Shock
We open up on Kyle Kemp getting dressed in the locker room. He just took a shower and the shock and disappointment of losing to Bonnie Blue still run through his body. He can feel a humming in his head and it’s like he’s his mind is rolling around in a dryer. The question he keeps asking himself is where does he go from here? He’s lost the Omega Title. He’s lost a chance at the World Title. Yes he’s still a Tag Team Champion but it’s not like a shot at either the Omega or World is coming back around anytime soon. Plus with Teos current state of mind, keeping the Tag Team Titles is looking more and more bleak.
Just look at this week. Teo went out of his way to challenge Dune to a match, poking the bear. Now it looks like he’s gonna have to fight him next week. What he doesn’t realize is fighting these guys before a potential title match is giving away every advantage they have. Kemp has never fought Wade and he fought Dune once two years ago. That’s an advantage for them when it comes to the ring.
Kemp pulls on a gray long sleeve shirt when he is interrupted by Hank Brown. Hank hustles in and has a smirk on his face. “Rough night Kyle. Sorry about the match. Can we get some reactions from you?”
Kemp takes a deep breath. As much as he wants to say no and storm out, he knows what’s better for his image. For his brand. He’s gotta answer the rough questions. “I got you Hank.”
Hank nods to his cameraman and he begins to roll. “Ladies and gentlemen we are live in the locker room with Kyle Kemp. Kyle, we know you had high hopes for moving on in the number one contenders tournament tonight but it was just not meant to be. What are your initial thoughts?”
“Well Hank I can’t really believe it’s over. I thought I would be able to move on to the finals but it was just not meant to be. My bad ribs and the overall effort by Bonnie Blue was just to much for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not making excuses when I bring up my ribs. Bonnie brought it and she won fair and square. Kudos to her but now it’s time for me to go back to the drawing board.”
“We appreciate your humility Kyle. It does look like trying to turn back Dune and Wade Moor is your next task as they come for your Tag Titles. Thoughts on any upcoming matchup against them?”
“Great question. Both of those guys are great competitors.”
Before Kyle can go on he is caught off guard when Hank interrupts. “Then why did you and Teo make a big deal about them having to earn an opportunity against you guys?”
“It was not because we don’t respect them. It’s a matter of principle. We’ve had to scratch and claw for every opportunity we’ve ever gotten. They were just trying to rip each other’s heads off at One and now they’re a team? You’ve got to prove you can work as a team before you get a shot at us.”
“Well you won’t have to get into the ring with one of them next week. You’ve got Dune in a one on one matchup.”
Kemp snickers, “I think you’re mistaken. Teo is the one that challenged Dune. He has Dune next week."
Beads of sweat begin to roll down Hank's neck. He didn't realize Kemp hadn't seen the card yet and hadn't seen that he in fact drew Dune. "Ummm....well I've got to correct you Kyle. You have Dune next week. Teo is getting a shot at Wade Moor."
Kemp stares at Hank as the smirk turns into anger. He begins to shake and his eyes turn cold. "This is a joke right? I didn't go out and call out Dune. I didn't go out and run my mouth. I was focused on the tournament and this is what I get? Are you serioius Hank?"
"I'm really sorry Kyle."
"Unbelieveable!" Kemp reaches down and grabs his bag before storming out.
Hank is left holding the microphone and then realizes he's still being filmed. "Well there you have it guys. It looks like trouble in paradise with our Tag Team Champions." Hank nods to the camera as we fade away.
Called Out
I don't believe this. That's what keeps running through Kyle Kemp's head as he marches up and down the hallway of the arena. He hasn't left since he talked to Hank and that's because he is searching for Teo. He is going to get to the bottom of this and this is bullshit. Kemp is throwing open doors, scaring different backstage employees as he looks like a madman. He finally throws open the last door at the end of this hallway and there is Teo, sitting on a chair. He's enjoying a hamburger after his match with Jack Smith. Kemp walks up to Teo who looks up with a smile but Kemp smacks the burger from his hand. "Are you fucking kidding me Teo? Are you trying to play with me?"
"What the hell man!?" Teo stands up and stares Kemp right in the face.
"Don't what the hell me! You set me up for next week!"
"What are you talking about?"
"You riled up Dune and now I have to pay the price! I have to fight Dune next weeek even though you challenged him to a match. What the hell man? We are supposed to be a team! Remember when we talked about thinking things through and not popping off for no reason? It seems like you've forgotten how important these Tag Titles are!"
