(Our scene begins at the MNAH13 News Desk with two anchors sitting behind it. The male anchor begins to speak.)
Anchor: Welcome back to Memphis News at Home. Memphis' number one source for happenings in Memphis and Shelby County. As many Memphians are aware, the latest wrestling star to make the rise to a national wrestling organization is none other the Memphis' own Rage Maxx. After several years wrestling in the Mid South, Rage signed a deal with the Wrestling Championship Federation in which he won his first bout on the December 13th edition of WCF's flagship show "Slam." MNAH13's own Trisha Thompson is live at Memphis International airport and hopes to get a few words with the athlete.
(The camera follows the reporter towards a terminal at Memphis International with several people streaming out of it. In the midst of dozens of weary travelers emerges Rage Maxx. He is dressed casually wearing jeans and a "Mempho Mofo" shirt. As the reporter reaches his vicinity a young fan comes up to Rage Maxx with a pen and a small mead note pad and begins asking for an autograph to which Rage grins and obliges the young fan. After a brief word, Rage pats the boy on the head as he turns around to run to his smiling mother. Rage winks at the mom and then begins walking forward as the reporter begins yelling his name and walking in his direction.)
Thompson: Rage! Rage! Over here! Trisha Thompson with Memphis News at Home, can I steal a moment of your time?
Maxx: Yea, sure. I'd be happy to.
Thompson: Great, thank you! The city of Memphis is buzzing about your last match on Slam and we would like to discuss your first victory in the Wrestling Championship Federation. Memphians are abuzz with excitement about this recent win and we would like to get a word with you. First of all, how are you feeling?!
Maxx: Well you know, I am feeling great. Hard work always pays off and it was great to nail down number one. The match was a three way dance once again just like my first match with two new WCF talents and I am very happy to have come out on top. I lost my first match with the company which like I said was also a three way dance with two new guys and I feel like I just stepped up the ladder and made a great stride towards putting myself and Memphis on the WCF map. Still a lot of work to do and you can bet I'm up for the task.
(A shout from the distance "Rage Maxx sucks!" Rage smiles and shakes it off. He looks in the direction of the remark but due to the presence of News Camera's he chooses to refrain from yelling back.)
Thompson: Well, it seems that not everyone is a fan of Rage Maxx but that certainly isn't the feeling among your fans here at home. Shelby County as a whole is proud of their new national tv star. What is next for Rage Maxx? What understand that you'll be participating in the WCF One Event?
Maxx: Yes I will and you know it's an incredible honor to be booked to wrestle on the biggest pay per view of all in my third match with the company. This will be my toughest one yet. So I'm home to refocus and regroup. The worst thing you can do is get comfortable after a win. So I'm going to rest a couple of days and enjoy some Memphis Barbecue then I am going to hit the gym and make sure my game is where it should be.
Thompson: We understand you will be competing in a match titled Torneo Cibernetico. What should we expect to see from you and what details can you give us here at home about the match?
Maxx: Well there are 8 of us competing in this one. One of which is B'Wanna Bludde who I pinned for my first victory in WCF. And another one of which was the guy who beat me in my first match, Andre Holmes. This guy.....well this guy is good to say the least. I'm not gonna say he is my main focus going into the match but I am very well aware that he is one of the men who I will be staring at in the Staples Center on December 27th.
(In the distance a fan is heard yelling "Raaaaage Maaaxx" interrupting Rage who looks up with a big grin on his face. He flashes a peace sign and looks back again.)
Thompson: As you can see, you are the hot topic here in the Mid South. There has been a lot of people discussing your online twitter account where you exchanged words with Loco. I am aware that he to is involved in this match.
(Rage snickers a bit and looks down, he then looks back at Trisha. He tries to get serious but is obviously amused.)
Maxx: Ya know....(Rage snickers again losing his attempt at a serious expression.) That guy, eh hell I don't know. He talked some trash online but I don't know the guy. Apparently I'm not the only one who was on the receiving end of his online rampage we'll call it. I'm not overly concerned with Loco. As a matter of fact, I'm not concerned with anyone who only talks smack on social media. If he has something to say, I invite him to say it directly it in person and until that time he is just another guy in the back hiding behind Twitter.
Thompson: There you have it Memphis! No fear from Rage Maxx. Well we are sure your very anxious to get home Rage. Is there anything you would like to say to your fans here at home first?
(A man walks up and asks for an autograph for his son. He seems nervous and you can clearly tell the autograph is for the gentleman.)
Maxx: Who should I make it to?
Fan: Um, make it to Frank.
