How come this feud never happened? I blame Occulo. I'm fairly certain Dwayne told officials he never wanted to work with Shawn for some reason. Or maybe that was someone else. Doesn't matter. Many wrestlers hated Shawn. Triple H loved him. Caused big pains in the ass for many people in and out of the industry. I voted Shawn.

I wouldn't put it past them, but to be fair, in retrospect if they suggested anything other than Rocky Maivaia it may not have been so bad, lol.

I'll be the controversial one here:
I love Michaels, but I'm sick of people overestimating his impact. Michaels was the greatest wrestler ever, and that's exactly where the buck stops. Michaels had no cross-over potential. Michaels could never alter the business and business strategy the way the Rock and Stone Cold did. At this point, Michaels isn't even the household name Triple H is. He is literally eclipsed by his stable, D-Generation X, when it comes to name recognition to a lay person.
The Rock is a man who altered the wrestling business around himself due to his gifts; it was clear that he was bigger than WWE and trascended to memetic levels immediately. These sort of figures that alter pop culture will always be more important in the United States than "the best wrestler"; Pop Culture > Pro Wrestling.

HBK was a hell of a showman, and a top draw for a while. By no means do I like the man, but I can't deny his in-ring talent and charisma. However, Shawn has never really done anything other than put asses seats. Meanwhile, the Rock moved beyond the medium of wrestling completely, and is now a successful Hollywood actor, something only Hulk Hogan has had much real success with in the past. HBK is well-known in the world of wrestling. The Rock is well-known all over the world. Point has to go to Dwayne Johnson.

I find it funny that in 97, HBK was the leader of DX, but when DX (and/or The Kliq) is on TV, HHH is clearly the leader. HHH was the bitch and the lackey and now he's on the cusp of supreme power in fake combat. Trump should pick him as his Veep. The guy knows how to play the game, no pun intended.

Michaels may not have had the impact on mainstream media as rock but he does have 2 well received tv shows on air about hunting. He's transcending the sport now. And while he was a wrestler he was in play girl. So there's that.

I guess everybody has a different idea of "great".
It's just like music. Same exact thing.
