So if we're ROH then there is a larger wrestling entity out here that hijacks our wrestles once we become too famous? Then they change our names and then we lose anything that made us special in the first place? Yeah, Action Wrestling. lol

If I'm not mistaken, WCF is supposed to be a mid-level ROH type entity. Where we land in the wrestling world is vague, but in my head cannon, everything in our world exists in WCF world. I think we're bigger than ROH, WCF sells out arenas across the world, with attendance in the 30-40 thousand range on occasion. ONE is basically wrestlemaina size, we have our own network. WCF is big. Alright maybe New Japan then.

My take on this
It was used as a fun little segment and match. We all draw our character inspirations from somewhere in the real world. Kennedy, for example, is essentially British Charlotte Flair. Edwina, as you will find out, is drawn almost entirely from the Haunting of Hill House. Are any of our characters 100% original? Except for Corey Black that is?

My character is essentially me. If life had no consequences that is. I refuse to use my real name but yeah I draw inspiration from real life with my unique personality

Definitely not 100% original, stole a lot from Hulk and Halloween.

My character is a mixture of Stone Cold, CM Punk, Dean Ambrose, and basically a side of my personality that I don’t show often. What I mean by that is I’m usually a nice, and respectful guy. But, let’s say that that someone is pushing my buttons, I turn into Scott Slayer. Scott’s like my alter ego.

I know I'm late to the party, and I'm going to make a lot of the same points that others have made today, but I am a co-creator of the Mustache Family and Tony (Buff) is my best friend, so I'm going to get my thoughts out of my head.
First, I understand why some might not think introducing Joey Ryan as a character is a good idea. It could open up Pandora's box and allow others to start just introducing real people into the WCF. However, as Tony pointed out earlier, Howard Stern was in the King of All Media match two years ago. Seth Lerch had no problem with it. The WCF didn't crumble. There wasn't a mass exodus of members. Real people didn't just start flooding the roster. I don't really see the problem here.
Samuel, what I find laughable is that after all the things Tony or I have done with the Mustache Family, the introduction of Joey Ryan has caused you to slam the brakes and say "I can't take this as realistic."
Right.
So taking a nightstick out of a women's vagina is realistic. Mama Mustache forcibly pinning her vagina down on another man's face in order to get a three count and not face any legal repercussions is realistic. The whole idea of this carny family and their wild sexual escapades is realistic.
But using Joey Ryan in an angle kills the realism of the whole thing.
Because we here in the WCF deal in reality.
Not a fantasy wrestling league on the computer.
I get it now.
We have to be real.
Well, here's some actual reality. The Mustache Family is a spoof, a parody, a caricature of the professional wrestling business. Go back and take a look at the stuff we wrote in UCI and here in the WCF. Most of our characters are parodies of actual wrestling personalities that we weave into whatever stories we're writing.
To me, "Joey Ryan" is no different than Roid Rogers, Dave Felt-Her, Dic Flareup, Tinder Maballs, Cream Jeans Cokerlund, or any other wrestling personality that we've lampooned over the last two years. Tony took a real wrestling personality and made a caricature out of him. The only difference is that he used the guys actual name and didn't create an innuendo; and you don't know how this whole thing ends yet.
If what we do is not something you like, that's your right; but we don't do this for anybody but ourselves. Tony and I have only ever written the Mustache Family for our own amusement and to make each other laugh. Luckily, we've had two admins from two different e-feds who have not only supported what we've done but also gotten involved in Mustache Family storylines.
Frankly, if I were Jayson Price and I saw that you wrote "I don't like this so I might leave," I'd say "see you later then."
If I were Tony and read your complaints, it would embolden me that much more to stick with the name "Joey Ryan."
Fortunately for you, Price and Tony are more even-tempered, reasonable, and less stubborn than me. I, on the other hand, could really care less for your thoughts on our characters or how little you want to sell them.
WCF has been around for a long time and has probably gone through worse things than the introduction of Joey Ryan. In fact, I know it has. From what I can tell after reading this thread, most people don't seem to really care. If it bothers you that much, then don't work an angle with those characters. Don't read any Mustache material. It's that simple.
That's all I have to say about that.

My take on this is that maybe the rule could be amended to no real wrestler sign ups. That way if you ever wanted to see what would happen if your character ran into some other character you could. Or you could write a parody of an alternate universe with a comic vibe. I don’t think you should limit your creativity when a rule could be amended to reflect what it was originally designed for. As long as we’re not clones of Hulk Hogan I think we’re doing good Brother
