Life is an interesting ride. You have your highs, you have your lows; many men reach the highest of highs but yet do not know or understand how to deal with the lowest of lows. War … War does not bring about victors; it only brings with it death, suffering, agony, and many endless and innocent victims. Traditionally, War is not taken upon lightly and in WCF, this is no exception for it is undoubtedly the biggest match of the year, the most highly anticipated contest where the real competitors are separated from the rookies and they must survive each and every member of the roster, beat every single one of them to reign supreme.
Yes … a man can reach the lowest of the lows and in one night, in one single match redeem himself and put himself at the top of the pyramid again. The pyramid was once his and he will reconquer it his way again … this is the way Eric Price sees it. War is a tough match, one year ago he ran the distance and made it to the end and made it to second place, this year he’s running the distance but making it to first place because more than a score to settle, he has a point to prove. Yes, many casualties will abound, many victims will be taken but it is said that all is fair in love and War and when it comes to the War match, Eric Price will settle for nothing short of victory!
Day I: Monday 9/23 – Walters/Price, Part I
Scene I: Preparations For the Interview – 4:55 PM – Eric Price’s House in Pacific Palisades, CA
*The scene opens up with cameras shown in Eric Price’s house, as a TV crew is there ready to film. Eric Price is shown arriving. The setup for the cameras shows a fireplace glowing in the background with a luxurious wooden table, clearly varnished just a few minutes prior in the middle between two large, plush suede chairs, both light brown. Eric Price is shown being fitted for a microphone as he is wearing a black sportcoat, a navy blue collared shirt, no tie, and black pants. The background shown next to the fireplace is many windows all showing a beautiful backyard and the ocean in the backdrop with the sun starting to set for the day.*
Eric Price: How long?
Producer: 5 minutes.
*Eric then takes a seat in the plush chair on the right-hand side. Barbara Walters who was also fitted for a microphone takes a seat on the chair on the left-hand side.*
Eric Price: I’m very appreciative that you collaborated on this project with me.
Barbara Walters: Yes well, I know we had an incident last year with you slapping me but you’ve since apologized profusely and I know that your temper got out of hand but more than that, when you offered yourself for these interviews, this trail, I knew it was a good opportunity to get a hold of an interesting personality.
Eric Price: And like I said, no punches pulled, you ask me anything and I will answer it to the best of my ability. I have the memorabilia and pictures and what not ready as I know I want to show some of it during the interview. You also have the footage ready to insert, right?
Barbara Walters: Yes, the producers will be taking care of that. It won’t be live so we’re okay on that and you’ll see the final cut before it airs.
Eric Price: Excellent although I’m not scared of the public in this case, I think it’s time I shed some light on what’s really been going on with my career and the people around me. This is a perfect time headed into what I consider the biggest match of the year, War!
*Eric smiles as the camera crew starts testing the microphones and their equipment as Eric and Barbara both wait for filming to commence shortly*
Scene II: The Beginning Of The Ride – 5:00 PM – Eric Price’s House in Pacific Palisades, CA
*The scene opens up with Barbara Walters and Eric Price ready to commence. As they are about to commence, Eric Price cannot help but have a whirlwind of thoughts going through his mind currently as the interview he is about to do will certainly be controversial. He has pulled no punches and is ready simply to tell it like it is and shoot straight to the point. He knows there are no scripts, no cue cards, everything is on the spot and there is some footage and major points that will be highlighted but all responses are natural and honest. He knows many of his peers will not be pleased but at the same time, he feels he must do this because there are truths he needs to expose and motives he would like to make clear to not only himself but the world as the professional wrestling industry is an interesting yet secretive profession. With War looming ahead not even a week from this interview, it could be a move that helps him along the way or costs him dearly. The impact in his mind is not clear as the interview itself had not started but it was clear that footage had been compiled for a while and that he had planned for this moment for a long time only waiting for trigger to complete it. This was the time, this was the moment, War is upon us and this is the interview of Eric Price.*
Barbara Walters: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to tonight’s special interview with WCF Wrestler and former owner of said promotion, Eric Price. I know you’ve guarded your privacy quite a bit and it is an honor for you to allow us to film you in your most intimate moments and to allow us access to what it is to be in the life of Eric Price.
Eric Price: The opportunity is all mine. Welcome to my home.
Barbara Walters: And a lovely home it is. Before we get to your tenure with the Wrestling Championship Federation, WCF, tell us, what would motivate a person like you, a man with money, with much wealth, with great investment ties to get into a business like professional wrestling?
*Eric crosses his hands and holds them up at chest level as she cracks a smile, readying himself to answer this question*
Eric Price: What got me into the business was really the idea of living out a dream. You see Barbara, a lot of people have dreams, a lot of people have hopes, a lot of people have ideas but not many execute them. I will paraphrase a man who is a personal hero to me, Steve Jobs. In an interview, he was discussing how at one point as a kid, he wanted to know how an integrated circuit from Hewlett Packard worked so he took the time to look up Bill Hewlett’s number in the phone book, he actually dialed him up and asked for help. He said that you should never be afraid to ask for help and what separates dreamers from successes is that the successes actually pick up the phone and take action, the dreamers do just that, only dream.
Eric Price: I … when I was a kid growing up, I would sit down and watch wrestling every week and it was always fascinating to me. I loved the heroes, I was a big fan of the Macho Man “OOOOOHHHH YEAHHHH” Randy Savage, I loved his work. It was fascinating to see the larger than life personalities on screen but I never fancied myself much of an athlete, much less a grappler or competitor in this sport. So I concentrated on my studies and worked in studying finance. At a young age, I managed to learn how to play the stock market and during the .com boom about 15 years ago or so, I really started putting in cash and then watching my profits soar. Now, I’ve always believed that half of everything is luck in life and in my case, I happened to be lucky that I had simply a gut feeling that I needed to pull out in mid 2000 from the market and I did. By then I had amassed quite a bit of money and shortly thereafter as we all know, the .com bubble burst but I walked away with some good money from that.
Eric Price: With that … I got into investing in more stocks and making my money work for me because I was always taught that the key to truly being successful is making your money for you while you simply collect and I did just that, I collected for a good while and amassed a decent fortune in investments. Basically, I was set for life. Many would be content with just that and live out their lives like spoiled brats but that’s just not me, I still had this dream of becoming a professional wrestler and breaking into that business. I decided … this was around 2005 by the way, that I would break into this business. Let me tell you something … it’s not easy to break into the business. A lot of people now think that the only reason I made it to the top was because of my money but that’s not the case, if anything that hindered my success in this business because everyone and I mean EVERYONE had this image of me as being some spoiled rich kid who was just playing for fun while they earned a living off the business when in reality, I just wanted to be one of the boys.
Eric Price: I’m not going to get into the grimy details but it took years and years of training in independent companies to finally get my first big break and I didn’t get it until right after Christmas 2008.
Barbara Walters: So basically, a full 3 years before anything?
Eric Price: Exactly. This business is not an easy one to break into but once I did, I won championships from out of the gate, mid card titles that were supposed to be for people who had been in the company for at least a year or so and I was winning it on my way in. That kind of goes to your head a bit and you start believing your own hype. Fast forward now, early 2009 I just started in the business and have a title to my name. I then go to sign with another company in mid 2009 and not even three weeks in, I win their World Championship! That was huge, to really make it to the top and have my first World Title … nothing can replicate that moment really. It’s a zenith that is unlike anything most people feel. Some people called it popping my cherry in relation to the business.
Barbara Walters: Wow … interesting they equate it that way.
*Eric chuckles a bit*
Eric Price: Yeah … yeah. It’s amazing. I won’t go into the details of those early days but after a while with that World Title, I got sick and tired of the owner of the company always trying to stick it to me. You see, me and Nic Daniels had some legitimate issues with each other and him and eye never really saw eye to eye on anything. With that said, I finally decided to walk out on the company in early 2010 after having been World Champion for near 7 months because I was sick and tired of always being screwed out of everything and having to politick to get what I wanted. It went to the point where I hated coming in to work and between Nic Daniels, the owner and my biggest rival at the time Bryan Brown, I’d had enough. I decided that I was not going to put up with their crap and I walked out of the business, I was done.
Barbara Walters: Early 2010, you were done, wow. When we come back, we go into the lull years and how Eric Price got into WCF. Stay tuned.
*The filming is cut as Eric tells Barbara he’s going to take a quick step outside to get some fresh air.*
Scene III: Calling Up And Old Acquaintance – 5:07 PM – Eric Price’s House (Back Porch) in Pacific Palisades, CA
*Eric’s cell phone rings as he steps outside to take a deep breath of fresh air. He puts his hand on the beautiful wooden railing as he faces out toward the ocean, grass and a swimming pool in front of him, both perfectly manicured. He leans over the rail putting his head down as if concerned. He then picks up the phone as he leans back up still facing out toward the ocean*
Eric Price (on cell phone): Yeah?
*Eric cracks a smile as he realizes who is calling him*
Eric Price (on cell phone): Whoa, hang on a second. I’m alone so I’m going to put you on speaker phone.
*Eric activates the speaker phone on his iPhone*
Eric Price (on cell phone): Can you hear me?
Caller (on the phone): Yeah Eric, I can hear you.
*The caller has a familiar voice to Eric but has yet to be identified*
Eric Price (on the phone): I know it’s a risk for you to call me here but I trust she’s not around and we’re safe to talk.
Caller (on the phone): Yes we are. Look I … I don’t feel right about this.
Eric Price (on the phone): You think I do? What happened was bad enough with your sister outright stabbing me in the back and taking what was mine when I planned to share the wealth with her and she outright called me weak … I don’t know Rachel.
*The voice now made sense as Eric identified this young woman by name, Rachel, referring to Sarah Twilight’s sister, Rachel Twilight.*
Rachel Twilight (on the phone): I … I can’t condone what my sister did. I love her because she is my sister but it wasn’t right.
Eric Price (on the phone): What I have to wonder and I still don’t understand is why … why’d she do this to me?
Rachel Twilight (on the phone): Look Eric … I feel bad for you, I really do. I understand what she did was not right but I have no clue why she did what she did. Every time I ask her about it and just so you know though I’ve already told you, she surprised me with that as I had no idea she was going to pull that stunt; she keeps saying that you deserved it for being weak.
Eric Price (on the phone): Weak … if being in love is weakness … then maybe it’s not my right to love anyone.
*Eric starts getting tearful, mixed feelings of anger and sorrow as he thinks of the relationship that once was at least in his mind between himself and Sarah Twilight*
Rachel Twilight (on the phone): I can’t say I’m excited that you assaulted her last night on Slam but at the same time, I can’t blame you for what you did. Anyone would have reacted that way because she stood you up and I … I’ve seen my sister do a lot of things in her life but I never thought she would go to that extent … no … no I knew … I knew she was capable but I just didn’t want to believe it.
*Eric pauses for a moment thinking about that last statement Rachel made and in his mind makes a connection himself thinking about everything that happened between himself and Sarah, all their interactions*
Eric Price (on the phone): I … I guess I lied to myself for a long time too. I thought I could change her and clearly I was wrong. Just so you know Rachel, I meant it when I told your sister that I loved her but obviously she did not reciprocate those feelings.
*Rachel cautiously speaks as she asks the next question*
Rachel Twilight (on the phone): Eric … do you … still … love her?
