Ace Garrison and his friend, Adam Burnley, are in the middle of a sparring session in preparation for Garrison's match against Johnny Reb at Explosion. "Control" by Puddle of Mudd echoes throughout the facility, which means someone is calling Ace. The WCF wrestler stops mid-match and proceeds towards his phone.
Ernie Brass: I got it; focus on the match!
And boom! Adam catches him from behind with a Clothesline! Ernie grabs Ace's phone off the edge of the ring and answers it.
Ernie Brass: Hello?
Ernie pauses, listening intently, while also watching the performance of Ace Garrison. The expression on Ernie's is a mixture of so many emotions as he finishes the call.
Ernie Brass: Stop! We have to go. Now!
Ace Garrison: What's wrong?
Ernie Brass: Your girlfriend's in the hospital. They think the baby is on the way!
And with that, Ace quickly jumps out of the ring, grabs his shirt off the mat, and darts towards the door! Adam is right behind him and Ernie is doing his best to prevent a heart attack.

Ding! The elevator doors slide open, albeit very slowly. Garrison, Burnley, and Brass exit and hurry their way down the corridor, checking the door numbers as they pass.
Ace Garrison: (whispering) 32...33...34... there it is!
All three of them dart into the room, which is already occupied by a few of his girlfriend's family members. A big meet-and-greet session happens, before everyone is courteous enough to leave the room -- allowing Ace to spend some alone time with his girlfriend, Hannah Richards. He kneels besides her bed.
Ace Garrison: How are you feeling, baby?
Hannah Richards: I'm okay, I guess. My water broke, so we hurried here. But the doctor said I'll probably be waiting a while.
Ace pauses a second, as it hits him that in twenty-four hours he has the opportunity to win the WCF Television championship. He smiles awkwardly, and runs his fingers through Hannah's hair.
Ace Garrison: (clears throat) Did they, --uh, did they give a time frame?
Hannah Richards: No, not really, just said it'll be a while. Why?
An uncomfortable silence follows without an answer. And, eventually, Garrison simply shrugs in response and proceeds to look out the window; effectively avoiding eye-contact with Hannah. But, she's not an idiot -- she knows exactly what's running through Ace's head.
Hannah Richards: You're worried about wrestling, aren't you?
A pause follows, with Garrison refusing to answer.
Hannah Richards: Aren't you?
Another pause follows, but this time it's followed by Garrison nodding.
Hannah Richards: You have got to be kidding me, Ace! We've been together for three years! And for those three years, I've never once asked anything of you! I've never once asked you to miss a wrestling event. But, this is our child, Ace! You're going to be a father! There's a huge chance you'll miss the birth of your kid, Ace! Please, I'm begging you, forget about the wrestling tomorrow and stay here. I'll never ask that of you again, I promise.. please, just give me tomorrow... please.
The Cincinnati native hesitates following Hannah's plead. He loves her -- a lot -- but ... well, the man has a cold heart. He clears his throat and continues to run his fingers through Hannah's hair.
Ace Garrison: Okay, baby ... I'll stay.
Hannah Richards: Really? You don't know how much this means to me, Ace! I love you.
Ace Garrison: (smiling) I love you, too.. Hey, I'm going to grab something from the cafeteria. You want anything?
Hannah Richards: No, thanks.
Ace Garrison: Okay, I'll be right back.
And with that, Ace stands up, kisses Hannah on her forehead, and leaves the room. He proceeds down the corridor and motions for Adam to follow him. They walk for a little bit, before walking into an empty room to talk.
Ace Garrison: I'm going to the airport in a minute, Adam.
Adam Burnley: You're leaving? You won't be back until Tuesday! You'll miss the birth of your kid, man!
Ace Garrison: I know... I know...
Adam Burnley: How does Hannah feel about this?
A pause follows, and Adam immediately knows the deal..
Adam Burnley: She doesn't know, does she?
Ace Garrison: No, but--..
