It's too bad all these movies are actually awful, haha. Like every horror icon has terrible movies. Well, the best horror icon is the 'Scream' guy in Scary Movie.. Token, slicin', and Dicin'.... Wasssssssuuuuuupppp? haha

We have a lot of Friday the 13th fans in WCF haha. I've actual been to Blairstown and Camp Nobebosco (where they filmed the original and some of the second movie)
It's really awesome to visit, though the camp which is still an active Boy Scouts camp is harder to visit these days because of the FLOODS of people who have shown up over the years to see "Camp Blood." You pretty much have to know someone or know the area well enough to get on the grounds.
But anyhow, been watching Friday the 13th movies since I was like 6. Of course I wasn't allowed to watch them at that age which is exactly why I wanted to see them even more lol.

And nobody mentions 'Halloween' or 'Jaws' where everything builds up. Technically more dramatic thriller than horror, but still counts in my book.

On that Destination America show, 'Ghosts of Shepherdstown,' I am actually going there in October, and have hotel room booked. Then, going to Antietam which is a few miles away, since I'm a Civil War buff.
Can't wait for that mini-vaca/road trip!

I'm not going to lie, Leatherface is the one who scares me the most, because the dude is based off a true to life killer and come on, somewhere in Texas there could be some crazy fucker with a chainsaw and sick family. No thank you, I will not be taking some back roads in Texas anytime soon.
I do love Jaws for the record as well. I watch it along with the Sharknados and Deep Blue Sea every Sharkweek.

Leatherface is based on Ed Gein.. he wasn't a giant man with a chainsaw. He was calculateding. The only thing they took from a real life killer for Leatherface is the wearing skin thing.

Finally, someone sides with me about Leatherface and Texas Chainsaw! Yes! BTW, funny side story, my Dad was a 'butcher' at a local store in my town when I was growing up, and for every Halloween the employees dressed up in costumes. My Dad? Yes... He had his 'work' bloody apron, a ridiculous curly blond wig, and messed up woman's make-up like the final scene in the original movie! And, he worked ALL day in the store like that! lmfao

Leatherface is based on Ed Gein.. he wasn't a giant man with a chainsaw. He was calculated. The only thing they took from a real life killer for Leatherface is the wearing skin thing. Many movies/books were loosely based on Ed Gein, like The Silence of the Lambs, etc. Ironically, I'm reading an Ed Gein book currently, one of many that I have. I also belong to the 'Serial Killers' FB group, etc. Bishop: Gunnar Hansen, who actually studied writing and poetry while performing as Leatherface in the original, wrote a book called Chainsaw Confidential. It was about how people were cast, what occurred during the movie, etc. I own the book and a very good read.

My fiancé and I got it from Redbox yesterday, and tried watching it last night.. Not even half in it, she fell asleep and I decided to write my assigned Slam match.. Boooooorrrrriiing! There were other, better movie variations of the true-life suicide forest in Japan. (I can't recall their titles of the top of my head.)

The Forest sucked, The Boy was better. I saw trailers for them back to back at the movies once so I always associate them now. The Conjuring 2 is pretty alright too. That about does it for the recent ones. Except The Witch, I guess, which slays ass. So good. Haha.

And, just saw Conjuring 2 at theaters on 4th of July... I was pleasantly surprised. It was good!

I haven't watched a new horror movie in a long time. I can't even remember the newest one I've seen.

Can we get some Netflix horror movie shoutouts going? Me and my girl watch a ton of Netflix horror movies, she loves possession shit and I love the slasher stuff... So GO!
I liked Hush, it was cool approach to the survivor chick story with a deaf chick.
