Not-So-Brief History:
Being born to a wealthy lawyer and his bartender mistress, Shadow, born May 15, 1982 as Lucious Beta Starr, did not exactly live the great life he should have. Being disowned by his birth father, Rex Timbland III, his mother, Joyce Brenda Starr took care of him until her "untimely" death at the age of 26. Lucious was only 8 at the time, and was placed in foster care when Rex refused to take responsibility.
For two years Lucious would be in foster care, never knowing what had really happened to his mother. He was then adopted by a man named Albert Dunkwest, a former boxing coach. His wife was unable to have children, and at Lucious' age, he was the perfect child for them. Albert was able to train Lucious in boxing, while his adoptive mother Sylvia put him through school. Lucious would learn all there was to boxing within a few years, facing off against Junior World Champion boxers by the age of thirteen. He took the Junior American Championship two days after his thirteenth birthday, allowing him to travel the world to participate in other championship rounds.
His path took him to Germany, which came at a time when his boxing skills were prime. He heard of an underground fighting league, and decided to test their skills. However, Germans aren't exactly up to par with rules and regulations, as Lucious would find out the hard way. Underground german street fighting took Lucius to the limit, and he soon found out boxing wasn't going to make it there. He took it upon himself to find a german teacher to educate him on street fighting, learning all he could as he boxed his way to a Germany Championship in the summer of his fourth boxing year.
He returned at the beginning of the school year, ready to show his skills. He was now almost fifteen years old, ready to head for bigger competition. As he went through school during the day, he participated in boxing at night. He was soon penalized for illegal maneuvers, and disciplined by Al. Lucious told Al that he would not live in his shadow anymore, that boxing was only a temporary setback to bigger and better things. He took off the rest of the year at his school, using his savings from boxing to hire a traveling teacher while he persued a career in fighting. He would take tae kwon do for two years, mastering the art at the age of 18, then go on to combine all he'd learned to fight in the underground leagues.
In his first amateur stint, he fought in a league known as the Carolina Underground. A mostly hardcore indy fed, CU fed into Lucious' no-rules german fighting, and he won quite a few matches while there. He defeated then CU Abrasion Champion "Stayned" for the title in a bloody Baseball Bat match, when he placed a bat in the turnbuckle and executed a con-chair-to with the other. He would then issue a challenge to Carolina Grand Master Champion Alan "Bloodspitter" Daniels for the championship. During the double-titles match, former Abrasion Champ Stayned interfered, bloodying Lucious with a near life-ending blow to the back of his head with a 2x4. Lucius spent the next two months in the hospital with a concussion.
At the age of 22, Lucious would take on the moniker of "Shadow" to join the Barton Town Wrestling Federation, then run by Brian Blade. Despite his former fed where there were no rules, BTWF held him at a high level to follow wrestling guidelines. Shadow adapted to the rules, being able to conform a few moves to the approved basis of maneuvers. He didn't win quite as many times, but his love for the fans came back as they learned to respect him and love him for his fighting abilities.
Enter GWF. An old BTWF friend of Shadow's, "the Lightning" Pohatu, had raised a fed of his own. Hoping to raise his federation to the level of BTWF, Pohatu enlisted his friend to bring the crowd to the Gaia Wrestling Federation. Shadow would compete in some high-class matches, coming close to GWF World Championship Gold. But all was not to be as soon GWF wrestlers dispersed to BTWF, and the GWF would immenently shut down. Shadow was forced to return to the BTWF, however his abilities placed him in a few title roles. He participated in a few Gaia Championship matches, and a World Title qualifier, but still never managed to hang on to gold.
Coast-To-Coast Wrestling would have two stints in its lifetime. The first time around saw Shadow clinging to hope as the very first CTC World Champion. However, a young upstart named Killa K would knock his hopes away, and Shadow would never taste the gold again. When CTC came back to life in early 2006, Shadow was quick to rejoin in hopes of a World Title oppertunity. He would face off against the likes of Maxwell Conners, Darren Reid, Apolo, Cral Cruel and even Anthony Voorhees as he attempted to claim the gold. One by one they turned him away. One by one they knocked his dream out. However, as CTC came to a close once more, it saw Shadow taking on long time friend and partner Dark Angel for the coveted gold. And at Natural Selection, Shadow would, under controversial circumstances, take the gold. However, due to a deal gone bad, he would lose the gold just the same to his mentor, Brian Blade. The night ended as the Heat Foundation walked away, no gold and no hope for a future. The small circle of friends would be left to wander the wrestling scene, looking for a place to belong.
