only my first successful title defense but a first in a long line of successful defensive. The first in a long lineage of people who will fall victim to Shaun Sexton. The first of many who think that they will take advantage of my “luck” and will get beaten. And how appropriate is it that Ace, “the highest card in the deck” will be first.
Ace it basically boils down to this. I hope you have been training. Because I can promise you that I will do whatever it takes to hold on to my title. If it means pulling trunks, great. If I have to use a foreign object, great. But after Explosion by hook or by crook I will still be the WCF TV Champ. Since you have a weird obsession with cards I guess I will break it down for you like this. The cards have been dealt. The bets have been placed. You just turned over you hand and all you have is Ace high. My friend that hand won’t get you very far. Because now it is my turn to lay down and what is all I have to have to beat you, a pair. I lay down my cards and what does it show. A pair. What kind of pair you may ask. Me and the TV Title, what else matters. Explosion and the TV Title just became a hell of a lot SWEETIER because they are going to be filled by THE SHUGGAH!!!
Russell Smith: And Cut! Very nice Mr. Sexton. I believe that we can get some great sound bites out of that.
Shaun Sexton: Well of course you can.
Russell Smith: Before you leave can you….
Shaun Sexton: No I can’t. I have better things to do than sit in this stuff stinking room with you people while you roll your damn camera trying to capture all the footage you can of the best thing WCF has going for itself.
(Shaun walks out of the room and back down the hallway toward the elevator. He then walks through the lobby and out to where a waiting limo is. Shaun gets into and the limo drives away. The scene fades once the limo is out of sight.)