*Eric pauses yet another moment and thinks to himself*
Eric Price (on the phone): Well …
*Eric thinks on the question as he did indeed have feelings of love for her and the wedding betrayal was a shock to him, a shock that he still does not quite understand but at the same time, he accepts that it happened and that he has to move on. He quickly wipes a tear from his eye*
Eric Price (on the phone): Not anymore. She lied to me and led me on … I fell into her trap but I see the truth now and I understand that she never loved me. I guess she planned all along to take the company from me or maybe not, I don’t know. Fact is, I don’t know how far her machinations go but I do know that I fell for it and truthfully speaking at this moment, I do not feel one shred of love for her at all, just bitter hatred and disgust for her contemptible actions.
Rachel Twilight (on the phone): I can’t blame you. If I ever find out though, I’ll let you know. For now, let’s keep in touch, I want you to know that despite what Sarah did, I always thought you were a good fit for her and for whatever it’s worth, I thought you two would have been great together.
Eric Price (on the phone): Perhaps, we’ll never know and it will never be. Frankly, it’s wishing upon a world that never was. Anyway, I have to go, I have to finish up an interview here, I’ll talk to you soon.
Rachel Twilight (on the phone): No problem. Thanks and good luck at War!
*Eric hangs up his phone and looks out toward the ocean and smiles as he takes a deep breath of the fresh coastal air and smiles*
Eric Price: Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is here.
*Eric walks back into the house to continue his interview*
Scene IV: The Break and Return – 5:15 PM – Eric Price’s House in Pacific Palisades, CA
*The scene opens back up with the camera crew ready to film the second portion of the interview between Barbara Walters and Eric Price. Eric takes a seat back down in the right-hand plush suede chair as Barbara is already seated and ready to start again. The camera crew counts down for the interview to resume filming*
Barbara Walters: Welcome back to this interview special with my guest Eric Price!
*Eric waves toward the camera with a smile on his face*
Barbara Walters: So, we last left off where you basically quit from the business in early 2010 as you were sick of the politics.
Eric Price: That’s correct.
Barbara Walters: So I have to ask … I know we see a lot of altercations on screen between many wrestlers but do such altercations happen backstage or do you all get along?
Eric Price: Sometimes, far worse altercations happen backstage with far worse words thrown out simply because some don’t agree with the direction a company is headed. I hate to say this Barbara but the fact is that success breeds hate and envy … that’s just how it goes, and this is true in any business really, why should professional wrestling be an exception?
Barbara Walters: Fair enough. So you left the business in early 2010? What did you do after that?
Eric Price: Well … I’d had enough of my “dream” if you will. I guess my dream turned into a nightmare because it was not what I’d expected it to be, I always expected success to be fun and great but instead it turned disgusting and hate inducing. Like I said earlier, I got to a point where I hated coming into to work and realized it wasn’t for me so I went back to the world of investments. I thought about launching a senatorial campaign as it was 2010 but I didn’t want to spend a bunch of my own money spewing out BS rhetoric to please people. Honestly, I am me and I will tell it like it is and politics … well, I don’t think they’re ready for something that radical. So I laid low and just let my money work for me. I took the time to pen a book, “Secrets of Investment Success”, which I ended up launching finally in mid 2012.
*Barbara at this time picks up a book from the table showing “Secrets of Investment Success” by Eric Price*
Barbara Walters: Yes and it’s a fine book, I took a read of some of it and it really offers a lot of good investment tips.
Eric Price: Indeed it does. Available at fine bookstores everywhere.
Barbara Walters: Anything else you did during your hiatus from the business?
Eric Price: Not really … like I said I just worked with my investments. Having to leave my dream honestly depressed me because I loved being there, I loved competing and I loved the thrill of wrestling, nothing quite matches that adrenaline rush. Then all of a sudden, around late 2011, I start getting phone calls from an old friend of mine … at the time anyway, Tek. He called me about getting back into the business and I just ignored those calls because I had no interest. Finally right around Christmas 2011, he actually came by my house.
Barbara Walters: Just came up and knocked?
Eric Price: Pretty much, he came up, knocked and I answered and was shocked to see him. He really pleaded his case for me to come back to the business, literally begging me to join this group he was forming soon. Well … I should really go back a step, before this happened, in early to mid 2011, I got a call from him to come into WCF and I took a gander of the product just to see what it was all about. At the time, Seth Lerch had taken leave from the company and some rather seedy individuals were running it. Needless to say I had no interest in competing and refused. But now things had changed, Seth had come back and was running the day to day operations of the Wrestling Championship Federation. I told Tek that fateful evening in December of 2011 that I’d think about coming back.
Barbara Walters: What weighed in on your mind in that return?
Eric Price: Well honestly, as I said, I missed the thrill of competition and the thrill of wrestling. Unlike some people in this business … *ahem* Doc Henry … I do this because I enjoy the sport, not just for a paycheck. So I told him I’d think about it and honestly, I did really sit and think on this matter. I weighed in heavily of whether I’d come back to the business that had wronged me so just two years prior and would I deal with the same level of politics and nonsense I had dealt with before. At the time, Tek told me the group would consist of Steeltoe Joe, Nic Daniels, Tek, and myself and that we would all reach the pinnacle of success. I knew it was a bad idea to return to a group with Nic Daniels in it because he and I never saw eye to eye, this experience was no different.
Barbara Walters: Did you know at the time it was going to end badly?
Eric Price: Hmm … not really, a gut feeling told me it would but I wanted to believe that it would all work out. I was right and wrong at the same time.
Barbara Walters: Interesting. When we return, Eric Price’s come back to the professional wrestling industry and what he feels went wrong with it, stay tuned.
*The filming cuts as the production crew quickly takes in a TV to be setup and plugged in on the table in between the chairs to display some footage with the interview. As of now, it shows a logo that says “Walters/Price: The Interview” spinning around*
Scene V: The Return and Mistakes Made – 5:25 PM – Eric Price’s House in Pacific Palisades, CA
*The scene opens back up with the camera crew ready to resume filming of the interview as they cue in Barbara*
Barbara Walters: And we’re back! So Eric … we left off when you were about to make your return to the professional wrestling industry, tell us about that.
Eric Price: Well … after listening to Tek’s incessant pleas begging me to come back and my own want to really return to the business that indeed was my dream, I decided to give it a go and come back to the business that had eschewed me only two years prior at that time. I made my return at Payback 2012.
*Footage begins to be shown on the TV showing Eric Price running down and helping save Tek from an attack by the GLS, a short-lived trio around at that time*
Barbara Walters: Ah, I see, there you are helping out your friend Tek.
Eric Price: Yes, I saved him from that assault at the time and made my triumphant return with it. I had talked to Seth Lerch, owner of the company at the time and he liked what I brought to the table and we inked a deal. Unlilke in 2011 when the previous management was a bunch of dolts who thought Adam Young and Odin Balfore were worthy of being World Champions, Seth had vision and Seth understood how to run the business correctly. He may not have been the most fair man to some but ultimately and I still believe this to this day, he did what he did in the interest of ameliorating the business and his company.
Barbara Walters: So you inked a deal with the Wrestling Championship Federation and Seth Lerch brought you on board.
Eric Price: Yes I did and he did bring me on board. Big mistake to join Tek’s little group though, at the time known as “The Society”, honestly what an embarrassment, brings back bad memories.
*Eric cringes just at the memory of his time in this group*
Eric Price: I … I cannot espouse just how big of a mistake that was to join that group. The group was going nowhere fast and honestly it became the laughing stock of the company. It was an embarrassment but let’s get to the breakup of the group, which is the worst of it. It was in March of that year, Nic Daniels and I had a shot at getting a title match for the Tag Team Titles and despite nearly having the match, he executes his finishing maneuver on me and leaves me hung out to dry costing us the match and our shot. One week later, he gets granted a number one contender’s match for the World Title whereas I was relegated to nothing.
Barbara Walters: So at the time, you were overlooked?
*Eric takes a deep breath remembering the era well*
Eric Price: To say the least. Of the Society, later renamed that horrible grammatical abomination the Mulisha … ugh, still hated that idea. Anyway … yeah, here’s the group was broken down at the time in most peoples’ eyes and most of my peers’ eyes … Tek and Steeltoe Joe were the tag team specialists and would dominate the tag team scene, Nic Daniels was to be the break out star and a future World Champion and yours truly Eric Price … I … I was simply a footnote that would fade into obscurity and be forgotten because I would never amount to anything.
*Eric looks down and folds his hands as he shakes his head thinking about those times*
Eric Price: Needless to say that to be catalogued that way, it will piss you off. To be seen as an afterthought is certainly a huge insult to you and it reminded me why I hated this business and how politicking got everyone ahead. Mind you, at this time Jonny Fly was starting his unprecedented dominance of WCF. At the time, I was nothing more than a footnote set to be forgotten, this was at the end of March 2012, Explosion PPV just finishing up. April 2012 rolled around and I had gotten fed up with being part of a laughing stock and being a laughing stock myself. I finally started standing up for myself and making a name for myself. What shocked me at the time is despite the fact that Nic Daniels betrayed me, it was somehow all my fault and I was seen as the one to blame for all the problems of the group and of our failures.
Barbara Walters: But how did it get to that point where it was all your failures because thus far, you had not failed anything or anyone, if anything it seems as if you were the only one who stuck it out with the group.
Eric Price: It … it boggles the mind really. Truthfully to that point, I had been the only one who stuck to the group and wanted to make it successful but everyone else wanted to pull in their own direction. Finally, I’d had enough and Nic Daniels and I butted heads again and I decided to beat him at his own game. That brought us to our controversial match at Aftermath 2012 where the ending is still mentioned.
*The ending to the match at Aftermath 2012 between Eric Price and Nic Daniels is shown. A referee is down and another referee had just run into the match to officiate. Eric Price grabbed Nic Daniels by the legs and locked him into a sharpshooter and the referee immediately rang the bell and awarded the match to Eric Price as both him and the referee quickly ran out of there, the scene skipping to show them running to a waiting car and immediately leaving the arena*
Barbara Walters: Now this brings about an interesting question … did you screw Nic Daniels out of that matchup?
*Eric folds his hands again for a second and thinks before answering this question, he then unfolds them and puts them on the arm rests on each side of the chair in which he is sitting*
Eric Price: Did I screw Nic Daniels? The answer is no … I didn’t screw Nic Daniels. I simply paid him back for what he had done to me one month prior and made sure he understood that I was not going to be taken advantage of as he had done to me before. It was at this point that I had an epiphany and realized I had to take matters into my own hands. It was also on this fateful night that I finally approached one Sarah Twilight and made a business proposal that changed the history of WCF.
Barbara Walters: Indeed it did. Tell us about your first encounter with Sarah Twilight and what drew you to her.
Eric Price: What drew me to her. Well … as you can see from her picture there, she is beautiful no doubt. That gorgeous red hair, beautiful emerald green eyes, and that figure ... oh boy, she was the woman every man wanted … superficially anyway. At the time I didn’t realize that but we’ll get to that part of the story later, for now, all I knew is she was beautiful but more than that, she had a hell of a lot of talent. She had faced off against Jonny Fly at Explosion 2012 and come up short. Then at XIII on April 13th, 2012, she served as a special guest referee in a World Title match between Jonny Fly and Jay Price where in a shocker of shockers, Jay Price managed to defeat Jonny Fly for the World Title. That setup a triple threat rematch for Aftermath 2012 with Jonny Fly versus Sarah Twilight versus Jay Price.