(Maxx smiles and looks down to sign the autograph. The two men shake hands and as the fan walks off Rage Maxx says "You have a great night, Frank!" The fan turns around and says "Thank you, you too!" and then realizes he was just busted and quickly spins around to walk off. Rage smiles. Even though he was poking fun it was clearly harmless and only in jest. He turns back to Trisha and doesn't skip a beat.)
Maxx: Absolutely. (Rage looks deeply into the camera lens.) I just want to thank all you guys for supporting me for the last 10 years as I paid my dues to get me to where I am today. There is no Rage Maxx without you guys and there is absolutely no Rage Maxx in the Wrestling Championship Federation without every single one of you guys. I love Memphis and I plan to make you all proud and restore Memphis to it's rightful throne as the home of professional wrestling in the United States. We have one victory in the bag guys so keep your fingers crossed for me that I can prove to the world the Mofo and Mempho are the real deal.
Thompson: Well said, well we are all rooting for you at home! Good luck and thanks for your time!
Maxx: My pleasure, really. Thank you!
(Rage walks off leaving Trisha standing in the terminal which has now cleared out.)
Thompson: He is quite the guy I must say and we here in Memphis are lucky to have such a hometown hero. Back to you guys in the studio.
(Rage walks to his vehicle. A 2013 Buick Enclave with it's black finish glinting under the street lights. Out steps a beautiful female named Allena. She is wearing an over sized t-shirt and black yoga pants with her hair up in a bun. She runs up to Rage who drops his bag on the ground and the two embrace one another tightly. Rage kisses her on the cheek and then takes the keys. He picks up his luggage and they walk around to the back of the vehicle. Rage hits a button and the hatch rises. He places his bag in the back the SUV then closes it. They walk to the passenger side of the vehicle where Rage opens his lady's door. After she is successfully in he shuts the door and walks around to enter the car himself.)
Allena: This is a different world. It'll take some getting used to you being gone for days at a time.
Maxx: Maybe you should travel with me love?
Allena: You know I can't do that with work and school. It'd be impossible.
Maxx: It would be hard, yes. But babe, nothing is impossible. It doesn't even have to be every trip.
Allena: I know but I know that it's inevitable that I'm going to be without you more and more. I've talked to the other wives, I'm not dumb. I know what happens when you make it to the top.
Maxx: That is true but right now I am proving myself. I punch in, wrestle and come home and it will probably be that way for a while.
(We are seeing Rage in a totally different way. He seems very open and vulnerable to the words coming from Allena.)
Allena: Just don't get to distant from me.
(Rage pulls the car into an abandoned lot and puts the car in park. After turning the radio down he exhales deeply and plants both hands firmly on the steering wheel.)
Maxx: What are you talking about? Distant from you?
Allena: I know how you are. I don't have to worry about other women. I have to worry about wrestling. After you lost that match you hardly spoke and were always going to the gym. Even though you were at home, you weren't.
Maxx: Allena, This is ridiculous. I'm starting the biggest part of my career yet. I am staying at the top of my game. This is what we always wanted! The days where you were at my side when I was in the ring weren't that long ago. We could always do that again? You could come with me. Seeing you in my corner would give me so much more strength and determination in the ring.
Allena: That's not gonna happen and yes that was years ago. I don't have the looks or the body for it anymore and plus we've been talking about children. Those things won't work together at all baby.
Maxx: We have the rest of our lives to have kids. This is an opportunity that only comes once. You said yourself that you were worried about it. Why not become a part of it.
(Allena's face shows that the idea is something that excites her even though she tries to mask it.)
Allena: It's not that easy babe. There is so much more to consider. I love you but I don't know about all this.
(Rage's cellphone rings.)
Maxx: Yea...okay. Alright. Sounds good. I'll be there.
Allena: Who was that?
Maxx: The company, apparently something has happened and One has been pushed back to the 27th.
(Allena's face become the picture of delight.)
Allena: Yay! That's amazing! I'm was dreading knowing you were about to head back out again in just a few days. This is what I needed babe!
(She leans over and kisses Rage on the cheek. He smiles back at her.)
Maxx: Looks like I'll be home for Christmas babe,
but back to what we were talking about. I want you to consider it. I could talk to Talent Relations, bring some videos of you from a couple of years ago.
Allena: Let me think about this it's a big decision. I'm not gonna promise anything.
Maxx: I'll accept that as an answer. One day Allena, I'm going to be at the top of WCF and the only thing that could make this better would be having you at my side. Enough wrestling for tonight, let's go home.
(Rage smiles cheerfully and leans over to kiss Allena on the cheek. There is a look of excitement on both of their faces with the prospect of Allena being his valet once again. Rage turns the music back up and he puts the Buick back into drive and pulls out of the vacant parking lot as the couple and the Buick disappear into the Memphis night towards their apartment for an extended Holiday at home.)
