Ok, so we've got a huge roster now. 40 plus. 44 to be exact although 4 of them are my characters and we really only use one of them, but as Seth pointed out the other day, there's not that many people with multiple characters. So we've likely got at least 3 dozen people in the fed now.
This is some advice from someone whose been here for a few years. If any other veterans or Seth himself wants to correct any of the information I'm about to give out, or add to it, then do so.
We've had decent sized rosters before. People come and go here in WCF. I've seen a lot of people who were in WCF for several weeks or months who just suddenly vanished and honestly they were going nowhere in WCF and had no real direction.
In WCF, you are responsible for your standing in the company. Just like in pro wrestling, the wrestlers who are more involved in their character and are in the ear of the boss, get further in WCF.
I don't necessarily mean you get further as in you get a slew of World title shots. What I mean is this:
The people who just show up each week and cut promos on the roleplay board each week against their opponents but other than that do nothing, go nowhere. Yeah if you win most of your matches, Seth will give you a title shot at certain titles and maybe you'll win the belt. But for the most part, if you're not involved in your character and you're not talking to Seth, you're just going to float from match to match, week to week, occasionally getting title shots.
You need to be involved. You need to let Seth know what title you want to go after. New guys are not typically going to get world title shots. 9 times out of 10 it does not happen and I know there are plenty of people who come into WCF thinking they will. Those people are either ignorant or think because they did well elsewhere, they can dominate here.
I'm talking about the people who want to bypass all the other titles and just go straight for the world title. Who does that in real wrestling? Usually it was just legends from other companies, but in e-wrestling, no one knows who you are when you come into WCF (unless you were in feds with other people, for the most part Seth doesn't know you).
I know some people hate doing angles/storylines but the one big thing that will get you great matches, advance you in WCF and get you those title shots you want is to do this one thing: generate interest in your character. Not only for WCF as a whole but for Seth as well.
Angles/storylines, feuds, promos/skits on the weekly shows and PPVs. Because honestly no one gives a damn if you win nearly every match you're in. If you come into WCF undefeated for a while, no one is going to care. Many people over the years (10+ years WCF has been open) have done that, so no one cares, it's been done.
I'm sure others can come up with more advice as well or add on to what I've said.
That's the two things you need to work on in WCF to do great here: be involved with your character and generate interest in him/her.

I back this post 100%.
Or, talk to someone like myself, GD, one of the guys that has been around a while. A few years ago, I like to think it was Torture and I who built Jay Price to a main eventer. Tort did the same thing with D-Day. I'm not exactly active anymore, but I'll be more than willing to work a little storyline out with a newer member I see hope in. Odin Balfore, for instance, is more or less a creation of mine. Dude was wrecking people but that's almost all he did until he and I did some segments, now you could see him in the main event every show because he has the story behind it.
I've never been the best WCF has seen, but my character is so established that I could be tossed in a main event title match without even blinking because it could logistically happen in real wrestling. Same goes for GD or Logan. Sure, time helps, but you only really need one big event that will set you apart from the rest. From then, it's easy to keep up, because other people will be more willing to work with you.
It's not always about skill here, you need to be built. Jonny Fly got by on skill for a bit, but then he stepped it the fuck up with the Twitter and Other News forums. That's how he got really noticed.
Of course, I'm sure this isn't really news to anyone because nobody's actually new. Everybody knows how the game works, just in WCF, it's leans a bit more storyline driven/effort in other places than RPing, ya know?

Jay Price...main eventer? Where the hell was I? You were in the TEN main event right? Also, during the whole Team of Torture storyline you were just as visible if not more visible than Torture and he was the world champion then. Just because you haven't won a ton of world titles doesn't mean you're not a main eventer. I would definitely agree with CD on you being a main eventer.

Lol, that was really meant to be more of a joke. You know, going off the whole "The World Title is my kryptonite" line Doc came up with a while back.