Barbara Walters: It was a great match by the way.
Eric Price: Yes it was. Unfortunately, Jonny Fly emerged victorious that night beating Jay Price and reclaiming the World Title for himself yet again. It was after the match that night I approached Sarah Twilight about trying to make her a success.
Barbara Walters: Did she accept right away?
Eric Price: Well, it took some convincing. She claimed that she could attain success all by herself but at the time, she had had two World Title shots and come up empty. But I believed there was more going on that met the eye. I told her I believed there was collusion going on between Jonny Fly and Corey Black as he presents the XIII events but I didn’t realize how right I was at the time and how far it went. At the time, I didn’t tell her but I believed she too was part of said collusion but that she got played by them because in reality, Jay Price is a weak competitor and a sorry ass excuse for a wrestler.
Barbara Walters: What are your issues with Jay Price?
Eric Price: Oh good lord, a plethora. The man is honestly a sorry excuse of a pathetic human being, a drug addicted drunkard! He cannot compete on his own weight and always expects others to carry his sorry ass hence why he joined This Is War, Pantheon, Cryogenix, etc. He expects to be gifted titles by kissing up because he can’t win them on his own, the man can’t draw a dime, never has. He’s claimed to be Jay “Motherfucking” Price a hundred million times and yet no one gives a crap about it, he’s never really done anything but be a follower. Jay Price is no leader and even his World Title reign proves that his career is nothing but a fluke, 16 days! 16 friggin’ days! That’s ridiculous and embarrassing. See … I may personally dislike Jonny Fly on some things but I downright despise Jay Price but worse than that, I honestly have no respect for the man because he doesn’t deserve it. Shooting straight here, he’s an embarrassment to WCF.
Barbara Walters: Harsh words against him but what about Jonny Fly, you said you disliked him.
Eric Price: I dislike Jonny Fly but I have to respect what he’s done in this business. Like him or not, he’s more often victorious than not, he also had three World Title reigns last year, THREE! That’s huge. Admittedly, he got beaten by Jay Price and FPV, to end two of his title reigns, which is amazing in and of itself as it shows he has a huge weakness in getting beaten at the weirdest occasions by the most unlikely people but the fact is he has a great track record. I respect him but that doesn’t mean I won’t stand toe to toe with him and beat him at his own game. See … Jonny Fly is a lot of things to a lot of people but the fact is he has a smugness about him that ultimately is his undoing. He carries this air of unwarranted self-importance about himself, which often will get him into trouble because in his mind, he cannot lose. That is a huge flaw to have because if you think you can’t lose, when reality comes and you do lose, you won’t know how to deal with it. I’ll get back to him later though because I have plenty more to say about him.
Barbara Walters: Fair enough. Now getting back to your initial meeting with Sarah Twilight.
Eric Price: Yes … regardless I decided to talk business with her and promised her success. At the time, she thought I was insane considering I hadn’t made much of an impact in WCF up to that point. But I honestly did not walk into WCF to be mediocre or second best, I walked in to be THE best and I had at that point decided I was going to make that happen!
Barbara Walters: May of 2012, when we return, the ascent of Eric Price and his workings with Sarah Twilight. Stay tuned.
*The scene fades to black*
Scene VI: The Ascent and A Detour – 5:40 PM – Eric Price’s House in Pacific Palisades, CA
*The scene opens up again with Eric Price and Barbara Walters sitting in opposite chairs as the sun is really setting at this point and the camera crew is cueing in Barbara to resume filming*
Barbara Walters: Welcome back, interviewing tonight my special guest Eric Price, former owner and current competitor in the Wrestling Championship Federation. Before break, you were discussing how you had decided it was time to make an impact.
Eric Price: Yes, the beginning of May 2012, I decided it was time to prove a point and I did just that. You see, just a week or two prior to that, I realized that no one just who I was in WCF or what I brought to the organization, I was a footnote, a blip on the radar that no one cared about. Nic Daniels was supposed to be the breakout star of the group and I was supposed to be forgotten trash but I decided to change course; I did what anyone who wants to make a name for themselves does, I attacked the biggest kahuna in the ocean … I attacked then World Champion Jonny Fly! I beat the holy hell out of him and made a point at his expense that people would remember my name and just who I am!
*Footage is shown on the TV when Eric Price with the assistance of twelve very large men assaults Jonny Fly after they had restrained Fly for him. A line is shown that Eric Price says after the assault:
Eric Price will not be held down any longer! I’m coming for each and every one of you until I get to the World Champion. Everyone is on notice!*
Eric Price: That was huge. A lot of people thought I was crazy for doing what I did and lot of people still believed I wouldn’t amount to anything but they knew who I was at that point. When I told them I’d be World Champion, many laughed right in my face, some behind my back because it was just insane to them that I would get to such a high level.
Barbara Walters: So from there, people actually took notice.
Eric Price: Surprisingly yes, though I later learned only to see how quickly I would fail even though the failure never materialized obviously. Fast forward to the pay per view at the end of that month, Asesinato De Mayo 2012, I had a Last Man Standing Match against Nic Daniels where I finally ended him and his tenure in the company.
Barbara Walters: And a Last Man Standing match is a match where the only way to win is for one competitor to beat his opponent so badly that the opponent cannot get up for a 10 count.
Eric Price: That’s correct and I did just that, I beat and massacred Nic Daniels and I did it to prove a point, that I meant business and that I was to be taken seriously. That night however, I witnessed what I consider an absolutely disgusting display. Instead of facing Logan, Jonny Fly decides to invite his friends to beat up Logan, the team of Treachery, and then decides to form Pantheon and eat cake all with the assistance of one Bobby Cairo. I … that was supposed to be a World Title match main event and instead they ruin the whole thing and just eat cake … absolutely ridiculous. They never revealed this publicly but do you know how many phone calls we got complaining and requesting refunds for the pay per view due to the joke of a main event that was … it was embarrassing. Fly touts it as the beginning of greatness with the formation of Pantheon but in reality, all anyone saw was the formation of an ego trip.
Barbara Walters: Pantheon … now that was a group comprised of Jonny Fly, Bobby Cairo, Kid and later Polar Phantasm, and Jeff Purse.
Eric Price: Originally … yes, it was those guys ... oh ... and Corey Black was added early on too or at its inception, I can't quite recall nor do I truly care really. I … I have a lot to say about Pantheon, believe me, a lot. I’ll elaborate more on this in a bit but to say that the group was an ego trip is an understatement. And the truth of the matter is, even though they still believe that they were beloved by all and that some were just jealous, the fact of the matter is as an outsider looking in, I can tell you very seriously that at least 85% of my peers in the locker room absolutely despised and hated Pantheon with a passion rivaling religious extremist groups. That’s how bad they were disliked; their air of unwarranted self-importance only served for further fuel the fire against them. But I digress and will discuss them later in detail.
Barbara Walters: So Pantheon had formed however you took a detour from chasing for the World Title and formed a partnership with a friend … well now, former friend apparently in Jonathan Jakobs.
*Eric shakes his head remembering those days*
Eric Price: Jon Jakobs … I’m not going to try and erase the past and say that he was a mistake in terms of picking talent because in my opinion, he wasn’t … at the time. Let’s take context of the time, this was early June of 2012, I was still kind of a blip on the radar but fairly well known, still barely scraping mid card status. Jakobs however was higher up on the mid card than I was so I decided to partner with him by bringing him into the fold. He was a smart man and simply wanted to earn a better living and be a success and I thought he could easily do that provided we worked together. We formed a tag team, we even became Tag Team Champions!
*On the TV, a picture of Eric Price and Jon Jakobs are shown as Tag Team Champions, both in suits standing in the ring proudly wearing the titles*
Eric Price: Yes, we became champions in mid July of 2012. Frankly, I thought Jon was an interesting piece of talent and a good piece of business in the ring but then just as quickly as we won the titles, we lost them. I had introduced Jon to the night club business and he took to it quicker than I could have ever imagined and he decided to concentrate on that and abandon wrestling for a while, hence the quick loss. I didn’t take it personally and just figured he wanted to go on his own way. During this time however between June and July, I also got the ball rolling with Sarah Twilight and also started dealing with an issue named Jeff Purse.
Barbara Walters: How’d you get the ball rolling with Sarah Twilight?
Eric Price: My plan is I wanted to groom her as the World Champion but she wanted to do things her way. I had no problem with it except to me it was absolutely sickening what she wanted to do but I embraced it. Mainly because I thought it would really change her but instead it didn’t, it only made her even sicker.
Barbara Walters: What did she want to do?
Eric Price: Well … as I said, the plan is she was to be World Champion and we were going to bring about that success. However, she wanted an added bonus, she wanted to make the fans love and idolize her through the process until she made it to the top only for her to rip the carpet out from under them and reveal herself as the real evil queen bitch that she is. Honestly, I never saw someone take so much pleasure from bringing so many people down at once; I never understood her sick fascination with manipulation of that nature. Anyway … in June, she bought out her contract from Seth Lerch so she could choose to return at a later time.
Barbara Walters: Why not just start rolling the plan at that time?
Eric Price: It just didn’t make sense to do it so fast. It is said that the audience is often fickle and we figured if enough time were to pass, they’d forget Sarah was kind of evil because at that point, she hadn’t done anything too bad and they’d readily accept her as a glad-handing hero. Buying out her contract allowed her to return whenever she pleased. Sure she was a tag team champion at the time but her tag team partner Ayria Adams meant nothing to her as she clearly stated at the time. The Egg McMuffin of wrestling.
Barbara Walters: What does that even mean?
*Eric just shakes his head completely mystified at that last statement he made*
Eric Price: Not a clue. But Ayria called herself that for some strange reason. I think she had a fascination with McDonald’s but that’s neither here nor there; Sarah bought out her contract and I had her take lessons with my lawyer David Monati on how to be nice.
Barbara Walters: What do you mean lessons? She had to learn to be nice?
Eric Price: Amazingly … yes. See … Sarah is a great example of a psychopath as she’s not quite right in the head. A normal person knows how to smile and be nice, Sarah had no clue how to do that properly. All she knew was hatred and evil and anger … honestly speaking, I kinda liked her when she was pretending to be nice because she would at least smile. Sure, it was a fake smile but it seemed genuine … and to be quite candid here, the reason I went along with it is that part of me hoped she would embrace being nice and that she would become that way. Sadly that never materialized to reality and was just a world that never was.
Barbara Walters: You had feelings for her?
Eric Price: I didn’t realize it at that time but I honestly did have feelings for her.
Barbara Walters: How did your issue with Jeff Purse start out?
Eric Price: With Jeff it was simple … he decided to join the decadent group known as Pantheon and he often hid behind that name. I challenged him for a match with his US Title on the line and he and Jonny Fly, the leader of Pantheon flat out refused saying I was not worthy of a shot. That infuriated me to no end because I was not about to have anyone tell me I wasn’t worthy of what I felt was a fair shot, which is all I really wanted. I never asked them to gift me the title or something, I simply asked for a one-on-one chance to see if I deserved to be the US Champion and I was continually turned down and being told I simply was not good enough was unacceptable in my book.
