RP rule discussion

Seth and me were emailing back and forth about the show tonight when we were talking about my latest RP in my match against Conviction. He had said it wouldn't count since two of my RPs were so close together due to this rule:

This is very important: On the day of the show, RPs MUST be spaced three hours apart to count. This is to avoid someone waiting until the day of the show and posting a bunch of RPs at once.

I had told him that I didn't think that rule was right and he ended up telling me to post in here to see what people thought. I completely understand why the rule is in place, however, I told him that I think there should be some kind of clause in there where RPs we write that are a response should be an exception.

I had written one today and then within 30 minutes Conviction responded to it, and then 30 minutes after that (time limits aren't exact, just throwing out random times) I responded to his.

I think in cases like that, it's fair to have them that close together. I understand that if I had posted one at 1pm and then another one at 2pm that they both shouldn't count since people would lump them together, but mine was simply a response to the one he wrote.

I have already told him that I don't care about this match tonight being affected by that rule (no offense to Conviction, you'll see why later), but I'm sure there would be other instances where I'd have a problem with it or other people would.

Seth had said that people didn't have a problem with this rule before when he first started it, but I'm pretty sure most people didn't think of what would happen if they simply responded to someone's RP within a couple of hours of their previous RP. I think that's the only time there should be an exception, because that's the only situation where I think there should be one.

Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

I was already done my RP before you did yours. I saw you had one up before I posted it and added a couple sentences. It isn't like I read yours, sat and wrote mine, and then you had to respond. I already said I don't care if he uses both. It's a good rule. It's your own fault for waiting this late to post any rps. I was just saying how you didn't follow it. I could care less if he used both or not.

What?? I wasn't fussing at you for posting that roleplay after mine nor was I accusing you of doing anything wrong. I also didn't know that you spoke to Seth about it, he never said anything about a discussion with you.

I think you're making assumptions and not understanding what I'm saying here. What I posted was pretty much my conversation with Seth and exactly what he told me.

My problem with the rule has nothing to do with how late I posted my roleplays and I think you would see that if you had read my entire post. It doesn't matter if it's the first day of the week for a match or the last day, the argument works either way.

I had already told Seth a day or two ago that I wanted to lose the match. It was only filler. I never actually cared about the match in the first place and only posted a roleplay today because of my storyline I have going (the Mr. Jackson character was supposed to appear last week according to my plans).

I think you took all this the wrong way.

Personally, I like the rule the way it is. It prevents people from posting both RPs late in the evening. I understand the arguments from both of you and I think there was some misunderstanding about how Hector came off in the first post. He wasn't bitching, just simply reiterating what Seth had said. On the other hand, I can see where if your opponent RPs you would like to respond, HOWEVER, this can be prevented with an RP on Sunday night (for a Slam card) or Saturday night (for a PPV) card, leaving you those 3 hours to respond. Thats just my 2 cents on this issue. I see both sides, but I like the rule the way it is.

I also have to agree that I personally like the rule the way that it is. In the 4 months that I've been part of this fed I've never seen this issue come up until tonight. And if it came up before my time, I never heard/read about it.

What does that have to do with my argument at all? You're taking this too personally. Try and look at this from a POV of you not even being in the match at all.

If this was a Wednesday and I posted something and my opponent replied to it, I think it's ridiculous to have to wait X amount of hours before I can post my response. I should be able to post it right then.

The rule was enacted to keep people from posting 2-3 roleplays on Monday afternoon before the deadline stopping someone from landsliding the other person. I'm saying the same thing can happen earlier in the week, too, which this rule does not account for.

Oh and by the way, I didn't even realize this rule was there or I would have brought this up earlier. I DO recognize this as my OWN fault for not knowing the rule was there, so do not confuse what I'm saying in this post or the thread in general.

If this was a wednesday it wouldn't be possible to landslide the other person because the other person still has a couple days to rp. Thats the point of that rule and the 2 rp max rule. I didn't even care to be honest with you. I was just letting him know so he could tell you. I even said he could use both.

It doesn't matter if the person has several days to respond to them with another roleplay. They should not be forced to wait x amount of hours.

The original intention is to catch people from posting multiple roleplays a couple of hours before the event. My situation is a perfect example of how the rule doesn't work right.

I never said take the rule away, I said make it to where that rule doesn't apply if the person is replying to someone else. If I posted a roleplay and then my opponent responded and then I responded with two roleplays in a row within 3 hours then the rule would once again apply and one of those would not count.

If this was Wednesday, you could do two RPs in an hour and they'd count. The day of the event? No. It's a fantastic rule and should have no exceptions. Butthurt. Lock.

lol 2 RPs in an hour on Wednesday? What does that have to do with my argument at all? I think what I'm saying went over your head if that's really your response. My argument has nothing to do with 2 RPs in an hour, the only mention I made of it was to show the difference between my situation and the reason the rule was made.

And what's with the claims of butthurt? It doesn't affect my character or my storyline and I already have losses on my record. How would one more hurt it?

I was just moving away from the day of the event to show how it wouldn't be a landslide so I can see how that would be confusing. My bad.

It's hard to landslide someone at all. On any day. RP limit and the 3 hour rule makes everything as fair as possible around here. I fought my ASS off for years to get these rules. Too good.

My suggestion: Make it a ONE RP on Day of event. No three hour shit, no two RPs, that's hax. One RP is allowed on Sunday / Monday (Slam) and that's it.
