The cool part though is that as a fed, we can come together and discuss things like this. Other feds don't even bother. Most are disconnected really and it gets really divided. This isn't just an efed ... it's a community. That's why we can do that.

Losing for me can be frustrating at times mainly due to the style promos I typically do. With the trash talking and trying to explain logically why I'm going to win, every loss is a potential way for my opponent to talk smack about me and make it harder for me to counter with my trash talk. So every loss is fuel for my opponent is how I end up viewing it. I eventually get over it. I have to admit though that the hardest losses for me was back when Gravedigger was under the mask as Hector Rodriguez. The character was designed to let me keep roleplaying without Gravedigger jobbing to everyone (which I was doing because I was burnt out). Then the character caught on and I liked him but I ran into some asshole named Jay Price who I lost to like every time. The reason why it was such a big deal to me to be losing was that the end result was supposed to be me earning a world title shot, hopefully win the belt and unmask as Gravedigger. Unfortunately the losses to Jay slowed that progress. But I don't regret losing to him. The whole angle turned out better because of it. Honestly though, I think when it comes to angles, unless you plan for win and lose situations, it can be really frustrating when you lose.

I don't think I've ever planned a storyline that depended on me winning or losing any match in particular. Sometimes I plan to have the matches but if I don't angle the endings, it usually doesn't affect the story whether I lose or win the matches.

When I first started e-fedding (over 13 years ago), I took it personally. Hell, even now and then I get pissed off about SOMETHING, but it's not so much the winning or losing. All I try to focus on now is trying to look good, getting something to work off of, and not getting completely SQUASHED. However, now I just want to have fun. I don't aspire to be the heavyweight champ because I don't have the skills. I just want to work well with others, try to have fun, and maybe someday get A belt to keep my wrestling tights up. Yeaahhh...that'd be greaaaaaaat.

Let's be honest. Win or lose, you're just in it for the burritos!

It is my DREAM to win a title, eat a burrito during said title match, and afterwards do something freaky with a hot chick involving edibles and power tools. And MY power tool. BOOYAH!!!!!!!

I've done the same thing, GD, roleplayed myself into a corner and written a story where after I lost I was like "Well great, what the hell am I going to say now" not because I was planning on winning but because it just flowed naturally. Its easy for me to deal with though because my character is basically a natural loser, lol. I was a big Rick Mad mark back in the day. For real. Having Gravedigger and Chester beat Creeping Death and Rick Mad for the WCF titles was a big highlight early in my e-wrestling career. I'm still being for real by the way. XD I don't think I've ever planned a storyline that depended on me winning or losing any match in particular. Sometimes I plan to have the matches but if I don't angle the endings, it usually doesn't affect the story whether I lose or win the matches. More for "flow" purposes. If Randy Orton and John Cena feud and Orton wins every match, the feud is flat. Like last year, I feuded with Oblivion and during our singles feud we had three matches. We wanted all three to be decided by promos. I won the first two matches. That feud was great with Oblivion, but I think it lost a little steam with me winning the second one. I didn't want to throw the match either so when I won, even though I loved holding onto the hardcore title longer, I was still like "well crap" in terms of the feud.

I've never gotten pissed off with losing a match, yeah I've been disappointed, especially when I've lost a title match in the past. There's always going to be a time when you're on a losing streak, a winning streak, gaining more wins than losses or suffering more losses than victories so if you lose the best thing you can do is pick yourself up, dust yourself down and focus on your next challenge. My debut here has been completely different from my debut into fedding altogether when I first joined WWA, I went undefeated for the first eleven matches and won the companies second most prestigious title in just my third match, here my win/loss record is three wins to eight losses, does that bother me? Not at all because I know how good the competition here is and I realise that it's just a game and not something that should be taken seriously.

IDK how long you've been 'fedding for but you'd do amazing well back in the day. Like the early 2000's. Just to throw that out there, for what its worth

When I started to actually read other peoples promos.. And really follow them week after week, thats when I realized the level of talent in this fed. I stay here because I'm able to RP with/against some of the most creative and brilliant people that I've come across in my life.

This game has taught me a lot of things over the years.
Most importantly, how to write better. I learned more trying to compete with my writing doing this than I did in a classroom, and I've spent a lot of time in a classroom and had a mom who was a teacher. Second off, how to deal with disappointment and being humbled. Relevant life skills, baby. Especially when I was doing this at a young age with very little maturity.
Now we just need to figure out how to monetize this whole thing and we'll all be good.

I don't think I have had one loss here so far that I didn't think was deserved. In my experience, Seth is an extremely fair judge. I find he does a superb job of balancing people's storyline interests. He's fair and precise but manages to stay very adaptable and easy going.
It seems to be a personality thing. A loss, for me, can dent my confidence and I often take it on my own back to unhealthy levels. Rather than just say 'right, I'm going to improve where I fell short', sometimes I can go into the mindset of 'I'm not good enough'. That's my issue that I'm working on finding a balance towards.
Conversely, some people deal with losses by externalising blame. I'm sure that I too could do this given the circumstances so I'm not judging anyone. But it generally isn't my pattern of behaviour.
The match writers here seem generally pretty good at preserving a losing wrestler's dignity (when they have RPed well but just fallen short) by booking them strong in the match.
A great point was raised about using losses to do something interesting storyline or character wise. Most obviously, a great heel could give some amusing excuse that just serves to enhance their character's pride and deviousness.
Bottom line, there's some amazing talent in the WCF. No one could possibly win every match IMHO. Some of the top guys here are professional writer quality. I have an MA degree in Creative Writing and won a writing competition against over 300 people but I still don't feel like I'm within the top talent bracket here. This is a great place to hone one's craft.

Honestly, I've had some losses that frustrated me. Some that I thought I should have won. But in the end, I realize that it doesn't matter. I'm not here for the win-loss count, nor am I here for the glory.
I joined for the competition, but I stay for the camaraderie.

Losing? Who cares about losing? You win and you get fat and happy. Losing makes you unleash the hell within your soul. Best elixir for writer's block ever.
