I'm guessing its a Generated Federation? Or a place which is run via video games?

It was a HUGE deal back in the day. I never got into it and I'm not entirely sure myself but I do remember it being huge.

That doesn't sound fun. If I knew my fate lied in a video game as opposed to my RP there is no way I would put much effort into the RPing aspect of things.

Eh, I know this isn't related to the title, but there also used to be mail feds - through REAL LIFE MAIL - from wrestling magazines. I never quite realized how those worked. Obviously no roleplaying was involved besides picking your characters and moves..

I mean, the internet wasn't around so it isn't like anyone knew any differently. I'm sure it was a scam for money, haha. I just wonder how it worked.

Play-by-mail Early versions of the game began in the 1980s using play-by-mail formats. Based on the moves and any strategies applied the adjudicator would then decide the outcome. Play-by-mail leagues often included a 'pay to play' model where handlers paid a fee per match and/or 'strategy' applied. The later expansion into email was a natural progression, often using the same mechanics as the pbm format. All I need to really know about that lol

Obviously no roleplaying was involved besides picking your characters and moves.. I tried to recruit real life friends to my first ever efed and they told me they had enough with their mail feds. I think (this was 16 years ago at least) they said something about selecting their moves and mailing it in every match. I didn't care to ask anything else because they turned down joining my efed so fuck them. I was in a trivia fed once. It operated by answering emails. Everyone cheated. It sucked. I got kicked out of a dice fed once for using the //roll-dice999-sides999 command. Standard RP feds are the only thing for me.

He flushed me down a toilet and did a splash from the top of the empire state building. I won that match and never joined a fed like that ever again.

Sometimes I wonder if other sports and/or entertainment fields have something as bizarre as wrestling has e-feds. Fanfiction is logical, real sports having their shit is logical... But "wrestling fans sure must love creative writing! let's have them compete at that!" makes no sense to anyone except those involved. It's crazy.

Idk man the fantasy and sci fi guys have their own RP set up. I imagine there is a lot less shit talking with them though.

geeksot.net was the site of gfed. It was a website where different feds, or "companies", competed on a weekly basis for the top places, so an over glorified monday night war if you will. You would do basically what you do here, create your wrestler, roleplay and then vote on other rps as by voting you helped boost the company raiting for that week. the more rps and votes on each rp,t he higher the raiting. geeksoft also used a wrestling simulator that idk if they had created it or what, but its one of the best sims out there. It closed a few years back which was also a huge deal. once gfed was gone, most of the handlers went to fedwars but then fedwars turned out to be a shit site because it was run like shit. i think fedwars is closed now Most of the great rpers outright quit rping after both gfed and fedwars closed now this link here isnt fully accurate because it was never updated when the CWO went to fedwars and the last world champion there was Paul Erickson, who was one of the biggest players on Gfed owning the top fed for two straight years before gfed closed, and it doesnt list all of the world champions after Kirisuto. ewrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Cwo