Eric Price: At the time, I remember thinking to myself who the hell did these tools think they were … because honestly, it takes someone with a massive ego to refuse to defend a title against any comer simply because they felt it was beneath them to contemplate someone as … in their minds anyway … undeserving as me. So I simply bided my time and continued chipping away at the façade that was Jeff Purse and his title reign. Ultimate Showdown came around and he lost the US Title and traded it in for the TV Title and that’s when I made my move, two weeks after that! I lost the tag titles due to Jakobs insistence on focusing on his outside businesses so I moved on and I challenged Jeff Purse for the TV Title!
Barbara Walters: I understand at the time you also sexually assaulted his girlfriend Kari Kendall … is this true?
*Eric pauses and thinks to himself for a moment, smirking in the process*
Eric Price: You know … that’s a question that’s come up before to me and I’ve never really had to answer it point blank. I guess I’ll answer it in this way … honestly what is sexual assault really? I didn’t really feel her up or anything, I simply approached her and told her that her boyfriend as going to lose to me that evening. I then propositioned a kiss from her and when she decided to slap me, I defended myself and slapped her right back!
*Footage starts playing on the TV where it shows Eric Price after the slap that Kari Kendall gave him on the August 12th, 2012 edition of Slam where he grabs her and forcibly kisses her on the lips dropping her when he’s done*
Barbara Walters: It seems the footage says otherwise.
*Eric’s smile turns into a frown*
Eric Price: Okay fine, I forcibly kissed her! Was it right to do? No … but I won’t take back what I did and I certainly won’t deny that I did it. For the record, I didn’t do it because I’m some depraved predator or something … I did it because it debilitated Jeff mentally … see I’d been trying so far at that point to get him through his humor but I realized if I really wanted to beat him effectively, then I had to hit him where it hurt and that was by making use of his girlfriend. As I said at the beginning of this, I believe that all is fair in love and war and when you’re in a battle, you do what you have to to succeed and WIN! History is always written by the victors and never by the losers and I was not about to become a footnote in the history of the professional wrestling industry and I was certainly not going to allow a group of self-righteous sycophants to keep me down. So that night, in what I consider a great match and the first of my real ascent to the top … I beat the holy hell out of Jeff Purse and I won my first single’s title in WCF, the Television Title!
Barbara Walters: When we come back, we’ll delve deeper into your TV Title reign, your detour in GEW and the WAR match of 2012! Back in a bit!
*The cameras cut filming as Eric leans back and speaks to Barbara off the record*
Eric Price: You know Barbara … I have to admit … I kind of expected that last question to come up but didn’t think of how to handle it. But at the same time, it feels good to finally just be honest about it and let it out … a lot of people gave me flack for it and they probably still will but I won’t deny what it was.
Barbara Walters: Fair enough, I didn’t think you’d answer it either. I honestly thought you’d dodge it as best you could.
*Eric smirks a bit*
Eric Price: I can’t say I blame you for thinking that, I have a reputation to protect after all but if this is going to be an effective interview, no punches can be pulled and we just have to tell it like it is.
*The scene fades off for a bit as the producers call for a 5 minute break*
Scene VII: The TV Title and War 2012 – 5:55 PM – Eric Price’s House in Pacific Palisades, CA
*The scene opens up with Eric Price sitting down again in his plush chair and Barbara already seated as the camera crew is cueing Barbara back in to resume filming*
Barbara Walters: And welcome back as we resume our special interview with Eric Price. We left off at you winning the Television Title from Jeff Purse and also having the incident with Kari Kendall.
Eric Price: Quite an incident it was too because I remember at the time the criticism I drew for it. The irony in the criticism is that it came from people who were known for being womanizers and using women as objects so it felt kind of hollow. Particularly from Jonny Fly and even some idiot named Terry Roberts of all people, it made no sense. I did nothing they wouldn’t do yet somehow I was vilified for it … don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t right of me to do but at the same time it was a case of the pot calling the kettle black so it was a strange sighting.
Barbara Walters: Then came the bet.
*Eric smiles and chuckles a bit*
Eric Price: Oh the bet … yeah, I still get a lot of questions and criticism over this. It came down to the fact that Jeff Purse wanted a shot at my TV Title after I had beaten him for it and I thought I’d marginalize him as he had done to me for so long and simply refuse to fight him for it. Therefore I threw out a stipulation saying that I’d do it so long as his girlfriend gave me a kiss on the lips. I knew he’d never go for it so then I said fair enough and then Kari of all people said that if I were to win, then she would give me a kiss on the lips. I never predicted nor did I see that coming at all … so I was in a jam because I was on live television and couldn’t just say “let me think about this” or stand there stuttering, I had to respond. In the heat of moment, I said YES! I had to one up my competition somehow and I knew it would grab attention and boy did it ever. I remember at the time, Seth Lerch approached me backstage and … I’ve never discussed this before but he came to me and said I needed to remain the TV Champ for a while to make a statement and to teach the rookies how it’s done. He placed his faith in me as the future of the company unbeknownst to many as he believed in my success at this point and knew I’d make it. I took great heart in that because it meant so much that someone else finally believed in my success and the boss of all people no less. Sure many people hate on Seth for free but I can’t hate the man, he’s always helped me and supported me throughout my career therefore I have nothing but the utmost respect for him, even now.
Barbara Walters: So you had the match at the Revenge pay-per-view that month?
Eric Price: Yes, it was a ladder match to boot!
*Footage starts playing on the TV of the Ladder Match between Eric Price and Jeff Purse for the TV Title at Revenge 2012 as Eric continues to speak about it*
Eric Price: It was a hellacious contest and we both gave it our all. In the end however on that night, I managed to beat him and retain the Television Title. Then of course came the obvious problem … the bet. Many expected me not to follow through but like any consummate performer, I did the most chauvinistic thing I could do and not only did I follow through with the bet, but I did in style. The rationale I used at the time was that she made the bet, not me and I simply accepted the terms and was honoring those terms. I knew it was a croc and no one would buy it but I went ahead with it anyway because love it or hate it, fact is that controversy creates ratings.
*Footage switches on the TV and starts playing the segment from the September 2nd, 2012 edition of Slam showing where Eric Price is about to kiss Kari only for her to slap him in the face. He then grabs her and starts beating her up as Jeff is being restrained*
Barbara Walters: How do you explain that?
*Eric scratches the back of his head a bit and gives an expression of uncertainty*
Eric Price: Well … it is what it is. At the time, I was determined to make a mark in the industry no matter the cost and this was part of that cost. Yes, I know it looks bad but to be fair … TO BE FAIR … that segment alone garnered the highest ratings on Slam up to that point … that said something to me, it told me people were interested.
Barbara Walters: But they hated you.
Eric Price: Perhaps but here’s the thing, in the professional wrestling industry, you want the fans to either really love you or really hate you because that means they’re invested in your character. If you walk out onto the entrance stage and you get a tepid or non-reaction meaning no cheers or boos … then you’re in real trouble because that means no one either knows who you are or worse yet, no one gives a damn who you are. Then you end up an Adam Young.
Barbara Walters: I take it you don’t like Adam Young?
Eric Price: It’s not so much that I don’t like Adam Young, it’s that I have no respect for him, I really can’t. Honestly, the dude is worthless jobber trash and I say this without any hyperbole but he really brings nothing of worth to the active roster of wrestlers. If I often say the phrase “all the talent backstage”, referring to the wrestlers as talent, I’d have to say “all the talent and Adam Young” because Adam Young is not talented. From bringing in a countless number of go nowhere teams a year to stinking up the airwaves with sagging ratings and completely inexplicable and uninteresting segments, fact is no one cares what he does or has to say. If you ever want the definition of a tepid and uninterested reaction, Adam Young is a great example of that.
Barbara Walters: So back to…
Eric Price: No, hang on a second, I’m on a roll here. Speaking of wastes of space, let’s talk about Doc Henry and Tek for that matter. First up Doc Henry … now there’s a guy who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word continuity because he seems to flip-flop more than your average politician. He’s supposed to be the Confederate Champion, a title he made up on his own and carries around needlessly; he claims he’s defended it before and although I have seen one or two defenses of it, the title itself is meaningless trash as he gave it to himself and only defends it when he believes he has a sure shot of winning. He’s been around longer than most in WCF and yet amounts to absolutely nothing but a joke. And Tek … oh good lord Tek … what can I say about the man that at one point was my friend and brought me to WCF? Honestly … Tek is a great example of a character actor.
Barbara Walters: How do you figure?
Eric Price: He changes outfits and personalities more than performers in Vegas. Seriously, he’s gone from being a street thug, to a mask wearing break dancer, to being a wild card, to being a moocher with Genesis, to being cold blooded and uncaring … seriously, who the hell is Tek? I don’t even think Tek knows who the hell Tek is anymore because he is so ambivalent and inconsistent that no one could possibly follow and understand what he’s trying to get at; though I see what he’s attempting to do. He figures if he changes, somehow he’ll reach that pinnacle of success because he believes that if he doesn’t achieve immediate success, the thing to do is just up and change completely while always looking for a scapegoat to blame whether it be myself, Steeltoe Joe, the fans, the weather, his ugly face, whatever it may be … he’ll find someone to blame but I think he should take a good long look in the mirror and realize what the real issue is … maybe then he’ll have just a slight chance at actually resolving the problem.
Barbara Walters: You feel better?
Eric Price: Yeah, I do. Sorry about that, what were we talking about … oh that’s right, Purse. Yes, I honored the bet and yes, I beat up his girlfriend Kari as well as Purse himself on that fateful September evening taking him out of action for a few weeks. You see … part of the plan that Sarah Twilight and I had conjured up needed me to become World Champion and with War right around the corner, we saw the opportunity. Now …
Barbara Walters: Before we get to War, there is one thing I have to ask. Since you mentioned Tek and Steeltoe Joe, you kind of glazed over your tag team title run with Jonathan Jakobs.
Eric Price: Jakobs … yeah. Jon and I won the tag team titles from a team … you know I can barely remember their names, they could be named impy and chimpy for all I care but the thing is we beat them. I remember at the time, I had charted a road of success for us because I wanted us to become double champions and reach the zenith of success but Jon … he just wasn’t as driven to be in the wrestling business as I was. Don’t get me wrong, he had the ability but he just never had the real drive to make it … he always and even to this day still needs someone to help him with that step up. That’s all I ever really tried to do for Jon, I tried to help him reach a higher level of success but he never could quite get it done. Hence why our title run was so short when we defended against Prophecy, which at the time was the team of Tek and Steeltoe Joe. I had a bad feeling going into that match at the Ultimate Showdown pay-per-view of 2012; but I went in and braved the match but ultimately, it was Jon that got pinned.
*Eric shakes his head*
Eric Price: I’m not going to make excuses for what happened but fact is our run as tag team champions ended as quickly as it had started and I knew it was time to move on. Jon wanted to focus on running his nightclub, which at the time we owned 50/50 so I let him … I figured it was a good source of income and at the same time, I wasn’t going to force him to be in an industry where he couldn’t give it his all.
Barbara Walters: Isn’t Jon one of the people that recently stabbed you in the back during your wedding?
*Eric takes a deep breath of anger and cracks his neck as he makes an expression that clearly shows his anger and resentment over that moment*
Eric Price: Oh yeah … that was him. But let’s not discuss that part yet, I have a lot to say regarding that but I want to save that for later as I would rather remain cognizant as I tell this story.
