Jack of Blades is a mathematical genius. Seriously, he's like John Forbes Nash but his crazy voices tell him to burn things rather than make friends with Paul Bettany.
With Jack's numerical genius established, it must be said that the Bastard Clown was confused when Creeping Death admitted to fearing the 'gematria'; a process which Blades understands as the assignation of numerical values to units of the linguistic alphabet. Irrational phobia or misunderstood definition on the part of Blades? Jack turns to the modern oracle, Wikipedia, for clarification:
