I think I could swing either way... Feb 29 of 80 your a generation X/y hybrid i am January 2 81 so i have parts of both when you really look at it. the term the business world uses now is Generation iY... these are the Y's that grew up with high speed internet and the youngest in these groups grew up with smart phones... they say these will be the hardest to manage and develop because they expect answer right away and they don't want anyone bossing them around but they want to be praised constantly for what they do.

'83 here (as I said, the tail end of Generation X). I didn't grow up with high speed internet, smart, or even dumb cell phones. I had rotary phones, three and a half channels on TV, didn't wear seatbelts, went outside to play, etc. I also realize I was raised as if I was born in the early 70's though.

Ewww....
But yeah, I've always identified as an Xer, though I do tend to get caught in the millennial struggles...

Damn my youth ducking rocked!!!

I was born in 1974...So, almost 42. Getting closer to Retirement Age.. lol
But, my character is younger, so.. Thus, why I light up the Internet Board, and will sometimes engage in sophomoric behavior. (I figured that is the ONLY way I can feel young again....lol)
And, it's funny how my character is SO polar-opposite than me in RL (well, except I am sarcastic and have witty comebacks,) BUT I amp my character up 10x worse.. Which, makes it a nice challenge for me to write..
And, in RL, I VERY Irish-American ..lol
I used the German gimmick only because I did live in Cologne, Germany for a short while as a Software Manager, and the HQ was there, but my satellite office was here in Pittsburgh. It's funny, because I see their ads every on these damn boards wherever I look all the time.. (Digital River...which, bought out my company element 5.)
They offered for me to move to the new HQ from the buyout (Minnesota) and I said hell no, and took the severance package instead.. lol

Is that even possible? lol Yea, and we all are in AoD...the irony. lol I started efedding in mid-90s. Then, 15 years of not doing it anymore because I wasn't sure if they still had RP efedding, and not those stupid Sim efeds.) I prefer RP efeds, because it forces me to be opposite of me OOC, and I was going to get back into freelance writing... Just have to find out how to get into it again..)

I never realized that until I joined AoD...and, it was ironic and funny, but it kind of helps with our way of thinking (because we grew up on the Golden Era of wrestling.. So, it makes it more enjoyable..you know?)

Good thing only your character is Deutsche... I'm a Pole... Well... Technically a 3rd gen Polish American, my Grandma was full blooded Pole born here...
Sadly I don't have much in the way of info on the family so the geneological aspect has been a pain in the ass...

You know Doc.. Pittsburgh is known for it's HUGE Eastern European heritage here.. Because we had the 'work' for the immigrants via Steel mills, Iron Workers, etc. So, we have Poles, Irish, Italians, Slovaks, Ukrainian, some German l, etc. And, Pittsburgh prides itself in our rich European history... Via festivals, private clubs, etc.
Both sides of my family are predominantly Irish, and my fiance has Irish heritage that dates back when they came here when it was still the Colonies (pre-states) which is cool..and, she has Slovak in her as well.. So, I'm like 3/4 Irish, some German, Scotch, Hungarian, etc. that makes up the other 1/4.
And, when I was in Germany..Cologne has ALWAYS been THE most freethinking, Democracy city there...even during that dumbass Hitler's reign..
There is a special place in Hell for that piece of shit... And, what he did to the Poles, Jews, and Germans... I wish he would've became more famous for his paintings in Austria, so we wouldn't have had that piece of shit put a huge black mark in history... I hope he's being tortured every minute, and not die...and, let the Devil have his way with that fucker. I absolutely hate him, and yes, trust me.. My character is polar opposite than me, but.. I needed a challenge.. And, I do find it difficult to write for The Baron.. But, this helps me be challenged creatively...

What's cool is that we have many legends that came from Pittsburgh...
And, I see Bruno Sammartino from time to time! Pittsburgh was like the #2 city for then-WWWF, then WWF, and now WWE. Vince Sr. had a lot of influence in Pittsburgh, and besides MSG, our Civic Arena was the other venue for their huge cards. That's why you see so many PPVs, Raws, Smackdowns, etc. here in Pittsburgh because we were the premiere 'hub' for WWF..AND, still is..
Awesome city here if you are a wrestling fan! (One notable match was here...when Undertaker through Mankind through the top of the Hell in a Cell match!)

Born in 81. Yes I remember when there was NO internet, let alone high speed haha! I also remember when we DID get internet you'd get yelled at for being on it if someone wanted to make a phone call. Also that ear piercing connection noise lol.
But shit even when we got internet, didn't use it that much. There was way too much to do and too much to see. Sports to play, dates to go on, trouble to get into. We actually experienced life rather than our camera phone experiencing it for us.
I miss the days of going outside and every kid in the neighborhood was out and about and we did things. We actually socialized for real and were productive with coming up with things to do. No one was ever bored. The only time you stayed home and played video games was when the weather was too nasty to do anything else.
And hell, you didn't WANT to stay indoors. There was too much life happening outside and we never wanted to miss a second of it.
