The Very Big Śpainards and James Wolf like this
Post by 'Jazzy' John McCarty on Dec 23, 2018 23:18:56 GMT -5
Twas three nights before Christmas
And Jazzy was training
For a gigantic match
Which I will get to explaining
But John, I hear you say,
Do you really have to rhyme?
I respond, hey,
Is it really a crime?
I mean, come on,
Where's your Christmas spirit?
Plus, it's fun, entertaining
And it will only last a minute
So Johnny over here
Was training hardcore
And he kept on training
Even if he felt sore
But why, I hear you say,
Would he do this to himself?
Here's an explanation
From yours truly, myself:
Jazzy felt home
At the House of Blues
But that house would soon be
One that he would lose
The House had burnt down!
Like that Cardigans song
So the Bartender had to move
Everything was going wrong!
But Jazzy had a plan
There was nothing to fear
Soon all of his worries
Would just disappear
But, alas, some guy
Called Rebuschatis, Jeremy
Had already bought the land
And super sad was Jazzy
But upon some negotiation
With this Jeremy guy
He had a chance to get
The House of Blues back, alright!
He just needed to be
Skilled in MMA
And now it's time for a
Sarcastic 'hooray!'
That's because he needed
To fight in a 8-man tourney
I don't know about you
But that would definitely hurt me
And it's an Iron Man tourney
Which really must suck
All in one day?
John's run outta luck!
Speaking of outta luck
He's against Odin Balfore
One of WCF's legends
It'll be tough, that's for sure
And that's why Jazzy
Is training so hard
'Coz he wants to win
Now I've done my part
All of this rhyming
Is actually tough
Now it's time to call quits
I've just had enough!
So there you go y'all
There is my rhyme
Now all there is to do
Is thank you for your time!

We now cut to the gym where we see Jazzy John training in the local MMA gym with Bert.
John: Are you sure you're qualified to teach me, Bert?
Bert: Yeah, I've played UFC enough times to know how to do it.
John looked puzzled for a second, but just ignored that and moved on.
Bert: So what are we focusing on today?
John: I wanna work on my striking style, but I worked on my boxing yesterday...
Bert: How about we work on kickboxing, eh?
John: Sounds like a plan.
After that, John followed Bert to a nearby vacant punching bag.
Bert: Okay, what I want you to do is kick it.
After a moment's hesitation, John weakly kicked the bag.
Bert: What was that?
John: That was a kick.
Bert: That kick was as trash as a Logan Paul video. Try again.
Once again, another effortless kick.
Bert: Booooooooooo. Kick harder!
John: But how? I'm not a kick-y person!
Bert: Well... How to do...
...
Bert: Got it! Channel your anger into it! Who are you up against this week?
John: Odin Balfore.
Bert: Okay, channel all your emotion into that kick!
John bounced around, hyping himself up. He lifted his foot. All of a sudden, the world around him slowed down.
John <to himself>: Okay, I'm not gonna lie, I'm nervous. 83 wins in the WCF, plus another 700 wins elsewhere. So that's 783 wins out of 890 matches. That success rate is insanely high. He's also closing in a thousand matches too, so he's pretty much a damn legend in the WCF.
But even though I'm nervous, I'm feeling very confident. You saw me last week. Adam Young, the so-called 'GOAT' was conquered by yours truly. I believe everyone's calling me the 'Jazzy Goat' now. To be honest, I really don't want that name to stick around.
Now that they've seen me at my full potential, beating Adam Young, WCF are putting me in quality matches. This McCarty Vs Balfore match is going to be classic. Two very skilled wrestlers going head to head.
Adam Young was my first stepping stone to success. Now that I've beaten one legend, I'm going to beat the next one. And the one after that, and so on. Soon afterwards, before you know it, I'll be your World Champion. I'll be the face of WCF (and yes, being World Champion means you're the face of the company, James Wolf) and I'll be the king of the locker.
But back to Odin. He's a legend, a Titan of the WCF, but the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Odin will underestimate me. I'm much more skilled than I look. Adam Young fell into my trap, and now, Odin Balfore will too. So I'm very ready to win.
So, Odin, this kick is dedicated to you.
Finally, the world returned to its normal speed as John completed his kick, and the punching bag flew off the chains.
Bert: Whoa John! What a kick! How did you do that?
John: I just did.
Bert: If you put that much passion into your match this week, you'll destroy Odin! If you beat him, it'll be huge! He's one of the top 3 wrestlers in the WCF ever!
John: You know what, Bert? It doesn't matter that Odin is one of the best 3 in the company ever. It doesn't matter he's a multi-time World Champ, it doesn't matter that he's won almost 800 matches in his career, because all that matters is what happens in the ring. All of the records disappear as soon as you get inside that ring. So yes, Odin does have the upper hand when it comes to records and stuff, but that means nothing. When we get into that ring, it's a battle of skill. And I just happen to be very skilled.
So our friend Odin will soon be like that punching bag, on the ground, looking at the ceiling. All because he was too confident, thinking it was just another squash match.
Bert and John then just stand there, looking at the punching bag.
Bert: Well, I'm calling it a day.
John: Already? We only just started training?
Bert: John! It's almost Christmas! I've gotta go shopping, buy people presents, come on! Take some time off. It's the holidays! Be jolly and festive or whatever.
And on that note, Bert left the gym, leaving John by himself.

The sad truth was, a Christmas with Jazzy John was a lonely one. He wasn't looking forward to it. This time last year, he thought that he would have a girl with him to celebrate Christmas with, but it was yet another Christmas dinner for one at his apartment. Now was not the best time to be John McCarty.
So you guys go out there and have yourselves a Merry Christmas, and hopefully, not a jazzy one.
NOTE: Would've been more to this RP, but it's Christmas! More spending time with family!
