Date: Wednesday July 13th, 2016
Time: 3:35 pm
The scene opens with Captain WCF sitting in a comfortable leather recliner in a conference room at the WCF Headquarters building. The Captain’s white toothy smile is visible through the mask of his freshly laundered red superhero costume. Seated to Captain WCF’s left is WCF employee, Hank Brown, dressed in a professional grey suit, white shirt, black tie combination. The WCF cameraman standing with his equipment in front of the pair points to Brown, indicating that he’s rolling.
Hank Brown: “Ladies and gentlemen, I am WCF correspondent, Hank Brown, and I have the distinct pleasure of sitting down today with WCF fan favorite, Captain WCF. How are you doing today, Captain?”
The Captain chuckles a bit and nods his head a few times before responding.
Captain WCF: “I doing very good today, Hank Brown, thank you very much.”
Brown looks down at some papers containing notes he has written down before addressing Captain WCF again.
Hank Brown: “This past Slam, you defeated Heavy Metal Machine in what many consider a…heavy upset… With that win and previous major singles victories over Lilith and Sarah Twilight, Seth Lerch has put you in the main event in the upcoming Slam live July 17th from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. First off, congratulations on your first Slam main event match! How are you feeling going into this week?”
The Captain wipes away a small tear that has formed in the corner of his eye. He is obviously overcome with emotion about the situation.
Captain WCF: “Ever since I little boy, it been my dream to be wrestler. To be wrestling for WCF, such major organization, and to be good enough to be in top match of card is such great honor. I just want to go out there and keep making fans and friends proud of me, just like when I go out there every other week.”
Brown glances down at his notes again before continuing.
Hank Brown: “Now this is a six person tag match you’ll be participating in, with the TV title on the line. You will team with the former TV champion, Henry Spearman, and WCF veteran, Mikey eXtreme, to take on three current WCF champs, TV champ Brent Alpine, Hardcore champ Nathan Chambers, and the World champ Stuart Slane. Not an easy task whatsoever, do you feel up to the challenge?”
Captain WCF rubs his chin for a moment before responding to the question.
Captain WCF: “Superior Imperial Emperor Overlord Ruler of WCF, Sef Lich, has not give me easy match since I been in WCF. He recognize the power I have as real superhero of the people and he NEED to send three champions against me for them to have chance of beating me. Horny Spearman and Mikey eSteem aren’t friendly like the Captain, but they both very good wrestlers. I think when our powers combine; we can beat any other team in WCF!”
Brown giggles a bit at Captain WCF’s answer.
Hank Brown: “Very good, if you could pick out something in particular, what do you think will be your key to victory in this match?”
The Captain’s face becomes serious as he prepares to answer the next question.
Captain WCF: “The people. When Burnt Albino, Nothin Chambord and Stalwart Slime hear WCF Galaxy cheering for Captain WCF and not for them, they beat themselves. I love the people and they love the Captain, I put on great show for them and they know that I do everything to not let them down! Just because these men champions does not mean they can’t be beat. They have all lost in past, and I just need to show them that the people know who the true superhero of Dub See Eff is, and I can make them lose again!”
Brown nods at the confidence of Captain WCF before moving on to the next question.
Hank Brown: “Very good, now have you had any special preparation for this match, knowing the difficulty of the opponents you will be facing?”
The Captain flexes his “muscles” for Brown and the camera to see.
Captain WCF: “I been training at local martial arts dojo, Next Level Martial Arts, under great Master C. He show me many great technique to defend myself and strike back at opponent who foolish enough to attack Captain WCF. I also still go to WCF Performance Center daily to hone wrestling skill. I try best every day to become better in this business!”
Satisfied with the Captain’s response, Brown nods one more time and then points to Captain WCF as he looks at the camera.
Hank Brown: “There you have it ladies and gentlemen, live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Sunday July 17th, Captain WCF in the main event of Slam, you won’t want to miss it!”
Captain WCF stands up and strikes a superhero pose just before the cameraman stops the recording. After the camera is shut down, Brown laughs once more and holds his hand out towards the Captain. Captain WCF grabs Brown’s hand and gives him a firm handshake, bowing after he releases his grip.
Captain WCF: “Thank you, Hank Brown, for your time. It honor the Captain to have interview with you for entire WCF Galaxy to see!”
Brown shrugs.
Hank Brown: “The honor was all mine, Captain. You’re the one who’s been going out there and putting on the great wrestling performances. I wish you all the luck in the world in your next match… I just really hope you know that you’re in for quite a battle.”
This time, the Captain is the one who laughs.
Captain WCF: “Oh, Mr. Hank Brown, you a funny man. Every time Captain steps into ring in WCF, it is battle; this week will be no different. This is what Captain WCF lives for, I have wanted this all my life and I am up for any fight at any time!”
As Brown asks his next question, you can hear the concern in his voice.
Hank Brown: “But your opponents this week, you know they’re the best in the business, right?!”
Captain WCF’s face stares at Brown with raw determination as he strikes his ultimate superhero pose.
Captain WCF: “Sure they all champions of WCF, but me Mr. Hank Brown, I am THE HERO of WCF, BANZAI!!!”