Barbara Walters: So you were coming up on the War match last year.
Eric Price: Yes, Purse was out of the picture, the only hair in the soup that remained was Jonny Fly, the World Champion at the time. See Jonny … he’s an interesting character. I respect him for what he’s done in this business but at the same time, I detest his disingenuous nature and his constant arrogance for what he claims he’s done for the business. He considers himself the measuring stick and the best of the best but yet … honestly in his title reigns … he got beat for the title by Jay Price and FPV of all people but I could deal with that except for the fact that Jonny Fly … I hate to say this but he really is one of the most mundane people on the planet. Seriously … his matches have been nothing special, with the exception of his match at One against Seth Lerch, that was a classic. But other than that, average to good at best but his biggest flaw honestly is the fact that he places too much stock in himself. He truly believes himself to be unbeatable, which in the end will be his undoing. I cannot stress that enough, as much respect as I have for the man but he is asking to be knocked down. He came back at an interesting time for this War match but is he going to win? Absolutely not.
Barbara Walters: Let’s get back to War one year ago though when Jonny Fly was on his third run as World Champion. He was set to defend the title prior to the War match and then the War match was to determine his number one contender but that changed prior to the match starting as Jonny Fly was arrested and stripped of the title and the War match instead became for the title. You however just a few minutes ago stated that you knew the time was right for taking the title in the War match.
Eric Price: That’s correct.
Barbara Walters: My question is … prior to the War match, prior to even the War pay-per-view event last year, did you already know what was going to happen to Jonny Fly and if so, did you have anything to do with it?
*Eric looks up at the ceiling for a bit and smirks a bit as he chuckles. He then looks at Barbara and begins to explain…*
Eric Price: Did I know what was going to happen to Jonny Fly that night prior to the event even starting? Absolutely I did. This is where my business relationship with Seth Lerch paid off very well … he told me what he had planned prior to the War event so I knew what was coming and was preparing mentally for my World Title shot.
Barbara Walters: Did Sarah know?
Eric Price: Yes, I told her about it. With Purse out of the picture, the timing was right … or so I thought. See … Jeff Purse is a resilient bastard and he came back one week before the War pay-per-view event unexpectedly in a monster truck and assaulted me.
*Footage is shown on the television of the September 23rd, 2012 edition of Slam with the ending being Jeff Purse driving into the arena in a huge monster truck and Eric Price and Jeff Purse just beating each other up. The footage continues to play in the background as Eric continues to speak…*
Eric Price: Admittedly … I had given him just cause for it but I did not realize that was going to happen. That threw a huge wrench into my plans but I still figured with the elimination of Jonny Fly, there would be no issues.
Barbara Walters: That brings me back again to the question you still haven’t answered. You obviously knew about what was going to happen to Jonny Fly as you just admitted. Now then, did you have anything to do with perpetrating that scheme?
Eric Price: Honestly … I’d love to say that I can take all the credit but the fact is I cannot. That was all Seth Lerch. Was it the right thing to do? No. Was it fair? Absolutely not. Did I feel it was the right thing for the business at the time? Yes. Little did I realize at the time that it didn’t help the endgame result.
Barbara Walters: So you went into the War match … if I remember correctly and I know I do, I tried to interview you at the time on “The View” and you slapped me across the face?
*Eric laughs a bit*
Eric Price: That’s right I did. I … I lost my temper at the time, that was not the right thing to do and it was just me losing my composure at the immediate situation I was dealing with at that time. Regardless, the War match came about and I somehow made it to the end with Jeff Purse, him and I were in the center of that ring at the end of the War match, the last two competitors in the match. In what was certainly the match of the year or should have been at least … two guys who were honestly considered mid-carders nearly the whole year had become main eventers in an instant. It was a turning point for both his career and mine as we were fighting it out with the World Title on the line.
Barbara Walters: And Purse got the better of you that night?
Eric Price: At War … yes, he unfortunately beat me. It’s … it’s hard. You see Barbara … I had never planned on losing that event. I never even bothered to create a contingency plan because I was convinced in my mind that the War match was mine to take yet I underestimated what it really was and that was all my fault. Despite Fly being out of the picture, Purse came in and stole the moment and hey … I’ll give credit where credit is due, he deserved that moment.
Barbara Walters: What was your initial reaction to the loss at that time?
*Eric moves his head around a bit rather evasively as he feels a bit uncomfortable discussing this loss; however he takes a quick deep breath and readies himself calmly to discuss these events*
Eric Price: I … you know I’ve never discussed this before with anyone and I mean absolutely any one, just no one has ever heard this from my point of view before or even about it happening. But the fact is that after I lost the War match last year … I honestly had no clue how to react. The plan had failed and I did not succeed in becoming World Champion at that time. It was a huge setback and honestly I became rather depressed.
Barbara Walters: And then you faced Waylon Cash with the TV Title on the line one week after War?
Eric Price: Yes … I had accepted the challenge prior to War happening. My idea was that I would win War, win the World Title, and then just drop the TV Title to Waylon Cash to get rid of the secondary title. I figured it would be a good segue into my World Title reign but obviously that was not meant to be so when I faced Waylon … I basically phoned in my performance. I had no will, no drive to perform that evening and I didn’t care whether I had won or lost and was just totally unmotivated to do anything at that time so naturally I lost to him.
Barbara Walters: What are your thoughts about Waylon Cash?
Eric Price: Cash … he’s always been a follower, never a leader; and a fluke consistently. The only place where he’s ever had even a modicum of success is in the tag team division and even then, it’s only thanks to his tag team partners every time whether they be John Gable or Steve Orbit because by himself, he is nothing! I’ll tell you, the only World Title reign even more pathetic than Jay Price’s last eyar was Waylon Cash’s title reign that lasted exactly 14 days. That is absolutely embarrassing to only hold that title for two weeks. Speaking of two weeks, you know what other he held for exactly 14 days? The TV Title that he beat me for, which I’d held for two months, he held for 14 days. Truth be told looking back at his career in WCF, the only two singles title runs he’s had in the company each lasted exactly 14 days each … that’s downright pathetic and shows that his nothing but a fluke artist. At War this year, he will not be a factor in the decision as once again, he cannot lead or stand out, he will choke as he always has and lose … as he is so well accustomed to doing.
Barbara Walters: So back to your post-War reaction and then the loss of the TV Title, what was next for Eric Price at the time?
Eric Price: As depressed as I was, I knew I had to get back on my feet. Around that time, Sarah and I conversed and we agreed that it was time for her to make her return to WCF. It was time for the plan to really get rolling … now mind you again, at this time, only Sarah and I knew of the plan, no one else had any inkling of what was happening. I get inserted as the referee for the Hellimination match at the Helloween pay-per-view last year after I spoke to Seth Lerch and also donated some money to the Church of Dark Saints in their cause against Genesis and Pantheon.
Barbara Walters: Genesis and Pantheon?
Eric Price: Yes, Pantheon had formed earlier in the year as we had discussed and then Genesis formed as a sort of response to the threat of the Church of Dark Saints as well as I guess a “me too” group to copy Pantheon although to be fair … Genesis was by far the friendlier and superior of the two groups … Pantheon reeked of self-righteous sycophants and arrogant jerks, which we’ll get to in a bit. So Genesis formed but they needed a fifth person … who better than a returning and heroic Sarah Twilight to answer their beckon call … and that’s exactly what happened. She returned, Pantheon brought back Dake Ken, one of two failures they recruited from the past … I’ll get to that even more in a bit … and the match was on. I was supporting the Church of Dark Saints but as the match rolled on … well, just watch the ending.
*The footage from the ending of the Hellimination match plays with Sarah Twilight and Waylon Cash in the ring as Cash covered Nathan von Liebert, the last remaining member of the Church of Dark Saints, Pantheon at that point had been totally eliminated. The footage shows Eric Price as the referee in that match counting hesitantly and right as the three count approaches, Sarah quickly forces his hand down much to his anger visible on screen.*
Eric Price: Now you see there, Sarah forced my hand down for the three count. A lot of people believed at the time it was to secure the win for her team but there was much more at work there.
Barbara Walters: What did you have in mind? You and Sarah I mean?
Eric Price: A lot. See … if Sarah was going to be a convincing hero, then she needed to go up against a convincing villain … such as myself. And I played the part to a T as on the edition of Slam right after the Helloween pay-per-view, I tried to overturn that decision only to have it shot down by then commissioner Brad Kane.
Barbara Walters: Brad Kane? A man whom you later screwed out of match and fired?
Eric Price: For the record, I will say that yes … I screwed Brad Kane out of a match at the Asesinato De Mayo PPV earlier this year and yes … I fired him. But let’s not discuss that now, that’s for another part of the interview.
Barbara Walters: Fair enough. For now, let’s get back to that plan rolling along. When we come back, we discuss the unfolding of the plan and the build up to the major pay per view, One, when we return.
*The filming stops as the scene fades to black*
Scene VIII: End Of The World, Pantheon’s Return, WCF’s Ownership, and The World Title Match At One – 6:15 PM – Eric Price’s House in Pacific Palisades, CA
*The scene opens up yet again, Eric Price and Barbara Walters both seated opposite each other as the camera crew cues in Barbara to resume the interview*
Barbara Walters: And we’re back for this very special interview with former WCF owner and current WCF Wrestler Eric Price. Before the break, we were discussing Sarah Twilight’s return and the build up to One as well as the plan between you two to make her into a great star as a hero to the many WCF fans around the world.
Eric Price: Yes yes … for this heroic persona to work … Sarah needed to have a strong villain to contend with and I figured if I really wanted to garner sympathy for Sarah, I had to do the unthinkable … I had to tie her up, make her vulnerable and pretend to forcibly sexually assault her by kissing her against her will and I did just that.
*Footage from the November 11th, 2012 edition of Slam plays showing Sarah Twilight handcuffed to the ring ropes as Eric had just pummeled her and then as she was strewn about nearly unconscious, he forcibly grabbed her and kissed her against her will*
Barbara Walters: Isn’t that depraved though?
Eric Price: Depraved, not necessarily. Depraved it would have been had I truly done it against her will but this was all part of the plan and honestly, the fans ate it up at the time. With that one act, that one act alone, she had them in the palm of her hand because as the harassed heroine, she then had free reign to do as she pleased all in the name of revenge whilst having the support of the fans because honestly … who would in their right mind go against someone who was seemingly the victim of sexual assault?
Barbara Walters: I see your point but why go to that extreme?
Eric Price: The reason we went to that extreme is because it had to be believable and also grab everyone’s attention. Attention is grabbed through sensationalistic actions … hell Barbara, you work as a journalist, you should know best about hat. ? But getting back to what was happening, I knew that if I kept pushing the right buttons, I could get Sarah involved in the eventual World Title match that was happening at the One pay-per-view event; that was the end goal of this whole thing … to get her involved in that match somehow. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get her in as an opponent but we got the next best thing … special guest referee.
Barbara Walters: So you two conspired to steal the World Title from Jeff Purse?
