I was trying to figure out a way to give back to the WCF and I thought all the great ideas were taken...but then it hit me! Nobody really "Reacts" to the show OOC from a fan perspective, so I thought I would give it a shot! Keep in mind that this is just ONE guys opinion though and doesn't really reflect how everybody feels about it. This isn't meant to offend anyone but more-so give feedback to a largely overlooked part of what we do: the weekly results. So without further ado...
KAZMONSTUH REACTS TO SLAM 5/18/15
EXTREME PINATA! (Taco Bowl Match)
Mama Spencer walks out of a hard fought jobbuh battle. Ben Dover, Dude Davison, and Whitey Houston are all eliminated from competition.
This Taco Bowl is seriously some funny shit, which is a nice break from our (mostly) serious Sunday Night Slams! Keep it up Digger!
Rating: 9/10
Occulo calls out Danny Anderson
Occulo comes out and talks some shit about DA who's been talking some shit about Occulo. He challenges him to a barbed wire steel cage match at ADM.
This segment would have worked better if the two collaborated on it. Occulo calls out Danny, Danny comes out and they jaw jack. Occulo challenges Danny, and maybe DA gets the cheap shot on Occy. I get the point of the barbed wire steel cage match, but these two have the potential to feud for the next month or so after this, so a barbed wire steel cage match makes the stakes feel a little too high out of the gate. Regardless, it's going to be a poppin ass match at ADM and a surefire way to get the us pumped up for the rest of the PPV.
Rating: 8.5/10
Kyle Kemp Segment
KK pinchin a loaf. Haha, just kidding. He was just jaw jackin' about how he was gonna pop off his opponents no sweat.
It's cool that you're putting forth the effort to get your character out there, but this segment didn't do anything to advance a storyline or a feud at all. All we saw was the same exact thing we've seen on Kemp's Twitter and in his promos. Try to switch it up a little bit when you're doing segments for the show.
Rating: 4/10
Dawson vs Kemp vs Celeste
Momentum trades between the three competitors before Kemp picks up the victory.
This was a great match between three relative newcomers. The aftermath was a little sketchy. Night Rider returned at the expense of Dawson/Celeste. Hope it develops into a feud of some kind, otherwise it's just a one sided beatdown.
Rating: 6.5/10
Danny Anderson Segment
Danny comes out and draws some heat from the crowd before recapping us with a "DA so far..." Tells us his story and then talks about how he doesn't know if he can follow TUB's lead anymore.
This was a pretty decent segment. It's weird that Occy and Danny both did a segment but they didn't collab on one. Would have made more sense to consolidate them into one whole segment and the dialogue would have been a little more tops, but what can you do?
Rating: 7.5/10
Snapz vs Jimmy Wicked
A standard wrestling match. A little back and forth before Snapz puts Wicked away with a Snapback.
Nothing crazy cool happenin here. Just Snapz making up lost ground after a few setbacks.
Rating: 5/10
Adam Young Update
Emotional send off for a severely injured Adam Young.
Boots in the middle of the ring was a nice touch, but we all know Adam Young will never die, haha. Still...
WE WILL MISS YOU! WE WILL MISS YOU! WE WILL MISS YOU!
Rating: 6/10
Katherine Pheonix vs Danny Anderson
Danny Anderson picks up the W over Pheonix after an assist from Celeste and a Headlock Driver.
This was a great match that showcased Danny Anderson's vicious and also the Celeste/Katherine feud. Although I am a little confused because wasn't Kat supposed to be in prison? Is this a stunt double? TF is even goin on? Still a great match and it advanced both characters stories.
Rating: 9/10
Gemini Battle Segment
Gemini comes out with the Mayor of MexiCali and draws some "heat" from the crowd.
Something about this didn't click for me. I think it was because Gemini was threatening to rape and murder this guys family, yet the crowd was still cheering for him? I know the Mayor is a douche or whatever and Gemini's doing the reluctant face thing while still trying to be full out evil, but this one missed the mark a smidge.
