THE BOOK OF EXTREME
Hardcore ‘til Death
Part I
Good Morning, Hardcore.
Hardcore ‘til Death
Part I
Good Morning, Hardcore.
Michael’s eyes sprung open as they darted towards the alarm clock on the nightstand next to the bed. 6:12 AM. That was too early to wake up, but Michael felt energized. Michael felt like he was on top of the world, and he deserved that feeling. He turned back around and looked at Vidalia, she was fast asleep and Michael watched her for a few minutes before climbing out of bed and towards the bathroom.
Last night was different. There was no post match celebration. There was no alcohol filled night. They came back to the hotel and crashed. That was only a few short hours ago, and Michael should still be sleeping, but here he was taking a piss and thinking about breakfast. He finished up in the bathroom, washed his hands, and made his way back towards the bed where he sat on the edge.
There was a smile on his face, despite the pain that was coursing through his body from the monstrous eXit strategy that he hit on James Wolf to close Slam. Pain was something that he could deal with, plus he had a bag of pills somewhere in his luggage that was going to help with that, if needed. Michael didn’t think it would come to that, but he my just be riding a post match high right now.
Michael X was the #1 Contender for his HARDCORE Championship.
That’s right, after a little while on the shelf, Michael was on his way to earning his Hardcore Championship back. A championship that despite not being wrapped securely around his waist, he never lost. A championship that Jay Omega currently holds proudly, but he’s going to learn something about Hardcore once that bell rings.
This was right where Michael wanted to be. This was right where he deserved to be, right where head been fighting to get to since he walked back down that aisle and stepped foot back inside a WCF ring. This was where he was meant to be. This was where he was drawn to, that Hardcore Championship was calling him back home, and here he was to take it back. Here he was to show the world what HARDCORE really was.
Vidalia begins to stir and places her right foot on Michael’s back. Michael gingerly turns his head to face her. The pain might not be as bad as it could be, but there is still some lingering soreness that just won’t go away. But it will, it always does.
Vidalia: Why are you up right now?
She turns her head towards the clock to emphasize her point. It’s not even 6:30 yet, they’ve probably only had about 4 hours of sleep and even that was generous.
Michael X: Dunno. Can’t sleep.
Michael was too anxious to sleep. He had shown the world the last two weeks that he deserved to be Hardcore Champion and now he had to wait until Sunday to take back what was rightfully his.
Vidalia: The pain?
Michael smiles.
Michael X: Nope, I feel fine.
Her eyes widen, she expected him to be damn near broken today. She expected them to stay in Virginia an extra few days, but Michael was looking at her with a smile on his face like nothing even happened last night. But, Michael soared through the air, putting everything on the line to hit an exit strategy from on top of the stage. His body went through a war, and he was fine. No, he was psychotic.
Michael X: And in just a few short days, we’ll get to wrap that fucking Hardcore Championship back around my waist, right where it belongs. Right where it has always belonged. RIght where it has belonged since the first day I stepped foot inside a WCF ring and took out an entire team by myself.
They both smile.
Michael X: James Wolf had it twisted. He thought that I gave up on Hardcore to chase that World Championship. I didn’t have a choice in that match, I went in there and I won the goddamn match. But did I really win? Yes, I walked out with the biggest championship in all of professional wrestling, but at what cost? I lost two championships and 4 stones in order to do so. I went into that match with more to lose than anyone else, I went in there with everything that I had wrestled for the entire year, and guess what?
Michael paused for a minute.
Michael X: I would do it again, in a heartbeat if I had the chance. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want the hardcore championship. That doesn’t mean I’m turning my back against everything I have ever fought for. I was Hardcore Champion of the Year last year for a reason, and that’s because I made this belt special. I made this belt the best belt in the company. I made hardcore wrestling matter again, and I’ll do it all again.
Jay Omega doesn’t know what he’s getting into. He just fought me in a hardcore match and lost, but that was different. That was just a normal everyday match. That was just a weekly Slam match that doesn’t even matter.
Now?
We get to stand in front of the world on one of the biggest stages and fight to the death over a championship belt that I am not going to allow him to keep. That’s my championship, and I’ve shown the world countless times that there is nobody as hardcore as me. There is nobody that is willing to put their body through what I put myself through to win these matches. There is nobody that deserves that strap more than me,
Jay Omega is the hardcore champion on paper and nothing more. He doesn’t have that aura that the belt deserves. He’s had a nice long career here, but he’s out of his mind if he thinks for one minute that he is more hardcore than the KING OF EXTREME. He is out of his mind if he thinks for even one second that he’s going to be able to get the best of me at what I do best, and I’ve already shown the world that I deserve that belt. I’ve already shown the world what I can do to Jay Omega in that setting, and trust me, Vi, I’m going to rip him to shreds in the middle of that ring. I’m going to leave pieces of him all around that arena for the janitor to deal with. I’m going to leave his blood all over that ring, so that whoever must follow us, knows that they can’t ever actually follow what I did in that ring. I’m going to leave bits and pieces of him all around that arena because that’s what I’m capable of doing. I’m going to tear him down, and show the whole world that I am the greatest hardcore champion that has ever stepped foot inside that ring. I’m going to show the entire world WHY this is my division and WHY it has always been my division.
Vidalia, who looks exhausted, smiles. She wants to go back to sleep, but she wants to wake up and spend some time with Michael X this morning. They’ve got a long car ride ahead of them later and she can sleep then, but her eyelids still feel so heavy. Her stomach rumbles, though, erasing any and all thoughts about the day.
Vidalia: What’s for breakfast?
Michael smiles.