Eric Price: Before I answer that question, that brings about another matter that needs to be discussed. This one did catch us all off guard, the sale of WCF from Seth Lerch to Jonny Fly. When Seth shocked the world by informing us he sold WCF to a consortium and then we find out that consortium is a ghost company created by one Jonny Fly … I honestly was shocked and appalled. Then of all things at The End of the World pay-per-view in November of last year … not only is that announced but then of all things … Jay Price announces his return and joins up with Pantheon of all entities … now we have to remember and I guess I should have said this earlier in the interview … Pantheon was originally consisting of the following people, Jonny Fly, Bobby Cairo, Kid Phantasm, Jeff Purse, and Corey Black … and now Jay Price was in their ranks. Why would Jay Price join up with one of the “superstables” as he so called them … an entity he supposedly so hated just a few months prior at Blast in June of 2012 when he refused to resign with WCF?
*Eric chuckles a bit*
Eric Price: It’s amazing how someone can go from being a future gleam of hope to a slut of the lowest category in no time at all and Jay Price managed to do that so well. You know … as much as I loathed this man before … at least before this I had some respect for him because he was his own man to a degree … sure he’d made some mistakes but he learned and realized he needed to do it on his own but then what does he do? He joins up with yet another super stable so they can carry his ass … YET AGAIN. He can claim whatever he wants but in the end, he’s just dead weight to carry around as baggage because he brings zero value to the table except never ending arrogance … dare I say rivaling Jonny Fly’s level of arrogance along with a self-righteous attitude and this idea that he is some legend. But let’s dismiss that for a second, let’s forget about that for a second and get back to three specific men in this group … Jonny Fly, Corey Black, and Jay Price.
*Eric smirks a bit*
Eric Price: Their union … their union proved my point that at XIII in April of 2012, they had colluded to try and keep Sarah Twilight out of their picture and Pantheon became in and of itself a Cliq of sorts as they believed they had the right to anything and everything. And to hear that Fly had bought WCF … I knew instantly what it meant but then he decided to offer Seth one last ditch chance at One to retain his ownership and I so hoped he did. That month of December, I split my efforts … I had to concentrate on winning the World Title but I also wanted to help my friend Seth retain ownership of WCF because I knew that Pantheon owning the company would lead to a disaster.
Barbara Walters: At the time … you actually staked your claim and said that regardless of the outcome of your World Title match at One, that you would walk out of the company if somehow Jonny Fly managed to beat Seth Lerch.
Eric Price: That’s correct.
Barbara Walters: Why so much animosity toward Jonny Fly? Did you feel that you could not coexist with him?
*Eric chuckles a bit again as he folds his hands while explaining…*
Eric Price: It was the Pantheon entity toward which I had a lot of animosity and I knew that if Fly won that ownership … then Pantheon would be in control of the company. Jonny Fly I could have worked with easily but Pantheon, not a shot. And here’s the thing about Pantheon, they did not and even now still don’t quite understand just how hated they were by practically everyone in the locker room.
Barbara Walters: Everyone hated the group known as Pantheon? Are you sure that’s not just your bias projected out?
Eric Price: Hmm … I’d love to tell you that it’s just my bias against the group lashing out but the fact is I knew and could tell they were hated. Any time the name Pantheon is mentioned … even now, it elicits a set of eye rolls that clearly tell a story that people loathed the group, even now. You ask the members of the group, it’s because we were jealous of their success. Truth is, it had nothing to do with jealousy, it was the fact that they claimed to be the best of the best yet they brought in no talent hacks and brought back supposed legends who were nothing but flops and yet still acted like nothing was wrong. Honestly … Dake Ken and Skyler Striker were miserable failures! And then to tell me that Jay Price and Corey Black somehow represent the best of the best … if by best, they mean the most arrogant, cocky, douchebag, assholes I’d ever met in my life … then yes, they were the best of the best in that regard. And speaking of arrogant, cocky, douchebag assholes, Kid also known as Polar Phantasm … now there’s a guy who reeked of being a smug asshole. I … as much as I’m accused of egotism, between Jay Price, Corey Black, and Polar Phantasm alone, I can’t even compete, I define humility compared to them, that’s how bad they are. The only good elements of Pantheon in my view were Jonny Fly, Bobby Cairo, and Jeff Purse, that was it; even though Fly is arrogant but in a way, I could forgive him for that despite not liking it as he always seemed reasonable.
Barbara Walters: Why so much hatred though? There has to be a reason.
*Eric cringes a bit and lets out an angry expression*
Eric Price: You want a reason, I’ll tell you the reason I really despite them and yeah, it might be bitterness but it’s deserved. Fact is, early on in the group’s existence, I had approached Jonny Fly about joining Pantheon myself because I thought I’d be a good fit for the group and that I would bring a good level of additional success to the group and was told to take a hike and that I wasn’t good enough to join his level of talent. This was around June of 2012 and at the time, I did not mind being told that, it hurt a little but I took it in stride and as a sign that I needed to improve. But then … I see him bring in garbage like Corey Black, then Dake Ken … and then Jay Price of all people and he tells me I’m not good enough? That’s an insult, he basically spit in my face when he did that. I’m sorry, but to tell ME that I’M NOT good enough to join his little group yet somehow Jay Price is? That Dake Ken is? Is he serious? I’m sorry but that’s just downright ridiculous! And ultimately that’s Jonny’s downfall always … as talented as he may be, he really does not have a good eye for talent for the most part.
Barbara Walters: But isn’t that just sour grapes?
Eric Price: Perhaps … I won’t deny that part of it is sour grapes but at the same time … to tell me that Jay Price is good enough and I’m not … that’s nonsense. Then Dake Ken and Skyler Striker, they’re good enough and I’m not? Even more ridiculous. What I saw then in Pantheon was all too clear and it took me some time to realize it but it was nothing but Jonny Fly’s sycophant club. The reason he never let me in wasn’t due to my lack of talent … it was because in his mind, I would have superseded him and that would have killed him. At least, that’s what I thought at the time … I was extremely pissed off and offended.
Barbara Walters: What about now? Do you still harbor that resentment toward Jonny Fly?
*Eric makes a face that basically says “comme-ci, comme-ça”*
Eric Price: Not as much as last year. I’ve had time to see things through and think it over and hindsight being 20/20, maybe it was the best move not to join Pantheon. I’m not really that bitter about it anymore, I know I sounded angry just a moment ago but I was really reliving the moment of last year and my feelings about it at that time but now … I don’t really care either way. It was what it was, I can’t hold that resentment forever as it would become toxic.
Barbara Walters: So … Pantheon was on the verge of being in control of the company and you had your big World Title match at One coming!
Eric Price: Yes. We setup a few events to build up the match even more and to also build up the animosity between Sarah Twilight and myself because we really really had to get the fans on Sarah’s side and boy were they ever. I’ll never forget the reception she received at One as the special guest referee in my match.
Barbara Walters: So this brings me back to the question … did you conspire to screw Jeff Purse out of the World Title?
Eric Price: Did we conspire to screw Jeff Purse out of the World Title?
*Eric puts his hands to his mouth and thinks a lot before answering this question*
Eric Price: Honestly … as much as people like to point out our collusion, the fact is we never really planned to screw him out of the title at all. No, the plan was that if I was going to beat him, it was going to be legitimately. The reason Sarah was out there was mainly to ensure that he didn’t retain the title on some technicality like a disqualification or something because with so much bad blood headed into the match, I knew that was a distinct possibility.
Barbara Walters: Also that night prior to your World Title match … Seth Lerch competed against Jonny Fly to retain his ownership of WCF, a match in which you assisted Seth Lerch as best you could in beating up Jonny Fly.
Eric Price: You know, I beat the holy hell out of Jonny Fly that night, I admit that. I nearly killed the man and I don’t regret it one bit because as much as people love to have on Seth and his management style, at least he was upfront about the fact that he didn’t give a damn about anyone but himself but Pantheon tried to act like the saviors of the wrestling world and that sickened me because it was nothing but a farce so I did everything I could to help and Seth had the match won in my view but then due to a referee’s mistake, the match was allowed to continue and out of nowhere, Jonny Fly took advantage and won the matchup. I … I hated the fact that he won ownership of the company especially since I had promised to leave the company one week after the pay per view provided that he won, regardless if I emerged World Champion or not.
Barbara Walters: Now back to your World Title match, let’s get right to the ending. Many people cite this piece of footage as evidence that you screwed Jeff Purse out of the title.
*Footage starts playing on the TV showing the final three count in slow motion as Sarah counts the 1 … 2 … and then looks up at Eric and clearly in slow motion, a wink can be seen from her to Eric as she goes for the 3*
Eric Price: Yes, I know a lot of people like to point at that footage and use it as evidence that we screwed Jeff Purse out of the World Title but if you watch what led to the count, the fact is I had knocked Jeff out, he was done. She could have counted to 100 and I still would have won. The wink wasn’t that it was some type of fast count or something because if you watch the match, Jeff Purse didn’t lift his shoulder, he didn’t put his foot on the rope or anything, he just continued laying there and the count proceeded, there was no funny business.
Barbara Walters: What was that wink then?
Eric Price: To be honest with you Barbara, at the time I didn’t know what it meant. I later found out what it meant however from Sarah herself.
Barbara Walters: And what did she tell you it meant?
Eric Price: Amazingly enough, she told me it was her way of reminding me of our business arrangement. Basically, it was her way of telling me to enjoy my 15 minutes of fame as the World Champion because very shortly, she would be taking that title from me and assuming her rightful place as the alpha whereas I would be the beta to her alpha position.
Barbara Walters: Beta, alpha, she loves her mythological references doesn’t she?
Eric Price: Yeah, she always did speak in riddles when she wasn’t too busy cursing every third word about the sheep and the wolf and being the alpha this and the alpha that and blah blah blah, I honestly stopped listening so long ago to her incessant rhetoric because it all sounded exactly the same to me.
Barbara Walters: So the One pay-per-view, the biggest pay-per-view event of the year had come and gone. In your first year in WCF, you main evented that big pay-per-view and emerged victorious from it as the World Champion, your first World Title reign.
Eric Price: It was truly a proud moment and a defining moment in my career as I was told early on that I’d never amount to anything in WCF. When I finally did amount to something and not only something but I became the top guy, I knew I had shut up the naysayers … or at least I thought so at the time. What I didn’t realize at that time is that despite making it to the top, I was still considered a fluke and a joke, which was interesting in and of itself considering the fact that prior to facing me, the only title defense Jeff Purse had as World Champion was against Adam Young and he barely managed to beat him … a sad state of affairs for a World Champion because honestly … barely being able to beat Adam Young … that would be like Steve Martin or Chris Rock today showing up to Amateur Night and stinking up the place … it just wouldn’t make sense.
Barbara Walters: Did you feel you had paid your dues to the business by that point?
Eric Price: Honestly speaking, I did. I had worked very hard to get where I was, I had nothing handed to me, I had nothing promised to me, I simply earned my matches, I earned my title shots and I made the most of what I had. But I learned far too quickly that success breeds hatred.
Barbara Walters: Now, before we wrap up the first part of this interview, I’d like to do some name association. With the War pay-per-view coming up again and I know based on what you’ve told me, this year the World Title is on the line and every active competitor as well as a few returning and surprise competitors are coming into WCF to compete here so name association would be fun. I’ll say a name and you say the first thing that pops into your head about this person and if you want to elaborate on them a bit, you can.
Eric Price: Excellent.
Barbara Walters: Let’s start. Nathan von Liebert.
