Just had my fantasy draft on Friday. Got Johan Santana and Andruw Jones. Should be a decent team.

I just got into a keeper league. I'm really looking to get Pujols and Jason Bay with Zach Duke. If I get them I'm set for the future.
Santana should have a better year, considering they got Castillo to play a lot better d at 2B (Rivas was terrible) Plus he should have some more run support with new acquisitions like Tony Batista. Jones will be awesome, as always.

As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I have my hopes up high for this year, though there are admittedly a lot of "if"s on the squad.
The Twins look good, but I wouldn't expect too much from Tony Batista. 20 homeruns, maybe...but also expect 100+ strikeouts. I am a big fan of Luis Castillo, but his game has been declining..and playing on turf can not help those legs that he has had problems with recently.
My sleeper team this year is the Brewers...with the Pirates close behind.
And you have to feel bad for any Royals fan...

Red Sox, I like Youkilis. I see him in the future.
Batista: I'm thinkin 25 homers, which would equal 40 in Twins numbers. As long as he plays decent D and can drive runs, I think he will be fine. Castillo has been declining, but having him is better than anything else there. Bartlett, Punto, the list is pretty bad. Hell, we even tried Boone for a while.
Sleeper: I dont think the Pirates will be bad at all. Bay is a 30/30 guy and you have to like the acquisitions on Sean Casey and everyone else. At least they are progressing. Duke has a bright future as well at only 23 or so. Brewers, I dont like (as a fan) but as a team I respect now. They have Weeks and Prince Fielder as the future, which shoulnt be so bad considering Weeks has speed like a mo fo.
But my real sleeper team: The A's. Swisher is ready to finally be a play maker. Dan Johnson at a full year could go either way, but I think he looks good. I live in Sac and have seen him plenty here in AAA for the Rivercats. Plus that rotation has-in my opinion- the most potential and talent. Rich Harden had a low ERA before he got injured with some decent showings. Saarloos and Harden were injured yet still posted 10 wins. Haren, Blanton, Harden, Saarloos all got some more experience, Plus, Zito. I know people say he is slipping, and that he will be traded. I dont think so. I think he has a pretty solid year. Remember, that rotation had 60 combined wins with 2 guys injured.
Is there even such a thing as a "Royals" fan?
My uncle has a friend right now who is pitching for them. He got invited to ST and I'm goin up there. His name is Joe Nelson. Pitched for the Red Sox and Braves as well. He's old, but had tommy john and looks to be a set up guy for the royals.

I'm not sure if the A's would qualify as a sleeper team because everybody is picking them. I love their chances...not sure why they gave Loaiza so much money, though...unless it is for insurance if Beane trades away Zito...
Vaguely remember Joe Nelson... Best of luck to him... About a decade or so ago, the Sox had a young prospect pitching for them. As a youngster, I took to him for some reason. His career fizzled before it began and I was the only one left with his baseball cards. Long story short, I recently found out that he is the brother-in-law of one of my co-workers. Small world...
Go to baseball-reference.com and type in Joe Nelson. You can sponsor his page for $10. Add in info, as well.
Rob Neyer, of ESPN fame, is a Royals fan...

I guess it is true about the A's. I think it wont even be close though with the Angels.
It is a small world. Last Friday we were talking about basketball at the varsity game when a couple of other guys came up to us and started talking bout the kings, They were from the other school and Laker fans.
"Kings suck. Adelman is gay." "What about that assistant Elston Turner who always is on tv? He dont know what he talkin bout!"
The kids laughed, and so did we. I'm not a Kings fan or anything. But whats funny is Elston Turner Jr is the star of our bball team and one of the best in the state. Him and his dad had just walked into the gym, and were standing behind those kids listening to what they said. We laughed our asses off when they turned around and someone told them who that was.
it was the most random and coincidental and funniest thing in my life. I'm sendin it to Twilight Zone

Yes RIP. I'll never forget what he's done not only as a player, but as an author. Once, when his book on playing baseball came out, my dad bought it for me and I haven't let go of the book or stopped playing since. He truly was the man.
