ACT I “Training Day”
Lake Clark National Park & Preserve – Alaska – April 10th, 2015
Lake Clark National Park & Preserve – Alaska – April 10th, 2015
Our scene opens in the wilderness of Alaska with the WCF Drone searching high and low. It travels through the Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, looking for one person in particular. It finds tall trees, mountains, and finally comes across Thomas Uriel Bates. Bates is wearing blue jeans, boots, and no shirt. He carries with him a very heavy, and massive log. He carries it for several steps, before dropping it with a massive crashing thud. The massive man turns around, and walks towards a large boulder, nearly half of his own size. He bends down, and wraps his massive arms around the boulder. He lifts, bringing the boulder to his stomach. He grunts as he pushes the boulder above his head, resting it on his shoulder. One more grunt and he pushes the boulder, sending it flying through the air nearly twenty feet before it crashes into the earth, shaking the ground and rattling the trees around him.
The massive man turns back around, and takes hold of the log once more. He lifts, bringing the log to his knees. Another grunt and the log is at his chest. The final grunt we find the log now being held high above his head. He brings it down in a military press, before sending the log through the air. The log crashes against another three and shatters into two pieces.
This is the point that the WCF Drone comes in, flying around Bates’ head like a persistent fly. Bates at first swats at it, but then simply sighs.
Thomas Uriel Bates: I told Seth that I wanted to be left alone. I wanted to be secluded as I train, and work for this match. Oh well, he does have a show he’s trying to run. So what am I doing out here?
I am training right now for the W-C-F World Championship match, and I am pushing every limit that I can push. What better way to push my limits, than out in nature itself? The trees and the boulders, these are my weights and my punching bags. No distractions, aside from a few annoying cameras flying around.
I am facing Bobby Cairo, a W-C-F Legend and current World Champion. He is one of the most skilled men in the ring today, in not just the W-C-F, but the entire world. I am not going to take this lightly. I am going to train harder than I’ve ever trained before, and when I get into that ring on Sunday, I will be ready to walk out of the Sullivan Arena as the new World Champion.
Bobby Cairo is an all-rounder. A technical wrestler, a high flyer, even has the ability to throw around some of the lighter wrestlers in this promotion. He has talent oozing out of him like BioWalker has shit oozing out of it. To top all of this off, I’m not even going after him when he’s past his prime. I’m not gunning for his belt, when he’s too old and beat up to defend it. Here is Bobby Fucking Cairo, and I want him at his best.
I’m going to give him my very best. I’m coming into that match with the full intention of completely and utterly destroying Bobby Cairo. I’m heading down to that ring to draw blood, and leave Bobby in a pile of his own blood, tears, urine, and shit. I will break Bobby, and take from his cold broken fingers the W-C-F World Championship belt.
Bates looks around, and walks towards the shattered log.
Thomas Uriel Bates: When I first got here, I said I wanted the gold. A little over a month later, and I’m getting my shot at it. Great opponents lay in my wake, and come Sunday, Bobby, you will be another one. My rise to the top of this company has been quick, but I’m not about to let it slip away from me either. I’m going to take this opportunity, and I’m going to run with it. I didn’t knock on opportunity’s door, I kicked the damn thing down.
I was content with biding my time too, Bobby. I was content with waiting until it was undeniably my right to challenge for that belt. I was content to climb the pipe of broken and bloody bodies to get to you. To lay blood soaked gold at your feet as my challenge to you. Seth instead went ahead and made this match. Perhaps Seth is scared of what would happen. Maybe he was scared that I could actually pull off my threat of breaking the bodies of Grime, Occulo, Jay Omega, and taking all of their gold.
Maybe Seth wanted to spare them. With the exception of Grime, they are great champions. I have even had the pleasure of being in the ring with Jay Omega, and though he won that match, it was not by destroying me. No, perhaps Seth was scared, and so he has sacrificed you.
You are now the sacrifice, Bobby. Seth hopes that offering you to me will silence my hunger, and satisfy my craving for Gold. With your blood being spilled in that ring, maybe Seth feels that he can spare the greater number of talent from the fate that will befall you. Maybe he thinks that once I have that gold, I will not need to destroy everything in my path. Maybe, Bobby, maybe he’s right.
I’m the new guy Bobby, and you’re the man at the top. Who did you think I was going to go after? Did you think I was going to allow myself to be stuck in the mid-card forever with those titles? Did you think I would allow myself to be stuck behind a computer all day fighting for some internet title? Bobby, Bobby, I want to rise to the top. I want to be the biggest superstar in that locker room, and to do it Bobby, to do it I need to destroy you.
So I train. I will lift these boulders, I will lift these logs. I will run through this forest, and I will punch and kick the trees. Bobby, I will make myself ready to face you on Sunday. Can you at least make sure you do the same?
Bates turns and walks towards the boulder. He prepares to lift it again as the WCF Drone flies up, eventually flying far enough away that the massive Thomas Uriel Bates is barely visible through the trees. Our scene ends with the camera flying away.
ACT II “The World will Shake”
Mount Redoubt – 110 Miles Southwest of Anchorage, Alaska – April 10th, 2015
Mount Redoubt – 110 Miles Southwest of Anchorage, Alaska – April 10th, 2015
Atop the volcano of Mount Redoubt, the WCF Drone finds once again the massive man known as Thomas Uriel Bates. Having finished his workout, he stands atop the mountain and waits patiently for the drone to close in. No smile on his face, no wink, no games.