Eric Price: The current World Champion … I have more to say about him and will do so in a later part of this interview but for now, I’ll say … a hardcore competitor but really bad about his hygiene and more of a fluke artist than anything.
Barbara Walters: Jonny Fly.
Eric Price: What haven’t I said about Jonny Fly already … I both respect and hate him at the same time … love/hate relationship I suppose. He’s a great competitor but far too arrogant for his own good and definitely had a bad eye for talent.
Barbara Walters: Sarah Twilight.
Eric Price: I have a lot more to say about her and will do so later on in the interview. To summarize my thoughts on her, heartless, arrogant, bitch! Has the biggest superiority complex I’ve ever seen and is far too arrogant for her own good. Masks her own immaturity and arrogance by pretending to be strong willed and invincible. Again, there’s more but I’ll save it.
Barbara Walters: Fair enough. Bobby Cairo.
Eric Price: Hmm … I respect Bobby Cairo. He’s a legend not only in WCF but in this business. He’s nearly done it all and held every title there is to hold in WCF nearly but he’s never won a War match. Despite the fact that I respect him and that in the ring, he still seems to have good abilities, fact is he’d older and slower now … his time has passed and his return will be short lived. I have some more to say on him but the fact is Cairo needs to grow up and stop acting like some pimple faced teenager and act more his age.
Barbara Walters: Logan.
Eric Price: Useless, washed up, piece of trash … and those are his good qualities. Seriously, Logan is probably the most worthless and overrated piece of trash I’ve ever seen. I’ve spoken to Seth about him on several occasions and he’s told me that the Logan of old is not the Logan I see now and that if we were to see that Logan from back then, then maybe I’d understand what is so great about him but as he stands now … he can’t even beat Sarah Twilight, a feat I’ve accomplished before so as far as I’m concerned, he’s just filler.
Barbara Walters: Gravedigger.
Eric Price: WCF legend and hall of famer Gravedigger. I have the utmost respect for this man and honestly, he’s stood by me for a while and he supported me when many others did not. He was one of the first people to embrace my World Title run and my success and I’ve always appreciated that from him and even now, we’re still friends. However … this is War and as much as I respect him … I will also not hesitate to beat him in that ring because with the World Title on the line … well, it’s just business and I will do what needs to be done.
Barbara Walters: Frank Patrick Venable.
Eric Price: Frank Patrick Venable, FPV … he’s an interesting character and yes, I called him a character. I do so because no one is more animated in my opinion than him. I swear he sounds almost like a comic book character come to life … admittedly I respect him for what he’s done in this business … he and I obviously have radically different views of life and how this business works and we’ve mixed it up in the ring before but when it comes down to it, he’s another competitor in my path toward the World Title and I will dispatch him if I need to do so.
Barbara Walters: Waylon Cash.
Eric Price: The tag team legend and fluke singles champion defined. I personally call him Mr. Two Weeks as a pet name but honestly … I despise this man. Waylon Cash is a great example of too much too fast … fact is the man had no idea how to deal with his own success and he’s so engrossed in puckering up to Scott Savage that he’ll never really amount to anything on his own. He’s always been a follower, not a leader and on Sunday, it’ll be no different, he will follow the losers to the showers while the leaders like myself will remain in the ring fighting it out for the World Title.
Barbara Walters: John Gable.
Eric Price: John Gable … a man who just very recently believed he was a turkey for most of the summer … and I’m supposed to take him seriously? He’s delusional and he’s also up the ass of Scott Savage too … maybe even as stuffing. Much like Waylon Cash, another tag teamer but not really a singles competitor. At one time, I had high hopes for him but now … I just don’t see it anymore.
Barbara Walters: Benjamin Atreyu.
Eric Price: Hipster defined. I swear to God … every time I hear this man talk, I think I’m listening to a hipster because he likes to sound so alliterative, so deep, so inspirational but in the end, he comes off as a pretentious wannabee success who is also way too busy kissing up to Scott Savage. Another proverbial tag teamer who at one time I thought had potential but now … meh.
Barbara Walters: Odin Balfore.
*Eric laughs at this name*
Eric Price: Oh God, Odin Balfore, or should I call him War Balfore or maybe Thickness Balfore … I don’t even know, how about the Mexican Balfore! Oy vey … let me tell you something, if you ever want a great example of someone who needs to call it quits, Odin Balfore is your man. Honestly … he won Ultimate Showdown two years ago and netted himself the World Title and he hasn’t shut up about it since. He still references his time at the top back in 2011 … since losing the World Title on January 1st, 2012, he has fallen straight to the bottom and he has not since risen. He was given a shot at the World Title earlier this year and he couldn’t get the job done, War will be no different for him. His time has long since passed and it’s high time he realized it.
Barbara Walters: Oblivion.
Eric Price: The monster … IT! He can try and intimidate people as if it’s Halloween but he will not intimidate me. I will admit he did himself a favor by ridding himself of the Angels of Death but I will dispatch him as I see fit during the War match because I am not holding back!
Barbara Walters: Night Rider.
Eric Price: Hahahaha … Night Rider … proverbial curtain jerker and tag teamer … honestly not a threat at all in the War match. He’s tried coming back as darker and edgier … trope by the way … and that hasn’t worked out all too well for him and he just dissolved his own group not even 24 hours ago … as I said, no threat.
Barbara Walters: John Barber.
Eric Price: John Barber and I had a scrape a little bit ago but I respect this up and coming talent. He definitely has all the tools and the skills to become a major player in this industry and this company but his time is not at War. As good as he is … he is still way too green to win this match; I hope he uses it as a learning experience to prepare himself for next year’s War match … he might have a chance then but this year, not a shot.
Barbara Walters: Jonathan Jakobs.
Eric Price: Another proverbial follower and not a leader, another tag teamer. I have plenty more to say to say about him in a later part of our interview so I’ll save most of it for then but for now, I’ll say that he is nothing but a whiny, clingy, needy, crybaby who always is looking to be led by someone else because he cannot lead himself to success, he needs someone to carry his pathetic ass.
Barbara Walters: Steeltoe Joe.
Eric Price: As long as he is under the watchful eye of Sarah Twilight … he’s doomed. I have more to say about him as well later in our interview but suffice to say for now … he is a follower and until he realizes this, there will be no real triumphs or success for him.
Barbara Walters: Mr. Jack Happy.
Eric Price: Happy Meal? I don’t know what this guy’s deal is and I don’t pretend to understand. He just came back and got decimated by Lilith … yeah, he’s got no chance of winning War.
Barbara Walters: Speaking of … Lilith.
Eric Price: Oh God …
*Eric shakes his head and facepalms*
Eric Price: Lilith or should I call it Sunnie Rainbows or the Ice Cream Champion or the Teddy Bear Tea Party? Or perhaps the Como chasm of insanity? I don’t even know where to begin with this character and yes, this is another one I refer to as a character because she is something else … I can’t even begin to describe her. One second she’s dark and violent, next second she’s all happy and cheerful, it’s almost as if she’s bi-polar or something. I don’t know and frankly I don’t care … her chances of winning War are non-existent.
Barbara Walters: Jordan Caliban.
Eric Price: The man who beat me for the Internet Title a few weeks ago. A lot of people assume I’m pissed over the fact that he did that but the fact is I’m not. I say congratulations to him … my problem with him is the fact that he’s an obnoxious jackass. All he does is talk out of his ass constantly and in his tweets as Internet Champion, he has got to have the worst syntax and grammar I’ve ever seen because I honestly cannot understand half of what he says. He bitches and moans and complains constantly over his tweets to boot and demands everyone pay attention to what he says because he thinks the veterans and the leadership are all wrong and he wants some real and fair leadership he claims. Nothing but bologna from this guy because no matter who’s in charge, he’s going to whine because he’s just one of those guys who always will rebel against the establishment until he gets his way. Newsflash Jordan Caliban, shut the fuck up, no one cares what you have to say. And FYI … because I’m being a straight shooter in this interview, you may as well know … yeah you beat me once in an Internet Title match … big fucking deal, my one charitable contribution of the year. Oh and just so you’re aware, you still haven’t drawn a dime.
Barbara Walters: Adam Young.
Eric Price: Waste of space, next.
Barbara Walters: Jon Michaels.
Eric Price: You mean the King of Wrestling? Where do I begin with this guy, overinflated ego, thinks he actually is relevant, thinks what he’s done in other companies matters. I got news for ya kid, this is WCF and you’re in the big leagues now boy … mind you, I love embracing new talent but you need to cool your jets and earn your spot around here. Your chance of winning War … I think you have a better chance of winning the lottery.
Barbara Walters: Matthew Robinson.
Eric Price: I will definitely elaborate more on him later in our interview but he is a great piece of new talent acquired during my tenure as owner. When I signed him, I knew I was signing in a great competitor and athlete. He’s definitely the total package but at War, it’s all business and I will not hesitate to pin you and beat you if I see the chance. I would expect no less from you to me but in my honest opinion, I think you’re still too green to win the match but at the same time, I expect a stellar performance from you and wish you the best of luck!
Barbara Walters: Lionheart.
Eric Price: Human garbage. I cannot define him any other way because after what he attempted to do to Stacy Robinson, he is nothing but pure garbage and I can’t wait to see him in the ring at War because much like last night, I’m going to beat the living hell out of him simply because a disgusting and repulsive human being like him who is capable of such heinous actions like beating up a pregnant woman … that is just low. I’m no saint and I certainly don’t pretend to have a halo around my head but even I would never stoop so low as to do something so vile and reprehensible. If there is such a thing as a hell … looks like they’ve just found a new inmate.
Barbara Walters: Denise D’Evil.
Eric Price: An interesting competitor. I faced her once and she is a good competitor but she’s never really amounted to much of anything and is middle of the road. Shouldn’t be much of a threat for the War match.
Barbara Walters: Deuce Maximus.
Eric Price: Is this like a pun of Deuce Bigalow or something? I don’t understand his deal although I must admit I enjoy his comedic stylings from time to time … sure he’s not the best but he is entertaining. War however is not about entertainment, War is about competing and wrestling for the World Title and I actually kinda like you but that won’t stop me from beating you during War.
Barbara Walters: Tek.
Eric Price: You mean Mr. Quarterly Redux? Good lord … maybe Tek will come out and surprise us and instead of being Coldblooded, he’ll be hot blooded with a fever of 103 and he’ll dance for us again or something.
*Eric smiles as he hums the tune of “Hot Blooded” for a moment*
Barbara Walters: Doc Henry.
Eric Price: Overrated waste of space. Think Adam Young only with a bit more class.
Barbara Walters: Havok.
Eric Price: A crazy motherfucker. Seriously, this guy is loopy and then some. Lilith is a fruit loop and this guy is just batshit insane. No chance of winning War, no chance.
Barbara Walters: Cormack MacNeill.
Eric Price: He’s another new talent that was signed toward the end of my tenure as owner. I like what I’ve seen from him thus far and hope he puts out a stellar performance at War. I doubt he would win the event but he should be able to provide an interesting showing.
Barbara Walters: Eli The Kid.
Eric Price: Also part of that new wave of talent … another interesting competitor. I thought he really had Caliban beat and was hoping he’d take the Internet Title off of him but he’s going to make it in this business soon enough. Won’t win War but should have a good showing.
