Live from the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho
Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street” blasts over the PA as Slam goes live. Pyro explodes and the crowd goes wild as the camera sweeps around the arena.
Zach Davis: Hello everyone! We’re here LIVE from the CenturyLink Arena in beautiful Boise, Idaho! We’ve got a jampacked show for you tonight! And with only seven days before Ultimate Showdown 2018, there’s no telling what’s set to go down!
The music fades as Corey Black parts the curtain and begins walking toward the ring.
Freddy Whoa: Here comes the acting owner of the WCF, Zach! He’s got a mic in hand so it’s safe to assume he’s got something to say.
Zach Davis: Your observation skills never cease to amaze me, Freddy.
Black enters the ring and quiets the crowd before holding the mic up to his lips.
Corey Black: Welcome everyone!
Corey Black: I know you all didn’t come here to here me yap, so I’m going to get right down to it. We’ve got a special show for you tonight, and one or two surprises up our sleeve. First of all, next week at Ultimate Showdown, there will be not one but TWO Showdown matches...one to determine the belt holders, and another to determine the #1 contenders for the Titles, an Altimate Showdown, if you will.
Corey Black: Two Showdowns, twice the fun. As for the Altimate Showdown, the participants are as follows: James Wolf, Samuel McPherson, Matthew Black, Eccentrix, and last but not least...the loser of the Odin Balfore vs. Bonnie Blue matchup tonight! So needless to say, even in defeat, a huge opportunity still exists next week for whoever loses that high stakes matchup tonight.
And as for the Ultimate Showdown match, obviously it will be all the Champions: Dune, Michael X, the winner of Kid Dynamo vs. Kylie Moore tonight, Stephen Singh, with a wildcard of Odin Balfore or Bonnie Blue, and -
Dune: Teo Del Sol.
Dune parts the curtain, microphone in hand.
Corey Black: What?
Dune: Teo Del Sol is in the Ultimate Showdown match. You saw what he did at XIII, just like the rest of the world did. The man came within a cunt hair of defeating me for the World Title, and if he proved anything it’s that he deserves more than anyone to be one of the TWO wildcards in the Ultimate Showdown match.
Zach Davis: Dune is going to bat for Teo Del Sol, and for good reason!
Black nods his head, glaring at Dune as he contemplates the idea.
Corey Black: Hmmm. Teo Del Sol…
Corey Black: …Wildcard number two next week.
Freddy Whoa: WHOA!
Dune nods before turning back toward the curtain. But just before he disappears, a familiar theme hits over the PA.
Zach Davis: My word! It’s Roy Speede!
Speede parts the curtain, nearly slamming into Dune. The two share a look before Speede holds out his hand and beckons for Dune’s mic. He hands it over, and the two are face to face as he speaks.
Roy Speede: I’m back, and I’m here to claim the WCF World Title because let’s be real, my time with that belt is long overdue.
Dune glares at Speede before Speede turns to Black.
Roy Speede: Now, I’m not gonna fuck up your Ultimate Showdown match. From the sound of it you’ve got all the wildcards you can afford. But seeing as there’s a Contender’s match, you can bet your ass I’m gonna be in that ring fighting for a shot at the belt!
Corey Black shakes his head.
Corey Black: Well...seeing as we’ve already added one more participant to the Ultimate Showdown match, I can’t see the harm in putting your name in for the Altimate Showdown match.
Speede nods, and he exits the stage in front of Dune, who follows behind him shortly thereafter. Corey Black exits the ring and starts back up the ramp as the crowd cheers.
Zach Davis: Two Showdowns next week! What an event Ultimate Showdown promises to be! It’ll be Dune vs. Michael X vs. Stephen Singh vs. the winner of Dynamo/Kylie Moore vs. Teo Del Sol vs. the winner of Odin Balfore/Bonnie Blue tonight!
Freddy Whoa: And the Altimate Showdown match will be the loser of Odin/Blue vs. Roy Speede vs. Samuel McPherson vs. Eccentrix vs. Matthew Black vs. James Wolf!
Black disappears behind the curtain before Slam cuts to a commercial for Ultimate Showdown.
