Tuesday March 21st
6:45 am, Las Vegas, Nevada
The Vic Vegas Penthouse Suite
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
(The sound of the alarm jolts Vic out of his slumber. Vic, clad in his Las Vegas PJs, sits up and rubs his eyes a few times. He reaches over and grabs the remote from the night stand and switches off the alarm while simultaneously turning on the tv and drawing the electronic curtains up to reveal the Vegas skyline.)
Vic: Feels good to be home.
(Vic's taking advantage of this week's Explosion PPV being in his hometown by spending most of the week relaxing and mentally preparing for Sunday night where he will take on Trey Carter and Adam Bass for the Alpha Title match. The only problem is, Vic's a bit uneasy.)
Vic: Yo Pit!
(Vic's bodyguard, best friend, confidante, man of few words, The Pit Boss, swings around the corner and cracks his knuckles as if he's about to pound 20 guys into the floor.)
Vic: All good big guy. Hey listen, I really need to get my head right for this match this week and I've been hearing about some motivational speakers in town for a convention. I was thinking I might go check one of those out.
Pit: ...
Vic: Yeah, yeah, I know I'm super confident, amazing, quick witted, undefeated, etc. etc., but this is a match for the title Pit, I need that added edge, you know what I mean.
(The Pit Boss nods and heads back to the living room. Vic heads to the bathroom to handle the usual shit, shower, shave routine. As he walks out, The Pit Boss tosses him his iPad which almost clocks Vic in the head.)
Vic: Whoa! A little heads up next time eh? What's this? Tony Robbins: "Unleash the Power Within" and he's in Vegas tomorrow night? Hmm interesting... listen, I can't be seen at this thing though. What would the WCF think if their rising star needed self-help advice from some tv infomercial scam artist?
Pit: ...
Vic: Deal... hats and fake mustaches it is.

Wednesday, March 22nd
7:00 pm, Las Vegas, Nevada
MGM Grand Convention Center
(Vic and The Pit Boss are standing out front of the MGM Grand Convention Center wearing casual clothes and baseball caps pulled low over their faces and Ray Bahn sunglasses. As they start to walk in to the convention center, they look off to the side and notice a giant poster advertising the Explosion PPV which will be held at the same convention center/arena on Sunday. In the lower right hand corner is a photo of Vic Vegas, Trey Carter and Adam Bass.)
Vic: Damn it Pit! That stupid poster is going to blow my cover, let's hustle!
(Vic and Pit Boss speed walk, which makes them all the more obvious. A few fans in town for Explosion notice them, but stay out of their way as they don't want to end up as Pit Boss roadkill. They find the convention center and slide into the back of the room and have a seat. There are a few thousand people in this large ballroom all here searching for the answers to unlock that power from within.)
Tony Robbins: Good evening everyone and welcome to "Unleash the Power Within!"
*Applause*
Tony Robbins: Now I know what most of you are thinking right now... Tony, I know I've heard all of this before. Tony, what could you possibly bring to the table that will help me come out of my shell. Well in this 3 and a half day course, you'll learn everything you need to know to make that breakthrough.
(As those last few words come out of Tony's mouth, Vic's jaw hits the floor.)
Vic: Three and a half FUCKING DAYS!?! Pit, what the hell man?! I don't have three and a half days to hear this scam artist out!
(Pit Boss crosses his arms and frowns. The commotion made by Vic Vegas in the back has caught Tony's attention on stage.)
Tony Robbins: You sir... in the back... can I have your name please?
Vic: *mumbling* Fuck my life...
(Vic looks around and surveys the situation. He can tell a few people have already noticed who he is and there's not much he can do at this point. As he looks for an exit, one of the brainwashed stage assistants rushes over and pushes a microphone in Vic's face.)
Vic: Uh, actually I'm good with just listening.
Tony Robbins: Tsk, tsk. I can already tell it's a good thing you chose to attend today sir. You know what, come on up here. We are going to unleash your power from within in the next 10 minutes since you clearly need to learn to believe! Your story will be the example for my seminar series this week. Come on up, don't be shy. Let's give this gentleman a round of applause.
(Vic looks around and eventually caves in to the applause from the crowd. He slowly walks towards the front of the stage. A few people try to snap selfies with him as he walks by shoving their phones out of his face.)
Tony Robbins: What's your name sir?
Crowd: Ve-gas! Ve-gas! Ve-gas!
(Clearly there are some WCF fans in attendance as they chant Vic's name before he can even spit it out.)
Tony Robbins: Vegas? Is that your name or are they just happy to be in Las Vegas tonight?! Hahaha.
(Vic, slightly annoyed by the fact that Tony is oblivious to who he is and partially annoyed that he thinks he's a smart ass.)
Vic: Vic "The House" Vegas. Professional wrestler, Las Vegas' finest, soon to be WCF Alpha Champion. I'm kind of a big deal Tony... people know me.