"Forgotten? Are you joking me?"
"I'm not joking. You listen to me you son of a bitch. Ever since you got this new attitude you have had that Omega Title in your brain and you and I both know that that's your real focus. Not our Tag Titles. That's how you took that belt from me in the first place. I was putting this team first and you were putting yourself first!"
"Brother Kyle I was doing no such thing."
"Oh that's a tone change! Suddenly it's Brother Kyle when I bring up the truth!"
"You are out of control. It's not my fault that you have to face Dune this week. I wanted him."
"You wanted him in a non title match but the second he wants the title on the line, it's real convenient that I'm the one facing Dune and you are running away."
"Think about what you are saying!"
"You think about this. We are Tag Team Champions. You need to get your head back in the game or we are losing these belts!" Kemp walks out of the locker room, leaving Teo to sit and wonder what exactly just happened.

1-0
Dune vs. Kyle Kemp. This is a joke. No offense to you Dune but we shouldn't be having this match. It should be you and Teo. I god damn should be. I didn't want this. I didn't want it. All I wanted was to get a fair shake and once again I'm not. I'm getting screwed by my own tag team partner! I've been set up and I should've seen it coming. I should've known not to trust Teo Del Sol. I knew a bitter rival could never be a tag team partner. That's something you should look at Dune. Wade may be your teammate now and you guys can be buddy buddy but understand this, he will put a knife in your back if he gets the opportunity. He will shove the knife in your back and take your title. Just like Teo did to me. Now I'm stuck teaming with him as I float in limbo now. It's bullshit.
I know that you expect me to go on a rant about how I'm better than you and better than this person and better than that piece of what you do but the reality is this, I've beaten you once and I'll beat you again. Trilogy Cup. First Round. I won and you lost. It's plain and simple. Will it happen again? I don't know. I do know that I'm going to give it everything I have on Sunday. I am going to have treatment on my ribs and I'm going to hope taht I'm 100%. Let's hope that I am. Do you know what's not 100%? My relationship with Teo Del Sol.
I know you guys are coming Dune and I know that you are wanting these belts. The matter of fact is this. The belts aren't on the line on Sunday so it's all about pride. Pride is what I have and I'm going to give you everything that I have. I'll see you then.

An Offer
A few days have past and Kemp is now sitting in the coffee shop around the corner from his apartment. He is sipping his coffee and enjoying a moment of tranquility. This coffee shop has always been his safe haven. They have always taken good care of him and they have always kept his privacy a point of emphasis. Kemp hasn't gotten over the fact he has to face Dune this week and it continues to drive him mad. His thoughts are interrupted when a man comes up and sits across from him. He looks at the man before saying anything. He is black with a shaved head and a groomed goatee. He is wearing a gray suit with a black dress shirt. The man smiles at Kemp as Kemp says, "What's up man? Can I help you?"
"No Kyle but I think I can help you. I'm Mark Johnson and I'm an agent."
Kemp rolls his eyes. "I've heard this pitch before. I don't need a con man to try to "take care" of me."
"Someone is quick to rush to judgement."
"No. I'm someone that has seen plenty of people get burned in the past."
"I'm sure you have but I'm not one of those guys. I'm an agent and I have one sole reason to help you Kyle. You need me and I need you."
Kemp tilts his head and looks at him. "Continue."
"I won't lie to you Kyle. I just recently left the agency I worked for and I want to start my own agency. I want to represent the right stars and you are exactly who I want to sign as my first client."
"Why me?"
"I've seen the way you've changed over the last year man and I have to say that I'm impressed. I never expected you to come back from the past problems you had. I expected you to flame out at wrestling and I expected you to go home and live off your parents money because your reputation was shit. Instead you have reviatalized your brand, your image and your career but you need more help now. You need someone to keep the momentum going. You need me."
"What would you do for me?"
"I would help you with moving forward. I would help you with getting some endorsements. I would help you with furthering the awareness of the Kemp Foundation. I would help you with your wrestling career."
Kemp nods and likes what he hears. "Leave me your card. Let me look into you and I'll call you for a meeting."
Mark nods and drops a business card on the table. He reaches across the table and shakes Kemps hand. "Thanks for your time man. Just give me a chance." Mark walks away and leaves Kemp staring at his card.
