The scene opens in a well lit room with two chairs set up and a camera crew bustling about. Lights are being set up and focused on the two chairs, cameras aim at the seats from all directions and a WCF backdrop has been placed behind the chairs. World Championship Federation employee and infamous interviewer Hank Brown emerges from a door labeled with the international sign for men’s restroom. He zips is fly and makes his way over to one of the chairs and sits down making himself comfortable. One of the crew makes his way over to Brown and adorns him with a lapel microphone and quickly adjusts his tie. The squad continues to run cable across the room, making sure to hide it from view of each of the cameras that are set up. Brown remains slumped in the full leather sitting chair looking over his notes as the guest of honor, Allen Guiliano, makes is way into the room of what now can clearly be identified as a hotel room. The owner of the Camille confidently enters the room and makes his way over to Hank, placing his hand firmly on the interviewer’s right shoulder and pretends to glance at the clipboard that contains his notes. Brown quickly glances up and pulls the clipboard down to his side with a smirk.
Brown: Hey, you know you can’t see those before the interview. We don’t stage questions around here like they do in all those other federations.
Guiliano: Not trying to see your questions, Hank, just making sure you and the guys are comfortable and if you enjoyed the lunch that was provided to you fine gentlemen earlier this afternoon by the best culinary staff in the business, the ones right here at the Camille. Now, quit being paranoid and let me know when you guys will be ready to go on.
Actually, I think we are ready whenever you want to go on. These guys just have to get a mic on you and make sure the guys back in the truck are ready and we will be cleared to go. The questions on this paper aren’t important anyway, and I’m sure that you already know what 75% of them will be about anyway. C’mon Allen, we both know that you are good with interviews and the media, you answer questions right and left about this gold mine you are running out here.
A familiar grin comes over Guiliano’s face as he takes in what Hank has just stated. He then nods his head slowly and responds.
I do answer an awful lot of questions for magazines and other publications about this “gold mine”, but they tend to be about the business side of the hotel and casino industry, not the personal side of the wrestling business. You guys have an uncanny ability to dig up something personal and run with it no matter if it means anything to the federation or not. I have a pretty good idea of what you are going to be asking me about, but there is always that one question you seem to sneak in there to keep me on my toes, and to be honest, I have no idea what it could be about. It has been quite awhile since we’ve sat down for one of these and a lot has gone on both in and out of the ring since then so it could be about anything.
You’re right, it has been quite a long time and I have been making notes of quite a few things since our last interview. I don’t know if there are any questions this week that you shouldn’t be ready for though. Hell, you are one of the up and coming superstars, what could I possibly ask you that wouldn’t be about you bragging on yourself?
Exactly, everything has been positive and that’s what worries me. Those are the times when you pull something out of nowhere and blindside me with a question that I couldn’t even fathom you knowing the first thing about. You guys sit tight, I have to take a piss and I will be ready to get started.
Guiliano disappears back into the hallway despite there being a bathroom in the suite where the interview has already been set up. Hank shrugs as he sees this and looks around to the crew to see if they might know what is going on. They give the same gesture back to Brown and he goes back to looking over the notes, flipping through the pages, waiting for Guiliano. The crew finishes setting up and rests Allen’s lapel mic over his chair and finish off the food tray that was brought in for them before they arrived.
After a few moments, Guiliano reenters the room and quickly takes his place in the chair, extending a hand to Hank. Brown raises a brow and acknowledges the gesture as the two share a quick handshake. A crew member steps over behind Allen and attaches is lapel mic before swiftly exiting the camera’s field of view. The man behind the main camera raises a hand, counts down from five, and then points to Hank, signaling the start of the interview.
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the WCF and this exclusive interview with one of the federation’s most successful superstars as of late, please welcome, Allen Guiliano, better known around the wrestling world as Slickie T.
Thank you, Hank. It’s my pleasure to be here and I don’t know if you should dub me as one of the most successful superstars in this federation, but a lot has happened since the last time I sat down with you.
Slick, you are just being modest. Anyone that has made the run to the top like you have here in the WCF deserves every accolade and title that a man throws at him. The most important title that you have in front of your name right now may be that you are the last entrant in the main event at War VIII. Tell the fans out there what that means to you.
I think it goes without saying that it means more than anything to me right now at this point in my career. War is the most recognized event here in the WCF and to win that event would be a huge accomplishment for me or for any other wrestler in this federation. People forever remember your name when you win an event such as War, especially this year since it will take place at the sports Mecca that is Madison Square Garden in New York City.
I’m sure that most of the viewers out there remember how you earned the honor of entering the main event as the last participant, but for those who don’t, what was it like taking on your friend and former WCF World Champion, Dake Ken? And more importantly, what it did it feel like to have your hand raised after that memorable match that left both of you battered and bruised?