Tony Robbins: Oh, wow. You mean that wrestling stuff still exists huh? Had me fooled.
(Vic glares at Tony.)
Tony Robbins: So what brings you here big fella? Clearly you're looking to unleash your power from within.
Vic Vegas: I was just coming to check out the arena before Sunday night and I stumbled in here by accident, that's all. Whoops wrong venue, sorry for the inconvenience.
Tony Robbins: No no no! Stay put young man, because I can see it.
Vic Vegas: See what?
Tony Robbins: I can see the doubt. Yes sir, I can see the doubt emanating from your pores. I can see the uncertainty glistening on your forehead. I can feel... oh yes, I can FEEL the negative vibes coming off of you Vic. And that's something we need to harness, it's something we need to turn upside down and right back around into a positive energy... a positive, POWER! See where I'm going here Vic, we need to unleash your power from within!
(Crowd cheers)
Vic: Ok, let's hear it then Mr. Big Shot. I'm listening.
Tony Robbins: So you have a match this weekend... against not one, but two opponents. That's a lot of energy working against you Vic. First things first, you need to believe you can do this. Do you believe Vic?
Vic: Of course.
Tony Robbins: I said, do you BELIEVE VIC!!!??!!!
Vic: Yes!
Tony Robbins: LOUDER!!
Vic: I BELIEVE!!!
Tony Robbins: Now Vic, part of unleashing this power is being able to express it not only physically, but verbally. There are seven steps to effective public speaking Vic. I mention these because if you can communicate your power, you will be able to establish it in the ring, it's all part of the unleashing process. Step 1 - Own the stage. Can you do that?
(A stage assistant tosses Vic a notepad and makes a hand gesture as if to write something on it. Just as Vic motions that he doesn't have a pen, another stage assistant tosses him one on cue. Vic begins to jot some notes along with the other five thousand in attendance.)
Tony Robbins: Step 2 - Make a big claim. Capture their minds with a bold statement. Step 3 - Inspire them, don't preach at them. Step 4 - Hit on one main message, Step 5 - Relate to your audience, empathize with their situation.
(Vic is scribbling as fast as he can. The crowd is also furiously writing as they want to get every penny out of this absurd amount of money they forked over to be here.)
Tony Robbins: Step 6 - Definitions. Defining words in your speech adds context and makes your speech more powerful. And finally, step 7 - end with a success story or inspiration. You got all that? You think you can show us some of that power?
(Vic jots the final note down and looks up at the crowd. He scans the room and sees the Pit Boss in the back who is giving him a thumbs up. Vic takes a deep breath and looks over at Tony.)
Vic: Step 1 - get the fuck off my stage Tony! I own this bitch!
Crowd: That's your bitch! That's your bitch!
Vic: Step 2 - This sunday night at Explosion, Vic "The Motherfucking HOUSE" Vegas is going to walk out of the MGM Grand Arena as your WCF Alpha Champion! Step 3 - And not only will I be a champion, you will all be witnesses to my ascension. You will all be able to tell your grandkids one day, "I was there when Vic Vegas captured the Alpha title!"
(Vic glances back down at his notes and then lifts his head again.)
Vic: Step 5 - In case you didn't hear me earlier, Vic Vegas WILL be walking out of Explosion as the Alpha champion! Seth Lerch has continually put big people, multiple people, females, males, drunks and has-beens in front of me and every single week, The House has come out undefeated. This Sunday will be no different. Trey Carter, I've already got the scouting report on him. Tag team partners last week, enemies this week. To be honest, I kind of like the guy if it wasn't for his dumpster diving that he does on the side, but hey he just got here, probably hasn't gotten his first paycheck so if he needs to scavenge for my leftover Chinese food I'm not here to judge. As for Adam Bass, he parks his private jet next to mine here at the corporate airport. Yet another new face, yet another big match, yet another impending victory for Vic "The House" Vegas, your soon to be Alpha champion. Step 6 - Now some of you may be wondering, what is the significance of the Alpha champion? By definition "Alpha - the first, the beginning, the brightest star, having the highest rank, being the most dominant" hell I can go on and on, but all of those things define one thing, and that's Vic "The House" Vegas. The Alpha title is my beginning, it will define my dominance and will prove that I am the brightest up and coming star in the WCF. And finally, step 7. For those of you that want to experience step 7, the success story... well you'll just have to tune in or show up at the MGM Grand Arena this Sunday, March 26th for the crowning of your new Alpha Champion... and you know why I'm so confident about that? Not only because I just skeeted all sorts of verbal power on your awe-inspired ears, but because THE HOUSE...ALWAYS...
Vic & Crowd: WINS!!!!!!
(Vic drops the mic and exits stage left as the place goes up in a frenzy. Tony is clapping as loudly as anyone, because he knows if Vic pulls off the Alpha title victory, he'll be able to charge triple the amount for next year's seminar.)
