Live From The Mobile Civic Center In Mobile, Alabama
The Mobile Civic Center. Backstage. A camera moves steadily down a brightly lit hallway. It stops in front of a steel door marked “Guardians”. After a moment's pause, the door swings open to reveal Alex Richards, Noble Savage, Damian Kaine, and Bonnie Blue ranged in a semicircle, deep in discussion.
Bonnie Blue: So it's agreed, then?
She looks to her fellow Guardians, seeking consensus. With a dark scowl, rubbing at his neck where a phantom pain reminds him of the humiliation he suffered during the Hellimination match, Damian Kaine nods solemnly.
Her gaze goes next to Savage.
Noble Savage: His reckless glory-seeking could have jeopardized the outcome, Ymir's chosen or not. I say yes.
Bonnie listens, nodding in acknowledgment, before turning to her tag team partner.
Alex Richards: Noble's right. Besides, I just plain don't like the guy. He'd sell his own mother out for another chance at gold and you know it.
Bonnie Blue: Having met the woman, that's not saying much. But yeah, ya gotta point. We gave him a chance, and he --
Abruptly, the young goddess falls silent as the door opens again, and in walks Stephen Singh, a cocky grin plastered across his face.
Stephen Singh: What's up, nerds?
He hesitates, looking at four solemn faces, as the door swings shut behind him.
Stephen Singh: You guys look like they cancelled Firefly again. Is something wrong?
Kaine, Savage, and Richards glance expectantly at Bonnie, who fixes Singh with a malevolent gaze. The smile fades from his lips. Alex Richards moves to block the exit. The Time Witch gives her fellow Guardians a single, perfunctory nod… and all Hell breaks loose!
Damian Kaine lays into the unsuspecting Singh with a devastating right hand! The Golden God shakes it off and levels a punch of his own at Kaine! The two men trade fists, back and forth, like men possessed. As Singh begins to get the advantage, Noble Savage moves in to join the fray.
A hard elbow to the temple rings Stephen's bell. Savage follows up with a knee to the gut that doubles him over. Together, Kaine and Savage lift Singh into the air, then drop him across Kaine’s knee in an aided backbreaker. Singh covers up as Savage lays boots to him, while Bonnie picks up a steel chair and offers it to Damian Kaine.
Kaine reaches for the chair, uncertainty reflected in his eyes as he considers the options. But before long, the inner conflict is resolved as he comes to a decision. Hefting the chair, he raises it high overhead, nodding at Noble Savage as she moves out of the way -- and brings the chair crashing down hard over Singh’s back. Again and again, but still not satisfied, until a wicked idea puts a smirk on his face.
Damian Kaine: Get his legs, guys.
Alex and Savage go to Damian’s aid, Richards holding the prone form still while Noble Savage straightens out Singh’s legs, giving the youngest Guardian a clear target. Kaine lifts the chair once more, taking careful aim at the exposed knees. He shifts his grip, and drives the chair down, edge-first, with all the force he can muster.
Finally, satisfied with his handiwork, Damian Kaine drops the weapon, and the Guardians file out of their locker room, leaving the battered Singh on the floor without even a backwards glance. The cameras then switch to ringside at the announce table.
Zach Davis: Welcome to Slam! Wow! What a way to open the show, apparently the Guardians not happy with Stephen Singh's antics at Helloween.
Freddy Whoa: You think?! We need medics back there now, Singh might be seriously injured!
Zach Davis: And while we wait to hear about the status of Singh, it's time to get to the show!