It was a match that has defined my career and it was a rush knowing that I had gotten a victory over one of the best here in the World Championship Federation. Dake and I have the upmost respect for one another and to go up against him on such a large stage as Revenge just made it that much more of a thrill. We both had joked before the match that no matter who won, we had to do the honor of ending it with a finisher. He was convinced he was going to hit his Uranage Slam and I told him that the T-Bone was the last maneuver that would be used in the match. Fortunately for me, I was right and I had the strength to cover him after such a brutal match. As the fans here in the WCF saw, covering him took about all the energy that I had left as I couldn’t even manage to stand to have my hand raised.
In that match I think we also saw something that fans in other federations knew you had in your repertoire, but the fans here in the WCF hadn’t seen before and that was your superior abilities to take over a match outside the ring. You have been dubbed the “Ace of Hardcore” by your fellow wrestlers in other federations and now that name is starting to make its way over here to the World Championship Federation. Did you plan to take the match outside the ring against Dake or was it something you felt you needed to do after he had gained control by working your leg and knee inside the ring?
To be honest with you, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it to the ropes after that last Maple Leaf, but I heard the fan support and knew that I couldn’t let that match end with a submission. I hadn’t tapped out in any match before that one and I sure wasn’t going to in that one, it just wouldn’t have done it justice. To answer your question, I took it outside the ring because I figured that was the only way I could possibly get back into the match. Dake is a bigger man than myself and it could’ve proven to be very costly, but I put it all on the line, did a few moves off the top rope and got myself back into the match. Dake really did a number on my knee and it was still bothering me for last week’s match, but as you saw it didn’t end up affecting the outcome.
That is something else I think these fans want to know about. What happened last week with D-Day and Hector Rodriguez? I think everyone expected you and Dake to waltz into that match and show the rookie Rodriguez what it was going to be like here in the WCF. Maybe you know something I don’t, but it looked like Dake was off his game and came out a little flat and Hector took advantage. I was stunned when I saw Hector and D-Day’s hands raised after that match.
I don’t believe I know anything more than you do, Hank. Not sure if Dake was feeling the effect of the match from the week before or what, but he was definitely not himself for that match on Monday night. I was honored and looking forward to being in the same corner as Dake once again and thought it would be a nice way for each of us to celebrate the great match that took place the week prior, but that just wasn’t the case. I could only break up the pin so many times before D-Day and Hector kept me out of the ring while Rodriguez got the pin. And let’s not take anything away from Hector. He may be a rookie, but he has a lot of talent and I think you are going to see him at the top of the card on a weekly basis. He’s a man like myself who respects this business and is in it for the entertainment, the honor, and the respect, not for personal pride, bragging rights, or anything else. Nice to see another wrestler, other than myself, who is in this business for the right reasons.
That was something else I think the fans were buzzing about after Monday night. Was there a reason that you shook hands with Hector Rodriguez? I mean, he just pinned your friend and teammate for the night and then you extended a hand. Is this something that the WCF fans should keep an eye on or simply a onetime occurrence?
It was simply a sign of respect for a hard fought match and a congratulations on a great win for a rookie. People seem to be looking into much farther than they should be. Hector is a great wrestler and I think that he deserves credit where credit is due for walking into this federation, having his first match cancelled and then pinning Dake Ken in his second. I’m not saying that this is some sort of alliance between myself and Rodriguez, but he came out in the open and expressed his respect for me in his promos and I figured I would acknowledge that respect in the ring. He is not the typical guy that comes in here and talks about how he is going to dominate the ranks of a federation and eventually become the World Champion and all those other clichés that newcomers usually use in their first few promos. We are seeing it right now with TK Saves and frankly it gets a little old. I’m sure the guys that have been here much longer than I have would agree and I am sure they have seen it from many wrestlers in the past that simply failed to come through on their threats and promises.
So the match this week puts you back in the ring with Hector and D-Day, but there is also a wild card to this match, Craig Jacobs. What are your plans for this week and is there any strategy you will use this time after seeing Jacobs in his debut and Rodriguez in the match with you just a week ago?
I don’t think there is anything that I will do that isn’t different from any other week here in the WCF. Hector is a pure specimen of an athlete and it will take quite a bit to keep that man down for a pinfall, but I have faced D-Day on several occasions before and know what he has to offer and after seeing Craig Jacobs last week, I am prepared for him as well. This match won’t be about revenge for last week’s loss, but it will be about proving that I am the most talented wrestler in the ring this week since Hector seemed to steal the show in our match last Monday.
