I like Johnson, and I associate more with Libertarian ideas anyways.. But, no matter what, there's always going to be an assload of gerrymandering & filibusters.. Which, as always, does not get any thing done on House or Congree floor... F bureaucracy. Too much damn red tape. (My short version of my thoughts at a late hour.)

Most of our laws are supposed to be done at a State level anyway. I agree with very much so, and solid & valid points. But, it still remains that is what is occurring. Especially when riders are tacked on, and then discussions of concessions pass through a sponsored bill that has riders that the said Rep. or Senator rather not have the riders attached, buy for the sake of their constituents.... They must agree to those terms. So, everyday on floor... It's a mere unavoidable paradox to try to help us citizens. But, yes, Sir Bates...I agree with you about the bills, etc. should be at the state level. *shrug* (For the record: Had a terrible night and have not slept yet, so I hope my thoughts were coherent and valid.) As always, I appreciate the mental challenges & thoughts you bring to the table. It definitely is refreshing to have a good intellectual discussion with you, and being an equal regarding our ideas...whether we agree or disagree. And, thus, I very much respect you and gladly can call you a friend, and also a great WCF mentor. *tips hat* |

I could see libertarian becoming a legit third party in our lifetime. Perhaps even replacing the Republican party in the two party system. I think this generation is very much interested in individual freedom and fiscal responsibility but without the religious aspect and making laws based on "moral compass" (essentially judging people and fighting to take away their individual freedoms because you dont personally agree with their lifestyle/actions).
I dont, however, believe Johnson has a chance in this election. Its all Hillary.

I'm a 42 year old, with a college education, and sometimes worked 4 jobs at a time..and have worked since I was 15. White collar and backbreaking blue collar jobs..and, worked myself through college.
And, I was a Bernie guy.. Because he actually is trustworthy, had sound policies, and cares about America. So, what are you saying? And, I'm a white male, Christian, straight, NRA Member, and my Dad was a Vietnam Vet and a policeman.. Blows that theory of the water.