Rating: 4/10
Mikey eXtreme vs Logan
Mikey and Logan have a great match. Great back and forth and the commentary really sold it.
Mikey eXtreme is an underrated member of the fed. A big win over Logan gives him great forward momentum heading into ADM. Also hope Logan can find a new niche, stick with it, and get that passion back.
Rating: 8/10
Drunk Tank Segment
ICE has Danny Anderson on the show this week. They talk about Trios and what not.
I don't know why Danny did another segment if he was doing the Drunk Tank. Not really much difference between the two.
Rating: 5/10
Spencer Adams vs Vulgar
A great match between two talented newcomers. Vulgar picks up the sneak win at the end of the match which sets these guys up for a potential feud.
I liked Kemp coming out after the match and attacking Adams. Cool to see some of the new talent working together to create storylines. Bates came out for the save and it looks like Spencer Adams is a member of the DRG. Great after match segment.
Rating: 8.5/10
Oblivion/Marc Mayhem vs Howard Black/Occulo
This was a PPV quality match that happened on Slam. This match goes balls to the walls instantly. Bodies flying and bodies gettin bodied. HB picks up a huge win over Oblivion.
HB makes an incredible addition to the Sentinels. Those three and Mayhem are goin' places I'll tell you hwhat. Great win for the Senty's here, and neither team looked weak because of the match quality. That shit could have gone either way at the end.
Kaz's Match of the Night
Rating: 10/10
DRG Segment
Suspicions were confirmed and Spencer Adams is a new member of the DRG. Gemini claims himself the Grand Puba of the DRG. Danny gets up and storms off cuz yep.
Show is filled with DRG segments tonight. I mean it's cool but you start to overuse yourself and it spreads you out too thin. This one could have been saved for next week confirming Adam's membership in the DRG. Try limiting the number of segments you do a week. All the Ghostbusters references were pretty funny though.
Rating: 6.5/10
Isaiah Chavis/Dune vs The Poondock Saints
The two teams spend this match trading offense back and forth until Bobby gets in the ring and hits the RCAIRO on Isaiah and The Poondocks walk out with the win.
Not really a clinic in Tag Team wrestling, but it helped advance the Dune/Isaiah/ICE Beckman rivalry. WE! THE POONDOCKS! Showin' ya why we're the Tag Team Champions
Rating: 7/10
Trios Cup Tournament Match
Television Title on the Line
ICE Beckman/Joey Flash/Zombie McMorris vs Thomas Uriel Bates/Gemini Battle/Gonzo Murdock
TUB out the gate hard with some offensive on Zombie. A bit of back and forth and several finishers traded off. Bates nails Flash for the pin here.
DRG are flying high in this tournament. I kinda wish whoever wrote this match took a little bit more time making it a hard fought battle between these six men, but nigs get busy so I know how it is. Also a strange way for Flash to suffer his first pinfall loss, but now he can get that out of the way. Overall it was a pretty solid match and DRG advances into the finals.
Rating: 7.5/10
Torture Segment
Torture comes out and announces he will be in Mayhem's corner at Asesinato De Mayo.
This is pretty interesting. I wonder how Torture will play into the Hardcore Match at ADM. Will he really have Mayhems best interests in mind? Or is he pulling a Logan here? Only time will tell, and it gets me excited for the Hardcore Championship Match.
Rating: 9/10
Trios Cup Tournament Match
Jonny Fly/Steve Orbit/Corey Black vs Jayson Price/Scarecrow/Alex Richards
A great back and forth match between Old Pantheon/New Pantheon. I know that's not the true billing of the match, but it's about as close as you're gonna get without your eyes getting wet. Price breaks Black's elbow before Old Pantheon picks up the victory against their newer brethren.
This match was fun to read. Nobody really came out looking weak. Black looked like fuckin' Superman or whatever superhero he deems appropriate. He'll probably comment on this and let ya know. Price and Black's infinite rivalry continues here as Black/Orbit/Fly advance to the finals of Trios.