Of course there will be a couple of matches before the next pay-per-view, but what does being in War VIII mean to you. I know that you have been in many other big matches before and held titles in other federations, and I know you touched on it earlier in the interview, but when you see that all matches eventually lead to one huge event like War, what goes through your head as a participant in such a spectacle. Like you said, it is in Madison Square Garden, you are the last man that will enter the ring, it is for a World Title shot. It just seems a little overwhelming for me to comprehend and I have been covering these for years.
Well, not to repeat myself, but I am honored to be in such an event and I think it will take every ounce of energy that anyone has to emerge victorious and earn that WCF World Title shot with Torture. Seems that as difficult to win as War VIII will be, even if you do manage to survive the carnage and be the last man standing, you still have to deal with AND beat a man like Torture to win the ultimate prize. Many guys will have a certain strategy that they will try to follow. Some of them will try to avoid action and just eliminate those who come after them, while others will look to be ultra aggressive and force the action on someone else so that they do not have to worry about surprise attacks or get accused of stealing a win. No matter what strategy you use, your head has to be on a swivel and you must be aware of all of your surroundings. It only takes one slip up and before you know it, you are staring at the ceiling while the referee’s hand hits the mat for the third time and your dream is over. The matches before War will obviously be difficult to focus on knowing that there is so much at stake on September 27, but staying healthy and keeping momentum for War is also something that can’t be overlooked.
Allen, you are usually a man of few words, but very elaborate ones when it comes to talking about your opponents. Is there anything you have to say this week about the three men that will enter the ring with you on Monday night? Or is there anyone that you would like to address leading up to War?
I don’t think anything needs to be said to my opponents this week. D-Day knows what he is going up against and knows what I am capable of after watching me execute an Ace of Spades on Ryan Daniels right in front of him when I defended my former title. This isn’t his first rodeo and he is gradually starting to make a name for himself as one of the better midcarders in this federation and I think in time he will be near the level of the top tier wrestlers, but until then, he will be wanting to avoid a man like myself, especially after a loss like I suffered last week that blemished my record for the fifth time.
Craig Jacobs is a newcomer and there really isn’t much to say to him either, but I think he knows and the fans know that the exciting action will take place when Hector and I tie up and put on a show for all those fans in Memphis, Tennessee. That state may be crazy about Volunteer football right now, but the only thing they will be buzzing about after Monday night is the show that was put on at the Fed Ex Forum and the run ins between Rodriguez and myself. Not to take anything away from Jacobs, but like D-Day, his time to make a mark will come, and unfortunately for him, he has to be in the same squared circle as Slickie T this week.
As for Hector, he knows what I think about him and don’t be surprised if there is another handshake after this week’s match. He is one hell of a competitor and I know that I have said that more than once, but I can’t say it enough. He gives it all he has and it will take a little something extra to for me, or anyone else for that matter, to get a victory over him. If I was a betting man, and I am, I would pick him as my wild card for War. I truly think that he will make a huge splash at that event and you will start seeing some Hector shirts pop up all over the arenas in the weeks after War.
Alright Allen, last question, and the one that I am sure you have been waiting for...I have noticed, and I am sure these fans have as well…where is Mrs. Guiliano? Or is there even a Mrs. Guiliano out there? I don’t’ believe there is and I think that would make you the WCF’s Most Eligible Bachelor!
Ah, I knew there was a question in there somewhere that I wouldn’t’ be ready for and there it is. Well, Hank, I don’t think I am at liberty to talk about my personal life like that, but let me tell you this, I have been called a lot of things in my career, but I don’t think “most eligible bachelor” has been one of them. I am a single man, but that doesn’t mean I am looking to change that any time soon. I barely have time for myself being in the two businesses that I am in, I don’t think a women would be the best thing in my life, actually I would think they would want to steer clear of me after seeing what I do for a living. I get my face bashed in by men much larger than me week in and week out and I am involving in gambling. If I didn’t know myself, I would say that I am a train wreck and need to get my life in order as fast as possible before I kill myself. But, I guess since to answer your question, no, there is no Mrs. Guiliano and don’t expect one anytime soon.
Well, there you have it ladies, Mr. Allen Guiliano is on the market! I’m sure there are plenty of female WCF fans out there that would love to be Mrs. Guiliano, but I suppose we will save that conversation for another time. That will conclude our interview here tonight from Las Vegas. I want to thank Allen Guiliano for his great hospitality, allowing us to set up in this wonderful hotel room, and for his precious time. The WCF will be back on the air this week on Monday night in Memphis, Tennessee, LIVE from the Fed Ex Forum. I am Hank Brown and this has been another exclusive interview here on WCF TV. Be safe out there!
Both men remove their lapel mics and share a laugh, Allen’s face still stunned by the last question of the interview. The screen fades to black as the wrestler and interviewer clasps hands for yet another handshake and the green WCF logo appears on the screen.
