Don't believe in yourself!
...believe in me, who believes in you!
Mikami: That...was inspiring.
Mikami is sitting in the waiting room of a hospital. The place looks deserted.
Mikami: I am going to see Rick Mad. He is still in bad shape after what Torture did, but he is getting better. I could not say the same about myself until now. When he was beaten down, so was I. Even for a while before that, I have felt like I have just been drifting from fight to fight with no real purpose. Gravedigger is no longer in control. Chris Avery has decided that he is suddenly all about truth and justice. He may be wrong, but at least he has an ally. I mentioned before that I expected that Ryan Daniels would have just given up by now. I myself feel like I am just barely hanging on. But then...
He shakes his head.
Mikami: I am still in awe. I never would have expected that from him. "Why me?" has been replaced by "Why not me?" As in, why not win tonight? You know, just to do something different? Life gave you lemons, and you said, you know what life, go fuck yourself. And then you kicked it in the groin. Every single cliche about never give up, never say die, condensed into one short burst of verbiage. One dose of attitude. One shot glass full of manliness. That sounded kind of wrong, forget it. My point is, we have been a team before, but never a true team, because we lacked understanding. Understanding, and the respect that comes from it. Or is it the respect first, and then the understanding comeds from that? Anyway...
He stands up and scratches his head.
Mikami: I know I am rambling, but, just for one night, I am going to put aside every problem I ever had with you. I said that I was saving myself for the important matches, but now this is an important match. Because we can win this. For one night, I am just going to say, you know what? I do not care. I do not care about injustice. I do not care about any missions or masters. I do not care about consequence. And I sure as hell do not care about expectations, assumptions, or odds. I will roll the dice, and bet everything on you and me. That is what kind of night it is going to be. It will be a night of doing the impossible, breaking the unbreakable, so on and so forth. At Slam, we stand up together and fight the power. And maybe, just maybe, I will gain momentum from this win, and then take back that United States Title. Then, we can go back to hating each other.
Mikami grabs a plastic shopping bag from the bench and walks off screen.