Shadow would find himself in PWA, a long standing federation that prided itself on the hottest talent in the world. He would acheive such accomplishments as Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships. However, after a turn of events involving his own tag team partner, Shadow took it upon himself to release his inner demons, executing revenge on Viktor Stone for costing him the titles. He would then go on to RPM II with a new partner in Joshua Danielson to challenge for the Tag Team Titles. Then-champs Jethro Hayes and Bubba J would defend the titles against both Hell and High Water and the Cowgirls from Hell. A turn in the end would see Jethro stopping Hell and High Water from taking the titles, in effect helping the Cowgirls. Lucious still bears a grudge towards Jethro because of this.
During RPM II, it was revealed that Lucious had joined Simon Kalis to continue the legacy of a dying Order of Chaos. During the following months, it would be revealed that both Kalis and Starr had stock in PWA, each securing a spot on the Board of Directors and thus some pull in the company. Never one to back down from a fight, Mark "Chamelion" Sommers would place his company on the line against Simon Kalis. This became a Tag Team Match at Manitoba Mayhem, as Chamelion picked up Randal Moran and Simon chose Lucious, the Order managing to pick up a victory and control of the PWA. After that match, Lucious demanded that injured PWA World Champion, Riona Langly, come to the ring for a World Championship defense. When she did not show (as she was in the hospital, though Lucious will never acknowledge this), Lucious declared himself World Champion by forfeit. In the following months, the Order would face turbulent times, as Daniel "Rayn" Kalis would publicly challenge Lucious after being brought into the Order by his brother Simon. Lucious took this as a personal attack, and the two would begin feuding. At Lucha Libre, Lucious put the World Title on the line against Rayn, looking to shut the older Kalis' mouth once and for all. Simon would intervene, causing a draw.
In the next month, Kalis' protege, Reaver, is attacked by Lisa Seldon. Lucious believes Simon weak and defenseless as Kalis runs to Reaver's side. Lucious then challenges Simon for position, looking to revive a dying Order of Chaos. In a show of respect, Simon would lay down and take the loss in a Last Man Standing match, allowing the Fury of Hades to become the Order's newest "General". This lasted until Good vs Evil, when Simon Kalis would usurp his power back in the Order and lead them to a losing WarGames effort. Lucious would lose the World Title back to Riona Langly. Simon Kalis would blame Lucious for the Order's downfall, whilst Lucious blamed Kalis. Bad blood brewed between the two, and is still boiling.
A month after WarGames, Lucious fought Michael "Raizzor" Sommers at X-Mas @ Ground Zero, defeating the Soul-Taker in a match that Raizzor wanted in order to gain retribution against all members of the broken Order. After the match, Lucious' injuries, both from WarGames and Ground Zero, was forced to take a few months off.
Lucious made a huge return to ring action at Genesis XI, booked in a Who's The Man? Qualifying Match against former rival Matthew "Virus" Engel. The two went toe-to-toe for most of the match, but in the end, the Virus proved too much for Starr. Lucious would gain another opportunity, however, as he faced Howl a mere week later. He made his way through the ranks, finding himself in the semi-finals of the WTM? Tourney, pitted once again across the ring from Engel. However, due to a challenge made in weeks prior, he would be forced to face Raizzor first. After suffering multiple bruised ribs, Lucious would lose to Raizzor, an attempt to stay in the WTM? Main Event match. Later that night, Lucious would find himself the victim of a 3-on-1 assault as the other three members of the WTM? Finals match assaulted him during the opening moments of the match. Despite all this, he was able to fight off the trio, managing to pin and eliminate Marxx and Jethro Hayes from the match. Lucious continued to prove himself a contender as he took Engel to his limits, never giving up. After a Sons Of Plunder and a Euthanasia, Engel was forced to lock in a Million Dollar Dream submission hold, causing the Fury to pass out from the pain. Engel was crowned the 2011 Who's The Man? Winner and World Heavyweight Champion- a combination that hadn't been seen in almost ten years.
Lucious parlayed his feats at WTM? into a run at the King Of Extreme Championship at AoWF's Honor Bound. After a forfeit victory over legendary Nightmare, Lucious would go on to face Rayn, Cody Bogard, Jimmy Henderson, Hunter Sullivan and Mark McNasty in an over-the-top-rope battle royal to determine PWA's representative into the AoWF Title match. After four of the competitors were eliminated, Starr and McNasty battled it out to determine the better man. Just as McNasty had Lucious down, he would climb the ropes, looking for his Malicious Intent finisher. However, Lucious would recover in time to pounce up after him, nailing his Grim Reaper powerbomb to the floor outside. After the mess was clear, it was determined that Lucious Starr had succeeded in winning the contest, as his feet had fallen on top of the legend. Starr moved on to represent PWA at Honor Bound, set to face REBEL's Vincent Black, BWF's United States Champion Finale, and Victory's Riona Langly for the King Of Extreme Championship.