Barbara Walters: Seifer Black Armstrong.
Eric Price: I can’t say enough good things about Matthew Robinson and the same goes for his associate Seifer Black Armstrong, Justice as the duo is known. I have the utmost respect for Seifer and he’s another one who was signed near the end of my tenure as part of that whole wave of new talent. Great potential, great competitor, again, don’t think he’ll win War but I do certainly believe he will have a great showing.
Barbara Walters: Johnny Towers.
Eric Price: Truly a wildcard here as he’s a brand new talent debuting at War. He could be eliminated from the get go, he could make it to the end and win the whole damn thing … a total unknown, would be interesting to witness. Either way, I will be ready for him.
Barbara Walters: Ryan Rhodes.
Eric Price: He was the last person I signed under my tenure as owner. He has not debuted and will be doing so at War … I expect him to make a good showing as he really showed promise before I signed him and I think he could also easily take away Caliban’s Internet Title when he’s good and ready.
Barbara Walters: Jason Xavier.
Eric Price: Wildcard, new, unpredictable. Much like Johnny Towers, we’ll have to wait and see what he brings to the table.
Barbara Walters: Jayden Thunder.
Eric Price: Same, another wildcard but that’s what I love about War, it’s so unpredictable!
Barbara Walters: Biohazard.
*Eric chuckles a bit*
Eric Price: Oh Resident Evil and his #OozeToFaces deal. Honestly, I love Biohazard, I really do and part of me would love to see him win the title if only to see what he would do with it but in reality, he’s not winning anything. He’ll be eliminated so quickly, we won’t even be able to see his ooze come out.
Barbara Walters: Tyler Walker.
Eric Price: A pumped up roided freak in my opinion. Full of unwarranted self importance and unearned arrogance, he has zero chance of winning War if only because he still doesn’t get the fact that no one likes him.
Barbara Walters: The Masked Man.
Eric Price: Oh The Masked Man, he and I have quite a bit of history together. It’s well documented that we’ve gone back and forth and beaten each other up. You know, I haven’t told anyone but I know exactly who the Masked Man is and let me just tell you that he is someone no one expects but I will see to it that I will beat him. I respect this man but at the same time, it’s business and in business, I have to do what is necessary to succeed. And with the World Title on the line, I will not hesitate to do what is needed to win!
Barbara Walters: Steve Orbit.
Eric Price: I … I honestly respect Steve Orbit, I always have. He and I may lead very different lifestyles but we’re in essence similar, we’re all about business and we’re all about getting the job done. Our approaches differ but our results are similar. Admittedly he was right about Sarah Twilight all along and I just was too blind to see it … no … no … no I think I knew … I knew and I just didn’t want to believe it. Regardless, I do respect Steve Orbit as a competitor and even as an entrepreneur because despite the seedy industry in which he enterprises, he is still a hell of a consummate businessman! Now mind you, I respect you Steve Orbit but that doesn’t mean I will hesitate in pinning you in the middle of that ring, it is for the World Title after all and I would expect no less from you. May the best man win.
Barbara Walters: Roy Speede.
Eric Price: Oh good God … he’s actually coming back? I can’t say I cared much for him before and I don’t care for him now. Just like his entire career, at War the Silver Lining will choke but hey … he’ll always have that Silver Lining that’ll make him feel all better.
*Eric smiles and laughs a bit at that last comment*
Barbara Walters: And finally … Jay Price.
*Eric just shakes his head disapprovingly*
Eric Price: Oh good God … this guy. Honestly, other Price and yes, I and many others call him “other Price” because he’s been relegated to second banana status due to his worthlessness. I cannot stress enough how pathetic other Price is because he threatens to retire so often now, it’s become like a negotiation tactic for him and frankly it’s growing old. Every time he doesn’t get what he feels he deserves, he threatens to retire again. It’s like he throws a tantrum or something except that now … no one is putting up with it anymore and no one cares. It’s funny … when I started in WCF, I was the “other Price” and in just 18 short months, I marginalized him from the future of this company into nothing but the “other Price” that no one gives a damn about. He’s a stable hopper with no real convictions of his own as he quickly sold out to join Pantheon and then to join Cryogenix not to mention how earlier he had joined This_Is_War, once again selling out. I guess if I could summarize Jay Price’s career, it would be as a cripple crybaby fluke sellout. That’s all he is and as far as him winning War, not a shot. I think he has a better chance of selling out again … I hear Sarah Twilight likes guys who pucker up, maybe he can sell out to Bravado now and whore himself out … it wouldn’t be anything new for him.
Barbara Walters: Sharp, stinging words I must admit.
Eric Price: I just tell it like it is sometimes. I’m no saint and I don’t pretend to be but I also won’t just be nice and sugarcoat the truth, I’ll just let it out. I figure it’s better that way because I’ve always believed that it’s better to be hated for what you are than loved for something you’re not. In the end, you have to be true to yourself because if you constantly sell out, then you dilute yourself and people will in the end not respect you anymore because you basically become a two-cent whore for the right price, no pun intended.
Barbara Walters: Interesting take on things. Well folks, thank you for tuning in to part one of my interview with Eric Price. Please tune in tomorrow night, same time, same station as we continue this interview with part two and we move on to discuss Eric Price’s World Title reign, the unknown friction between himself and Sarah Twilight, and the events that led to the purchase of WCF and the formation of EPPW. That’s tomorrow night, for now, I’m Barbara Walters signing off. Good night.
*The camera crew cuts filming at this point as Eric quickly gets up and shakes Barbara’s hand and she reciprocates the gesture*
Eric Price: I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you doing this set of interviews with me … it honestly has allowed me to get some stuff off my chest and also give the world a glimpse into some events that may have before been unexplained.
Barbara Walters: My pleasure Mr. Price. We will continue this interview tomorrow night.
Eric Price: Oh absolutely, feel free to show yourself out when you’re ready.
Barbara Walters: Will do.
Scene IX: The Enemy Speaks – 7:00 PM – Eric Price’s House (Back Porch) in Pacific Palisades, CA
*Eric at this point walks outside to his porch and stares out at the beautiful sunset across the ocean with a smile on his face. He takes in the ocean breeze as a sort of cleansing ritual as he feels that he got a lot out during that interview. Many hidden facts, many hidden truths and there’s more to come for him to reveal. As he stands there, his cell phone rings. He picks it up.*
Eric Price (on cell phone): Hello. (pause) Excuse me?
*Eric turns on his speaker phone*
Female Voice (on cell phone): What the fuck do you think you’re doing asshole?
Eric Price (on cell phone): I’m sorry, can I help you?
Female Voice (on cell phone): I heard about your little interview you’re doing … you’d better keep your mouth shut if you know what’s best for you.
*Eric smirks as he realizes it’s Sarah Twilight calling him*
Eric Price (on cell phone): You really are a bitch aren’t you? When are you going to get it through that thick skull of yours that you aren’t going to intimidate me anymore?
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): You’re a bitch, you’re a weakling Eric and you know it. You can talk big but you can’t back it up.
Eric Price (on cell phone): Sarah … you may have blinded me before but I see the truth now and the fact is I’m not scared of you, not anymore. I took your crap long enough and I got sick of it.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): The only reason you’re still alive is because I’ve allowed you to live.
Eric Price (on cell phone): Oh blah blah blah … again with your nonsensical rhetoric. You’ve allowed me to do this, you’ve allowed me to do that … you are so deluded in your superiority complex, it’s almost pathetic.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): Listen fucker…
Eric Price (on cell phone): NO! SHUT YOUR MOUTH! FOR ONCE, YOU SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO ME! You are nothing but a manipulative bitch that needs to shut the fuck up and go square to hell! You stabbed me in the back and got my supposed friends to turn against me but unlike you … I have real friends, not kiss asses who live through intimidation. Unlike you, I have real associates who actually support me because they like me, not because they fear me.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): That’s because you can’t inspire fear in anyone Eric, you’re pathetic and weak. You’re probably pissing your pants right now.
*Eric chuckles sarcastically*
Eric Price (on cell phone): You think you’re funny don’t you? It honestly amazes me that you still use that line. But the fact is ruling by fear is meaningless Sarah … the only reason you do it is because you’re scared that if people had to deal with the real you, no one would choose to side with you willingly.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): Pitiful talk from someone who now panders to the sheep.
Eric Price (on cell phone): Oh shut up! Come off your high horse for once, I’m not pandering to anyone, I’m simply telling it like it is and I’m tired of standing up for your bullshit. I tolerated it for a long long time despite being told that there was no value in my doing so but I took it anyway. But I got fed up and had enough. You betrayed me and I admit it, I didn’t see it coming but now you think I’m going to continue taking your crap? You’re insane.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): Face facts Eric, you can’t beat me and you know it.
Eric Price (on cell phone): Oh yeah Sarah, is that a fact? You know … what really sickens me about you is the fact that you actually believe the crap that spews out of your mouth, it really amazes me. Honestly, you still believe in your mind that you and you alone were responsible for my success. That’s an interesting concept Sarah.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): I AM! WITHOUT ME, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTHING! Just like now, without me, you are nothing!
Eric Price (on cell phone): Interesting. Let’s see, I main evented One and you … stood on the sidelines. I was World Champion for 113 days, you were World Champion for 90 days … oh yeah, you really made my success. Not only that but I was the one who bought the company, not you. I was Television Champion of the year last year, I headlined eight pay per views in a row … a record only matched by Jonny Fly. You … you however have not attained the level of success that I have and for you to not only claim but actually believe that you were responsible for my success … that’s just deluded.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): Big talk from a weakling … face it Eric, I’m better than you.
Eric Price (on cell phone): The only thing you’re better than me at is at being a liar and a manipulator. Unlike you, I actually tell things like they are and I won’t stoop to the low level of faking through a wedding just to stab someone in the back, that’s not who I am. Unlike you, I actually embraced owning the company and did everything I could to improve it and bring in new talent … you however, you’re nothing but an egocentric bitch who is really trying to make it all about herself and doesn’t give a damn about anyone.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): It’s not my fault that all these fucking pathetic worthless vermin are on my roster and are simply inferior to me. It’s not my fault that no one is on my level.
Eric Price (on cell phone): Your level? Haha … that’s funny Sarah that you think yourself such an elite competitor. Yes, you win a lot of matches there is no doubt about that but in the end, you can only win the big matches when you have an underhanded advantage but on your own … you cannot win.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): Are you trying to convince yourself that you can beat me?
Eric Price (on cell phone): Oh Sarah, I don’t need to convince myself of anything. Fact is, I know I can beat you already. You see, I’ve been in the War match before and I came very close to winning it last year. This year … I plan to win it and if that means I have to beat you to do it, then I can’t wait because Sarah … just think how serendipitous it would be for the bitch who fired me to see the man she stabbed in the back and disposed of as weak trash to come back, beat her, and become the World Champion while leaving her relegated to being one half of the tag team champions. Now that … THAT Sarah is a wonderful thought.
Sarah Twilight (on cell phone): Motherfucker, you can’t beat me! I am better than you! DO YOU HEAR ME? I…
*Eric hangs up the phone as he is tired of listening to Sarah speak*
Eric Price: Geez … what a bitch. Oh well, Sunday … she dies.
*Eric smiles as he looks out toward the ocean thinking about the upcoming War ahead as the scene fades to black*