Michael X: Anything for a beautiful girl, like you.
Michael X always knew what to say. He might be a sadistic monster, but he was also a charmer. He knew what to do or say to put a smile on anyone’s face, but he meant it when he was speaking to Vidalia.
Vidalia: Shut up.
Vidalia wasn’t one for compliments, though, Michael could see that she enjoyed them. She just never knew how to react to them.
Michael X: You want to go out or should I go pick us up something?
She thought dragging herself out of bed, getting dressed, and going outside into the cold, and thought better of it.
Vidalia: Get us something, and wake me back up when you get back.
She batted her eyes at the future Hardcore Champion, and he smiled, nodded his head, and grabbed the keys to the van. There was some local diner near by where Michael would go get three large breakfast platters to bring back to their hotel. One for each of them, Ol’ X, Vidalia, and Freakshow. Freakshow would be driving them to New Orleans today, for this weekends ‘Til Death Do Us Part.
What a fitting event for Ol’ X to step into that ring with Jay Omega. Because death is what Michael had on his mind, the utter destruction of Jay Omega filled his head as he drove to and from the diner. This was a man that tried to humiliate Michael X in front of the whole world when he turned their match into a HARDCORE rules match, but it was Michael who had the last laugh. It was Michael who walked out of that ring with a smile on his face. It was Michael who showed the world how Hardcore is done.
And it was Michael who was going to give Omega another lesson in the eXtreme. It was Michael who was going to walk out of that ring holding the Hardcore Championship high above his head. It was Michael X who was going to elevate Hardcore Wrestling back to where it was the first time held that championship. It was Michael X who was never going to drop that belt again.
Michael knocked on Freakshow’s door and handed him his breakfast. Freakshow nodded, thanking Michael for buying. He nodded back and walked back to his own room. Vidalia was fast asleep and Michael almost didn’t want to wake her up, but what’s worse than a cold breakfast? So he nudged her a little bit, and rubbed her back. Her eyes opened, and she smiled, letting Michael continue to rub her back.
A few moments went by before she spoke,
Vidalia: I can let this go all day.
Michael X: Your breakfast will be mighty cold, Vi.
She rolled her eyes and sat up, swinging herself out of bed. She was wearing her pajamas which consisted of a pair of short shorts, and a light top. They had the heat cranked up but she still felt a bit cold once the blanket came off her body.
Vidalia: You’re lucky this time.
Michael laughed. He knew what he was doing, he knew how she worked and what he had to do to get her out of bed.
Michael X: I don’t need luck.
They both laughed. Luck wasn’t something that Michael ever shot for. Luck was a weapon of his enemies. Luck was what was used to beat him, because there was nobody better than him. He was the Greatest Competitor in WCF history, so in order to beat him, lady luck had to be against him. Luck was what Jay Omega needed to win. Luck was what James Wolf would have needed to win. Luck was an enemy of Ol’ X, but there wasn’t going to be enough luck in the world for Jay Omega to retain his championship. There wasn’t enough luck in the world for Jay Omega to even think about beating Michael X. Not at his own game, and especially not in the middle of that ring in front of the entire WCF Galaxy.
This was a pay per view match, and Michael X had a pretty solid record on Pay Per View, He had lost the world championship at Revenge to Odin Balfore, but had won every pay per view that he competed at since One 18. Two PPV losses all of last year, and this year was going to be even better. This year was going to be even stronger.
It all started here. It all started now. The destruction of Jay Omega. Hardcore Wrestling was something that Michael X was born to do, it wasn’t some game that this Space Cowboy had tried to turn it into.
Michael X: I’m just that good, Vi.
They both smiled, opened their togo boxes and began to eat. They had bacon, eggs, sausage, hash browns, and pancakes. Michael was a bit annoyed that he forgot the juice, but they had a bottle of orange juice in their mini-fridge for reasons unknown to Michael, he looked at Vidalia with a puzzled face.
Vidalia: Thought we would celebrate with screwdrivers last night,
They both laughed again. He did remember to get coffee though, as he reached for his cup that was still sitting in the cup carrier tray. He had forgot to give Freakshow his coffee, but Freakshow was never much of a coffee drinker, he preferred hot tea.
Michael X: Don’t worry, this weekend, we will have plenty to celebrate. The world will get to lay it’s eyes on Ol’ X and his Hardcore championship once again, The entire WCF locker room will fall back into fear as someone is going to have to face me for the belt eventually.
But, let's just focus on James for now. Let’s focus on the FALSE Champion. Let’s focus on the one that calls himself the OMEGA, but doesn’t deserve that name. Because I’m not finished with him, I’m not finished with what I started two weeks ago when I spoiled his hardcore homecoming party in the middle of that ring, and if he thought that was bad, he’s got some horrors awaiting him in New Orleans. Horrors that only I know how to bring. Horrors that will once again claim the Hardcore championship and latch onto it so tightly that there isn’t a soul on this roster that can stop me.
Michael and Vidalia dig into their food. This is Michael’s last big meal before he starts eating a bit cleaner, starts storing energies deep inside. His last big meal before he puts himself into the mindset that he needs in order to become a champion once again.
Jay Omega had no idea what was coming his way. He was expecting another thunderstorm but he was getting the storm of the century. He was going to be taken out by tsunami after tsunami. He was going to be taken out to sea and drowned. He was stepping into that ring with a madman who wasn’t going to stop until he was sure Omega couldn’t move anymore. Until he was sure that Omega wasn’t breathing. He was going to do everything in his power to make sure that Jay Omega left that ring in a body bag.
’Til DEATH Do Us Part, James,