Adam Burnley: You're going to fuck things up, man.. She's going to be heart-broken when you're not here!
Ace Garrison: Listen, Adam, I love Hannah, I do. And, believe me, I want to see my kid.. But, I have an opportunity tomorrow night, man. If I win tomorrow, people will officially know Ace Garrison has arrived! It's a big deal, man.
Adam Burnley: Yeah, and so is this!
Ace Garrison: You know what? I don't have time for this. You're my friend, and I need you to do me a favor. I need you to be the one to talk to Hannah. She likes you. It'll be better for her if you tell her.
Adam Burnley: What? You want me to tell Hannah? "Oh, hey, Hannah, I know your about to have a baby. But I just wanted to let you know that Ace won't be here to see it because he has to wrestle!" Yeah, that sounds fucking beautiful!
Ace shakes his head. He realizes no one is going to see it the way he does.
Ace Garrison: ...Are you going to tell her, or not?
Adam Burnley: Yeah, whatever man, I'll tell her.
Ace Garrison: Thank you...
And with that, Ace brushes past Adam and makes his way towards the elevator. From down the hall, Ernie sees him and immediately, he knows what's going on..
Ernie Brass: (whispering) Bastard...
Ace enters the elevator, presses "P," for parking level, and the doors slowly close. A few moments pass before the doors finally open. And with that, Garrison steps out into the parking garage, which is filled with vehicles, but there are absolutely no people around. Which, by Garrison's standards, makes it a nice place to cut a quick promo before catching a cab to the airport.
Ace Garrison: Maybe I'm an asshole. I can live with that. But this asshole? Well, this asshole will be leaving Explosion the new WCF Television champion! You see, I put my career first. I do what I have to do to get the job done. Friends? I don't need them. Family? I don't need them. I don't need anyone, period! I'm a one man army making his climb to the top of this company. I cannot and I will not be stopped -- especially by Johnny Reb!
It's that time, Reb, it's finally here! You and I, after weeks of going back and forth, are finally stepping into the ring one vs. one. And there's so much on the line! The most important, obviously, is the Television championship. But then, the winner of this match advances in the Trilogy Cup. I don't know, man. This match is pretty big, isn't it? A lot on the line. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win. What about you? Do you want to win, Reb? Well, more importantly, do you think you have what it takes to beat me, Reb? I don't think so. I'm the most well-rounder wrestler you've ever stepped into the ring with. I can break your leg and dislocate your shoulder at the same time. I can beat you by submission or by pinfall. I can it all, Reb.. I can do it all...
Garrison continues walking, making his way slowly to the exit of the parking garage.
Ace Garrison: To be honest, I'm not worried about this match, Johnny. It's exciting, because after years of busting my face, I finally feel like I made it, you know? I am so close to my first big-time gold that I can taste it. But, a better opponent would have been nice. I mean, yes, winning the title will bring me a lot of satisfaction, but man it would have been better if I beat somebody actually worth a damn! You see, yes, you're a former World champion, but what have you done lately? Oh, that's right, lately you won a tag-team match where the current World champion carried your ass! And you're most recent success? Tag-team champion. Do you see a pattern, Reb? You need someone. You can't accomplish nothing by yourself. I bet Doc Henry is right there to wipe your ass every time you take a shit! You're old news. You're officially "mid-card status." I'm above you. And after this week, hopefully, I'll never have to be in the same ring as you again!
Finally, the exit of the garage is in sight, but right before he leaves, Ace stops and stares into the camera.
Ace Garrison: We all have plans, Reb.. None of us wants to stop at the Television title. But I'll take it. Because with gold, comes three things: status, money, and respect. And once I demolish you in the ring, Johnny, I hope you'll open your eyes and realize that you're way out of your league wrestling someone of my caliber. I'll be seeing ya, Johnny.. and I hope you're ready for the ass kicking of a lifetime!
And with that, Ace smiles before exiting the garage and waving down a taxi. He gets inside and the taxi takes off as the scene fades to black.