I back this up, and it wasn't even meant for you newcomers. I've been here a couple months, and reading it makes me want to get up a storyline. Which I've currently started up a little personal one. No Spoilers but here is a little beginning: Nathan von Liebert got crazier. . . Who would've thought that could happen? But yeah, get some storylines going. I'm currently free for any of you faces or tweeners who need a storyline. Don't work very much with other heels because I personally feel it is rather difficult to be more evil than NvL. And if I feel you are, I'll just out do you So yeah, I'm all for this.

I know my record means nothing here. I added that fact for how DE would react to certain situations. I know I'm at the bottom. I have no delusions otherwise.

I feel like we've gotten quite a few more people since I last posted this, so I'm going to bump this thread again. Welcome to all the new people.

I don't know if it's always been the case, but in recent years it seems like around the summertime the roster explodes. With that said, looking at how we've already grown, can you imagine if we experience another surge in a few months...
¡Ay caramba!

If it does explode, it will all even out. We've already watched people go out since this last influx that I came in with. But yeah, if we get a roster to like 60 or more......uh, wow. LOL

Honestly, and while I do agree with the sentiments of Gravedigger, I may be the exception when it comes to rising through the ranks because you are involved. Personally, I like to think that people were interested in my character because of the RPs that I put out and what was included in them rather than going to Seth or management and looking for storylines. I got extremely lucky that I got involved in feuds with Mikami, Doc Henry and later Torture to advance into the upper echelon here in the WCF. However, I always thought it was quite the treat to see what others thought the storyline should be for my character instead of simply coming up with one myself. Perhaps Seth and others would have appreciated it more if I would have come up with my one angles, but then again I think the exchange between Torture and myself and also the Chad Evans angle worked to perfection and were some of the most memorable in my "active" time here in the WCF. Just my two cents and a different view so that people dont simply think they have to go to Seth or management to just get their title shots. Personally, I would like to think that I earned it through being entertaining and through good RPing rather than just throwing out potential angles right and left to management. With that being said, I'm glad I have been around to see this roster expand and hope it continues to grow not only in numbers, but also with the quality of RPing.
Perhaps a "minor league" system would be in order if the roster gets too big. Results would be more summaries that full-blown results, that way guys that are "openers" or "mid low-carders" get a chance to hone their skills from week to week against each other rather than having to face what might be superior competition each week.

Dark matches, essentially. With short summaries.
It's a perfect idea if it comes to that point.

Well in all honesty this new in purt of talent is a group of my friends from another fed...I havent even gotten my first rp up but I am very impressed with this place, and don't worry one thing that me and every single one of these new guys that has come from the same fed as I have have no problem what so ever with working angles, storylines...Like I explained in an eariler post we have all been rping together for the last three years so all of us are more than experienced...I myself have been playing this game for damn near 15 years now...And well I have a few ideas for a storyline to run with all of us coming in, if there are any of you willing to work with us I have a great idea...I understand that many of you are going to want to see us rp before we get into all of that, so fear not I began my rp last night and my first one will hopefully be up shortly! So Seth be expecting a PM from me here soon because I have a great idea on how to bring all of us in...So thank you all for the advice and don't worry Myself, Al Envy, Hunter Valentyne, and Apathy are all experienced rpers who are more than willing to contribute to making this place as fun as possible...So I'll quit babbeling and get to my rp!

There was some mentioning about aminor league idea, awhile back. What if, when we get too many people. We send down the new people down to let's say like a FCW(developmental place for WWE) have them hone their skills then bring them up. While their down their they can have their storylines and feuds too, then eventually they can get called up.

I loved the shit out of that idea only to never see it happen. Come on man! We had Slickie T ready to be the commish!

I have no problem working from the bottom up. I expect nothing. I'm just here to entertain. That's my main goal, that's why I do this. It's not about main event pushes or titles, its about writing my scripts to entertain folks and to work with my boys and work with other folks. I'm all about the creativity and the community. You get no problems from myself. <3