Thomas Uriel Bates: For nine years you struggled. For nine years you sacrificed everything to one day achieving your goal as the W-C-F World Champion. You worked hard to get where you are. You worked hard to get to your match; The Vapor Kings versus The Poondock Saints, the man who pins wins it all. In that match Bobby, you saw your opportunity. ICE Beckman charges at you with his World Title belt, and what do you do? R-Cairo out of nowhere, leaving him to roll out of the ring. R-Cairo out of nowhere, and now Zombie McMorris is down. Both opponents down, the referee tossed back into the ring, and you pin McMorris.
You took the opportunity that was easiest for you. I’m not going to say you couldn’t beat ICE Beckman for that belt, but I will say we’ll never know, McMorris was the legal man. You achieved your goal, earned your Gold belt, and the champion wasn’t even the legal man.
For nine long years, all of the sacrifices you’ve made. The imprisonment, the divorce, the blood and the sweat and the tears, no you wouldn’t change it. If you are any kind of champion, there is one thing I know you would want to change; to defeat the champion yourself. You wonder if you were good enough to beat him. Now of course, if that’s not what you’re thinking, if that’s not something you wish to change, then what does that say about you? I’ll tell you Bobby, it would mean you’re a punk ass bitch. Are you a punk ass bitch, Bobby?
Of course, you claim he simply rolled out of the ring, and wanted no more part of it. I didn’t see you go after him either. I didn’t see you hand over McMorris so he could tag himself in. I saw you, we all saw you, pin the Champion’s partner. You won the Championship from someone who wasn’t the Champion.
Then you put your title on the line, as does Jay Omega, and ICE Beckman has a shot to retake the Gold he never truly lost. What happened there, Bobby? Did you put him down, end his shot at the Gold? No, Bobby. Jay Omega took care of that for you. Now sure, you beat Jay Omega, so in a way maybe you beat ICE Beckman, but you and I know that’s a load of horseshit. Jay took from you the satisfaction of knowing if you can beat ICE Beckman one on one or not. What did you do to him? How did you punish him, Bobby? Did you pin him? No. Did you force him to submit? No. He passed out and the referee called for the bell. That’s not a real submission, Bobby. You didn’t make him quit, he just fell asleep on you.
Then you face Alex Richards, the Slam before Explosion. It is the Godfather of Wrestling versus the Archduke of Mass Confusion. Pantheon and the Poondocks, all out for this show, and what happens Bobby? Your first one on one match since winning that Gold, and what happens? Bobby, you lost. Alex Richards has his arm raised in victory as you and everyone looks over in confusion. The World Champion, the Thickest Motherfucker in the “Dub Cee Eff” got pinned.
That’s not where this story ends though. Explosion; the Poondock Saints once again goes up against Pantheon for the W-C-F Tag Team Championship. A hard fought match, and a rightful victory for the Poondock Saints. Is this a victory for you, Bobby? In a way, it is, but is this a personal victory or a team victory? Did you pin Jayson Price or Jay Omega for the win? No, that honour goes to Kaz. Sure you helped him, but he got the pin.
So where does this leave you, Bobby? How has your reign as the World Champion of the Wrestling Championship Federation been? You pin someone other than the champion to win the belt, someone falls asleep during their match with you, you get beaten by Uncle Fester, and your own tag team partner upstages you. I would have to say Bobby, this is not impressive at all.
What happened Bobby? What’s going on with you? Until now you’ve been getting by largely on luck. You’re better than this, aren’t you? You have all this talent, all this skill, the fans love you for now, so why has your title reign fallen a little short? Are those sacrifices you’ve made coming back on you? Is it your governorship of Poon Guinea? Do you have far too many distractions, Bobby, because I don’t.
You said that if anyone wants a piece of the W-C-F World Champion, all they have to do is march down that aisle. Bobby, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. My six foot nine, four hundred and thirty pounds of solid muscle self will be coming down that aisle, stepping into that ring, and beating the Thick right off of your Poon ass! When I’m done with you Bobby, the entire Republic of Poon Guinea will be in tears as they watch their beloved Governor get carried away in a stretcher, his body broken at my hands.
You’ve got no one else to face, and you’ve got no one else in your corner to help you. This match is just me versus you. No tag team match where the guy who pins gets the gold, no triple threat match where the winner gets one belt, the loser gets another belt, and the really bad loser gets nothing, no non-title match where you are safe to lose. No Bobby, you step into that ring with me, and just me. We will proceed t o beat the living hell out of each other, and I will break every bone in your body.
Are you going to be there for it, Bobby? Are you going to step into that ring, fully prepared for what is to come? I want you to come down to that ring, ready to beat me, Bobby. I want you to come to that ring, with that fire in your eyes, and I want you to give me everything you have. I want you to defend that Championship with your very life. Defend it like you were defending your own nation. Defend it like you would defend your own child. I’m coming down to that ring to take it away from you, and I want you to try and stop me.
Stop me Bobby. I’m coming for you.
Our scene ends with Thomas Uriel Bates breaking a smile. The WCF Drone beginning to fly away, focusing on the beautiful and deadly Mount Redoubt.
